Last cache of the day, travelling the old road freom Mt White to Hornsby, then back again doing this AL. First one was a bit stressful, but managed it in the end. Thanks for the history lesson. Has anyuone else notice thye "F3" in the GC code. TFTC.
Managed to tackle this lab this morning- been on the to-do list for some time. Straightforward find once at GZ. TFTC!
Stopped and completed a Cache Maintenance check today.Found that the plastic bag holding the logbook was missing.Replaced missing bag and placed cache back in hiding spot.Ready for next finder to come along.Cache on. . . . .
Found It!An interesting bit of history. Didn't realise this area used to be a toll booth. The cache was a quick find while on the way to the christmas event.TFTC
TFTAL and TFTC. Now ready to go home after an enjoyable and busy few days. I was a little apprehensive about getting this as there were 2 plovers lurking and squawking . So I got in my car and drove to within 2m. They were angry birds with beaks wide open but I told them not to come near me in a stern voice. Now safe in my car. I hate plovers.
Got around to completing this AL after for some reason, I couldn’t find the blue pin drop many months ago. Maybe disabled, parked very close and further examination revealed the hide, thanks Rama497
Enjoyed the adventure lab.
Find it and sign the log as EV, and thanks for the cache and hunt.

Found this final cache after completing the adventure cache Wahroonga to Berowra. Nice little container and with no people around on a Sunday it was easy to retrieve the container and sign the log book.

Had planned DN to drive whilst I collected the AL WP’s. I wasn’t expecting the requirement to stop off at each WP. Never mind, worked out better for us anyway as we were driving up the pacific highway.
Loved the history of the toll booths.
Nice placement of a fun container at GZ.

Out caching today with Lee737, Samuel737, Banj5150 and barefootjeff , we had just finished a very long walk so decided to focus on some shorter walks in the area. We decided this AL fit the bill nicely, so planned our trip home via the waypoints. The final took a little searching before the eagle eyes of Samuel737 spotted it. Thanks for the cache Rama497 tnln replaced as found sl
Completed the AL and came over and completed the last location before a quick walk out to GZ, after an embarrassingly long search we found the container.

We were caching in the area with Mighty Minions, barefootjeff and Banj5150, after doing a near 8km walk for a virtual, we put off the next walk, deciding on a driving Adventure Lab instead.
Initially I figured we'd do the AL on the way home.... when I see 'Pacific Highway' I think of the relaxing stretch from Berowra to Gosford, this certainly took us to spots we'd probably hardly ever go to, but it was a bit of work navigating between them. We did OK in the end, with no real dramas.
After the final location we headed over to GZ as a group, combing the structure for several minutes, before checking logs to see if it had been found recently... then Samuel pulled it out from where we'd already looked!

Out for a day of caching around northern Sydney with Mighty Minions, Banj5150 and Team737. After visiting the Shark Ridge virtual and grabbing some lunch, we decided to head down to Wahroonga to work our way through this Adventure Lab. All the required information was easily found and, with the AL completed, we didn't have far to go for the bonus. The eagle eyes of Samuel737 made the find.
Many thanks for the AL and bonus.
Many thanks for the AL and bonus.
With release imminent next, time to get back into the swing with a few locals. Didn't spot this immediatley until assumiong the right position. Thanks Rama497.
Quick find once we read the hint and then found what we were looking for.
Nice adventure. Thanks for the hide.
Nice adventure. Thanks for the hide.
Scratched our heads a bit before we eventually found it. Obvious after you have got it. Thanks for the cache and the adventure lab.
Doing some adventure labs here in North Sydney and picking up some caches along the way as well. Defenitely a bit more chilly today.

And it's another calendar finds day - well to be honest, April is a calendar finds month as this is the month in which I've made the least finds. By quite a margin.
So I need to start the month with lots of finds! But where?
I haven't headed north for caches for quite a while - too few caches I either haven't solved or are higher terrain than I think I can currently manage.
But with the AL and an almost complete trail to finish, I can probably make a good afternoon out of it.
So I got the five ALs, then the bonus as I headed back south.
Found everything I went for - including a **2 Dogs** cache to end the day. Can't do better than that!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Started the day with the *M1 Motorway - Wahroonga to Berowra Section* Adventure Lab. Great way to head north towards my other targets for the day. Although given the theme is the M1 there is a lot of driving to these ALs on the Pacific Highway.
One thing I did learn on the way is that Goggle Maps really cant handle overpasses - both road and footbridges!
Found:
#7738 - Wahroonga Access
#7739 - Ku-Ring-Gai Chase Road Overpass
#7740 - Mount Kuring-gai Footbridge
#7741 - Berowra Footbridge
#7742 - Cowan Rest Area (Toll Booths)
###END OF ADVENTURE LAB SECTION###
And the final AL gave me the coordinates for this bonus cache.
Off again until I made it to GZ. And missed it on the first two scans. Then the headslap moment on the third.
Made the grab, signed and replaced. Now to head for that incomplete series!
Oh, and by the way, I still consider this the F3!

With two weekends of rain getting in the way of my more adventurous caching plans I though that it might be worth taking a driving adventure cache with the kids to check out some bridges near home.
Amazingly the rain let up for each or our adventure lab visits but bucketed down while we were in the car.
The Mount Kuring-gai pedestrian bridge was a highlight, I was happily teaching pachman about the suspension bridge and started jumping up and down to get the bridge moving much to the dismay of some pedestrians behind me.
Bonus cache found without too much trouble. The next visitors will be writing on the back of the log sheet. Beware the quagmire at GZ after heavy rain.

I needed to fill a calendar spot and remembered that I’d previously completed this adventure lab without collecting the bonus, so off I went tonight to make a quick find. It was nice to take the old car out for a night time cruise. TFTC

Good one, thanks Rama497.
Today we took a drive up the Pacific Highway, collecting caches from Killara to Berowra, with a mixture of Traditional, MultiCache, Puzzle/Mystery, and an Adventure Lab found along the route. This was the 9th of 11 finds for the day.
Missed the best (closest) parking spots at the first stage of the AL, driving straight past them before realising that we could have stopped, so continued on and did the Normanhurst SideTracked Multi, then parked in Russell Avenue on the return journey for any easy walk across at the traffic lights. All the other stages were easy stops at familiar locations, mostly having been visited for previous caches, before ending up at the old toll gate plaza. Wow it's been many many years since we stopped to pay a toll here. And with the final question answered we were presented with the final GZ coordinates of this AL Bonus cache, and so off we headed.
Soon arrived at final GZ and made a super quick find of a very familiar camo type. TNLNSL, then replaced as found. Thanks Rama497 for the Adventure Lab and this AL Bonus cache.
Finds #4445, #4446, #4447, #4449, #4450 - "M1 Motorway - Wahroonga to Berowra Section" Adventure Lab caches.
Find #4451 - This AL bonus cache.

Did this AL on the way home to the Central Coast after a day of caching in Sydney.
The first WP was a bit of a challenge parking wise but after that, I had no problems at all. It was nice to take the old highway for a change and a bit of a novelty to stop at the old toll gates ... haven't been in there forever.
Thanks for this AL and bonus cache Rama497.

Companions: None
Muggles: None
Weather: Windy summer morning
Cache condition: Good
I found the first waypoint soon after the AL was released, given it is <1km from home, but it has taken a little while to get to the remainder. Today I decided to venture northwards, so headed to each waypoint plus found a few caches on the way, until I was provided with the co-ords for the bonus. Once at GZ it didn't take too long to get CIH - TNLNSL, thanks for an interesting and unusual AL + cache.

Needed a bit of fresh air after all the Christmas celebrations so decided to track down this close-to-home AL bonus. Very familiar with all the waypoints, I quickly ended up at GZ where I took longer than expected to find the container. Checked the hint and soon had my name in the log. Still hard to believe that the old Pacific Hwy used to be the main thoroughfare leading north.

Luckily it wasn’t too far a walk in the Hart to find the Bonus.
I remember the tolls as I spent my teenage years in the Hunter.

I haven't completed the lab but drive this section daily and had a good idea of where the end might be located.
Stopped at the logical spot and the presence of some rusty tweezers confirmed my assumptions. Brewmaker I'll keep them for you. Signed and replaced. Thanks for the hide.

After completing the Adventure Lab and getting the coords I walked over to gz to grab the bonus cache. Thanks to the generous hint it was a quick find which was fortunate as the plovers were giving me a hurry up.

Lab caches are popping up all over Sydney and today, after a visit to Pymble I decided to drive the Pacific Highway for 'M1 Motorway - Wahroonga to Berowra Section', followed by 'Oyster Farmer' which started a bit further along the M1 and would take be to the nice town of Brooklyn.
After finding the five clues of the Adventure Lab, I was rewarded with the coordinates of the Bonus Cache. That was not too far away from the last AL waypoint so I decided to brave the heat and walk over to the hiding place.
Soon I had cache in hand. Thanks for the AL and the bonus cache Rama497!

This AL brought back memories of the many drives in the Kingswood up north with my family as a child. The M1 makes a big difference to travel time nowadays. The AL was easily done. TFTC
PS: I think I may have left my geotweezers at GZ, after removing the log sheet and writing up this log. If that's where I left them, then the next finder is welcome to keep them. I have another pair (if that's what tweezers are called?).

With the start point less than 1km from home I thought I would tackle this one on a warm afternoon. When I left school and moved to Sydney in the early 1980s I had to tackle this section easily a couple of times a year going back up to visit my parents on the north coast. It was a relief when the new section of the then F3 was installed. A warm afternoon which demonstrated I think the car air conditioner needs a service as it wasn't keeping me cool! Thanks Rama497.

So this was published in the morning just as we started work, well working from home in these virulent times. All through the morning this nearby unfound cache played on our (my) mind. Finally a plan was hatched - to forego lunch and start on the individual legs of the AL so that we could target the bonus later in the evening as a team. Well it did not quite work out that way, as just on lunch time another cache was published closer to home. So we targeted that one first and then tackled the AL. In the end it was a no brainer to complete the AL and find this cache by extending the lunch break. Thanks for placing the cache Rama497. The 4Rods.

This afternoon I was either going to be digging in the garden or completing this lab adventure and bonus cache. So, after lunch we drove down the M1 to Wahroonga and back home along the old highway. Having visited most of the sites before, each was soon logged and then we moved on to this bonus cache. GZ was not far from breeding plovers and we were dive bombed several times by the male as we logged. Thanks for a nice adventure and well hidden bonus cache, although I wish I had continued north on the old highway to avoid the crazy speeding drivers on the M1.
