I completed the Adventure Lab on a previous visit to Auckland last November. Today I returned to the final location. I have attached a photo of the Old Arts/Clocktower building as this is where I enrolled for a B.Com way back in 1977.
Logging with approval of the CO due to construction works at the final.
Found & logged using Cachly for iOS

Completed the AdLab (more or less) a week or so ago. Struggled on the last waypoint due to the construction work going on there meaning the plaque wasn't visible, and no matter what we asked Uncle Google, he wouldn't give us the correct answer (although after contacting the CO I managed to find the correct answer).
Even then we couldn't work out the codeword to find the final (I still think my description/opinion of Bamber Gascoigne should be suitable!), but today CO contacted to say the actual GZ is now being redeveloped so we have permission to log as found. Still needed another hint but then found the codeword straight away, and replied with the Lufbra version.
After all of that I'm sure I deserve another degree and some more letters to put after my name.
UTC.

A few days in Auckland for a wedding means I can do a few caches as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed this cache and all the waypoints visited. Those army barracks walls are amazing that they are still here.
I had to put my thinking cap on to work out the final but had an aha moment and hooray it was correct. This is logged with the CO's permission. Thank you, tuolei. The idea is great. University Challenge was one of my favourite shows growing up. I backed Otago of course. ( Although I ended up graduating from Canterbury)

Up in Auckland for a couple of days while I'm attending a conference, so of course I have to try and get some caching in
An early morning walk had me heading towards here as I needed a puzzle cache today for a challenge. Finding the cache was straightforward, but that's where it ended. Thinking that the item I was placing the cache while signing was magnetic, I discovered it wasn't and it fell to the ground where I couldn't see it due to the uplight. I eventually found it again, but had trouble signing the log, but got some markings on the sheet, which then took me ages to roll back up. SMH. In any case, I got things ticked off. Apart from that, all good here, and TFTC.

Found in the most logical place. The log is full, so we signed "sTT" at space #3.
Thanks!

We enjoyed the tour of campus provided by the Adventure Lab and easily found our way over to the GZ for this final. We had three pens with us, but somehow none of them could be convinced to write on the waterproof log, so we took a photo as proof. TFTC and hello from MIT in Cambridge, MA!
Did adventure lab yesterday and had to go home and ponder clues! Solved it with a college brain. Came back and signed log today! Log pretty full
We made a night-time visit to Albert Park and Auckland University to collect a couple of puzzle hides. Having previously done the Adventure Lab we could head straight for GZ tonight. There were still a few people out and about, but we were able to make a discrete extraction of the cache. Thanks.
Beautiful day out in Auckland, great adventure cache to check out the local area! Didn’t have a pen to log cache but photo sent to owner, TFTC!
Found the bonus after the puzzle had us a bit stumped for a while, then thought of a solution. Woop woop. Quick find of the cache, however foe some reason our pen wouldn't write on the log, perhaps too waxy?? Photo attached of the find. Found with Reny90
Having completed the Adventure Lab last time I was in town, this morning I ventured out in the wet for a stroll and found this one. TFTC!
After spending a bit of time getting my AT HOP card with the Old Farts concession over the past days I joined up with Kiwicouple for a leisurely boat ride from West Harbour to the City to complete 2 AdLabs, this being one of them.
We gathered all the info for it and I went off to find and sign the bonus cache.
Cheers for the cache.

Needed a nudge on that final step. Up early today to get some caching in before the rain hits. Quick circuit & find, then a slow roll back up. Thanks tuolei!
We enjoyed doing the Ad Lab today, and then took the time to calculate the the final coordinates, thankfully Mr Liverkiwi had knowledge of what was needed to help us make the leap. A nice quick find once the coordinates were revealed. Found with Liverkiwi and B4dawn.
Some of us from Team SEAC decided to meet up for a day of caching in Albert Park. With a virtual, an adventure lab and an augmented reality cache to complete, it was going to take a while. So those of us who went all met up in Albert Park and started our time in beautiful surroundings on a magnificent caching day.
After completing the Adventure Lab and getting he answers to all of the questions, we sat down to have a go at solving the puzzle that was before us. As we tried to figure it out on paper, one word appeared which gave Mr. Kiwi the ah-ha moment. Being a past student at Auckland University this one word registered with something and so he just blurted it out. Nobody else knew what he was talking about. Anyway a quick look up and there was the answer right in front of him confirming that his suspicions were right.
Once we had the coordinates for the final, it was a quick walk over to grab the cache and sign it.

Bit of a walkabout with HeMaLuDy and Liverkiwi, full day of caching.
Thanks for the Adventure Lab! Very fun and glad to have found the bonus too. TFTC

Quick find here on a not so busy day. Adventure lab was fun and solved the puzzle a few months after… TFTC
As I was meeting up with friends later I decided to head in a little early for some caching and something to eat.
I had done the adventure lab for this one months ago, but I had decided to save the final for a calendar day, then lockdown happened and I still could not complete my calendar. As it is now 9 months before a needed calendar day I decided there was no point in waiting and headed off to GZ.
Upon arriving at GZ I spotted a likely place right away and even saw the cache. Waited for a muggle to wander off and made the retrieve. A fun adventure lab l, and a fitting final. Thanks for the adventure and the cache #1271

After completing the lab cache last month we decided to take the information which we had gathered and work out the final once we were back home. Sent a quick message to the CO to check the answers we had were correct and not long after this we were on to something. A dot day today and not much time to collect a cache. This one was fairly nearby so decided to come and grab this one. A quick find. Enjoyed the Lab cache.
I did the Adventure Lab ages ago. Picked-up the final today on my way to Tāwharanui with lumin298. It was nice quick find on Saturday early morning empty streets.

A great day to be out exploring some of Auckland areas which are handy to our hotel. We are visiting the city to take in the Lion King production so decided to spend a bit of time caching as well. We enjoyed this walk, but stumbled getting a green tick for the correct check sum. Messaged CO with our answers, but they point led out our error with one answer. Soon the penny dropped and we got the go ahead. So today we able to find the cache - very few muggles around. A great adventure lab bonus, very apt.
After all that recent rain and cooler temperatures it's good to see the area being treated with some nice early winter sunshine and warm sunny days (despite an early morning frost at Whenuapai!)
I had business out in the city later on this morning so the timing of the Auckland event today was perfect and I managed to snag a car park a mere 1.2kms away (my choice). On the way I managed to stop and find the final for a recent Adventure Lab which I completed on the weekend.
This was the puzzle final and despite it being close on lunch time and a few people around, no-one was interested in me and I managed to sight and grab the cache after a little bit of casual glancing, and checking my phone. Once my name was added the cache was replaced same and I headed to the event. Thanks for this awesome complete Ad Lab experience, we really enjoyed taking our time looking around the buildings and Uni grounds and seeing a side that most passers-by would miss. Another FP for you tuolei, and on I go with the recent solving success, thanks.

We completed the lab ages ago and NEARLY figured out the bonus. To my shame I went to uni here and totally should have figured it out. However with a small hint I got there. Today we finally had chance to walk over and find the cache. I have driven by in a hurry many times, and mentally said "hello cache" and also had one try when there was nowhere to park. Hurray!
Today was Mother’s Day and Mrs FriwiNZ wanted to go to the art gallery. No problem I thought, I’ll take the kids for an adventure lab. We decided to do the close by Auckland University one. For some reason we were a bit slow this morning and it took quite a bit of time to find the first plaque. The rest of them ended up being relatively easy. After completing the lab cache we sat down on the University steps to try and decipher the mystery. After 10 minutes we decided it was time for a feed, we continue looking at the clues but weren’t making much progress. I decided to contact the CO for extra help but then something clicked and we managed to decipher the riddle before getting an answer. Very clever puzzle well worth a favourite. TFTC and the puzzle.
Did the AL last weekend but made a total hash of this bonus cache. CO pointed out where I had gone wrong with all my answers (doh) & once back on track, I soon had the green tick. Passing by GZ today so stopped in to make a quick find before dawn. Log was a bit hard to write on (bit waxy?) but I managed to get an AV on the log. TFTC
Retrived all the necessary info with Kirstim and sat and pondered the answer for a bit, but clicked when we read another log, phew.
Gathered the necessary info with Vamber and sat and pondered the answer for a bit, but clicked when we read another log, phew. Cache signed and off to our escape room.
Visiting Auckland for a family gathering. Enjoying the big city lights with all the noise and traffic going on but pleased it’s only for a few days. Enjoyed revisiting Auckland Uni as it’s 10 years since our daughter studied here. Didn’t take long collecting the initial questions but as usual with a Tuolei cache there was a bit more head scratching to do. Found a quiet spot at the Uni library entrance to sort out the bonus questions and then got stuck. Tried various combinations before rereading the description and narrowing down the subject matter. Finally Bingo, there it was. A short walk to GZ and soon signing the log. A great puzzle and happy to add to the favourites. Thanks for the smiley.
Nice one! I completed the Adventure Lab last week while I was working in our office not too far from here. I'd misread one of the journals so was stuck on finding the final coordinates for this cache. Once I got back to where I'm staying, I spotted the error of my ways and unlocked the final coordinates. I was back in our office today getting a faulty laptop fixed so after I was done with that stopped by GZ on my way home. Coordinates were pretty good so the cache was found without any further dramas.
This was definitely a must do cache for me. I was on the Auckland University University Challenge team in 1985 - the first year that Auckland ever won the series. I returned to Uni Challenge in 1986 in an international test series against the British winners, Jesus College Oxford. My lame claim to fame I guess, having starters for 10 fired at me (and the rest of the team) by both Pete Sinclair AND Bamber Gascoine. My last effort in this arena was as manager of the 1987 Auckland University team. Pressure off, I could sit back and do what students do best...
Thanks for a cool stroll down memory lane and TFTC, Biggles.

It's been a while since I completed the Adventure Lab, so I thought it was fine I came for a lunchtime walk today to find the bonus. Some sort of concert happening across the road, but no one was paying any attention to me as I circled a couple of times before spotting the nano. Then I realised I hadn't brought a pen. Oh well, photo attached as proof. Thanks!
I did the AL back in January and sorted out the hint after a quick check with the CO when it didn't seem to be working--turns out I had one letter wrong, but after that it was all okay. I've tried to get the final a few times, mostly after work when there were muggles everywhere, but this time I was finally able to retrieve the log and sign it. Trying to fit it back in the lid took a while but no muggles looked my way so replacing the cache was okay too. TFTC and the lab--and for pointing out the mistake
I received a message from Gorby asking if I wanted to join him and TheWonderStuff to complete a couple of adventure labs around the city. As I hadn't had a chance to attempt the ALs I was keen to complete them and it was always more fun with others. There was a follow-up message telling me to bring my electric scooter so we could zip around town to the waypoints.
Being very familiar with the University, having spent seven and a half years studying there gaining two degrees and a postgraduate diploma, I was able to help us navigate around and find the necessary information quickly.
Once we visited all waypoints we sat down to work out the answers to the questions and then we attempted to crack the code word. We spent some time and even tried to PAF but we were unable to reach either of our contacts. It was TheWonderStuff who finally figured it out from his different vantage point. We headed off to the final which was soon located. Many thanks for the adventure.

We had a lovely day today, myself, TWS and Aiden29. We started on Pagenz's ad lab first. We had agreed a week ago to meet up and today them 2 brought along their e-scooters and I brought along my e-bike. We had started down on Wyndham St for the other ad lab and worked our way up the hill to the start of this ad lab.
We had no problems with gathering the info from the various WP's. At WP 1 Aiden reckoned there was a strong smell associated with that tree, me being not as smell sensitive, couldn't smell a thing. So once the info was gathered we quickly moved on to the clock tower. The other WP's quickly fell because Aiden really knew her way thru the university. the stone barracks wall was fascinating and I must do some research on that since it piqued my interest so much.
Then to the last WP. We too sat on the steps, Danielle and I nutted out the 'anagram' we had a couple of ideas, but it was Cameron who spotted something behind which made us stand up and take notice! Off course that's the answer! Punched that into the checker and viola, we are on a winner.
Made our way to GZ, I spotted the little thing, Danielle signed us in and when returning the cache, it fell away from my fingers and rolled into never-never-land, I couldn't see it, luckily Danielle spotted it and returned it so I couldn't repeat the silly manoeuvre.
So this was the end of our adventures today, we chatted for another 30 mins before wandering off to Princes St where me and Danielle had parked our cars, free Sunday parking btw. A FP from me for the fun and the effort gone into setting this up.

I hadnt seen the Barracks Wall before. Very impressive. Great walk around the Uni grounds with TW. Thanks.
This one stretched the brain cells a bit, between TF and I, neither of us attending uni here it was an interesting walk around. Most impressed with the barrack wall and the range of questions. The final hurdle took a bit of working out for non academics but we got there in the end. Now that's a sensible place for the final. Another fav point here
After a nice walk around the University completing the Adventure Lab we had collected all the required information to solve this bonus. However deciphering it was easier said than done and after a bit of head scratching the CO kindly gave us a hint which put us back on track.
Once at GZ it was a nice quick find and we were pleased it was relatively muggle free.
Thanks tuolei for an educational University Challenge.

I finished the AL part on a previous trip, but didn't get the bonus. I returned today to finish the job.
Parking was ridiculously impossible, so after a few loops I just parked in a 10 minute space and ran over to GZ to find the cache. TFTC.

Had a free afternoon so came in to town to do this Adventure Lab ....
Needed a nudge for the last part...good to get the Green Tick!
Very enjoyable thanks.

Found the Lab WPS on Wednesday during lunch last week and decided to do the research at home for the bonus. Got a slight nudge as had one piece wrong and decided to find this on the way to the event planned today. After a walk from the CBD on the way to the event picked up the final on the way. I think this is a very well thought out lab with a slight twist to the usual labs and made for a fun outing so FP will be awarded.
Cheers

After a fun event in the Domain, I headed back this way with Andy to have a go at completing this Ad Lab. He had already finished it, but was kind enough to join me in my hunt for the clues, and give me a nudge to work out the bonus. Nicely done, well laid out and sneaky final, cool cache, cheers
With some late work cancelations this morning I found myself at a loose in the city. I decided to take the opportunity to find the two new lab caches in the city. The associated adventure lab went off without a hitch. I enjoyed the walk and the stroll down memory lane. Lab cache done it was time to sit down and solve the puzzle. I noted some amount of confusion in the previous logs so used a PAF to clarify things. A gentle nudge gave me the lightbulb moment and the checker agreed with my solution. Then it was off to the GZ where the excellent hint helped me complete the formalities. Cheers for the adventure lab and for this bonus hide!
Took a trip to the city for a couple of hours with AliGle and worked on some of the Adventure Labs here. Enjoyed our walk around the Uni doing this one, then sat on the steps at the Choral Hall working on the puzzle. Nothing looked obvious to begin with, then I had an idea about the letters involved, did a quick bit of research online and the answer was soon at hand! Headed to GZ and found the cache after a short search. TFTC!
Took a day trip into the city with Vistra. First time in a while given how things have been this year. Had fun wandering around the university doing the adventure lab there and managed to then solve the puzzle quite quickly to grab the bonus. FP for the lab and lovely walk around the uni.
Supernanny, Mrs Jag and I met up this afternoon for a wander around the University. I really enjoyed the Ad Lab and had no issue with the ad lab answers but boy, without google I would have failed at University Challenge. Once we had all the answers the real challenge came and after about 30 mins of bouncing ideas and coming up with nothing, I reached out to the CO to confirm we had the correct answers. Yes we did, and thankfully he gave us a wee nudge on what we should do with them. A FP given for taxing my brain and proving I was correct that I wasn't university material all those years ago and didn't waste my time going.
Had a busy morning with family today....but had made a plan to meet up with Merlot58 and MrsJag50 in town this afternoon to do Tuolei's new Adventure Lab around Auckland University!
We really enjoyed it...
Luckily parking is free on Sundays and I managed to get a great car park on Princes Street.
The hard part came when we had to do this bonus!
We tried all manner of things.
We checked with the CO to make sure we had the correct answers which we did have.
He kindly gave us a big hint and then we were off to the final.
Many thanks!

Met up with Merlot58 and Supernannny to complete this adventure lab bonus on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Our timing was great as there were not many students around, and those that were around were busy with studying and took no notice of us. We had a lot of fun gathering the information at the various waypoints, and then we became stumped. We tried various combinations, but nothing worked. An SOS to the CO confirmed we had all the answers correct and with a wee nudge we had the final answer and got the green tick on the geochecker. Once at the final gz, it didn't take us long to locate this tiny cache. FP for a fun afternoon.
A fun little puzzle solve and find with cyclical caching after completing the adventure lab. Nicely done. Took a couple of sweeps of GZ before we had the little blighter in hand but we got him. And not surprisingly a blank log, so joint [FTF] with cyclical caching. TFTC!!!
Was nearby grab a few caches, as I went to head home my phone dinged about this new AL, I took a look, thought it would be too off course from my route home to justify, but after setting google maps, I realized I would practically drive past it.
So with that I raced off to the AL, the mystery hadn’t published yet, but I carried on.
Grabbed the five way points and headed back to the car. Enjoyed the walk around campus as I had never really been there before.
Right as I returned to the car I noticed a new icon on the map and realized it was this bonus cache.
Armed with the answers already and no one else nearby, I started toward the solve.
Got a bit stuck up on Q4 and google wasn’t every helpful, but fortunately the CO knows my disability on that one and gave me the necessary info.
Just as I was finished up my answers, I looked up, uh oh! FMZ just finishing up the first WP for the AL and walking to the second.
I hailed him over to my van and we decided to make the solve together. Enter a massive overthinking feast!
In the end, we came up with the totally logically answer, but used 800% brain capacity to do it!
Went to grab our prize, which was so perfectly placed it alluded up for a few minutes. Log was signed and we carried on!
Thanks Tuolei for the fun AL and bonus!
Happy to claim joint {FTF} with FMZ on this one!
