Found by Mary and David at 16:05. Snug and dry, and plenty of space left. Our thanks to Darththorn1.
#48 We found 2 caches hidden there so we wrote in both. Pretty tree thanks!!!
Today, the plan was to have a quiet one. Then I saw a few new geocaches that no locals wanted to get. As such, I jumped in the car to go geocaching in the Gippsland hills, just hoping the weather would be nice to me.Very wet waking to gz. I'm glad I had my hiking boots on still. I found this one on the ground. Thanks for the cache, Darththorn1.Hunter
Disabled due to devastating tornado damage to Mirboo North. It will take some time for me to check my caches and potentially having to replace them.
Found it quickly but log is completely soaked, I suggest putting the bag on the inside of the container. Tftc
Out for the maiden trip on my new ebike when Mirboo Magic was found. Thanks Darththorn1 for setting up and maintaining this cache, it was a nice quick find - once I worked out which tree to hunt around.PS: The Troll Dolls [TN6TR0] were with me on my great caching adventures today.
4 November 2023 2:05 pm - 2nd of 2 Finds for the day. Find no. 1074.Ngs + miss 11 & miss 8 headed out for a playground etc visit to Mirboo North & we happened to be quite close to a couple of caches. We headed from playground on foot after eating, playing etc was done and after our previous find headed to the next closest cache. Miss 8 was still sort of enthusiastic with both girls uncovering this one. All in good condition and returned as found after signing and it posing for some photos. Pretty majestic long arms the tree has! Amazing. Miss 8 had used up her store of enthusiasm as we headed up the hill to the playground where the car was ... I think she even hinted she would like to be carried but ngs and miss 11 were a little further ahead and no way was i going to manage that! We slowed our pace to round about that of a snail and got back without trouble. Everyone was a bit tuckered out ... well all the others ... but it was mutual concent we shelved the idea of heading to lyrebird walk. The clouds were still looming but we were lucky they kept their moisture. Thanks for the cache.
Out with Rebel,Acts today with yet another mission being to clear Mirboo North and leave with smiles on the map. We were successful in our mission. This is one of the caches we came out to find. I'm not sure why it's taken me this long to find this cache.
Thanks Darththorn1 for replacing the cache so quickly after we couldn’t find it. TFTC
The phone took me on a little wander, but eventually it settled. A black cat was following me, at a distance. This will get me a cache in South Gippsland Council area. Good for some challenges. TFTC Darththorn1
Very cute and easy. Put a little bundle of swaps in and left a small pen too. Thank you!
Out and about day with Mezza74, D@geo and gwd.aussie. Thanks for the cache Darththorn1
No one around today, I even said about no dogs barking while signing the log.
Then while walking back to the car, a dog started bark at us.
Out caching with D@geo, Sharon14 and mezza74.

A bit of a phone around last night to organise todays caching day out deciding to head down toward Mirboo North as there was a few caches that helped with various challenges some of us were working towards.
Cache quickly to hand.
Thanks Darththorn1

A hot weekend, so day1976 and I headed to a river and waterfall to camp near. The next day we drive the long drive through the plantations to find more caches, and then out into civilisation.
Nice little reserve. We found the secret easily.

Wow, I can't believe how dry this one is inside, given the nature of the hide. Easily found, thanks for the cache!
Well hidden cache on our travels today, this is the last one for us but have enjoyed checking out the area for the day.

This is quite an unusual park, if "park" is the right term for this public space. I reckon it's a low spot that could be subject to flooding and not really suitable for housing so why not call it a park. "Green Space" perhaps? Maybe if the council plated a few more trees, added a couple of benches to sit on then it may be more appealing for people to visit and enjoy. Anyway at least the cache brought us here otherwise who, apart from the neighbours would even know it existed!

On a road trip to Tarra-Bulga National Park with our caching friends and picking up a few caches as we go. This was the third cache of the day. After lunch and a walk at Tarra-Bulga National Park we were now heading home following Grand Ridge Road most of the way stopping here to stretch our legs. While the GPS had us a bit all over the place, it was Wetjala who eventually made the find of the well hidden cache. TFTC. TNLN.
Great hiding spot. dropped a trackable off. Happy adventures little trackable! Travel far!
TFTC my 50th find and my first find getting back into Geocaching after 6 years. After looking for a few mins I found it. While I was scrounging a few people came out of the house on the side, I’m hopeful they didn’t see me or take my notice. Made sure to hide it back exactly where I found it.
Good little find. Nice big grassy area for kids to have a stop and run around on the way to Traralgon. TFTC
I will start the day with a DNF. Scratched about like a brush turkey, searched the tree like a kookaburra looking for spiders. Not today.
Scratched around and made the find of the well protected cache. Thanks Darththorn1.
Bark everywhere.
My first day out and about to geocache (work & lockdown) and had nothing urgent to do so it was joyous to just have time to explore and see what I could find.
So many options as to what to pick first
tftc and congrats on first cache

I woke to a beautiful winters day not requiring a coat , so of to Mirboo North for the markets I tho. Only problem was I had no idea where they were held our if they still were going after 2pm. Not having luck on the main drag I popped into the nursery which is really good by the way then had the idea to look for caches. What do you know, there's a new one here. So off I rolled and soon had it in hand . So glad it wasn't a few climb. Log signed and of I toddle again. Cache was I good condition.

Last time we were here a few weeks ago we gave this quite a search. It was almost dark when we arrived. Tried under two trees. Nothing. Today after reading the cache page and logs, not that they were much help, it was under what looked a familiar way of hiding caches! Easy! It was the original log with lots of familiar names, but looked to be a new container. It is an amazing tree.
Nice easy find here – just happened to move the right bit of bark first. It is amazing to see how these trees can grow those vertical branches so big and so long. Thanks for the fun
This was mine and my daughters first geocache find ... she’s hooked. Thanks so much.
A great drive around Gippsland picking up caches.
Yarragon, Trafalgar, Thorpdale, Narracan Falls, Coalville, Mirboo North, Leongatha, Korumburra and Loch.
I really liked the feel of Mirboo North. Lovely town.
A quick find at GZ thanks to coords and excellent hint.
Thanks for the cache.

I got a Message from Skipair with a suggestion of heading to the Mirboo North and Boolarra area to tackle the GRT trail, I had been looking at those for some time but My driving is very limited at the moment so its great to have friends to drive you around and chat with. We also did several other caches in the area, most of the trail was walked as I am unable to ride a bike after being hit by a truck. This is a beautiful area to visit with several great view locations and we certainly took a few roads that are less traveled today.
This is one of the caches we found on our travels. This took a bit of searching for, it sure was covered over.

Moving inland today - Cowes to Stratford, naturally with a number of short diversions and stops to get out and stretch our legs! Yes there is a certain magic about Mirboo! We were a little surprised to find the cache in such an open area, it might pay to label it as a caching game piece so muggles don't just take it away.
Thanks Darththorn1 for placing your first cache on the geo-gameboard.

After some pretty average weather it was time for a day out with the grandkids so we packed a picnic lunch and headed off towards Mirboo North.
First stop was the Lyrebird Was where we completed the River Loop. The kookaburras were in fine form so we herd them laughing often. a few wildflowers were found, but no sign of any lyrebirds despite the boy best efforts.
The it was time to he'd into town proper for a visit to the park. And what a great park it is. Fantastic play equipment with incredible variety and catering for a range of age. The boys particularly appreciated the flying for and geodesic dome, but kept coming back to the upright bars they kept crossing. Amazing upper body strength for a pair of little fellas!
Some where in the mix we managed to squeeze in lunch, but ditched the picnic we had brought with us with some fie fare from the bakery.
All done and dusted we headed off to this cache. We soon spotted the hide and were surprised by its location. We duly signed the log and replaced it where we found it.
Only when we got home did we red the hint and resized it was not hidden where the hint indicated.

Maybe this has been put back in wrong spot. Very easy find. Visible from road. Tried to cover up more.
Found your cache quickly but not according to the hint and noticed only 2 names were logged added my signature and replaced where l found it.. TFTC darthorn
Hmm This should have been straightforward with the generous hint, but alas no FTF luck for us today. The location and coords pointed to a obvious location, but even with an extended search and digging through the mulch at the base of the tree, we could not locate the hide. GZ is under direct view from a few houses. We look forward to hearing from the CO re confirmation that the cache is still in place.
Very happy to turn this one into a smiley After messaging the CO, the geodad and youngest geokid went back for another look. The cache was well buried under leaf/bark litter. Swaps were made and log signed - we replaced it as the CO intended. Thanks for the cache Darththorn1, may it be the first of many
