Came up this far to get this cache, but...OH NOO... road closed, who knows how long for, probably not for long. Between where the road block was and the cache, the road had slipped away, blocking traffic. There was a dude sitting close by in his 4WD, turns out when I went up to have a chat with him, that's when I found out why the road was blocked, not only that, he is a digger driver, and I could see his large digger machine close by. The small stream you cross to where I was had recently turned into a torrent with recent storms, taking with it several pine trees that apparently nearly washed out the bridge, so this guy was dredging the stream, taking out huge amounts of sand can you believe and dumping the deposits in large mounds next to the stream, he added that he had been busy with a chainsaw cutting up the trees crossing the road so that traffic could pass by.
So anyway, that's that for now, have added a few photos for perusal.

Out to watch the sunrise this morning.
So it was a early start.
It was to dark when I arrived to find the cach.
When I got back to the car there was plenty of light and it was a quick find.
The cach is safe and dry.
Thanks capperz.

Rainy school holiday adventures. Wet walk down to the bay. Kids even had a swim!! Tftc
This one gave me such grief! Got the gps right down to zero yet nothing. Lucky nobody was around (heaps of cars) so i expanded the search area & a last effort finally came up trumps. Pheweee. TFTC
Today I was on a mission as part of Team G0LD to Te Rau Puriri Regional Park on South Kaipara Head, to hopefully clear all the caches there and as many more as possible on the peninsula.
With the Te Rau Puriri mission successfully completed, it was on to the rest of the local caches and we certainly weren't going to be leaving this one at the far end of the road, despite a recent dnf.
Once parked at GZ, it was a nice quick fine, log signed and replaced. Would have liked to walk down to the beach, but far too hot today, so really glad for the aircon in the cache mobile. TFTC

Out with team Gold today (0B80B8 and LisCrew) collecting a few caches in the area. Headed up to the end of the road to collect this one. Soon located. Thanks for bring us there.
Team G0LD (Geocachers: 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) were on a mission today. We found all of the caches in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park and got our final mountain souvenirs all done and dusted. Now we wanted to spend the rest of our day filling in as much of this area with yellow smiles as we could.
It was a long way out to this one but with the previous find being a relatively new cacher we liked our chances of finding it. We parked up very near it and I found it in the first place I looked. Yippee!
Overall it was a very hot day with temps of 28-30°C. The time between caches this afternoon in the car was very refreshing with the air con set at 20°C. I found 49 caches so certainly a lot of smiles on my map.
Thanks for this hide

NZ Travellers and I had a plan to cache and walk today. Unfortunately their geo-dog was unwell so Mrs NZT had to stay home to care for him so it ended up being just Mr NZT and myself.
We had the local regional park in our sites but decided to knock this one off first to 'clear' the area.
Arrived and parked up at GZ and made the find very shortly after that.
Thanks for the cache and for my first cache of 2022!! Woop woop!

Primary reason for todays trip was to clear out the Te Rau Puriri Regional Park caches with Keylev. But as this cache was the furthest up the South Bank Point it would have been rude not to start here.
Parked a little way away thinking that there wasn't anything closer and found we could have almost parked right next to GZ.
Quick easy find and back down the road to the Regional Park

End of the line then a walk to the beach. Very popular spot today with the end of the road packed with cars and quite the turnout on the beach either fishing or swimming. Even a tent set up with someone camping. Cache was a straight forward find
I am on my way for a hike around Te Rau Puriri Reginal Park this afternoon. I made sure to collect this cache, hidden about as far as you can get up South Head, by car anyway, before the hike to minimise the amount of gravel road driving after the trek. I parked up in the car park and was surprised by the number of cars already their. Luckily, no muggles where about, presumably they were all down at the beach. My GPSr took me to a spot that sort of matched the hint, but no hide was found. I extended my search in the other direction towards a another spot that matched the hint and soon came up with the goods. Cheers for the cache placement!
After clearing out all the caches in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park, tramyard and I continued up the road to see what the beach was like. Surprisingly busy with muggles up here, but none of them were looking as we retrieved and replaced the cache. We walked down the Manunutahi Track to the beach, which was also a popular spot for muggles today, and found some cool rocks and even a shark! Not so easy walking back up again though. TFTC capperz
We arrived at GZ with high energy as it was the start of our caching day... it was a cycle through all the likely places until we came back to our first place to look and this time we noted the cache. T4tc Beautiful views from the carpark.
I had the day off work today, so I decided to get out for a walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park... an area that I've never visited before! After exploring the park, I drove to the end of the road to look for this cache. Made a quick find at GZ then heard voices coming up the hill, so signed the cache in the car. As they approached the stile, one of them was too busy staring at me and walking straight into (and nearly over the fence!) Once they left, I replaced the cache as found. TFTC!
There is a cache in the park that I needed to get, so I drove all the way to the end of the road first to complete the set of caches on the peninsula. TFTC.
This was the end of the line for us, especially when my phone decided I was only 15,916Km from the cache!
Quite a few cars parked here today. When my phone settled down it kept taking me to a corner post (more or less 3m out it said) but the bottom wire was broken, and I didn't fancy going head first down the hill. Eventually GeohoundandI found the correct corner, although her phone said she was 13m or so out there.
Logged as HP family.

Was in the motorhome, so made a weekend of it, with a great day caching on Saturday around the Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. Drove up here on the Sunday morning for a quick look, and of course the cache, cheers
Pazza asked me if I wanted to go on a road trip with them so I jumped at the chance. This sure is the end of the line, and a very dusty line today. The car park was pretty full and seeing a dnf logged here we weren't sure we would find it but we had no problem, it's still there. We decided it was too hot to head downhill as we watched a couple struggling to walk back up.
We were glad to see this one still here. Normally I would have liked to take a walk further to explore but we were feeling a little too hot and tired and by the looks of the red puffing faces coming up the hill we decided to forego it. Mr Pazza knew it was a narrow beach and there were a lot of cars, so it must have been rather busy down there
Found it during enjoyable trip to South Head in Auckland Region after attending
Geocaching Mini Quiz in Auckland Domain early this morning.
It is time to get my car dusty and also thanks for great reason to visit this area again.
Last hide for a day!
GPS a little bit off but hint says it all!

Had a whole day to myself so figured a nice drive was in order. It's been years since I have been up here so it was nice to come back, the road has improved since then. Surprised to see a couple of other cars here but they were unoccupied so I could search in peace. The GPS was leading me away from where I found the cache but there were limited options to search so it didn't take too long. TFTC
Seemed appropriate to come all the way to the end of the line since I was so close. No trouble here. TFTC!!!
I was aware that three new caches had been released in the South Head area... but I usually have Grandma Day on Fridays.
However I wasn't needed today.
Contacted MrsJag50 and found she also had a free day and was keen to meet up.
We drove to the End of the Line first.
Easy find with specific hint.
After signing in as Joint { FTF } we took our lunches and went down the track to the beach to eat ....Very peaceful here and lovely wide expansive views .
Many thanks capperz...don't think I have been down here before.

Black Friday and unlucky for some - but lucky for Supernannny and us as we got {FTF} on this cache. Got to gz and there was a car already parked there, but we did not recognise the car so hoped we were still in with a chance for FTF. With the hint, we soon located the cache and were pleased to find a blank log.
After the formalities of signing and returning the cache, we took our lunch and headed down the hill for a picnic lunch. Beautiful spot made even better by the fact we had it to ourselves today.
