We tried to do this cache yesterday but the tide was too high. Today I stopped on the way to our next camp and made the slow walk around to the hill. I wondered if anyone would help me if I slipped on the slimy rocks and broke my ankle, thankfully I didnt need to find out . Epic spot for a cache, which was located quickly.I did ponder over the puzzle I knew what I was trying to find but just not how to a massive head slap moment when it suddenly dawned on me. TFTC

Having solved this puzzle quiet some time ago, the Viking family finally set off on our journey to this cache. The sun was shining when we embarked down the trail but seconds in, the sky turned on us and a light sprinkle of rain started to fall on us.We slowly made our way to the GZ and very soon realised that Viking Dad had struck again. Would you look at that it's high tideViking mum laughed as Viking dad realised waders would have been a better idea than his undiesAfter a longer than needed search and Viking Dad wetter than he should have been the Log was signed and laughter rang out through the area Thank you so much for this very different cache at a beautiful site.Favourite point from us for sure

Like others before us, we parked at Martins Road to start our trek to GZ. We used the bush track for a bit but as it closed in we made our way down to the rocks. There was one quit slippery but but the rest of the walk was most enjoyable. We rounded the point in anticipation but had to wait a bit longer to see our goal. After taking lots of pictures, we stepped over to find the cache.
A great location for a cache, and a perfect day to us to find it,
Thanks sammyd3741

Myself and the goose had looked at this cache a number of times, a couple of those we even looked at finding the best access, today with the tide being helpful we parked in our choosen location and started our walk to GZ.

This location was well worth the walk with both myself and goose enjoyed looking at the hulk that was there, thank you for bringing me here.

After last weekends bit trip we went with something a little closer to home, with either the Mountain or Margate on the cards, Margate won out with the wether making the choice for us.
After parkrun I picked up goose after calling for coffee, next stop was down near Trial Bay where we started collecting a few caches out this way.
A nice day out with a bit of everything including a good sized snake, second one in two weeks we have seen.

Thanks for the cache.

Found on a trip from South Australia to Tasmania, mainly to visit family and friends and to also find a few caches.

I remember that I was on a previous visit to Tasmania and Bruny Island when this cache was published. I solved it within a couple of minutes, but the body of water between me and GZ was a bit of an impediment. By the time I was leaving the island, I didn't have time to get to the cache, so left it for another visit.

Today I left Bruny Island and made my way down the channel before heading back up to Hobart, finding a few caches of interest along the way, including this one.

I enjoyed the walk out to the cache, where it was a quick find. The container and contents are in reasonable condition.

Thanks sammyd3741 for the puzzle and the cache.

Hello sammyd3741 thank you for the cache

The tide was very low today so I had a lovely walk, a little slipery in spots.

A nice puzzle.

This is what I love about caching.

Found and signed while on a 10 day Geocaching holiday with my love doing what we love doing most. [:X]
Seeking this cache was my favourite mini adventure of our entire Tassie trip chasing the best of the best. Big Grin

A few words of advice for anyone thinking of going after this cache.....
Make sure you bring with you waders (in colder months), a knife capable of shucking Oysters, an appetite and a favourite point.
We needed them all. RazzTwisted

We were chased South a little early by the weather, so my partner catnap777 and I just set up camp in Hobart and beyond for a little while longer which suited us just fine.Cool We had a lot of geocaching business down there and were keen to find out just how far South this game would take us. [^]

TFTC sammyd3741. Big Grin Fav added. [^]

As cat' and I made our way back from GZ, I was reminded of a Lewis Carroll poem I once heard. The following is an exert from "Walrus and the Carpenter" that I stole and bastardised for my own amusement. Twisted

The Dalerious and the Catnap777

O Oysters, come and walk with us!'
Dalerious did beseech.
'A pleasant walk, a pleasant talk,
Along the pebbled beach:
We cannot do with more than four,
To give a hand to each.'

The eldest Oyster looked at him,
But never a word he said:
The eldest Oyster winked his eye,
And shook his heavy head —
Meaning to say he did not choose
To leave the oyster-bed.

But four young Oysters hurried up,
All eager for the treat:
Their coats were brushed, their faces washed,
Their shoes were clean and neat —
And this was odd, because, you know,
They hadn't any feet.

Four other Oysters followed them,
And yet another four;
And thick and fast they came at last,
And more, and more, and more —
All hopping through the frothy waves,
And scrambling to the shore.

Dalerious and the Catnap
Walked half a mile or so,
And then they rested in a wreck
Conveniently low:
And all the little Oysters stood
And waited in a row.

The time has come,' dalerious said,
To talk of many things:
Of shoes — and ships — and sealing-wax —
Of cabbages — and kings —
And why the sea is boiling hot —
And whether pigs have wings.'

But wait a bit,' the Oysters cried,
Before we have our chat;
For some of us are out of breath,
And all of us are fat!'
No hurry!' said catnap.
They thanked her much for that.

A loaf of bread,' dalerious said,
Is what we chiefly need:
Pepper and vinegar besides
Are very good indeed —
Now if you're ready, Oysters dear,
We can begin to feed.'

But not on us!' the Oysters cried,
Turning a little blue.
After such kindness, that would be
A dismal thing to do!'
The day is fine,' dalerious said.
Do you admire the view?

It was so kind of you to come!
And you are very nice!'
Catnap said nothing but
Cut us another slice:
I wish you were not quite so deaf —
I've had to ask you twice!'

It seems a shame,' dalerious said,
To play them such a trick,
After we've brought them out so far,
And made them trot so quick!'
Catnap said nothing but
The butter's spread too thick!'

I weep for you,' dalerious said:
I deeply sympathize.'
With sobs and tears he sorted out
Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes.

O Oysters,' said catnap,
You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none —
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one."

Puzzle solved, wreck and log found with dalerious Razz.

We donned our waders and utterly enjoyed the journey to this cache.
Exploring and eating oysters along the way.
This cache had us chomping at the bit and we couldn't wait to undertake the journey. The excitement was building up and the day finally came to find this truly memorable cache.

Thank you sammyd3741 for providing and maintaining this cache which was found in good condition Big Grin.

A favourite point given.

A nice and easy puzzle solved a while ago using the interesting and apt information. Today we decided to head down to the area caching. With a fairly high tide the going was quite difficult and slow but we got there in the end...eventually. However, with less than 50 metres to go, an angry pitbull dog confronted us, and then proceeded to chase us away. I think we were very lucky it didn't attack!
In the nearby field, a farmer was pulling in a boat with his tractor, so we decided to wait, well away from the attention of his dog! We waited, and waited, and waited... Probably for more than an hour but eventually he left, with his dog. Thankfully the tide had also dropped considerably during our time waiting, which helped things a lot! We arrived at GZ, took many photos, and admired the location before searching for the cache, which turned out to be an easy find and a great hide too!
By the time the duties were carried out, the return journey was much easier with the tide now a lot lower.
We love it when caching takes us to places like this that we would never have known about otherwise. TFTC!
Cheers,
The Hancock Clan

I like these kind of puzzles Smile
This was the last cache for me to find today. Parked in the previously suggested spot and made my way to GZ.

Today we decided to head from Snug - Cygnet and surrounds to find a few more caches that we have not found and to make them a smilie. A great day out, not too cold, sun out allowed us to enjoy the great outdoors.

Having solved this puzzle earlier we made our way round the coast after parking at whitewebbs co-ords. Well what a sight we saw, a well worth cache to see! Spent some time here going through the rusted hull. Cache and contents were in excellent condition and adding to our favourites.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Today we decided to venture south to get a few caches before a nice milestone. The weather looked great and we mapped out a few interesting caches that we had either avoided in the past or they have appeared since our last visit in this area.

We had solved this puzzle when it was first published but due to other problems we were not able to get to GZ till now! We used the parking coords that whitewebbs stated and walked from there. Interesting terrain and we weren’t too sure whether to go high or low but we got there in the end. Great location and great puzzles. Thanks for bringing us here.

Today we headed to Bruny Island to do the Adventure Lab cache at Adventure Bay and Mr W wanted to check out the GZ for this cache prior to boarding the ferry while the tide was low. A nice walk along the shoreline was rewarded with a great GZ . Deserves a favourite. Enjoyed the puzzle as well. We parked at S43 09.184 E147 14.536 at the end of Martins Road.

Hi sammyd3741,
TFTC,
First find for 2021! Found with EeePees, Davinells and the rest of the crew. I enjoyed the nice walk and a nice surprise at the end. As EeePees mentioned, logbook needs some attention. But in good condition otherwise.
Thanks again,
KingSmev,

hi sammyd3741 - unfortunately the logbook is falling apart.
the pages are separating and could be lost in the wind.

it really needs fastening to assist the gum to keep it together - maybe a staple, rubberband, paper clip or even a twist tie.

cheers Smile

First find for 2021.
Great walk with bonus at the end.
Found with KingSmev, and (jnr)Davinells who is visiting from Queensland.
Nice easily solved puzzle.

Great placement of the container and a beautiful location.

Amazing!
Simple elegant puzzle, an adventure, and a superb GZ.
What all geocaches should be like.
Love it - thanks.

Added later (trying not to give spoilers): I asked Mrs RC to come along, and she was keen (we haven't cached much together for some time), so we found what looked like the best place to park and then headed off. After a while we took the low road rather than the high, and it proved to be quite difficult given the time of day, but it added to the adventure.
GZ was absolutely worth the effort (and there was a little extra there given the time of day).
On the way back we took a higher path while only briefly being the wrong side of the line, and that was much quicker and easier.

Some time to spare, well I thought I did, so off to Middleton to continue work on the multi. First task was to walk to this cache. Which was tricky as I think I come from the wrong direction. Anyway as I got to the hulk, found the cache and was signing the log book, I got a call from work.... can you come in and help for a couple of hours....ok. Be back in town shortly

Really enjoyed the hiding spot, but it was a squeeze for me

Thanks for the puzzle cache sammyd3741. This was a nice little puzzle which I solved pretty quickly once it was published, at that stage a had to make a bit of a guess at the end, but I noticed that the description was soon updated.
Today, I was in the area with RLD4963 and the GeoGSP, and whilst RLD4963 rested his knee, the GeoGSP and I took a lovely stroll to GZ.
We were here at the right time of the day, and we were able to make our way to GZ without any problems. Great area to have a cache - pity it's a puzzle, otherwise there would be some great photos in the gallery. Nice quick find at GZ.

{ftf} Joint FTF with S_38. We were both trying to solve it - making it way to complicated- then remembered it was only difficulty 2 and suddenly S_38 saw it.

I am not sure if we took the right track to get here... but all what matters is that we got here. Omg omg - what an awesome location - cache! Absolute favourite from me! Thanks so much for taking us here!

Where is the checker?

02-Nov-20
gridge98, that was my first thought. Actually, you don't need one and it probably wouldn't work anyway. You will understand why once you have it solved. This really is a great little puzzle, especially for sammyd374's first cache placement. Unfortunately I'm too far away to be able to go for the FTF.

Took a bit to find what we were looking for. G that last bit was tricky. But when it clicked it just clicked. Puzzle solved and we were off, no need for any checker, it couldn't be anywhere else. Really not so sure about the T2 but maybe we came the hard way. Either way it is absolutely worth the effort. Fantastic cache, absolutely loved it, one of my favorites ever and deserves a fave point. Just jealous I didn't find it first to use as my virtual reward. Thanks sammyd3741

Congratulations to S_38 and Lekker_Ding for being the first to find our first ever hidden cache.
Nice work guys. And SUPER fast!!!
Understand the last bit would have been tricky for you given the lost content which is back in the description now.
We might have to add a waypoint at the carpark to the south which is the easiest way there.
