Having come down to Bacchus Marsh for a few nights, it was time to head back home to Adelaide. The plan was, however, to spend a few days making the drive back, finding caches along the way. Todays efforts mainly consisted of targeting more caches that would help me with challenges; were situated in LGAs I had not cached in; filled uncompleted Jasmer spots; and numerous caches in between. I meandered my way along either side of the freeway, finding the desired caches before eventually calling it a night once the sun had set and I needed to find a place to stay for the night. I will always appreciate caches like this that take you to interesting locations that you may not have otherwise visited. This was a lovely spot and one definitely worth the favourite point. Despite not making much distance back to Adelaide, it was a good day of caching as the desired caches were found in some quality locations. Apologies for the generic log as I have quite a few to write following this trip.Find #9778, at 02:00 pmTFTC Smile

Found It.........With Mr H_3's holidays fast running out we decided to have a caching road trip. After pulling up we jumped out to admire the workmanship that had gone into the construction of the tank and tower. Once we waited out some muggles a quick search soon yielded the cache and with the log signed we moved onto the next one. Thanks The Tritonz for the cache

On a cache maintenance run we checked this container to find it in the wrong position. The cache should be magnetised up in the top half of the down pipe.

Out in the area for a look around and stopped off to check this one out. Didn't take too long and the cache was in hand. Log signed, cache replaced and it was off the railway station.

Thanks The_Tritonz....cache all good.

Checked on the cache today to find it still in place waiting to be found.

Quick trip, well not really, to Bendigo, yes you read that right Bendigo not Ballarat, Bendigo today. Wanted a different way to go and decided on going through Ballarat.

We've looked at this one when we first started caching and didn't mark it as anything. And now a few years a quick find (and is this ftf after it being re-enabled ).

Tftc.

Passing through today to replace the cache only to find workmen at the structure, not having any luck here

28-Jan-23
We came to replace the missing cache today to find the host has changed slightly, so the cache will now need a few modifications.

15-Jan-23
Although we didn't find the cache ( or log book as in previous logs), it was a great structure to stop and look at. Tfth

15-Jan-23
Seems the cache has gone walkabouts, will disable until we can replace.

06-Jan-23
Been meaning to get this cache for awhile now, but on the odd occasion I'm in Lal Lal I'm driving past this before I remember.
There doesn't seem to be a proper cache for this and it consisted of just the naked log book. Might need a maintenance check.

31-Dec-22
Found on the last day of the year - whilst staying nearby. Found logbook on the ground in the open - no container to be found. needs maintenance a

A creepy sort of place that would be good on halloween.

November 2022. Time for the second Victorian Mega of the year. This time in Whittlesea. What is it with W's? Time for another epic road trip. Who will join our merry crew? We traveled from South Australia and camped in the pig pen. It rained. It blew. It was sunny. It was not sunny. All four seasons. Beautiful location and some awesome caches.

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Visited this spot many years ago when there was another cache here. Today in the pouring rain we found this newer cache. The hint was excellent , but the magnetic grip was hard to break! Love this building and a favourite is given, thank you Tritonz.

After moving my daughter out of Res accommodation at Fed uni we called in to look at the Lal Lal falls after we have had so much rain. Then we called in here to find a quick cache. The mozzie's were out in force. Quickly signed the cache and jumped back in the car. TFTC

Found by The Empire + H
After a nice walk along the creek, checking out the work geocachers have been doing, planting many of these trees over consecutive CITO events, we ventured south and then west toward Lal Lal. A place we'd been before but always enjoy coming back. A quick find here, I'm sure we'd already found a cache here back in the day - good to see it a destination for geocachers. My thanks to The_Tritonz for the cache!

This one was a lot quicker to find than we anticipated! A nice quick one to finish our travels for the day.
Thanks for a great cache in a historic area that we never seem to make it to.

09-Jan-22
Today we were finally going to make it to 1000, we'd headed out this way to tick that landmark off and enjoy what the Golden Plains had to offer. We stopped here to take in the lovely quiet old town, can imagine it was much busier during the gold times. Anyway after a short search around this cool water tower we had the cache located and the logbook signing in hand. Thanks for the hide The_Tritonz

03-Jan-22
In the area today with Wozzle68 picking up a few caches here and there. I remember the previous incarnation many years ago. Good to see another cache placed here highlighting this historical feature.

03-Jan-22
This one turned out to be a lot easier to find than the old one that used to be here. Smile Thanks for this hide.

Off to a great start for 2022 - a day of finding interesting caches such as this and catching up with fellow cachers to "Kick Start" the New Year in Beaufort!

We couldn't resist a stop as we headed homeward, quite a magnificent structure.

Thanks The_Tritonz for placing caches in interesting locations for everyone's enjoyment.

Found by Mary and David at 13:50. Had to detour by here to replace our cache "The Palindromic Alchemist" on our way to Beaufort this evening. We have cached here before. A magnificent structure, a great hide, and a FP for bringing us back. Our thanks to The_Tritonz.

This is a great tower. I can almost imagine someone doing a grand designs here and converting it into a house!
Second time here as there was an older cache here once.
Easy find with the hint.
All good.

09-Oct-21
After a CITO this morning and a stroll around the Union Jack Reserve, I came out to Lal Lal for an earthcache, while here I collected a few caches in the area, this was one of them. I had a feeling of de ja vu at this location, I'm sure I've found a cache here previously.
Thanks Tritonz for the hide.

25-Aug-21
In the area today collecting milk and vegetables I diverted to grab this cache. What a great structure and an equally great, super strong cache. Thanks The Tritonz.

15-Aug-21
The sun was shining, and regional covid restrictions meant we could at least get out past our 5km zone, so we seized the day and headed out to Lal Lal to explore an area neither of us had been to before. What an amazing old historic structure, glad to see it is still here. Reading the cache description stopped Chunk from going where he shouldn't ... well sort of. TFTC The_Tritonz and for bringing us to this site.

06-Jul-21
A quick find at gz . All's good with the cache . Thanks The_Tritonz

01-Jul-21
We were on our way home after a run to Ballarat to grab a couple of smileys either side of midnight when AusFox; suggested a slight detour to grab this little one. I remember finding a cache at this very site with the family a few years ago. it was good to see a new cache being located at this iconic landmark.
As we were locating the cache AusFox went one way around and I the other to meet in the middle both heading for the same hidey hole. after a quick find we had our names in the I book and were able to continue homewood.

Thank you to the Tritons for placing a cache add such a historic Venue for us all to enjoy

01-Jul-21
After a midnight jaunt to Ballarat with SimsFamily and Dromaniax we made our way home, and as always there is time for just one more. So a quick detour was made to the familiar Lal Lal water tower.
With a quick search the cache was located, but retrieval took a little longer.
Log signed and replaced as found.

Thanks for the Traditional Cache The Tritonz

Received a message from Sims_family, asking if we were up to a midnight caching run with Ausfox;. Having never been on one, we were in. Then there was a conversation about where the caches were. Ahh, we had recently been in the area finding another cache, and it was decided that a 4x4 Geomobile would be the best option. So Ausfox was picked up on the way to Geelong and then Sims_family in Geelong, and we made our way up that delightful road to Ballarat. Fresh from picking up FTFs either side of midnight Ausfox; suggested a side trip on the way back home and we were soon checking out this great structure by torchlight. Ausfox; levered the cache from its hiding place and soon all our names were on the log. The cache is in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache The_Tritonz

05-Jun-21
Suscoe dropped by here this morning on the way to a family celebration at a delightful restaurant in Ballarat.
A quick find but a slow extraction as the fingers were semi frozen and the wind was blowing cold air from some gigantic freezers somewhere to the north of Ballarat.
Thanks to The_Tritonz for bringing the caching world back to this interesting and impressive structure.
Temperature on the car's dashboard 6 degrees, BOM says wind chill was around -0.6 degrees,

29-May-21
I did this a couple years ago, I swear

23-May-21
The hint helped Smile

30-Apr-21
Been here before from previous CO.
Awesome
Thanks

This has been on the to do list for a while but time has always been short. This time it was decided a special trip out here was needed to turn the green box into a smiling face.
That was a surprise and a really different looking tower. Took a little walk around before I read the description and then all fell into place.
A clever hide as was expected from you two.
Thanks for this one The_Tritonz A FP coming.

18-Apr-21
The machinery doesn't seem to have moved since our last visit so we will enable this cache once more.

04-Apr-21
Disabled while roadwork machinery is stored nearby.

[^]Big GrinBig GrinBig GrinBig Grin {FTF} JOINT FIND WITH AU.FAIT Big GrinBig GrinBig GrinBig Grin[^]

Passed through this area on our drive to the first cache on our list this morning only to hear the phone ding telling me that there were new caches published and to discover that we were so close earlier.
Near dusk were were again in the area heading for Geelong so on checking we discovered that it was still unfound so decided to have a look.
As au.fail has stated it was my 600 hundredth FTF so thanks to The_Tritonz for placing and deserves a F.P.
The log is damp but the paper is easy to write on because of the type but I think some plumbers tape would keep the water out.

Out with Bushfire for another day of caching on a day they was unusually warm for Ballarat. An early start and a slow journey with the never ending roadworks, and a formidable list of caches with some of the Geotour caches high on our target which also had multis, puzzles, an adventure lab as well as traditionals. After we stopped for a cache I’d found previously we got down to the serious business of crossing caches off that list while we were still busy on our list in Ballarat we saw this pop up but thought someone would soon find it. However on our homeward way made the detour to Lal Lal and were surprisingly rewarded with a blank log. A joint FTF with. Bushfire. A huge milestone for him as it is his 600th FTF. Congratulations to him. TFTC The Tritonz
