Log is almost full. Suggest a replacement. Unfortunately, I didn't have a spare.
Log is totally full and needs replacing - sorry we didn't have one with us today.
I spotted this cache from the car and decided to try out my new(ish) TF pole. The clouds didn't help much, and the rain made things even more fun. After what seemed like an age, I finally had things hooked, and the cache slid down my pole for fast retrieval. Getting the cache back up was much faster, and then it was off to the next one!
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Out pottering around the suburbs picking off a few more caches. With very little sunshine spotting any hanging or fishing caches had a higher difficulty than normal today.Clear weather, glad it wasnt Friday's forecast 40mm of rain. TFTC StrangeTrousers
We were on our way past when we saw Happy Feet1 who was looking a bit perplexed. We pulled in for what we thought was to help look for the cache but were too late, she had it in her hand after a long search. The long search was because it wasn't in the tree but was found on the ground. Since none of us knew where it came from we picked a suitable spot and replaced it. TFTC StrangeTrousers.
We looked from all the wrong angles for quite some time. Then another couple of cachers arrived, without tools, but with excellent eyesight, and spotted it immediately from an angle we hadn't focussed on much. Nice to meet BootnBee. Thanks StrangeTrousers.
This Easter has been an adventure with a mega wedding, volcano eruption, witch hunt and tour of the deep space station!Hard to spot with the glowing sun!Well done to fisherman RoamingHowie to hook line and sign the log!signed as Team GPORK Geoturtle Papi OzHockeyChick RoamingHowie And me!
GT37 was regretting mentioning this cache when RoamingHowie made the find. He had an interesting retrieval method but he got the cache down. It had taken quite some time to locate as the sun was getting low and we were sort of in a hurry. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.
We had been looking for some time and I was regretting pointing us to this cache when RoamingHowie came up with the goods. He made it worst before he made good, but make good he did and the cache was soon in our hands. Thanks for placing this cache for all to enjoy.
Day #7 Geobashing We were off to the Deep Space Tour today as well the CITO so targeted specific Canberra caches along the way with OzHockeyChick, kristysadventures, papi4506 and GeoTurtle37. Signed as GPORK.With the sun low and in our face this was hard to spot but we got there. Retrieval was just as hard as I flicked it and hooked it elsewhere. Finally retrieved and replaced.A big thanks goes to StrangeTrousers for taking the time to add Flying High #5 to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Why not check out the geocaching lists available on the [Geocaching Victoria Website](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/). There are plenty to choose from including all of the previous nominees and winners of the Victorian Cache of the Year Awards.
Canberra Geobash Road Trip 2024. Day Seven: Deep Space tour at Tidbinbilla, with a few targetted caches either side. We had a few minutes to spare on the way to the cito, so stopped here to look for this cache. This took some time, as the camo blended in very well and the 5 oclock sun was annoying. Eventually the cache was spotted, retrieved and returned. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, StrangeTrousers ~~
As we approached this one, Boot commented that perhaps it's where the car is! We pulled up totally underprepared. Luckily we were able to join forces for a great team effort to find, retrieve and replace the cache. *The generic bit*Found on our way home to Victoria from the Canberra GeoBash Mega event. Had a great time finding a great range of caches and meeting lots of lovely people. Thanks to the organisers, volunteers, sponsors and COs.
Spent an hour yesterday with no luck spotting cache. Came back today with more eyes. Spotted the high flying container quickly today. Retrieval was easy. Replacement took longer. This was my first time tree fishing.
I'd only been led down this road to follow Loci to the trad at the end of it, although after running into heymissjo and The Welder we had a quick chat and parted ways. After patching up my leg following a run-in with some barbed wire at the previous trad, I hopped back in the car, looked in my rear-view mirror and... hmmmm, why is hmj's car parked about 150m behind me?It was then that I realised I hadn't actually checked the map in this area properly, and there was a 1.5/4.5 right here too!Ahhh, the olden days when tree fishing was a high-terrain activity!I joined the others once again to scope things out until they eventually laid eyes on the prize (pretty impressive given how well that colour works with the tree). The pole went up and the cache came down with some expert maneuvering from The Welder! All was returned to its right place and we parted ways again - for real, this time! Thanks to StrangeTrousers for placing this one here!
Wooo hoo 2nd time it was easy.Don't know how we didn't spot it the first time. Some good clues from the CO probably helped. Fun time.Tftc
Well that was fun! Especially putting it back!! My first 1.5x 4.5 find. Here from Orange with the Roos! Tftc
Heymissjo and I love a bit of tree fishing. And this was a D/T Heymissjo didnt have, so it was a no brainierWell, actually thats not entirely trueBrain saw us from where he was stationed 100m away and came over to see if wed caught anything. We hadnt yet, in fact we hadnt even seen the fish. But as soon as we had a target, it was hooked, tagged and released in good time. Thanks for a great excuse to chat with mates on a glorious sunny day.Happy Easter!!
#1859Super excited to be attending GeoBash shenanigans this weekend with my Welder kids and puppy free thats the way we like it! Having been up here 18 months ago we had a fairly good idea what we were going to target this time tick some boxes in some more challenges, pick up some new surrounding LGAs, target some oldies and find some new shiny ones! Thanks to all involved in Mega for putting such a great event and also for ordering the perfect weather! Thanks for the cache! A nice new DT for me and some laughs with Brain who also stopped to collect with us.
Mega day - started with a walk up Little Black Mountain and an exploration of the burn-off area. Followed by picking up caches of interest around the city and of course a quick visit to the mega. Importantly, the day was topped off with a rather nice beer and pub meal! This took me far too long to spot! TFTC.
08:58Having visited the site on 29th, we were back with the information needed to access this cache. In our look the previous day we did not see any ants. However, today they were out in ful force, so while Suscoe did the 'fishing', Phetlern played ant guard. Cache log signed and returned.Came back a few minutes later and played the same tune again to help 'pood' access the log. Thanks to StrangeTrousers for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.36851
Wow - those bull ants!!?? ??????????We bumped into some fellow cachers down the road and great to be able to put a smiley here ??Another trip across the Nullarbor and we have finally made it!!Our trek to the Capital Geobash in Canberra, from our home town of Busselton, WA, via a few minor deTours.Where we wander, the places we go, the people we meet always make for an amazing adventure while we geocache.A big thanks to the COs for making our journey all the more interesting:-)TFTC
Another delightful day in Canberra, started out a bit foggy and then out came the sunshine. We were enjoying the variety of hides that we were finding.Suscoe found this one with Phetlern. Thanks to StrangeTrousers for this hide.It was hard to see and the ants were very friendly.
I'm out and about with HansandLinda and Wollaston today to have an adventure or two and collect a few Canberra caches. We stopped for this one since we all enjoy tree fishing and although I had a go at getting it down, a sudden attack of the biggest ruddy ants I've ever seen put me off my game so it was Wollaston who did the retrieval and return. He received lots of advice from us all while he did it though ??Thanks for find #5864TNLN
TFTC StrangeTrousers your cache Flying High #5 that we found today. Our first full day at the Canberra Mega.Out with Wollaston and MeandDe aiming for the tunnel caches in the area. While out we also found other caches as we passed by.Find Count: 19261 .
After a week of caching around Adelaide incorporating The Great Leap Forward event, HansandLinda, MeandDe and I traveled to Canberra for the Easter Capital GeoBash Mega. After arriving at Canberra, a plan was hatched to capture some targeted caches today. So this was one (or one along the route). Another great day for caching. TFTC StrangeTrousers
#7413 Our Australia Day long weekend caching road trip continues. Today we will concentrate on Canberra, chasing high DTs and various challenge requirements.Today were also going for a challenge close to home, 25 unique DT squares in a day- if we cant do it in Canberra it isnt possible I think!DNF avenged! At the cost of another of our poles lives! We had to buy another roll of 100-mile-an-hour tape to keep it working! Thanks for the cache!
#7413Day 3/4 of our Australia Day caching weekend. Canberra -> Canberra Today is our first full day of caching in Canberra, and when I say there is plenty to keep us busy, I mean it! Were doing a day trying to qualify for a challenge near home, along with approaching our 4th and 5th DT loop. This one was a struggle. Took ages to spot at first, but then we saw it out of the corner of our eyes. The cache had gone over the branch, but wrapped over another branch, and after about 10 minutes of aimlessly whacking it to try and flip it, it hooked on and went back over, YES! Easyish fish from there, then a pretty simple return as well. TNLN SLTFTC StrangeTrousers
Heading back into Canberra after a very busy weekend, and I felt the need to stop, revive, survive. Recalling there was a tree fishing cache in Bellenden Street, I pulled in there. At GZ I had eyes on the cache quite quickly, and very soon thereafter my name was in the log. (BTW - the log is at approximately 75% capacity). Replacement took a little longer than retrieval, but was soon back in place. Feeling re-invigorated, I continued on my journey.TFTC, StrangeTrousers!
Found this one a few weeks ago but must have forgotten to log. Parked real close by and quickly had the cache in hand and back in place just before the muggles walked past. TFTC.
Got the TOTT out of the car and put it to good use with goingplaces2. Replaced as found before leaving. TFTC.
Flying high, but thankfully not too high. Managed to reach this one with ilook4geo, retrieve it and sign the log. Thanks for the cache placement go to StrangeTrousers.
12274 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1140 in company with fizzgig&lyric. There was a muggle parked nearby on his phone. As soon as the TOTT came out he was gone. SL Tnx StrangeTrousers. A FP from us.
Out on a caching morning with baby&Mrs gopher and realized we hadn’t put a smiley face on this one. Once spotted cache was soon in hand with baby’s TOTT and replaced accordingly. TFTC!
My first attempt at one of these, and armed with the appropriate equipment, I soon had cache in hand. Thanks for the cache StrangeTrousers
Scrapped together a pole long enough out of some sticks and a walking cane and a hiking stick and it was long enough to grab it and put it back. TFTC
Found before Wednesday night multi-sport. Road was nice and quiet this evening and had some lovely views of the sun setting over the hills. Some kangaroos were around though which was a bit of a fright whilst driving. Quickly spotted, retrieved and replaced at GZ whilst avoiding the ants. Nice and quick TOTT cache, love it! TFTC ST!
After some hard work in the last couple of weeks I rewarded myself with an extra day of caching. As I was in Canberra anyway I worked on my d/t grid and did a lot of adventure labs. Good fun and great weather!

After a recent attempt on another tree fishing cache we had lost the top portion of our TOTT … left dangling in a tree, so…we were very happy to try our new repaired unit out again.
Fortunately, it worked well here, and we made a quick retrieval and return to the same spot.
Thanks StrangeTrousers

Unfortunately no TOTT with me today. I can clearly see it, just couldn’t get to it.
Mr Minion and I headed down to Canberra for the weekend. The weather was perfect and we had a nice day today . Parked at GZ and used our tott for a quick retrieval and replace. Thanks for the cache tnln replaced as found sl
Doing a bunch of ACT caches for a few days. TFTC.
Great to get another one of these. I do enjoy them except if they exceed my TOTT, which it didn't.

#786 Always keen for some tree fishing! Saw this one on the map nearby where we would be caching this afternoon and decided to give this one a crack. Arrived at GZ and had the area to myself which is always a positive when deploying the pole. The cache was soon spotted and the tool was ready to go. After a bit of footing readjustment the cache was soon down to my level. Thanks Strangetrousers for placing and maintaining this hide
Wow, that was a tough one.
Luckily my brother was in attendance as he had the right tools. He was wearing some pretty strange trousers though..
Great cache спасибо большое

Find #2 for this Sunday cycle. It was a good day for fishing, as we made reasonably quick work of the retrieve and replace manoeuvre here (even despite the wind and rain). It was also nice to tick one of this series and check another D/T combination off our remaining list. TFTC StrangeTrousers (our pants-themed relative )
A freezing day to be out running around but lovely to pick this one up today. We got it down without too much trouble but struggled a bit in the wind getting it back up. Soon sorted and back into the car to warm up.
Thanks for getting me out and about StrangeTrousers

Julie and I picked up this cash today after grabbing some caches nearby with Barb and Isopeda. Such a cold wind blowing we were glad to make a quick find and retrieval and run back to the cars. Thanks for hiding and maintaining this cache StrangeTrousers
Nobody around this afternoon so it was a nice relaxed search for this one. I spied the cache fairly quickly and had it signed/replaced in no time. TFTC and the fun.
Find #5125
Making the most of enjoying what's left of a short lived summer and rapidly diminishing daylight saving to make some finds. Many have been on my solved pile for some time and with prolonged work commitments due to COVID I've just not had the spare time to do much caching at all as I've been working such long hours.
Consequently nor have I been on my favourite eMTB for many weeks, or to my favourite Namadgi for lots of bushwalks over the summer months. So having to make do squeezing in some urban caching for a quick walk here and there, or even more conveniently drive by caching. Caching is caching right, and thank goodness it comes in so many forms to suit practically every occasion life throws at us.
And so it goes, just happy to pick up caches such as this one. Thanks to StrangeTrousers for putting out and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment!

Yes. Lots of reaching to get this one but it came in the end. As usual getting it back up was hardest.

This was Himself's first experience fishing. We bought a new pole here and were worried it was not long enough but all good. Delighted to fill a hole in the grid. thanks!
#12086 - 11:02:00 AM; Another caching mission today with Sol de lune to top up today's numbers and grab a multi. Second stop and a bit more work to spot the cache, with the breeze and a sticky loop impeding our efforts. It was Sdl who eventually got the cache to ground for signing. Again the breeze made the return quite interesting, but we got there in the end. TFTC StrangeTrousers
Next stop on our fishing pole cache run the area and this was another that took a bit of time. Had the cache in hand after a short time, but getting it back was a bit harder. The wind came up played havoc with the pole. Patience was our friend though and eventually the cache was back and ready for the next finders.
Thanks for another one ST.....

Time to finally grab this cache!
I originally visited it a long time ago to suss it out but didn't have a tool with me that time, and haven't gotten around to getting back to it! Was out with DSD and it was on the way back home from a walk, so stopped by better prepared!
I knew where the cache was from spotting it from the ground many moons ago, and the retrieve / replace was fairly straight forward thanks to it's good placement and construction
Thanks StrangeTrousers

Used my new 13 meter Tree fishing pole to grab this cache today. Signed dsd or Adventure Boys to save space in the logbook thanks for the cache and the adventure.

Given we were in the area and properly armed, Turtle284 and I decided to tackle this cache. Wasn't too long before we had retrieved the cache and had the log signed.

Having completed another fishing expedition not too far away, Injuryman and I decided to have a look here. After a short search Injuryman spotted the fish. Tool deployed and CIH. Logged and replaced. Thanks again StrangeTrousers!
Got out the ToTT and got to work spotting it, it took awhile but then came the problem of gettting it down. Took awhile, then signed and put back. TFTC ST!
What fun. Got it this time. Came back for another go after a nice lunch and chat all things caching with StrangeTrousers.
This is even more fun than fly fishing.

While half of Canberra's geocachers were socialising in Temora I had opted for a day at home and doing some housework. After I had caught up on some TV programs on iview, I thought it was time to get a daily cache and why not get one (or two) that would fit in an empty space in my D/T loop.
This one seemed a good fit for a Sunday, aka muggle free area. Lo and behold a tradie turned into Bellenden St in front of me and I was cursing him while following him slowly. He did a U-turn at the turning circle. Seems he had believed google maps, which is getting sillier and sillier with their route suggestions.
Cache was spotted quickly, TOTT deployed and cache retrieved, signed and repositioned easily.
Should have also brought my binoculars as there were lots of birds around this afternoon.

It took a while for me to spot this one as I did multiple orbits around the tree. Once spotted, the catch and return went quite well. I still think that the return is often the trickiest part. TFTH
A nice afternoon outing with Dino, there was a bit of rain on the horizon, just a dribble at first but we had to cut our caching mission short. doing some nice caches in the area which I had left to do with Dino.
Quick find and retrive, all in good order.
Dino linkes these hide and did a good job in the wind and drizzle.
Thank you StrangeTrousers for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Yeah, I am glad I know someone with the right equipment for these. Having said that, I am a dab hand at these hides.
Found with Sophiescout on our second attempt, and once found the retrieve wasn’t too hard but the return did take some time especially with the wind swirling around. Cache stamped and securely replaced we are on our way to the next. TFTC
Aussiepuschaks and I played around with this one for a while, only spotting it on our second attempt though it was good to use our TOTT. TFTC
As with Flying High #6, this took two visits as my bright, new, shiny, home made TOTT was not up to the job. All good in the end. Thanks StrangeTrousers
Well didn’t that take some concentration! Did some below circle work to spot the cache. With that sorted I had to extend my rod to the maximum and then try to angle it just right to loop it on my hook. After several goes it managed to snare it. Luckily, as one descent a big gust of wind came and blew my rod around like you wouldn’t believe. Cache down and the signing duties taken care of, I waited for the wind to die down a little before attempting replacement.
In mid replacement just as I was almost in the correct positions car came past. However I was so close to getting it on I couldn’t even be bothered to break concentration. I sure there was nothing unusual to see, just a lady on her own with a massive fishing pole in the tree. As I heard the car go back shortly after I figured they considered me a crazy and made a quick getaway!
Returned to its lofty heights, I’m off to another.

I decided to be brave and have a go alone seeing as I was right there. Took a few minutes but managed to retrieve, sign and replace. Tftc
After reading the description, we pulled up just to have a look, but couldn't even see it!
The original plan was a walk in some of the high country but with some road closures it was changed to GOM's going to the ACT and Yass for a few day walks and caches. PPE, Crash 2079 and myself completed the CBR WIG's in the morning and headed over here in the afternoon, to make a couple of finds on the trip to Yass.
More pole work here and this one took a bit to spot and to hook not helped that we keep doing them in the afternoon when there is more wind.
We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Day 3 of caching in the Canberra and Yass regions with a couple of grumpy old mates. Today the plan was to collect the CBR WIG series and do a spot of fishing. Things mostly went to plan.
Having completed the WIG series, it was time to finally do some fishing. Our master angler was on his best game and had pulled in a great catch by the end of the day.

After this morning’s T5 CITO Brad was lucky enough to spend some time caching with ZQX.
One involved some serious wading. Although when the water is over your head I am not sure it is still "wading"
As we own over 15 of these cache types in SA and elsewhere we were keen to try some of the local ones. This was one of about six for the day. Including one while leaving for Sydney.
All of them were spotted fairly quickly and with the experience of hiding and maintaining a few at home the retrieval and replacements were largely uneventful
The main problem was when Brad's phone did a hard factory reset while in his pocket towards the end of the day and the days cachign record was lost. Fortunately with ZQX's help we were able to recall where we had been.
Thanks very much StrangeTrousers

Found with AngelG27, TikvaNZ, ZQX and Fox in Jox on a Saturday morning mission to collect a few interesting caches. Always fun to travel in a pack! This one required some McGivering on the run. TFTC:)
Cache 6835 on 28 Nov 2020.
An early morning mission with the amigos- Fox in Jox, TikvaNZ and ZQX, and coming along as my safety coordinator was Bobl27. The last amigos mission, I ended up being sconed, and I was probably not safe to drive after a another late night (early morning) of work! Five caches for me this morning, a few more or less for the others. Then home for a shower and a nap!
Fourth one of the morning. ZQX had left us by now, so a slightly smaller group. A wire around a branch had us thinking there was a problem with the cache, but then Bobl27 spotted the cache in a slightly different spot. TikvaNZ retrieved the cache, Bobl27 and Fox fashioned a tool from some found wire to help return the cache, which Bobl27 did shortly thereafter. Phew! Good work all around.
Thanks StrangeTrousers for the cache and the fun!

On a morning mission with Team FATZ and Bobl27.
Interestingly we spied a piece of wire around a branch and for 5 min were convinced that was the remains of the cache, until Bobl spied the cache in a much more obvious spot. TikvaNZ deployed his TOTT and did the retrieval, then Bobl got into the act and performed a sterling job of replacing. TFTC ST

An early morning mission with AngelG27, Bobl27, Fox in Jox and ZQX to beat the heat and grab a few higher D/T caches together. This took a while to find. Eventually Bobl27 spotted it. I managed to dislodge it from its perch, and Bobl27 deftly returned it as found. TFTC.

Sunday was a much dryer day, sunny even. I joined Fitzy_1965, MinnieK and Sui_001 for another attempt at a day of tree fishing. With much more success today.
After some of the difficulties yesterday, I brought my small binoculars. I only found the cache first twice during the day, but this was one of them. Fitzy did the pole duties most of the time today and it all seemed quite easy, it even went backup up on the second go.
Thanks for the cache StrangeTrousers

21,863. Found with minniek and albida33 today during a caching run around Canberra.
Headed into Canberra (again) for more fun caching adventures including the 'An Afternoon At The Races' Community Celebration Event. I had borrowed the required TOTT for this type of cache hide (special thanks to Aquilus1) and so the fun began. It only took a few attempts before I'd snagged the cache. Signed the log, then a few more attempts and the cache was back in place - Phew !
Thanks StrangeTrousers !! Awesome fun and nicely set up.

With another CC event in Canberra today, fitzy_1965 and I were lured in for a bit of caching.
Teamed up with Albida33 and later, Sui_001 for a day of fun.
fitzy_1965 had borrowed a pole for us to try some fishing this weekend. This was our first and surprisingly rather quick.

Chooo ooo [Found] - with dty73 and Sui001! - We had just done the Sui cache nearby, and walked over to this one! Surprisingly (or maybe not) we ran into Sui at this time! So a combined effort at this cache! Thanks StrangeTrousers!
Had spotted a parked car from just down the road where I was finishing up a nearby find. As I drove past I spotted a familiar TOTT poking up in the air, ah yeah that's right, a fishing cache was here (currently not focusing on them as I don't have an extendable pole). Pulled over to the side of the road where Pacmania had just retrieved the cache. Well, was happy to help in whatever duties remained, including replacing the hide. After a quick sign of the log I passed it back to PM but before I knew it PM had the cache back in place. The dude's seriously got a steady hand and a mean pole. Had a quick chat before continuing on our separate caching ways. TNLNSL TFTC
A slow start to the morning, so headed out here to have a look. Cache spotted and retrieved OK for a change. Iamcoust turned up and shared the find and a chat. Replaced OK.
Thanks,
Thanks,
You'd think after about a dozen of these I would be proficient at returning the cache. Alas there was no evidence of any proficiency today. Several attempts were required. In fact immediately after signing the log I wondered if I could remember where exactly I found it. There were a number of options. Looking up, I recognised the right location, and then the fun began. Glad there was nobody around to laugh at me.

Received a shout out from the FFLL ladies inviting me along for some Sunday caching around the ACT, sure I would like that We didn't really have any plans, just decided to go where ever our driver took us so off we went. The rain held off for us, a couple sprinkles here and there but nothing to get us wet, the real rain came after we had dinner.
It was very windy today, so probs doing fishing caches wasn't the best idea, but hey, it was tonns of fun and HEAPS of laughter involved. Another one where we had no issues getting it down, it was the replacement which caused fits of laughter and took quite sometime to achieve lol
Thanks for the cache placement StrangeTrousers, love the fishing caches and thanks to the FFLL ladies for another fun filled day out and about.
