Logs
Found with SoStephOh on our way back from a dog walk. TFTC: DRY, tidy, plenty of room in wee log book.
Heading home now, and I made hard work of this one also......should have looked here first......In the area today as we thought these caches looked a little lonely, and we had a carer for junior cacher .....it was time we got into some sunshine as we had been renovating a bedroom, taking up any spare hours....Left home at 8am (the wrong time as schools had just gone back after the anniversary weekend, and we hit traffic extending the trip to the park by half an hour. The cache is in good health.......TFTC.
#13,940. I am a bit late catching up with my logs. I have been away in Northland on an island for the past 10 days with no electricity for powering a laptop. I headed up this road on the way north to get the westernmost cache in the Auckland region. Needed for the shredded wheat challenge. Stopped to pick up a few other caches along the way. This was one of them. Parked on the main road and wandered up to GZ for a quick find. No dog heads seen today thank goodness. Signed the logbook and replaced everything as found. Thanks capperz for hiding it here. You certainly have a lot of grandchildren.
I guess Crosland Rd and Cypress have the letter C in them. A lovely idea to make your grand children part of geocaching capperz, always nice to have themed caches trads or otherwise.
Today was the day I decided I had to finish off the challenge caches put out by our mate tramyard. One involves finding caches with the horse attribute and the other involves the attribute no park and grab. I left home at 11:15am from Te Atatu Sth and got home about 9pm, but managed to finish of both challenges. It meant a trip all the way up this south head peninsula, then over to Wenderholm, then down to Albany then back down to the airport to sign off on the challenges. Bought myself a bottle of vodka along the way and had a well deserved drink when I arrived home!
The cache all good here today, dry as a bone, I have come prepared to replace anything, new paper, new cache, whatever, just in case.
Right across the road from GZ, I saw the most bizarre thing! I will share... from a distance it looked like a old fridge or microwave under the pine tree, I thought to myself, if it's a microwave, I'll take that and make a cache out of it. Got closer and I thought WTF!! There was a fridge but only about 600mm high, it had planks of wood laying on top, and a ton of pine needles, but right in the middle, with the wood arranged right around it, was a dead dogs head! Never seen anything like it and wish never to see such a thing ever again, no way was I going to touch the fridge after that I can tell you. So got out of there and carried on trying to erase the image I saw. Had better happenings at the next cache.

A lone mission for one of the team today while the other recovers at home from some minor surgery on his scalp that needed to stay dry.Having decided to cache between Parakai and South Head, I opted to drive to the furthest cache and make my way slowly back towards home.
With 6 finds under my belt I had 2 on my list to go, so was almost on the home straight. This one was a nice quick find, being hidden just as described. A great idea to do a series based on your grandchildren. Having 17 grandchildren ourselves, it is something we would like to do too.

Today I was on a mission as part of Team G0LD to Te Rau Puriri Regional Park on South Kaipara Head, to hopefully clear all the caches there and as many more as possible on the peninsula.
With the Te Rau Puriri mission successfully completed, it was on to the rest of the local caches despite the very hot day. Really glad for the aircon in the cache mobile in between caches.
Once at GZ, Lis made the find in a place I had already checked, but obviously not well enough. TFTC

Out with team Gold today (0B80B8 and LisCrew) collecting a few caches in the area. Nice quick park and grab as we head south. TFTC
Team G0LD (Geocachers: 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) were on a mission today. We found all of the caches in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park and got our final mountain souvenirs all done and dusted. Now we wanted to spend the rest of our day filling in as much of this area with yellow smiles as we could.
Overall it was a very hot day with temps of 28-30°C. The time between caches this afternoon in the car was very refreshing with the air con set at 20°C. I found 49 caches and got lots of smiles on my map.
After our detour out to Shelly Beach which was a bit disappointing with 3 dnfs we were pleased to get the rest of the ones we attempted. Found this after rechecking the hint area. Feeling was better than seeing here. Thanks for another cache

NZ Travellers and I had a plan to cache and walk today. Unfortunately their geo-dog was unwell so Mrs NZT had to stay home to care for him so it ended up being just Mr NZT and myself. Had a great day out, ended on a nice round number of 40 (50 would have been better but I had to collect our minis from their camp).
I found it in a spot that Mr NZT had supposedly checked - oops - he had probably touched it as he searched!!
Thanks for the cache.

Our primary reason for the trip mup this far today was to attempt all the caches in the park. Mrs NZT stayed home to look after Geo Dog (poor little bugga had had a rough night) and Keylev and myself set off to find all these.
After finishing the park caches we headed back down toward Helensville clearing up the remaining caches on the way.
Keylev made the embarrassing find after I initially overlooked the cache container.

I am on my way for a hike around Te Rau Puriri Reginal Park this afternoon but made sure to collect the caches hidden on the western side of the main road on my way up South Head. I parked up close to GZ and got to searching. Spent some time searching the wrong side of GZ before swapping over and coming up with the goods. I had to dig down amongst the long grass. Took a few extra minutes here to finish my lunch before hitting the road once again. Cheers for the cache placement!
With the announcement that Level 3 could include exercise away from our house (and naturally the area around our house is either cleaned out or carpeted in my own caches) we decided a fun activity would be geocaching and this was confirmed when the reviewers said that caching was A-OK.
We decided to drive up here as even a drive was an exciting trip and stopped off here on the way to the park that was our destination. We were definitely not match fit, so what should have been a quick and easy find took quite a bit of poking about but we got there in the end.
Congrats to you on your lovely big family. Thanks for the cache here, all good.

WE grabbed this one on the way home - it was getting late so we didn't get all of your grandchildren but next time for sure. T4tc
After a morning removing moth plant with some other volunteers from the North Shore/Whangaparaoa/South Auckland we picked this one up on our way home. Nice quiet road to park on and walk across to the hiding place. Cache nicely hidden under some leaf litter, so signed quickly, replaced and covered up.
A quick Park and grab on our way home from South head. Thanks Cypress for the cache.
We took a painted rock with the letter T for our grandson Theo

Squeezed in beside the trees on the main road, and walked across to the GZ. Great hint, and a quick find here, cheers
Merlot, Mr Pazza and I were keen for a road trip. Neither Merlot or I had ever been up these roads before and we started the day with this cache. These containers are far better than a systema. I bet these don't get wet when they are closed properly.
Pazza asked me if I wanted to go on a road trip with them so jumped at the chance. We made this the first cache of the day and had no trouble with the find
Out today to finish this series...unless you have any unexpected grandies in the future!
Really enjoying the drive to South Head today....
Cheers capperz

That is a very cute baby pic and a name I have not heard before. Nice quick find here on another quiet road. TFTC
After an FTF near Parakai I was thinking it likely to grab another one here and I was right. [FTF] for me here too. Looks like an interesting series. TFTC!!!
