The first day of 2021 started with an event then went on with a morning of caching around Jerrabomberra.

A good crowd turned up to celebrate the start of the year and along the way there was plenty of chatting and planning. It could be a busy year !

Awesome turn out again! Nice to chat with everyone and catch up on the first day of 2021. We popped down and went and got a few caches nearby, but I only got two that I have had on my to do list for a while. Then had to go to a family lunch.

Thanks for the donuts, they went down well. And of course tfte Joolay!!!

More like a park and grab for me due to work. Had a lovely donut before heading back to ikea to keep the world safe from overpriced lounge room sets.

Cache 6972 on 1 Jan 2021.

This has indeed turned out to be the first cache of 2021 for me, but others I spoke to had already several caches found by the time of this event! No hangover for me, except if you count 2020 as causing a hangover...? Which I reckon it does. A great turn out and a fun way to get started thinking about caching plans for 2022.

Lovely to catch up with everyone and meet some more local cachers, and even better to go on as a group to find some trickier (for me) hides. Thank you - and happy new year everyone!

After a reasonably late night moderately celebrating the New Year I managed to roll out of bed this morning just in time to make today's event. A quiet chat with a few regulars before heading off around Commonwealth Park with others for a find or two. Thanks to Joolay for organising this early morning welcome to 2021.

Attended with many others! Great to catch up! Lots of chit chat - and the cinnamon donuts were yummy! Then went for a walk with others - to collect caches that I have already found, but a nice walk and way to continue the event. ... Thanks for organising Joolay!

Decided to attend the event real last minute, but with no hangover from a lack of alcohol consumption last night, I decided it was a nice time to catch up and meet more cachers. Thank you to all those that I met today and had good chat with and it was nice to tick some more caches in the area off my list.

It was great to see so many people had survived New Year's Eve and were able to turn up for this the first Event for 2021 which is already better than last year as there was no smoke hanging around. This was fantastic - nice to meet some new people and start seeing some familiar faces!

Happy new year! Glad to have attended this event and to meet up with many lovely faces as my first outing for 2021. I was extremely hungover (lmao) from the night before so Mum kindly dropped me off; and with powerade in hand, I ate food and socialised a heap. There were some lovely conversations before a lot of groups went to find particular caches in Commonwealth Park: was such a wholesome walk around! A great event, hopefully a sign for what's to come in 2021: TFTE Joolay!

After a whirlwind afternoon yesterday of will we or won’t we have to leave to return to QLD. With no grand announcements from Anastasia we elected to stay the additional day as planned. Being a slightly shy bunny my boys acted as wingmen for me this morning. However, as per usual at events it’s not long until someone strikes up a conversation and the time flies. All to soon and after a sneaky donut for King Lizard it was time to depart and make our way out of Canberra after just a few detours of course!

A great location for a morning event. This was a lovely way to kick off the new year. Thanks for hosting Joolay.

While 2020 was personally and professionally challenging and then you add in a pandemic, 2021 had a lovely start with this event and a few caches along the way. Hopefully the theme for this year will be good laughs and good health. TFTC

Have to make a last minute dash to Canberra from Brisbane for family reasons, but will certainly have time to attend an event or two. I’ll be bringing King Lizard with me as well.

Great to have this morning event a little later in the day. Should be good to attend.

Not sure what the plans are gonna be for the night before, but I'll try and come to this; it sounds fun! Here's to the end of 2020 and the beginning of a hopefully better 2021!

Not sure it will be my first find for 2021, but it's in the running.
