Found on a sunny but cool afternoon. Log is saturated so could not sign. What a bugger. Found with Maggie and Mollie, my GeoWesties, while roaming around Tasmania with our motorhome “Mylittlebus” looking for content for our TASMANIA ALL OVER facebook page. Thanks for placing this cache (and others), keeping us on our exploring toes.

I finally got to turn that smile upside today. After not finding this cache as a FTF a couple of years back, and a few more seaches not finding anything, I decided to bring a helper to help...but as soon as I got back, there it was, right were I hadn't looked before! So much for bringing someone to help, but that always happens, bring someone along to get involved in the joys of geocaching with a long seach, and then as soon as you are at GZ, there is the cache. I must say, it is not as overgrown as it previously was, so that made it a bit easier to find - obviously. TFTC and thanks for the hunt!

06-Jan-23
Back home we decided to tackle a few caches that have been published since our last time in Launceston and surrounds.

A nice strool along the river bank, great to see that the walking track has been raised! Cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Quite easy to find but there has been some flooding in the area

16-Jul-22
Decided to return on a Saturday as I thought there would be a higher likelihood of no work being done on the track.
When I got there that was indeed the case so I went to get the cache despite the path closed sign.
Anyway the cache was easily found at GZ. TFTC

Note when I came last week the track was also closed from the other side. I still think maybe it should be disabled - it’s only closed temporarily but that’s what temporary disable is for!

15-Jul-22
Cache is accessible, work isn’t 24/7, you can enter from the other side aswell. Also the work being done is temporary I don’t see cause for disablement at this time.

06-Jul-22
The track is currently closed and despite past logs saying they ignored the signs, the workers near GZ told me to turn back! So probably best to disable this cache until the track is open again.

This cache has been on our 'to do' list during our last two caching trips to Launceston. I wasn't going to leave again today without doing it so we headed to the closest parking at the northern end. Had a lovely chat to an elderly muggle who was resting at the beginning after walking from the other end. Like he said, it was a lovely day for a walk and he still had to walk back yet!! Must be fitter than me I think!
He did ask me if I was going to ride the track as he had noticed the pushbike on the back of the van. It was hardly worth getting it off for such a short distance.
He also told me to ignore the track closed signs and that everyone was still using it.
It's always nice to chat with the elderly and I'm sure they appreciate it when someone takes the time to stop for a 'natter'.
As for the cache, it was a quick find at GZ and a very appropriate container considering our cache name.
Have done all the other caches along this track in the past but it was good to revisit this lovely area.
Thanks DaryVafder.

Fly away home, your house is on fire, your children have flown.
Thanks for another most excellently themed cache..

08-Oct-21
Thanks for the cache DaryVafder.
Spending the night in Launceston with the GeoGSP and after spending a lot of the afternoon in the car driving up from Hobart, I was keen to take the GeoGSP for a walk before tea. The horrible weather was gone, and the clouds parted, but it was still quite cool.
As I wanted to have a decent walk, we parked at the northern end of the track and headed south, the track was very wet! But the caches we found along the way were worth it.
This one was tricky to get to without getting your feet wet - in fact, I'd completely given up on keeping my feet dry by this stage - but GZ and the cache itself were all completely dry. Lovely cache container. A favourite from me and the GeoGSP.

What a hike

This one has been tempting me for some time. The presence of our borrowed geo-pup, very active and in need of both exercise and stimulation - a working breed, was all I needed on this fine Easter Sunday. Lady Luck was with me, and the find was made after a short search which I found had to bypass the obvious hiding spot. I had anticipated the theme, given the cache name and I was not disappointed. Now it is time for the geo-pup and me to "fly away home" hoping that we don't face a conflagration!

Quick and easy find on this hot Tasmanian day.
Cute container.

08-Jan-21
After coming here prior to Christmas and seeing the cache area under water and not being able to find it, I returned today and GZ looked quite different being dry I walked straight up the cache which was nicely tucked away. The cache and contents are all in good order.

We came to Launceston this evening to complete a GCA night cache but took the opportunity to look for three GC caches that have been published since our last visit. This was one of them.

Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find of a novel cache container. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks DaryVafder for the cache.

On my way to the west coast to work my way back seeking caches. Noticed this cache was published so made the search and a blank log sheet. Accurate co-ordinates led to a quick find. A favourite point awarded.
