A beautiful day out with friends enjoying being driven from cache to cache! Quick find but log is damp and could do with a little TLC. TFTC Throsbyonchurch!
A fun day of caching with the crew in the Southern Highlands. This cache was a straightforward find in the obvious location. Container and log in ok condition, log is a bit damp but able to be signed. Thanks!
Found with Darzee Di on our way to a family gathering at Bundanoon. Log a bit wet.My 700th cache!!!!
Ottercreek29 and I were travelling to our cousin's 50th in Bundanoon and stopped here as we were a little early so looked at the geo app and saw this cache and yep had to grab it. Great hint ..... spot on. Had to dodge ants as we retrieved and signed the log then off to the next one at Bundanoon. This was Ottercreek29's 700th cache find.
Log and zip-lock bag were severely water damaged. Replaced the log but a new zip-lock bag is also needed.
Finally some sunny days, perfect for visiting the Southern Highlands, and doing some caching. This was one of my target caches. I did make it more difficult than it needed to be as I drove down the wrong street and ended up somewhere I suspect there is a cache from it's name but there wasn't time to explore. Finally on the right track and I arrived at Penrose Station. What a cute little place! No muggles seemed to be around so I explored the area then went to look for the cache. Now that is an unusual size for that container! The log was wet but still easily signable.TFTC # 5989
We were heading to Canberra for our second Mega in as many months, and when you are driving a long way, it is wise to break up your drive to prevent driver fatigue. With this in mind, we stopped quite a bit on the journey to find a good number of caches and endeavoured to get closer to qualifying for more Challenge caches. We will use some relatively generic logs with the sheer number of logs we need to complete after the Mega. We are tired and have insufficient brain power to do much more than that.We would like to thank all the cache owners for placing the caches for us to find, and unless otherwise noted, we found all caches in excellent condition.Thank you, ThrosbyonChurch, for this Traditional cache.
I enjoy finding the SideTracked caches that we come across. bunadoorian had his hands on this one first. Well hidden. I was intrigued with the Penrose Community Pantry nearby. TFTC and for bringing us here Throsbyonchurch.
I was surprised at the size of this style of cache, I have seen bigger but not this size. An easy find but it was well hidden. TFTC.
Four years ago, a Bromance team adventure to hike Australia's highest 10 peaks in Kosciuszko National Park was cancelled after bushfires devastated the Snowy Mountains (and indeed most of the Eastern seaboard). We finally returned to Kosciuszko National Park a few days ago and spent three wonderful days in perfect weather hiking a 61 km circuit around the mountains climbing all of Australia's 13 highest peaks and collecting all the alpine caches along our route. After a recovery night and some caching in Canberra, we made our way to Goulburn last night, where we enjoyed a big feed at the pub before an early night. We have lots of caches planned today on our way to Sydney, so we got an early start. After collecting a dozen or so target caches in Goulburn, we continued our journey north. I first found some side tracked caches on a London work trip about 10 years ago. There have been a few published locally down under, so I always continue to add to the list. We were due to stop for a break and Penrose and this side tracked cache, seemed like a good place to do it. Many thanks ThrosbyonchurchPete#7,746
Crookedpete, JezNDez and I were part of a group of 7 geocachers from Brisbane who set off on a 3 day hike to climb to the summit of 13 of the highest mountains in Kosciuszko National Park. Originally this hike was supposed to have been undertaken after Xmas in 2019 but the rampant bushfires closed the park just as I was picking up my fellow team members from Sydney Airport. Now, four years later and it is finally mission accomplished and, after staying the night in Goulburn, we are slowly making the drive back to Queensland, collecting a number of caches on our to-do list along the way.Crookedpete was keen to build up the number of counties with cache finds and this cache ticked off another box for him so we stopped in to make a find. The cache was quickly spotted but the logroll and other scraps of paper inside were wet so I replaced them with a spare I was carrying with me. As I was signing the new log a freight train came rushing by, rattling the ground beneath my feet. With the cache restored to its hide, we were back to the car and off again heading north. TFTC
Quick find today. Log is soggy and shredded and needs replacing. I'm out this way often for work so ill try to replace it soon. TFTC
Now at this one, we can actually see the station station it is. No trouble finding prize. Flies are awful. Is it going to rain? TFTC
A quick find today, not a muggle in sight or hearing! Thanks for the cache Throsbyonchurch
Approached from the wrong angle and started to check out the community pantry instead, which had a few blue things inside & we got distracted Eventually moved away from that and something that fit the hint much better was located, with the cache safely hidden! Signed the cache on the nearby park bench and replaced before heading off! Many thanks TOC, great location!
Found and signed dsd or darksidedan or AB or Adventure Boys to save space in the logbook. Thanks for the cache and the Adventure.
14th find while driving slowly from Sydney to Canberra stopping for some caching on the way. I parked and headed to GZ and quickly spotted the hide. The log was wet and could do with some drying time in the sun, but I was able to leave my sig. All replaced and I had a look at the tulips that were in flower nearby. I had hoped to stop for a tea break, but the cafe is closed, so I continued on my trip, stopping at the cafe in Wingello. TFTC.
Took a while, found it after a good 20 minutes, Papers wet so couldn't log but its a quality cache
I'm heading to Canberra today to spend the weekend with my eldest son and his family, and with a whole day to get there, I had plenty of time to make a few detours in search of a few caches and adventure labs ... and the series of SideTracked caches in this part of the world was something that attracted my attention.
A straightforward here even with muggles doing some gardening close by. The log sheet is, however, very damp and needs to be replaced.
Thanks for placing this cache, Throsbyonchurch, and helping me to increase my tally of SideTracked finds.

Nice quick find. Log is quite wet as noted by others but managed to initial the newer sheet. TFTC!
On a caching raid in the Highlands heading towards the challenge series I stopped here and made an early morning find,
Found this one nicely tucked away
Thanks for the cache

A quick stop after attending Dragonskin in Penrose SF. The log is very wet so I took a photo instead if signing.
Today we had to start heading towards home with ilook4geo but thought we would have enough time to allow ourselves to get SideTracked along the way. This was one of the stations we visited and where we successfully found another cache in this series. Unfortunately the log here was soaked and could not be signed. We visited places where we have not been before and enjoyed the journey along the way. Thank you to ThrosbyonChurch for placing this cache.
We are enjoying the SideTracked series and decided to look for a few more today while heading back home with goingplaces2. Cache was found, log was not signed as it was too wet. TFTC.
Just out for the day drive quick find and sign placed back where it belong TFTC

What a beautiful winter's day to be out caching in the Highlands. An early start had the car temp reading 2deg at Berrima so I headed a bit further south where some new challengers awaited.
Caching wise I bagged a plethora of finds. Animal wise I think I seen more animals than at a zoo, with Emu's, Foxes, Alpacha's, Black sheep and the usual horses and cows. Rail workers made this a difficult find, then a train come which scattered everyone and then it was really easy.
The cache hides were all fine, unless I've made specific mention in my log. Thanks to all the cache owners for contributing to my fun day.

Called in with an idea where to look which proved correct so no need for gps etc. Top hide on this not so busy station. Several people crossing to get to the cafe etc. Great many freight trains. Thanks.
Finalf29 and I decided a little local caching raid was just the thing to welcome in 2021. We did an Adventure Lab and lots of "just one mores!" to round out a cool, drizzly afternoon.
The GPS was pointing down but that was where a muggle was waiting in their car, so went up... then the hint made sense! Great hidey spot... favourite point from me. Thanks

Out with the Sparks and Holm on this cool fresh first day of 2021. All very quiet in little old Penrose. Shop shut, not a lot of traffic. Nice neat hide.
Thanks Throsbyonchurch for the hide.

Did a little detour on the way back from Canberra this afternoon via the Highlands way. Lovely and peacefull and easy cache finds. Love the containers and wondering where they come from?

Been passing here for 40 years, and I think this was my first time on Penrose station platform. Cache found quickly and all OK.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Now that I have 61 SideTracked caches, the clue made sense to me immediately. Pity I did not have some more time to explore around here.
Thanks Throsbyonchurch.
Thanks Throsbyonchurch.
I went with Fitzy_1965 for a long weekend drive up the east coast to Port Macquarie caching along the way and visiting several new towns and villages. A highlight was a get together with Pprass & Kat after a few mega 4wd climbs in the afternoon. Day 4 was out last day and it started rainy. We did the three adventure labs and the virtual around town before starting the drive home. There was a few detours for challenge caches and old caches before hitting the toll roads though Sydney and a few new caches near Wingello.
As we neared the end of our journey, it seemed there were three first to finds up for grabs not far from the highway. As we got closer, one of them was found by Gazza, so we were very happy to get here to find an empty log.
Thanks for the cache Throsbyonchurch

Woo Hoo Joint *FTF* with albida33 at 5:42pm. More to follow.
22,017. Found during an epic trip up to Port Macquarie and back with albida33 over a 4 day weekend. Often signed as F65 A33. After heading up to Taree from Goulburn on Friday, we cached up to and reached Port Macquarie on Saturday. A big day's caching yesterday, and now time for a Virtual and a few Adventure Labs, then time to head home.
Day 4 of our North Coast Adventure, and after a great dinner at pprass's last night it was time to pack up, grab some last minute caches around town, then start the long drive back home. We were especially keen to do the 3 Adventure Labs, the two bonuses, as well as the Virtual. After completing that we hit the highway to head home. During the journey I checked my emails to see that new caches had been published. Three on the way home still unfound - cool ! Let's try for those. After getting ST-Wingello we continued on to this one. Got to GZ and made a quick find of the cache. Opened it up to find a blank log - Awesome ! Signed the log, replaced the cache, then finally headed off home.
Thanks Throsbyonchurch !! Great way to finish a huge weekend of caching.
