Find #8,999 for me, on 23 Nov 2024 11:26am. The weather was Light Rain 26C 40% 3 m/s . Found with PamJ during our stay in Millicent. We Victorians were barred from attending the Mega during the Covid period, so this is a catchup visit to Millicent and the surrounding area. Absolutely no way to find this from the lawn, you need to follow the geo trail in the garden. Thanks Kellmik for your contribution to the game. *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

If the hint is correct, then the cache is not in the right place, as there is no way to get to GZ without walking in the garden!Coords were good however.TNLNSL Thanks

I couldn't find it. Initially searched "Not walking into the garden" but after reading other logs "walked into the garden" but still couldn't find it. Maybe it was hidden under all the garden mulch. I wasn't going to search through it with my bare hands, so gave up.

Thanks for bringing me here though.

Hunting GZ, we met a friendly little fellow with a tongue that would put Gene Simmons to shame. RazzTwisted

Home again, Home again Jiggity Jig. Smile
Now comes the big job of logging all our accomplishments. Red Face

Our extra long weekend adventure revolved around catnap777 and I making it to a CITO in Adelaide, caching our way there and back through as many counties new to us as possible. We also targeted challenge caches and anything that would help us qualify for them. Twisted
Leaving Tatura early Friday morning, we followed the coast up from Warnambool to stay in Millicent that night, Adelaide on Saturday, and back through the guts to Edenhope Sunday night to be back home for rostered work 3:00pm on Monday. Razz
All up we picked up over 100 very targeted caches including this trad, our first in this county. [^]

TFTC Kellmik. Smile The cache is in good condition, but the clue is no longer relevant and somewhat misleading. Red Face

Cache found and log signed with dalerious Razz.

I hope my partner remembers to post his photo of the Blue Tongue Lizard we saw whilst looking for this cache.

Your hint had us looking in the wrong area at first. I wonder if the cache has suffered cache creep.

Thank you kellmik for helping us tick off another county.

The long weekend in Victoria had us planning a trip to Mount Kosciuszko, but there was no available accommodation in Jindabyne, so that plan was thwarted. Our South Australia and Western Victoria trip was then brought forward very quickly, and a plan was hatched that had a complete and varied list of things we were looking to achieve. It was tentative, as the list kept growing exponentially as it tends to do with us Big Grin.
The map that we created with the caches we were hunting was broad, and a lot of miles were travelled to find them, but we are definitely not complaining.
The country we drove through was spectacular Cool.

We left Tatura early Friday morning, not sure how much we could achieve before heading to Millicent to our booked accommodation, and then onto Adelaide after that.

We still can't believe that we found almost every cache on that extensive list. We even got to attend a CITO in Adelaide. How cool was that.

We had an awesome 4 days away enjoying this beautiful country of ours.

This one has caused me grief several times from not being able to locate it to events muggling my chances away. Today I was determined and after reading other logs of easy, first place I looked.... I looked and looked and was about to call another DNF when I spotted something that didn't quite fit the hint and finally managed to get my name in the logbook. Why did that take so long?

Thanks Kell

Saturday the official start of the 2021 Millicent Mega event. today was filled with a few caches before meeting others up for some power trailing then heading out in to the forests for some more caches. The weather today was filled with rain off and on but that didn't stop me and Mogni. I was glad we had the 4x4 instead of Mogni car for the trip.

Day 2 of the Mega weekend. Owl took Bowerbird for a day of caches, conversation, pathtags and general fun. It was somewhat soggy but with plenty of caches to choose from they drove when it was raining and cached when it was not. This was the first of the day and a familiar location as the Hall had hosted a family reunion when there was a different cache there. Owl didn't read the instructions so it took a while to find.

SA Mega weekend with sir_spectre, a huge weekend of catchups and hunting geocaches. At different times over the 5 day weekend we joined up with other teams caching as either the misfits or mystery randoms depending on the numbers of people and who organised.
Unfortunately the weather was very typical of the south east and put many teams off exporing the forests and some great creative caches were only found by a few teams.
For me this was a little bit different than for others as I lived in the south east for 15 years and worked in Penola, Millicent and Mount Gambier. Strangely this also meant I kept running into people I knew each day.
Lots of wildlife seen, wombats, echidnas, snakes, kangaroos and wallabies. Luckily the snakes in particular kept leaving the paths as we were walking.
Thanks to the Mega committee for all of their hardwork organising and the many locals who have placed and maintained caches (this includes me Smile)
Thanks to Kellmik from mogni Smile

Day 4: Today was spent traveling about doing a lot of lab caches before ending up at the show grounds for the Welcome to Country event. Big Grin If anything was else came across our paths during the day you will find some comments

Here.. Quick find once we got the correct side of the fence! SurprisedSmile

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. Twisted So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. Cool That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]

***Thanks Kellmik for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

Found on a caching weekend in the South East with CPwanderer and clare007.

Great idea for a series.

We had a service on the car booked in Mt Gambier and were eating breakfast in Millicent when we saw this new series of caches come through.

We threw our coffees down the sink, left the dishes and headed off to see if we could get a couple of FTF’s before our appt.

Being short of time we didn’t look for too long at this one so quickly abandoned the search and headed for the next one.

Many thanks anyway Kellmik

*FTF* First to Find joint with jesswrigley at 09:16 hr.

This weekend, jesswrigley and I headed to the limestone coast / south-east for some sightseeing, mountain biking, and sinkhole diving. On Friday night, we stayed at Robe, seeing the famous obelisk the following morning. We then drove through Little Dip Conservation Park to Beachport, then Rendelsham, Hatherleigh, and staying in Millicent. On Sunday, we checked out Tantanoola and the Tantanoola Caves, mountain biked through Mount Gambier Forest and Browns Lake area, and finally on Monday, we dived Kilsby Sinkhole before driving back Telford Scrub Conservation Reserve and Penola. A great long weekend of sunny weather.

Today, jesswrigley and I started the day with a Mount Gambier breakfast event, as well as finding a few FTFs. We then experienced scuba diving Kilsby Sinkhole, and then started driving north back home. We stopped off at Telford Scrub Conservation Reserve, mountain biking a few of the replaced caches and those that I didn't find during the last visit. We also stopped off at Penola for that Adventure Lab, as well as a few stops within the Coonawarra area.

We couldn't believe that we had driven right past this location on our way to the breakfast event! I don't have a watch on the south-east region here, so I normally just rely on luck, so perhaps I should setup some notifications. I only realised that a few FTFs had been published at our breakfast, and so once that was completed, we made our way back to this location. I hunted around for a fair bit, and although the hint is correct, it is still hidden in a spot that risks some damage. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, as to be expected having found this one first. Thanks Kellmik for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.
