Out today around Harrietville with Alansee, Feathertop, Maccamob, Rabbitto, Pacman, Micaparamedic and McLookers, concentrating mainly on finishing the SNOMO caches before lunch, then F.L.A.K.E., with a few others along the way. All caches found in good order. Signed or stamped as Vic1.Thanks to Ronice88 for the cache.
I was in Harrietville for a few days with some muggle friends. It wasnt planned to be a caching trip, but you know how it goes. I managed to get out and do some hunting, mainly for the ones set up by Ronice88. Today one of my mates joined me, and he seemed to enjoy the fun. Thanks for all your work in this area Ronice.
A group of us made plans for 2 days here. Snomo, flakes and lots of miscellaneous caches.Log signed as VIC1. Found today with maccamob, Muzza, Alansee, micaparamedic, Rabbitto, Mclookers and ThePacman. Day 2 and weather threatening. End of the flake caches here. Thanks Ronice88
Found by Mary and David with the VIC1 group. Today we started with the Bon Accord track caches and several others around Harrietville. After lunch at the pub, we headed out of town to tyackle the F.L.A.K.E. cache, which we completed. We found few Trads and multis along the way, and finished the day with an Event at the Bright pub. Our thanks to Ronice88.
Found by The Empire + HLeaving Bright, we headed towards Harrietville, a scenic drive through the heart of the Alpine region. The road was flanked by towering trees and lush greenery, with the Ovens River flowing gently alongside us. The drive was peaceful, with the occasional bend revealing glimpses of the surrounding mountains. As we got closer to Harrietville, the landscape began to shift, with the foothills of the Victorian Alps rising on either side. The quiet beauty of the region was unmistakable, and the fresh mountain air made the drive feel refreshing. Thanks for the cache Ronice88.-M
Heading down Omeo to camp making the most of the AFL long weekend we stopped for this Ronnie cache & so glad we did! Man you make caching fun Ronnie - loved the effort gone into the container! Cheers & go Swannies
No swooping magpies today, althougha couple flew past while we were here. Amazing how busy this road is. Thanks
Up in Bright for the weekend, time to tick off the few remaining cache in the areaGreat container tftc
Luckily with it not the season for swooping the local magpies just sat up in the trees keeping an eye on me. Loved the camo. Thanks for the cache.
Overnight visit to Mt Hotham working with the old man. Family came along for the ride. Actually, our first time up here - drive up - is nothing short of amazing. No swooping today! A quick find here- cache all good.TFTC!

Found at 6:40 PM GAFF1.We are camped at Smoko for a couple of nights and after travelling from a beautiful camp in Tumut - Jones Bridge, we come to another picturesque camp along the Great Alpine Road. however it started to drizzle when we arrived which put a dampener on my intention to head out on the bike to do some of the F.L.A.K.E. series. So while waiting for our grand niece to come over for a dinner of schnitzel and roast vegetables, I headed out to do a couple of the nearby caches and this one (apart from the undoable CoI&F one) was the 2nd closest. Ventured across tall wet grass and after a few moments saw a nicely set up cache in theme container, which is p-pprass's favourite bird, even though when being in Australia for just a few months, one swooped and smashed my scalp a beauty - I cried all the way home Thanks to Ronice88
Heading into Harrietville for a coffee on our bikes and grabbed this along the way. It was a quick find and really enjoying the ride, despite the cool start and spotting snow on Mt Hotham. Could be a good season.
A quick find at GZ despite being the magpies. Just watch the big wombat hole.
Thanks for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

Got this one and very relieved that the little blighter stayed on the nest for the duration
Day 3 of our high country tour and the overnight rain has stopped but the grass is wet. So on with the gum boots and another quick find. Love the container and all the thought and effort this CO pits into their cache hides. Thanks
Plenty of magpies singing here today but fortunately no swooping.
Great cache container TFTC

While searching for this cache the magpies were singing in the trees. No swooping today. I am giving you a favourite because of the trouble you went to with the cache design. TFTC
Found with LittleBoss2 on our week in Bright and surrounds. Thanks again Ronice88 for placing these for our drive to Harrietville. Go PIES
**Total find count: 1251**
We headed into Bright today from our mountain stop accomodation to stock up the pantry for our last couple of evenings before we start heading home.
Researching a few caches, we spotted names of cachers from back home that had been through the area in the previous couple of days. It's a small world to see cachers from the next suburb at home in the next town when you're out of towners.
Cache was found with Crzymelly, TeamPQS & JustWanderingAbout
Another quick find on the side of the road. Love the little addition to the cache. Legals completed and cache returned as found.

We saw quite a few riders being swooped over the last few days on bikes.
A quick find before we went nearby to set up camp for the night

With the MEGA now finished we headed off to camp at Smoko while we explored Harrietville and the surrounds. The weather is a little more overcast today so we thought it would be perfect temperature for a walk.
After returning to camp after a big day completing SNOMO and a swim in the river I realised we were on 48 finds for the day. With a challenge cache requiring multiple days with 50 finds we set off after dinner to grab these two caches near the campsite. A quick find here back on the main road, made for our 50th cache of the day. Haven’t been swooped by a magpie before, but those damn myna birds were on fire during lockdown exercise!
Thanks Ronice88 for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

It’s MEGA Road Trip time!! A plan is hatched and we are good to go.
DAY FOUR: Harrietville
Only once been swooped by a magpie. Waved my arms and actually connected.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, Ronice88

In Wangaratta for the Mega, we traveled over early so we could get some local caching in. After stowing the shop in a storage shed so it wasn't bouncing around in the back of the car we set up in the caravan park and Can now cache and explore. We headed out early..ish today our mission to explore Beechworth and Bright and of course...to Cache! Love the effort gone into this container. A rare STC Fav Point coming your way! TFTC
#18055. Having not been away anywhere for almost 2 years Rob suggested we book a couple of nights at Mt Beauty. We had no sooner done this than WHAM Ronice88's GeoArt SCOMO hit my emails. Rob immediately started to work through them, getting more and more grey hair by the minute.
So today it was a Bright, Harrietville, Mt Beauty day with 15 finds and 2 DNF's. The weather ruined our caching time at Harrietville so we will return when the weather is better.
11.40am. Fortunately we are not in swooping season and yes they can be so aggressive it is frightening. A quick find of the very nice cache container. We added our names and continued on our way.
Thanks Ronice88

The day started off nicely, but quickly went to WET when we were at Harrietville!
We got a few done there before getting soaked (us and the doggies!)
The rain didn't look like it was going to stop in the next few weeks so we set off for Mt Beauty where we are staying. We shall return for a few more SNOMO caches.
Just past the swooping season (thank goodness!)
A very cute cache here.
Thanks, Robmc.

A few birds gave me the eye but I was able to yes, swoop in; and also leave a Reach the Peak trackable. Great container! TFTC!!
Interesting cache container. Shoulders good for cycling until new pathway completed.
On a research mission to see how the Shared Trail is progressing between Bright and Harrietville. No magpies to swoop us, but there was a farmer on a tractor with slasher right there as we pulled off the GAR! We were a little worried that the cache had been turned to mulch, but after the tractor passed by, we quickly uncovered the prize and SL at 1.05pm #8244 TFTC Ronice88
Swooped in to get this as she on as we could after returning from holidays. Luckily no magpie in sight.
This magpie has pestered us many times cycling past over the years and have registered his attacks on Magpie Alert website.
