Out and about with TanSaf today caching along the Hallam Valley Trail. I had just completed the series and was pleased to see another cache nearby. The rain seemed to have stopped so we made our way up the hill. Unfortunately the back fence of the house behind GZ had been knocked down but fortunately the fencer was also a geocacher and signed the log too. Always good to meet a fellow geocacher in the wild. Thanks crank1 for placing the cache.
Having completed the nearby Hallam Trail with Skylizard, this was our last find for the day. Quickly located after walking along the path in the rain dodging a few fallen branches from recent storms. TFTC
I was so close to giving up on this one until Candy0121 spotted it, thank god I was tall enough to grab it Definitely a good one, TFTC.
Was just about to give up when we had a better look through the branches. Great hide and TFTC
Lots of possibilities here. Just have to be systematic in the search. Great view crank1 (minus the cars and powerlines)
This one eluded us today, a lot of possibilities and one we felt should have had a higher difficulty rating. Although, we could have just completely missed it, felt that we had scoured GZ quite well.
It was a little bit of a climb to GZ. The search took a few minutes and the angle of view was key to finding the cache. Thanks to crank1 for the cache
Found with LittleBoss2 on our week in Rye. Yesterday's caches were so good, we thought we'd head back up the highway for another long walk. All these caches were in good order with great coords. What an amazing series of caches in a beautiful area. Our sincere thanks to Crank 1 for all the time and effort in placing and maintaining them. This had us going in circles for ages before LB2 decided to climb up a bit and felt it. That's tougher than the rating, well for us anyway
Found with Bogonghazy. Day out caching in the area. Thanks crank1 for placing the cache
I looked for a while and im almost certain its gone judging from the old reviews saying it was easy
Completing another PowerTrail on the push bike today, This time going to tackle the River Gum Trail and the last section of the Hallam Valley Trail I have yet to fully complete. All caches are in good working order unless otherwise specified. Thanks heaps for the caches as always!.
I needed to go to a shop in Dandenong so I planned some caches around the trip. I did a couple of laps around the tree before finally spying the cache. A mention in a previous log helped me narrow down my search area. Thanks to crank1 for the cache.
2nd look and had luck on our side, thanks crank1 for maintaining and checking after first dnfWell done finished our day off well turning a frown into a smile
Found it with Rex 46With Mitzi 123456With great difficulties as Im only 4 ft talk. Im future put abit lower
Should be 2 terrain.
Find it and sign the log as EV, and thanks for the cache and hunt.

Nice stroll up to this , bit on the chilly side and fingers were protesting a little but soon had hide in hand.. tyftc
Hampton Park is a suburb located in the southeastern part of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The area that is now Hampton Park was originally inhabited by the Bunurong people
The first European settler to the area was Robert Bain, who established a farm near present-day Hallam Road in the 1850s. Yet, until the Hampton Park sub-division in 1917-1918 rate payers of the area were listed variously as living in Eumemmerring, Dandenong or Lyndhurst. The area was locally known as Garner’s Paddock, after the owners, the Garner family of Dandenong. The suburb supposedly takes its name from a local property owner, Thomas Hampton, who owned a large estate in the area in the early 20th century. Hampton's property was called "Hampton Park", and it was one of the largest and most significant estates in the region.
Sometimes I am just blind, and sometimes I am really just no good at geocaching. Think it might have been both on this cache. I didn't even see the tree with the REALLY long thorns until I was already in it!!!
Thanks for the cache Crank 1

We were over in Hallam to pick up something today. Once that was done we looked for nearby caches and this was next. We parked around the corner and wandered up the hill to the beautiful tree. We looked around for a bit then checked the hint which confirmed we were looking in the right areas. We kept looking and also checking previous logs and then finally GMelb spotted the cache. Signed and replaced.

Thankfully I was doing it while working so not bad getting paid to do your hobby.

I was having dinner with my Uncle in Hampton Park tonight and after dinner before heading home I thought I needed to walk off all that Chinese that I had consumed. It was also a great opportunity to test out the caching app on my new Garmin watch. Everything worked perfectly with my watch leading me straight to the cache cache guessing the hide as I approached.
The geocaching app on my watch seems to work really well for caching on a trail.
After completing the nearby Hallam Valley trail I though one more quick cache before I head for home. The one more was right but not the quick part. It took me ages to find the little guy. Eventually I managed to see what I was looking for. Thankully with my name in the log and not a DNF that I thought may have been on the cards it was time to head back to the car.
Thank you crank1 for bringing me here

I went there last time on 7 December, and I noticed someone put on the trunk, so I took it and checked. It was still there. You will need to reach a bit high, not on the ground. But I will check sometimes this week. I believe it's still there.
Found the bottom half of the old cache but no luck on finding it
Out with mitsi123456
It was only that crank1 had just did maintenance that kept us looking so long

Recently I went to check, and still there with a new log paper you will need to try to find hard. Up above the head is the photo showing the cache is still there and wait since I put the new cache on December 7. Happy Christmas.
This geocacher reported that the container is damaged.

After missing HVT #12 due to some random parking their car next to it and having a phone conversation, I made my way up the hill to collect this cache. After getting to GZ, I found the cache under a rock in a knot on the tree - which was noted by one of the recent logs. I saw the other half of the cache still hanging; if I had my keys, I could've replaced them. Another fun hide, although not sure if this one is a part of the trail or not, lol.
All that's left now is the long walk back to my car. I'd love to see these extended over the road.

I found this today on my way back from a work errand. Problem is the bottom half of the bison is missing. I found the log so rolled it up and put it under a rock. Hopefully will stay safe until the CO can get to it.
Easy to find on Hallam Rd and Hallam station great view over Hallam and Hampton Park. It needs a little box it will get wet or blow away
Beautiful views from this point. Cache was hidden well amongst its surroundings. Thanks crank1!
In Hallam to pick something up, so a few quick? caches while I am here.
Got it in the end after a lot of looking. just need the right view.
Thanks crank1

Yes. It is a top view.
An exceptionally easy find here in the dwindling daylight.
Found on the way to the SideTracked 2022 - Bunyip - 15th Anniversary Event.
Great to see you there Cranky.

I'm on my way to the SideTracked 15th Anniversary event way out in Bunyip. A later than hoped start on public transport, but that doesn't mean I can't make time to find a few more in the series on the way.
The second of those was just outside this brand spanking new Hallam Station, so once I'd found that I still had time before the next train... so off I wandered up this hill, where a lovely view and... ah, yes... a nice shiny cache awaited.
Phew. This type of container is sometimes the cause of a long search, but fortunately, not this time.
Thanks, crank1

Found it! A grey and windy day today, but I felt like a walk and a few caches. First for the afternoon. Found it once I was looking at the right angle. TFTC SL
With 4 hours to spare I took the opportunity to grab a few caches in the area along the Hallam Valley trail.
It was a prefect night to cache with not a breath of wind to spoil the evening.
This one took some searching, even with a voice out of the darkness to ask “if I had lost something”
They moved on as quick as they appeared so I could continue my search.
Log signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the traditional cache Crank1

Interesting about this missing. I have looked around on the ground but none, so replace a new one.

Out with xambo4u, we searched here for quite a while even though there were two DNF’s before, so we were either cache blind or it has gone AWOL.
Out with echidna44 for another day of seek and finds but not here. Gave it a good going over and PAF. Confirmed idea and agreed of with previous cacher. Concerned pruning's to tree may make this one gone missing. Love the view though crank1
Like others, I could not find this one!
There are signs of recent pruning and perhaps the cache was a victim of this

Maybe I had a bit of cache blindness today or recent pruning has affected the hide. Will keep an eye on this one

Yay the last 1 to finish off this series, this 1 took us way to long to find. TFTC
After dropping my daughter at work for 645am, I decided on a cache or several while the weather was so nice.
Nice view, but the cache stayed elusive for some time.. these can be nasty and the breaking sun was stopping me seeing what I needed. Persisted off though.
Thanks to crank1 for the fun and the adventure.

Scanned the tree and fence and couldn’t locate a line found by previous finders. I’ll be back
We took a little while to find this one but once the tell tale was found, OHC made the retrieval. Thanks for the cache.
A perfect afternoon for a spot of caching after work.
After being stuck in traffic for half an hour, we finally found a good spot to park. Gee I wonder what happened to that house on the corner? Anyhoo, we made our way up to GZ and began hunting around and it wasn’t until GT37 spotted some fishing line that I climbed up to investigate what was attached.

On my way down to my mothers to chop and store some more firewood, come on summer, chopping all this wood it hard work. At least it's an excuse to get out and find some geocaches on the way
Today I am targeting a bunch of caches around the River Gum Creek Reserve and surounding area. Mostly the drizzle held off but I did get a little wet at one stage.
Parked in a nearby back street and walked around. Lovely old peppercorn tree.

In the area completing the new series nearby and had to grab this one. The view from GZ is very good and worth the stop.
The cache was cleverly hidden and the smell of the Peppercorn was excellent.
It did take some searching . Log signed and all back safe again.

We came through here and thought we’d stop here and to find this treasure. Wasn’t in the first spot we looked at but then Geoboy spotted the tell of where it was. Good observation by him and now time to do skids on the bike track.

It was much too nice a day to stay indoors so after a morning walk, I headed here for a cache. A quick walk up the hill and I started searching. It took me a good ten minutes of looking because I've still not got back into the swing of things after lockdown, but it really shouldn't have taken me that long. Spot on co-ords as is typical for this CO made for an enjoyable experience.

After a couple of hours with by caching buddy Fleabag-, he had to head off so I headed to Hampton Park and Cranbourne to look for a few caches that I had DNF'ed before. I had the scooter in the car so I could cruise around quicker and not have to use the car and find parking.
The scooter didn't like this steep hill very much but it was a good view once at the top and also a good view of the neighbours back yard while looking for the cache.
Thanks crank1 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

After hearing that I had the morning off due to some more works in my office I decided it might be a smart idea to do some localise caches to fill in the time. Had an absolutely lovely morning picking up some trads I had been putting away for a rainy day. Either ways thanks for the cache, and the little adventures.

Out with Omegaman1971 to do a few caches in the Hallam, Cranbourne areas, we visited several parks while caching today.
Some interesting stats from 32 cache finds- 28 micros, 1 small and 3 regulars, most being bisons. What ever happened to nice size caches with swag, kind of sad to see the game go this way after fifteen years playing it.

[FTF] Monday morning and the vacuuming done, I checked my emails and noticed a new cache had been published. Thinking that notorious hound 999Hunter would be at work until the late afternoon, I finished up a few things, grabbed the rent-a-dog we are minding and headed out.
Arrived at GZ, secured the dog, then systematically searched the entire area. 10 minutes later I had the cache in hand and a brand spanking new log book awaited my signature. We don’t usually chase FTF’s, but I can see the attraction.
Thanks crank1 from turning a boring day into a mini adventure and I did end up taking the dog to a park for an hours play, so she was happy too.
