Back from holiday and needing to banish the jet lag so after a few errands I thought Id pop out to knock of a few caches. Id tracked down the beasts several months ago but had not had the opportunity to visit the GZ since. I counted down the metres to the GZ and started to take a look around when I spotted a man with a dog nearby who took a keen interest in what I was doing. Perhaps he was the man mentioned in the previous log. I wandered away a bit and waited for him to move off before diving in the find the nicely camouflaged cache. Thanks tryfyn#5013Logged using Cachly.

I'd done the hard yards on this with matagouri a few weeks ago, so figured today would be a good day to pick up the final. It was fairly quiet at GZ other than a muggle on a seat a little further down. No problems spotting the cache. Thanks for setting this up - the dragon is very cool!

Rattll and I started off this multi in the Hamilton Gardens prior to Xmas. Over the next few weeks, we gathered the rest of the required info around Hamilton (by one means or other) until we'd calculated the coordinates of GZ. Today was our opportunity to pick up the final.Although reasonably busy nearby, GZ itself was all quiet, save for a man exercising his dog. We approached using the cover of the trees to avoid observation. Rattll reached in to grab the container, passed it back to me to sign. Operation successfully completed, we backed out, only to realise that the dog-owner was watching us curiously from the other side of the trees. Gods only know what he thought we were doing! Thanks for a fun multi!

Was able to rely mostly on local knowledge for this one although I still learnt a couple of new things in the process of collecting what I needed for the final coordinates. Parked a short walk from the final which I found fairly quickly and in good condition. TFTC

Had a lot of fun with this one! A nice thought out multi! Found the final in the rain! I hope it stops soon as we are heading to the stadium tonight to watch the Woman’s FIFA game Vietnam - Portugal. FP for the adventure. thanks tryfyn

Happy to claim this one today after Mr Pinocchio and I spent a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon nutting this out. We had previously found 3 of the waypoints and wanted to finish this off on Saturday but one of the waypoints is currently a construction site and I found two of the others quite difficult. Fortunately we attended the event on Saturday night and received some help there. Today was just a quick pick up then onto the start of the “Beastly Hamilton Gardens” puzzle! Must be a tiger for punishment Thanks for setting this multi up

Got this one while exploring the gardens and collecting caches with the family. The solve was relatively easy but the collection was a bit of a challenge.

The cache is not easily removed for its location and even at a full stretch I was breaking twigs and getting poked in the eye. Head down I fumbled my way and soon had the log in hand.

Thanks for the cache.

Another lovely day out spent geocaching, thanks for bringing us back to the gardens. Easy find, was where it’s supposed to be.

13-Dec-22
Big Sis, junior and I had done the mahi travelling around Hamilton identifying various works of art so we couldn't leave without finding the cache. Big Sis' beagle eyes won through again. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the waypoints . What with taking Junior to her swimming each day and finding caches we learnt our way around Hamilton. Tft multi.

TFTC was convinced I wasn’t gonna find this one as my phone died and was struggling to cope with all the way points.

Merlot58 and I were in Hamilton visiting a show at Mystery Creek today and after that seeing that we had some spare time we decided to do the Adlab around the boundary of the Hamilton Cemetery and any other caches that got in the way.

This one was found on the ground but was successfully tied back up where it is supposed to be.

Cheers for the cache.

A bit of local knowledge, and a small bit of help from google, I managed to solve this multi from home. I've had to final coords for a few weeks now, so all that was required was a short walk to the final from where I parked the car. Didn't take long to spot the nicely hidden cache. Thanks for the fun cache, I love the theme!

Spotted the beastly thing last weekend while out running but didn't have a pen on me. Returned today with the right tool to sign the log sheet and re-tied best I could as it had come away from resting place. Thanks for puzzle and cache!

We have had this multi solved for sometime, but haven't been in the right area to sign it off. Today after a cycle ride from Hamilton Gardens to Ngarawhaia and back, we had time to collect a few caches before heading home. After a walk around the gardens (which was very busy on the first holiday to celebrate Matariki as well as the new Egyptian garden) we made our way to gz where the cache was soon spotted. The cache is no longer attached, but is now perched in place. TFTM

A plan was made to head down to Hamilton/Hunty with Gorby, tramyard and rustynz for the day. It ended up being quite foggy and wet, but we didn't let that stop us.

I have had this solved for awhile, but didn't get a chance to make the find when I was here with my nieces and nephews. This time our group trooped over in the rain to GZ where it didn't take too long to spy the cache. I enjoyed solving this multi.

A few weeks ago tramyard suggested another road trip for myself, rustynz and Aiden29, we asked nicely if Aiden would be so kind to be our driver again in her 'forensic' car. She was keen and today was the day appointed. I got picked up at 6:30am, then we drove over and picked up rusty then shortly after that tramyard. Then outa Auckland for Huntly and Hamilton for mostly targeted caches and an event at the RSA at 6pm in Huntly.

We're in Hamilton Gardens now, have been everywhere and around this area, still don't think I have seen everything, must come back for another day of adventure, but while here we picked up this final, I never knew the C.O had so many beastly convolutions! Tramyard found this one I think, thanks tryfyn.

With aiden29, tramyard and gorby, we have just completed the Crystal Maze wherigo, and are now looking for a few other multis, and puzzle solves Big Grin

We walk up to this one, a little wet underfoot, with the four of us spread out, eventually the call came out that the cache had been found.

A fun find and advneture, thanks tryfyn for creating this beastly multi

Middle winter Hamilton / Hunty (18th) road trip with Aiden29, Gorby and rustynz on foggy and rainy day.
Thanks for a placement!

After lunch in the cafe at the Hamilton Gardens with Team Welsh and Bennett24 we headed off to make the find of this Beastly Hamilton multi. There were so many cars parked up here today, but thankfully we mostly had the area near GZ to ourselves. The cache was soon spotted and signed by us all. We really enjoyed doing this Beastly multi some weeks ago, so adding a Favourite point. Thanks.

KC and I met up withB24 for lunch in the incredibly busy gardens. We had all solved it prior to visiting so made sure we had a wander after eating to sign this one off. The cache find was straight forward and I have really enjoyed the beastly caches that I have found so far. Thanks

I had looked at this cache about a month ago and managed to get most of the info required but did not get the checker to agree with what I had. It was late and I set it aside and forgot about it until yesterday when another cacher reminded me we were heading this way. I had all but one of the figures right and after having another look managed to get the checker to agree this time on the first check.

After a walk around the gardens (was very busy on a fine long weekend day and new Egyptian garden to look at) and then meeting for lunch at the café nearby we headed for the final. Cache was quickly for by TW. All good here, TFTC.

After completing the nearby Ad.Lab we came to find this one. When this was first published we instantly recognised the sculptures and had GZ sorted easily. It's just taken a while to come find the cache. TFTC.

A bit of a tough cache hide, I initially guessed the cache host wrong but once I was on the right track the sign off was completed. TFTMC

Very well camouflaged but found it eventually along with MSP.

A fun puzzle for us to do together with N&G Ratbag. Some we knew, but a couple we have looked at often but not registered! The G and the Phoenix parts got a pass on Christmas morning for just ONE cache, so this was it Smile We located the general area quickly enough, and then the real fun began. Great camo, and found only as we were about to give up which would not have been the Christmas spirit! Merry Christmas and TFTC!

Did the legwork in conjunction with a few other hunts. Figured out out and made the tricky find. Thanks .

Another enjoyable virtual hunt of Hamilton. Pretty busy today but an easy (although puffed!) find with the geokids. Gorgeous day for a winter visit to the gardens and to use our friends of the gardens card on a cheaper lunch! Thanks for the time and effort that's gone into these caches. TFTC!

Solved a way back with a bit of help. Was in the tron today so time to knock this one off, cheers!

Many I knew already, which was a big help, and with a bit of leg work, a solution was found.
Very busy in the area today, a quick find for us. Tftc

Knew where most of these were from the multi. Walked up to GZ on a nice sunny morning. Took a while to locate and found access to retrieve and sign difficult. Thanks for the mystery.

Didn't take too long to sort out this multi, most of the waypoints I were familiar with. After getting the green tick finding the final was a little more difficult, nicely camoed

With Gap (of Fap and Gap) and brother... We have a date with a tree cache and a 6000th party to attend this evening. Something different than your usual Sunday.

There was some initial group chatter when this cache was published. With equal amounts of prior knowledge and guess work, we were able to come up with some coordinates. The geochecker approved, much to our satisfaction... We were unsure about the best approach, so we parked and walked. The iPhone gps was a handful of metres out for us, but we knew we had to be in the right place. Despite a very long look, this one wasn’t easy to spot - it blends in very well. Thanks tryfyn and TFTC.

I'd managed to have a very productive night shift working on a couple of multi's that I was confident I could do from work. I was surprised to find a little googling and guess work got me the tick easily. Various caches over the years have brought me to these gardens and no doubt I'll be back in the years to come - today however it was just just a quick park and grab thanks to my new vehicle that could park right next to gz.... Big Grin

I'm in Hamilton to drop my child off at Boys High for a Karate Competition and then blissfully geocached the day away. The cache was found quickly & in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. Cheers tryfyn & TFTC Smile

So today was going to be a big day for me and Hairy (KGD) as today we were going into the Kaimais to get 2 new caches. I needed 3 for my 4000th one so we stopped here early morning before heading to the Kaimais TFTC

Find number 7424. When this one came up last night I thought it would be good for a night adventure. It took me a few hours to get the required information. Southern Victoria Street is an interesting place after midnight. Eventually I thought I had the answer but got 2 red crosses before realizing I had mad a typing error. With this corrected I had the first green tick. Off to GZ but a search by torchlight produced nothing. So it was back to bed and return at daybreak. A lengthy search and I finally spotted it. Then it was a matter of getting my hands on it. This done I opened it at 8am to find a blank log. So I was rewarded for my effort with a {FTF}. Then it was home for breakfast. Thank you for the placement.
