Big day today. Up early in Forth and ready for Parkrun. Trying to do all the mainland Tassie Parkruns so off to Wynyard to tackle theirs with 4 stretches on the beach. After PR we went for Brekkie at the Vault, cool place with great coffee and produce but not very imaginative in the breakfast stakes. Filled us up anyway. We then cached our way back to Forth. I did have a couple of dnf that were just too good for me, sadly too far to come back for as our time in Tassie comes to an end.We had forgotten how beautiful the coast is along here, amazing and once again lucky with more excellent weather. We had a long but rewarding day out. Thanks to all the CO for placing and maintaining caches for us to find. We found some great hides today. We spent a while here but couldnt unearth the cache, perhaps the bush has overgrown the hide. No doubt its there we just couldnt see it today. TFTH 2ystassies
Tasmania Trip Day 4. My first full day in Tasmania was based out of Burnie. I did a few caches around own before it got too busy and then expanded the area to caches in the Burnie Region. Once I had done that for half the day, I headed a bit further west to get my next county. I enjoyed visiting Wynyard and the Table Cape area, even if it was fogged in. Did I say it was supposed to be a heat wave ? They are warning for one, but I got quite wet at times today. I headed back to Burnie for another quiet night trying to do some logging. I am pretty sure I found the covering for the cache, but I did not find a container here today. Thanks.Albida
Sadly we didnt have time to back track to the bonus as we were headed in the other direction
Having ourselves a little caching tour today after days of miserable weather. Back again for another search for the prize bouyed by the "found" logs prior to this. So, we found all the telltales as outlined in the hint and we're spot on the co-ords. But nothing here as far as we can see. There's always another time 2y'stassies.
Jetstar was having a sale…. in the middle of winter, for a destination further south than I already live. That sounds like a great idea!
So a plan for a 4 night whirlwind tour of the northern part of the state was hatched. I’ve seen lots of this beautiful state, but haven’t found a single cache. With plenty of challenges to tick off, and a long list of targeted caches, this week is the time to turn that around.
After flying in last night, today sees an ambitious schedule with plans to cache all the way to Ulverstone for the CITO and event, and then on to Stanley.
Ok, this cache became quite an ordeal, and for none other than my own fault. It was getting late and the sun had set with only limited light left. I set off for the cache with torch in hand however the gps didn’t want to get any closer than 15m. It must be up on top I thought.
The clouds had thickened and a mist of rain was now falling. I sort of found a pathway up the hill to the cliff tops but it soon got treacherous and I realised I must be in the wrong spot. I read the hint and description and sure enough it was back where I first started looking.
Back down I go. Arriving at GZ for the second time, the GPS wanted to play ball and the cache was quickly found… quickly that is after the 20mins of mucking about prior! It pays to stop and check information and consider options before rushing off!
Thanks 2y'stassies for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Out and about chasing ALs and some caches with a few favourite points or caches close to AL WPs.
The AL was quite interesting and it made us read lots of information. I think we have been to some of the WPs before but we never get tired of some of these places!
Thanks for the AL and this bonus. We loved our walk and would you believe that a woman had just been for a swim??? A favourite point from us.

Great find right on the beach! The adventure lab was awesome. Thanks for the bonus cache.
Found it with a bit of persistence, though my GPS was about 6 m out. Enjoyed the AD LAB, although as I was coming from the North so it was a bit frustrating having it sequential. I did it all the same and it's a beautiful area, thank you.
While I completed the Adventure Lab a few months ago it was towards the end of the day so I didn't have time to locate the bonus cache. Today the find was made but after a considerable wait. A toddler was playing cave girl in the cave pictured by the previous loggers while older muggles were with her so I sat on a log and waited for them to vacate the area. When they finally left it appeared that someone had been wandering around the area of GZ which led me to believe the cache must be nearby. Sure enough a reasonably quick find was made. Cache and contents were in good condition.
We were disappointed not to find your cache today but we found some lovely nearby rock and wood sculptures. Thanks for the challenge and bringing us to this lovely spot.

Cache soon found after completing the AL over a couple of days. TFTC.

This one took us a little while to find but trusting the hint we soon had cache in hand!
While on a day trip to Wynyard to see the tulips we did the Lab Cache part of this along the way.
After seeing the tulips we completed the final part of the lab and received the co-ordinates.
With these in hand we headed to GZ to find this bonus one.
Took a few minutes to find the cache but the well described hint helped a lot.
Thanks for setting up the cache, it was a cool spot to visit!

Completed the associated lab cache a few weeks ago but couldn't look for the bonus as we didn't get the final coordinates due to a phone malfunction.
Thanks to the CO's for supplying us with the necessary information.
Today we were heading to Stanley to cache so stopped to have a look for this one.
After a short walk along the beach we arrived at GZ but it took quite a while to uncover this one.
Thanks 2y'stassies for your help with the coordinates for this one and for placing it in the first place.

Did the Adventure Lab today. Had an interesting conversation at the first stop with two ladies who call this their coffee seat! All good at stop 2 but at stop 3 couldn't find the lighthouse!!! Duh! Mr Beetle spotted it straight away.
The coordinates for this one came up but disappeared almost instantly and we couldn't get them up again. Think the problem is our phone as it did the same thing recently with one of the Sheffield Adventure labs. Need to update the phone as the full battery went down to 30% just doing the 5 elements of the Lab cache.
Will have to return to this one next time we are down this way. Pity as we were looking forward to the challenge of finding this one that has caused others problems.
Thanks.

No luck after a substantial search and being bitten by flies in the process haha
Exploring around Wynyard for the first time today and decided to collect some caches. After completing the adventure lab cache, we received the coordinates for this bonus. However, due to the very high tide and wild weather including battering winds and heavy rain, we decided against trying to access this cache. Will have to get it another time.
Finally completed the attached Ad Lab after a partial attempt whilst waiting for a plane to come in from King Island some montha ago. However on this occasion we could not/did not put our hands on the bonus. after conferring with a fellow cacher, and taking into account the massive growth of weeds and other undergrowth, we will leave this for another go whilst watching from the sidelines. TFTC all the same 2y's.
Completed with Mrs Oz KEG during our Christmas 2021 Tassie trip. AFter driving most of the day chasing waypoints for a Hobart to Canberra windmill multi (which took us to Devonport) we thought we would drive over to Stanley and make our way back finding all of the lab caches along the way back to Devonport. A nice quick find, TFTC.
Omg that took forever. Phone compass wouldn’t settle and I nearly gave up many times but rechecked everything and reread the description and finally had it, signed it and returned it. Then had to run back to the car before the rain got too heavy which also nearly killed me. But I survived to write this log.
Hi 2y'stassies....had an unscheduled trip Burnie way with an hour or so to fill in, so headed to Wynyard for the Ad Lab tour.
Thoroughly enjoyed all the locations.
The bonus cache had me going in circles, even though coords were spot on.
Think I was looking for something bigger but after looking at a nearby location and backtracking I spied the hide.
The cache is in exc condition.
Many tftc....very much appreciated...cheers ST.

Last cache for the day. We ordered pizza and had 20 minutes, so we popped off to find this cache. Found the cache and returned to find the pizza cooked ready for us

3 days off from work, and Geo Kid O joined me on a journey to Stanley and then down along the western explorer road towards Corinna. We have a great time finding a number of caches and driving a road I had not travelled on before.
The Western Explorer road was closed for a while and recently had been reopened with a new bridge near Balfour. Some very interesting sights along the way, with part of the road feeling more like a forest track, and other parts felt like a place where no one else has gone in the past, other than on the road. The open button grass plains were amazing along with the mountain views.
We stayed in Stanely, and the caches in and around Stanely were very good, including one walk to the top of the Nut. Gee that is a steep 400 metre walk.
Thank you for the cache which was part of our journey

Thanks for this bonus mystery cache 2y'stassies.
The GeoGSP and I had been up since sunrise for an early tip-toe through some tulips! After grabbing a coffee and some food, it was time for some geocaching. I have a couple of close friends that live in Wynyard and have made a lot of visits over the last 15 years, and I still love exploring it. The adventure lab cache was great and really highlighted Wynyard, and this bonus was is a fantastic location.
Took a little minute to locate, but referred to the hint and trusted the coords and it was soon revealed. All is well at GZ. A favourite from me.

I finally managed to turn a frowny face in to a smiley face on this one this morning.
Upon arriving at the location, the GPS was giving me some dodgy indications. After letting the GPS settle in for 10 minutes or so, it pointed to a very accurate set of co-ordinates.
Many thanks for this hide and many others 2y'stassies.

I did the Adventure Lab a while ago and had a quick look for this cache but wasn’t able to find it. I thought it was because it was getting dark but maybe it had already disappeared. Great to see it is back . A quick find today thanks to the helpful hint. TFTC .
After a lovely long weekend in Stanley and surrounds we are heading back today, via Launceston, but of course having lots of geocaching stops along the way.
We really enjoyed visiting all the locations and collecting all the information for the Adventure Lab and this bonus cache has brought us to a fabulous location. Pleasant stroll to gz and soon had cache in hand, signed and replaced. Thanks for the Adventure Lab and the Bonus Cache.

Following the recent DNF, we checked the cache today and to our amazement the grass has grown considerably and has fallen over to create a thick mat about 20cm deep. We can only assume that the cache and the rock against which it was hidden are well and truly buried. So we have replaced the cache in a slightly different location and provided some adjustments. See the cache description for the details.
Haha...... Maybe I haven't lost my Geocaching Mojo after all. Thanks for the update 2y'stassies. I will endeavor to turn a frowny face in to a smiley face on this one soon.
I had a look for this one on Feb 7, 2021 and didn't log it as a DNF.
Had another look today without success.

Wow! Our most enjoyable Adventure Lab to date. And our 900th find!
Sticking with the true to Tassie weather, we have been rained on, strong wind, cold & now sitting in the baking sun as it starts to drop in the sky!
Having not completed any caches in this area, we took our time to take in everything this AL had to offer. We kissed by (garden) lovers fountain, took in the local historic buildings, looked at the scenery and had a tour through the lighthouse!
The lighthouse was fantastic, and the tour guide was passionate (we were the second group he had taken through after his shift had ended)! The stories, the history, the beauty of the building, and eventually lingering at the top to watch the boats (spirit and Toll) leaving, the birds flying below & even a rainbow sprawled out across the ocean, was our absolute highlight.
Now sitting by the final location reminiscing about where geocaching has taken us & all the lovely people we have met along the way, makes us feel lucky to be involved in such a fun hobby.
Thank you to 2y’stassies for being a big part of our geocaching adventure and for bringing us here.
Of course this is most deserving of a favourite point.
We will include more pictures on our log once we have returned home.

Today we explored Penguin and Wynyard with whitewebbs and gooseandegg collecting caches along the way and this was one of them.
Cache and contents were in good condition, we enjoyed our wander ariund Wynyard.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment, an enjoyable day with great company.

Another big day of caching as out and about today with Tassie Trekkers and gooseandegg. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around Wynyard and the location of the final cache. A well set out and easy to follow Adventure Lab Cache. Deserves a favourite.
We had dinner booked at the Stanley pub at 6.30pm and were cutting it fine but we could not leave without finding the adventure lab bonus cache.
The egg, Miss J and Miss E had left us a few hours ago and gone to settle in at the hotel in Stanley hence me travelling with whitewebbs. We met up again with Tassie Trekkers and were soon at a familiar place where, after a few polite hellos with others in the area, we soon had the cache in hand.
Thanks 2y'stassies, Wynward is the eggs favourite town on the coast and we always enjoy a visit here (she stopped in with the kids earlier). The adventure lab series was most enjoyable as was the bonus cache. A favourite point from us.

After completing the Wandering Wynyard Adventure Lab we made our way to the final coordinates to find this bonus cache. The whole experience was very enjoyable on a warm but overcast afternoon. All the locations were easy to access and the answers to the questions made themselves obvious after a bit of thought. We would recommend this adventure lab and bonus cache to anyone who'd like to have a look at Wynyard and learn something about the town. With an empty logbook we'll claim FTF at 3.18pm. TFTC
