Found the trailhead, sorta, this afternoon. However, as you can see from my posted pic, I didn't get much past the sign. I hope to be back once hell thaws out so I can hike this hill and get the answer to the question. I have a few pics to post for this one, I hope you enjoy them. This is one GS! cache that will have to remain on my unfound list. Thanks for the beautiful views today! Happy caching!!

Camped in Lodgepole Campground for a week. First day after arrival I grabbed the mountain bike and hussled to the Little Baldy pass. Locked the bike to the post, switched shoes, and started the upward hike. Made the summit and was rewarded with a clear - GREAT view! (Emailed you the answer)

Groovy and I took our sweet time on a photo and caching hike up to Little Baldy. We were first on the trail this sparkling August morning, increasing the opportunities to meet up with some of the local fauna. We were treated to Golden-mantled ground squirrels (Spermophilis lateralis), Long-eared Chipmunks (Tamius quadrimaculatus), honey bees, bumblebees, a Western Tanager, and so many Yellow-bellied Marmots (Marmota flaviventris) distributed along the trail that this might have easily been named Marmot Mountain. Since this was a prime season Sunday, a few hikers passed us as we stopped often to watch the critters. By the time we reached the summit, there was only one other small group looking out over the southern bluff and they soon left so we had Little Baldy to ourselves for our lunchtime break. Found the cache within .001 degree of posted lat and long. After finishing eating our sandwiches, we wandered over to take in the views of the Marble Fork drainage. Controlled fires at this time of year made for some haziness but we still enjoyed the fine sights.

Thanks for a memorable virtual.

I'm a bit slow with my log note for this cache but that seems to be my style.

We spent the weekend up in Sequoia doing the usual driving tour, but after all that time spent on our back sides we decided we needed some exercise. So little baldy presented the perfect opportunity to find a cache and raise a sweat.

Great views from the top! That mountain range is amazing. We don't have any thing like that back in Australia! All our mountains are like your hills Big Grin
Thanks

Sequoia National Park is one of my favorites. I visited it already several times and hiked a lot of trails, but never was on Little Baldy.
Now I noticed what I missed. This was really a great hike and what a view. Thanks for leading me up there.
