I completely forgot about this cache, so I had to go back about 400m up the hill. Luckily the find was quite quick so i could continue on. Thanks
A good climb up the hill on a cloudy sunday. Fairly easy to find. Cache is in good shape.
But why is this hump here? Where does this side path lead? We'll never know...A simple location that was quick to find. No pen with me so attached is photo log. TFTC!
Found closer to the hump than our phones showed us at first. Lovely spot! Greety from the US. TFTC!
Quick find thanks to the hint! Great spot to pause on the way up, love this woodland. Tftc!
I do remember that I had been on this trail before, but that’s years ago, nice to see new caches which I was looking for after returning from Russell

(Is this owner the other same owner who put out these caches here? … just wondering ️)

Our cruise around the Bay of Islands was curtailed because of the inclement weather and rough seas so we didn’t get to see the Hole in the Rock but this left us with more time to explore the area around Paihia.
Mr Bb set off to collect this brace of caches late in the afternoon while Mrs Bb went back to the hotel to relax.
A quick find here, signed the log and carefully replaced the cache as found.
TFTC.

Today we visited the Bay of Island and walked the Paihia School Road Track and a part of Oromahoe Traverse with a few Geocaches.
Visited Paihia today. Fortunately the weather was not too bad so wewent for this walk. Found the cache quickly thanks to the hint. Tftc!
The second last port on our cruise from Australia. Actually only stopped at Bay of Islands because of wild weather on the East Coast. Couldn't work out the hint initially until we realised that track was closed off. Also direction to look refers to going down from lookout.
Day 8 of a Northland tour. We are in Paihia, and today is a boat cruise around the islands, shopping in Paihia, and a walk up to the Paihia lookout.
We decided to have a bit of a crack at this track, but were not keen on the full Oromahoe traverse.
This is a nicely formed track up here. We only saw a handful of other people on our travels, all of them coincidentally in the same spot along the lower boardwalk.
Cache found quickly thanks to hints, all good here. TFTC Fullofun.

I saw their were two dnfs at this cache. I took a spare cache just in case I couldn't find it. Beautiful bush vertical walk lots of heavy breathing and unfortunately I couldn't find it so after scouting round I found an appropriate spot with leaf litter on top. I have sent photos to.co. TFTC.
Spent time looking here in the way up and also on the way back down but had no joy. Looks like the area has been trampled a little bit unfortunately.
What a great little walk and so close to town although you would never know it. Now to find your cache at the lookout. Thank you Fullofun.
Lovely day for a bush walk while we are in the Bay. Reasonably quick find using the hint, even though the coords were out a bit. TFTC.
Great walk to work off our lunch on the way to the lookout. Quick find as we spotted the hint straight away. TFGC
Found the Hump pretty easy. Bit of a hike up after a day of caching. Off to the lookout next. TFTC found with Yvettetb
On the ascent to the top I was thoroughly discombobulated by the clue, I just couldn't work it out. I abandoned it and continued up to collect another cache on my list and had another go on the way down. From that direction the clue made a lot more sense. From what does he mean to ooh in less time than it took to complete the thought. TFTC and a fp.
That's quite a hill! Found today while traveling around NZ in our house bus. Found cache then realized there was no pen in my bag !! So we took a photo. TFTC!
After completing the new Bay of Islands half marathon event this morning, I was ready to head back to Whangarei, but these two greenies up behind Paihia were just calling out to me.
So, being as the weather was so nice today, and I already had my trail gear on, I decided to do the extra 5 km round trip. Initially I went a bit far and was having no luck with the find, until suddenly I spotted it and wondered how I could have been so blind....!! Signed the log and replaced just before a group of muggles came down the track. TFTC

Decided to grab this one while in paihia today. Nice easy find.
Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the cache
After not finding this one (twice) in December last year, I tried again today and finally had a good result. TFTC
Was working up north, and needed to get away from all the traffic and people so decided on a walk after work. Parked up the car and headed up here. Not many people out, considering how busy town is. A quick find, but there was no log paper in the cache. Added some paper. TFTC
Today I decided to do this traverse in hope of easing the legs after yesterday's long walk. Got a ride to the start of the walk on the Oramahoe road. Started off and the first stairs I was wondering why I decided to do the walk after yesterday's long walk but there was no turning back. After my extra 3kms (guesstimate) done after missing two caches along the way.
I reach the area this cache is located. I decide to phone my ride after a quick search to let them know I have this one to find and then I will head down.
After searching for quite awhile I could not locate. Before deciding it was time to head down to my ride. This should be an easy find but maybe I am too tired from the walk. Least this one will be easy to get to again from the Pahia side. So I will be back next year to get a smiley.

After finding the Oromahoe end cache I thought it was time for a walk. I parked up at School Rd and headed up this familiar track. Last time I walked up here was after the countrywide covid-19 lockdown with my son and his girlfriend. Two fit sporting young twenty year olds zoomed up here and I felt my age. Today setting my own pace it was much better. A good description and another easy {FTF} at 7.52am. Thanks RussellSchool
