I am regretfully archiving this cache since unfortunately there has been no action to restore it, or any communication from the cache owner, diverdan94, requesting additional time.

An ample opportunity has been provided for the Cache Owner to respond, but since this opportunity has been ignored, I can only conclude that the cache has been abandoned.

Caches archived under these circumstances are unable to be Unarchived, and this location is now available for the placement of a new cache, by somebody else.

###Cache Maintenance Visit Required please.###
This geocache has been brought to my attention as being in need of an Owner Maintenance visit, as the logs indicate that it is most likely missing, or else some other problem exists with the cache. See the [GCHQ Health Score](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=713) process.
I agree that it certainly seems necessary to have it checked by the Cache Owner.

The cache owner needs to:

* Take action to restore the cache or address any issues such as correcting the D/T rating.
* Re-enable the cache by posting an Enable log
* Post an Owner Maintenance log to advise what has been done, and to clear any Needs Maintenance attribute which is present.

Otherwise :
* Post a Note Log to request more time if necessary, or provide other information..
**Do not use an Owner Maintenance log for this, that is for use only **when you actually do something to repair the cache**.

Alternatively:

* Archive the cache, and remove any remaining geo-litter from the site.

In the meantime, I've temporarily disabled the cache page to await owner action by diverdan94 and to take it off the playing board to prevent further geocaching community inconvenience.
[Please see the maintenance section of the Geocache Hiding Guidelines.](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines?expand=1#cachemaintenance)
**I will check back in 30 days** to see that action has been by the CO.
If nothing has happened, I will assume that the cache has been abandoned and, unfortunately, I will need to Archive this cache.
*Caches archived because of lack of maintenance/abandonment will not be unarchived.*

The Geocaching Community needs to have a degree of certainty that a cache is there, and in good condition, waiting to be found, and the CO has a responsibility to maintain their caches.

Please see [my profile page](https://www.geocaching.com/p/default.aspx?u=Balayang) for additional information.
Thank you

Can't find

28-May-22
Spent a while here, having lunch and waiting out some dogwalking/birdwatching muggles. In between bites, looked everywhere I could think of, multiple times - helped by the water level being way, way out compared to our last visit - under/around/alongside, nothing doing. A couple of PAFs came in and confirmed where to look. Would appreciate a CO check here.

28-May-22
Based on a really good search at very low tide and a couple of PAFs to previous finders, thinking this is probably not where it should be any more. Please can we have a CO check?

Came back today with some tools to retrieve cache. Cache has survived being under water with log intact. I have replaced in Co ‘s hiding spot but in accessible above the water line spot.

Can see the nano in its hiding spot but has been pushed down to far and is under water. Unable to retrieve. Water is quite high at the moment - do have a photo.

Sneaky little hide in a lovely bird hide. TFTC

After the Dockers lost their match against Essendon, I headed out to South Lake to have a find some of the recently published caches and some older existing caches too.

Got my knees sandy looking for this one, but eventually I spotted it. Cheers diverdan94! Big Grin

Nobody around today and only 2 ducks on the lake to watch me grovel around. Didn't find it last time and got a hint meanwhile but still, took me longer than it should have.

Couldn't spy this one today.

I was meeting TeamBaylis for a walk around her local lake. I’d stupidly left my phone at home so we were reliant on hers but at least I brought a pencil. We had to read previous logs to sort this one. It’s a brave person who hides a nano near water and an even braver one who hides a nano over water. Only you and those of us who have found this cache know your level of braveness. Thanks for the hide.

On a walk around the lake with KB - took us a while, but eventually success! TFTC

15-Nov-20
Well this took some searching. About 10 minutes spent clearing spider webs and finding some big arachnids. At one stage I was laying down stretching (against the cache instructions) when a small thing moved and fell into the water! Fearing I had just lost the cache I ended up shoulder deep in the water only to discover I was searching for a snail I knocked off.
After saving the waterlogged fellow I spotted the cache. Cheeky.
Log signed with one arm soaked. TFTC and bringing me here.

Headed out with Cravo10 for a few caches close to home, managed to snag a few that have popped up in the area.

Thanks for the hide.

Returned here to claim back a find, found after a few minutes, yes a very keen eye will spot this from the boardwalk.

I thought I would come back and give it another try today. Found it a few steps away from where I was led yesterday. But I can’t complain because it was a great excuse to come back to this because location. TFTC

I completely missed the notification for this one. I went for my morning run and it wasn't until I arrived home and turned on the computer to log my finds that the email popped up. At first I thought it had only just been published and was getting ready to dash out the door again when I saw the time, then I checked the logs and saw that it had only just been found Sad, oh well 'thems the breaks'.
So this morning I kept my run local and headed out this way. This is on one of my usual running loops but I have never been down here before. I saw them doing lots of work around here a while ago but I thought they were doing something to help with the drainage not building this neat bird hide.
I arrived at GZ and began the search checking all the places to hide a magnetic nano, checking high and low on the metal structure but nothing was found. I eventually moved to a different spot to see if I could bet a better view and there it was right in front of my eyes.

Thanks diverdan94 for placing your first hide, a great area and good to see something new to it. Either it’s my sleepy eyes or lack of coffee that stopped me from finding your cache today however it’s close to home and I will be back at some point.
I did look high and low, on each metallic surface however my eye was clearly not keen enough to find this cache.... cleared out most of the spiders for the next finder??

08-Oct-20
I thought I would give this new one a go while I was in the area looking for a few other caches but I just couldn’t find it. I searched and felt my way around the place, holding on to my phone and sunglasses while doing so, thought I might be on to something a couple of times but alas nothing. I will be back not just to make a find, but to have another look at this beautiful place. Spotted some ducks on a platoon out on the water close by.

o830 *FTF* gone.

The Better Half and I saw the dnf by cravo10 so decided to come and try ourselves before I headed to the Museum. Arrived where the tablet said was ground zero but saw nothing so started up the dedicated GPS and found that it gave us a slightly different ground zero so concentrated around it. Eventually found the pesky nano but not quite sure that it is really all that visible without gymnastics but at least it was doable from the boardwalk without getting wet. Found it was a blank log so joint *FTF* with the Better Half around 0830 hours making me a bit lat for the museum.

Log signed and cache returned as found.

Thanks diverdan94 for placing this cache for us to find.

08-Oct-20
Went with Chwiliwr to try our luck. Searched a little before Chwiliwr said got it.
Joint *FTF* at 8.30. Logged signed and replaced as found.

Thanks for putting the cache out for us to find.

Based on a couple of DNFs today I've decided to update the difficulty rating from a 2 to a 3.

The revised rating also takes into account the fact that Google Maps imagery has not been updated since the bird hide and other changes in the area have been completed. As such, it is difficult (if not impossible?) to get any clues from the satellite imagery.
