In the area today as we thought these caches looked a little lonely, and we had a carer for junior cacher .....it was time we got into some sunshine as we had been renovating a bedroom, taking up any spare hours....Left home at 8am (the wrong time as schools had just gone back after the anniversary weekend, and we hit traffic extending the trip to the park by half an hour.Arriving at GZ a quick chat with the local farmer for hints on the best route to take, and into cache finding.... then headed out on the adventure. The cache is in good health, luckily for water proof paper....TFTC.
The third one for me in this region today. Just noticed, my device is only got 34% battery. I hope I can get through the whole trail before I run out of juice. Thanks!
The rain has held off today and there has even been a bit of sun about. Found after a short search in the most likely places. Thanks capperz.
Could not come to the south head about floodiing and herre I must gave up about fallen trees.
Thanks a lot.
Thanks a lot.
Out enjoying a mid-winter walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. We arrived late morning and spent most of the rest of the day wandering around the tracks and finding plenty of caches. It was a bit wet underfoot but the weather was mild and we enjoyed the views as we walked an anti-clockwise circuit.
Another nice quick find here, as we make our way back up the hill to the carpark. TFTC

Out with team Gold today (0B80B8 and LisCrew) collecting a few caches in the area. Another quick find as we head around the park. TFTC
Today I was on a mission as part of Team G0LD to Te Rau Puriri Regional Park on South Kaipara Head, to hopefully clear all the caches there and as many more as possible on the peninsula.
The Garmin watch showed a distance of 7.50 kms to complete the park in just under 3 hours with 250 metres elevation gain, so a nice exercise jaunt for the day, even if if was a tad warm and humid ahead of the approaching storm.
Fourth one on our walk today and a nice quick find where expected. TFTC

Team G0LD (Geocachers: 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) were on a mission today. The primary target was the cache rich Te Rau Puriri Regional Park at South Head. We were aiming to get our final mountain souvenir all done and dusted as well as filling an entire area on our maps with yellow smiles.
We couldn't resist a few quick grabs on the roadside on the way to and from the park to add to the tally. This cache was our fourth one in the park as we headed off clockwise around the loopwalk. Another quick find. Lots of cicadas on the puriri trees today.
Overall it was a very hot day with temps 28-30°C. We only copped a few brief spats of rain and I found 49 caches. My souvenir well and truly achieved. Certainly a pretty lot of smiles too. Thanks for this hide

NZ Travellers and I had a plan to cache and walk today. Unfortunately their geo-dog was unwell so Mrs NZT had to stay home to care for him so it ended up being just Mr NZT and myself. Had a great day out, ended on a nice round number of 40 (50 would have been better but I had to collect our minis from their camp).
The heat of the morning was out now but with an empty track it was a nice quick find here for us.
Thanks for the cache.

Our primary reason for the trip here today was to attempt all the caches in the park. Mrs NZT stayed home to look after Geo Dog (poor little bugga had had a rough night) and Keylev and myself set off to find all these.
My GPS had been consistently out about 20 meters. Took the time to recalibrate and a master reset (OK a fancy way of saying took the batteries out and reinstalled them) NOW I was bang on target.

I am out and about this afternoon, taking advantage of the excellent weather, to take a hike around Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. After finding "T is for Tommy" I continued along the trail to this one. I tried one spot before noting something a little out of place close to me. Removal of said item revealed the goods. Right off to the next one ("the tree with the hide"). Cheers for the cache placement!
Out to explore a new area and agreed to be the tail end charlie for the tramping club trip - meant I could get some caches as long as I didn't too far behind.
First cache of the day and still kept the others in sight. TFTC

Find number 3 in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park today! I visited here with tramyard, and we walked the loop clockwise finding all of the caches in the park along the way (and a few on the way there and back).
All good here--the views are fantastic indeed. TFTC!

With the announcement that Level 3 could include exercise away from our house (and naturally the area around our house is either cleaned out or carpeted in my own caches) we decided a fun activity would be geocaching and this was confirmed when the reviewers said that caching was A-OK.
Mrs Tuolei went the wrong way so we lost a bit of time around while she backtracked and joined me but got to the right spot in the end and after looking on the wrong side of the path, adjusted to the other and then found the cache without trouble. As always, helps to look at GZ. Thanks for the cache - all good here.

Mr P and I had a plan to find each and every cache in the park... what a great park it is too. T4tc
I had the day off work today, so I decided to get out for a walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park... an area that I've never visited before! I was greeted with nice views as soon as I parked the car and, being a weekday, I had the park to myself for the afternoon. It was a lovely walk down to the harbour and back, I found all of the current caches here without any difficulty and really enjoyed my visit! TFTC!
GeohoundandI got to this one first, mainly because she loves climbing up banks. She threw the cache down to me to sign, and I dropped it! Threw it back and suggested the rest of us run to next cache and leave her behind. She caught up because none of us can run, apart from the geohound.
We took the hounds round here while we could, which has to be by June and the start of the lambing season. Tftc. Nice easy start to the morning.
I was out on a ladies caching day with Supernanny and Nette1234 on a lovely autumn day. This was another cache that the others had found but it didn't take me too long as co-ords were spot on
Out and about enjoying Puriri with the mexikiwi and evilno9. Glad we did so, as the next day we went into level 3 lockdown. We enjoyed the round collecting all geocaches on the way, with a short lunch break on the beach. No issues with any find. TFTC
I had some really nice weather today to hike the big loop around the park. I've never been to this regional park before and enjoyed it tremendously today. TFTC.
A quick find as we headed down the track and very well timed too as a muggle appeared from the other direction just after we had returned the cache to its hiding spot.
He was looking a bit hot and tired so we were very pleased to be heading downhill.
Great place for a cache. Thanks capperz.

First caching with my new GPS and it logged the cache with just some weird short message...
Came here to see this empty but lovely park and leave some stuff behind for others to find...

Found it during enjoyable trip to South Head in Auckland Region after attending
Geocaching Mini Quiz in Auckland Domain early this morning.
It is time to get my car dusty and also thanks for great reason to visit this area again.
Yay for the location! What a great park! Thanks for bringing me here! Decided to continue and explore the area. It was my first visit in this regional park. Lovely spot!
No problems with the hide.

Carried on down the pathway after finding Tommy and I had the whole park to myself if the parking area is anything to go by. Lovely wander to GZ and a nice easy find to reward my walk. TFTC
Out on an unexpexted caching expedition with Jag50 on a lovely sunny day.
Found the good car park and wandered to where we thought the cache was.
However this didn't match the hint so we changed elevation and the cache was soon in hand.
Will be keen to return when more caches are released.
Great to have another { FTF }
Thanks capperz

Black Friday and unlucky for some - but lucky for Supernannny and us as we got {FTF} on this cache. We have never visited this regional park before, but are looking forward to returning to explore it some more. Initially we took the wrong track towards gz, but soon corrected this after jumping the fence (we made sure it wasn't electric!) to the correct track. Once at gz the hiding spot was soon spotted, and we opened the cache to find a blank log. TFTC
There is another Traditional in the park, awaiting listing, as well as several others on the way to here
