This cache ended up being the last on our Adelaide Hills holiday. We had spent the afternoon caching around Gumeracha and had timed the drive home so we would be back at our accommodation in Hahndorf for a strict 4pm popping of the cork. The one thing you probably shouldnt do is make a multi the last cache as you can never quite gauge how long it will take. It only takes one moment where you prove your high school mathematics teacher wasnt wrong when they said you were a waste of time. The calcs and hide didnt take long although like always twenty cars had to drive by just as I got out. We were home right in time to hear the cork pop as planned. tftc

Naughtybunny and I enjoyed exploring Lobethal and Gumeracha finding some amazing caches around the area. This was a small multi in-between the two. We gathered the initial clues easily and then it was off to GZ. we found the cache quickly as these hiding spots are becoming more frequent. Just had to wait for the golfers to bugger off and then we had it. TNLN. Cheers.

I always find Kenton Valley interesting. My Great, Great, Great Grandfather was Richard Sandercock, who emigrated to South Australia at the behest of his Father in law William Stanbury. He lived and worked at William's nearby Berry Hill property. (William was a convict - a horse thief - made good, and was granted the land at Kenton Valley in 1846 after a full pardon) Richard had masses of children, one of whom was John Sandercock, who also had 14 or 15 children and my Great Grandmother Vena Sandercock was the ninth of those. Vena married Frederick Lindsey Langley, and had 3 children, the eldest of whom was my Nana.

All the Sandercocks and their hundreds of offspring would have gone to the nearby Primitive Methodist Church in Hartley Vale. Apparently that church is now a ruin on private land. I wonder if there's a Used 2B a Church cache there!?

Saturday caching day today, despite the weather with the odd shower or two to avoid also kept the muggles at bay making for a easier search at several locations throughout the day, enjoying some country back roads one of the pleasures of caching, this was a quick find after collecting the required info before heading over to GZ

We watched the women’s TDU Stage 2 race come through Gumeracha and then worked our way to Uraidla for the finish. We found this one along the way.

Back in Adelaide for the Tour Down Under and adding a few new smiley faces along the way.

What a year Sandyofthesea and I have had. We kitted out the Prado and took off from Perth, Western Australia at the start of April 2022 to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. We started with the Nullabour, Eyre and York Peninsulas, the Riverlands, visited family in Victoria and then back in SA it got cold. Flinders and the Oodnadatta Track was amazing and we finally warmed up in Dalhousie Springs. The Alice beckoned and then a change of plan and we ended up tackling the Tanami Track to the Kimberley and Bungles Bungles. Territory Day in Darwin was unhinged - please try and do it! The Gulf, the coast and the car breaker ‘Old Tele Track’ to the top of Cape York. This is a must but it’s not easy! Eventually made it to Brisbane to get some fixes to the car….. let’s see where we end up.

Freddo, I found Used 2B a Church Micro #0214 - Kenton Valley today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

After being out north doing a little bit of maintenance took the long way home to find this, another Used2B a Church. Numbers easily obtained and quickly crunched to get co-ords the checksums liked. A short drive later and, thanks to the hint, didn't even need to take device out of car to find cache. Not wanting to damage another muscle, decided not to attempt to pull cache straight off but to slide it off. Log stamped and cache replaced with a loud clunk.
Thanks to Freddo for putting out this cache for us all to find..

Found It!
Jesus has left the building. Someone with more money has moved in. I visited WP1 many months ago now, but there was someone next to GZ chasing a small white dimpled ball that day. Today I came back and there was no one around so I soon found the cache!

Data collection for this multi was straightforward. Then it was a short distance to GZ where accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Freddo for the cache.

Mr Tardis was out grabbing a few caches in the hills. I stopped here and after some calculations I drove over to GZ. I knew I was getting close, when the extreme magnetic field from the cache hide diverted the car towards it. I'm happy and not surprised to report that I found the cache at the epicenter of the magnetic disturbance which was also the first place I looked - don't you just love it when that happens?

Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Freddo the Non Believer.

Today I needed a multi find. As it’s a a Sunday I thought a drive in the hills would be nice to find a further away multi. Sadly my target in Springton was a dnf but I did manage to find another on the way back to town. Talked a lot. Attended an event and collected some rubbish and then back into the hills to find some Used2B churches and a few other caches.
Ended up with 12 finds for the day and a lab cache. Happy with that.
Glad to get my required multi here TFTC Freddo

Out & about with Gizmo's Gang & CPwanderer.
Our website researcher already had the end point to this multi,
so all we had to do was to find a park & a cache, both were easily done.
The nearby green was busy too due to the nice weather, thanks for the cache Freddo.

I pass by here often a never knew there was a used 2B a church hidden away here.

Purrfect Di said let's go caching straight after work... that's why she's perfect Razz

So off we went, over the hills, and thataway...

We came across your cache Freddo , and it gave us joy this New Year's Eve.

Caching seemed so much safer than mixing it up with the crowds Big Grin

Looks like a nice home for someone now. Everyone believes in something. I believe I just drove past the cache!

Find 3186

Today I was navigating for e.gregory1 for a day of caching in the hills taking the alternative route to the Community Celebration Event at Sandy Creek. [Sandy Creek Sandybration](https://coord.info/GC8HJC4)

The required information was collected, the coordinates for GZ calculated and the cache was found in good order. In the obvious place.

By age I have qualified to use a green dinosaur stamp for my logbook entries.

Thanks to Fredoo for the multi cache.

It's Fine Elsewhere

17-Dec-20
Today Bob From Elsewhere and I headed out for a day of caching in the hills before ending up at the Community Celebration Event at Sandy Creek. We mostly focussed on the more simple and straightforward multicaches, but also found a Wherigo and a few pre-solved Unknown caches that were close by on our route.

This was a nice quick multi and an easy find. I couldn’t believe (or understand why) this road was so busy today!

Bob added a green dinosaur stamp to most of his log entries. I’m not sure if there was any intended symbolism there.

Thanks Freddo for the cache.

An early start today setting my alarms for ridiculous time so I could attend the breakfast event and arrived after gridge but before anyone else, so that was a good start to the day. [^]
I had a big day planned with this event followed by the CITO then caching with locus cache and earthlight. Big Grin
After a nice strong coffee I was awake and ready for the day which didn't look too good weatherwise, but the rain stopped long enough for us to collect a few bags of rubbish at the CITO. It was very cold and windy but the rain held off for most of the day and we had a fun day caching our way to the hills after picking eathlight up. We managed to get quite a few multis, a couple of puzzles and various trads that we happened to be driving past that one or other of us hadn't found. Cool
After picking earthlight up we found a few caches close by before deciding that we would head towards Houghton. [^]

Gathered the info needed, did the sums then made a quick find at GZ and even ran into Brisal5 who had come to find the cache as well. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache Freddo. Smile

These early morning events sure make for more caching timeRazzBig GrinWink
Today I was confusedRed Face, so what else is new[?]Razz, and pulled into Vili's before realising there were no cars I knew in the carparkSurprisedSad[xx(]Surprised So off to O'Connell Street Bakery I go![^]
Afterwards it was a CITO at Pooraka[^] and luckily the rain stopped just in timeCool for us to wander around and collect rubbish[^]Smile
JJ52 and I then drove to earthlight's house where we all piled into the Corolla and headed out for a fantastic day filled with laughs and cache findsBig Grin[^]SmileBig Grin
By day's end, I'd found 22 Smilecaches while JJ52 had about 10 moreSurprisedBig Grin and earthlight had much less Smilethan both of usSad as she frequently travels the area we cached!
We even caught up with brisal5 at Kenton ValleySurprisedCoolSmileBig Grin, as he grabbed his daily multi[^], although I did have to ring him to get him to turn around because he didn't see me waving like a lunaticRazz as he drove past usSurprisedWink

It's fun catching up with other geocachers in the 'wild' so to speakRazzCoolBig Grin[^]Wink especially when you get to ring them and
swear at themRazzWink
Oh wait, this is a church multi so maybe I shouldn't swearRazzWinkBig GrinSmileWink
Like brisal5, we dodged the same TwistedbusTwisted he dodged after I'd run in and bought cherriesSmile[^]

Only one of the three goals set at the start of the year was now possible and should be complete by Christmas. [^] So pressure off and back to caching when and where the whimsy takes me whilst I ponder some goals for next year. Cool

I will need a multi cache to be able to complete the calendar by August next year. So may as well get one today. Razz This was my target and only 19 kms away as the crow flies. Damn pity I couldn't fly and a longer drive had to be made. [^] One there the numbers obtained, some calc's and off to GZ where once again I had to wrestle with a Freddo Uber Magnet to release the cache so I could stamp the log. Smile Cache replaced I get back in the car and I hear some beeping. I see a bus turning in so I thought I should get out of the bus stop near GZ. Surprised So I vacate and the bus doesn't turn in and I get a phone call. "You're a miserable unsociably b%^&%$%# [?] The Beeping was Locus cache with JJ62 and Earthlight. They had just done the same cache and gone to get some cherries. So a quick turn and a flash mob formed back at GZ!

You just never know who is watching!!!!![:o)][:o)]

***Thanks Freddo for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

We are nearing the end of the year so all challenges are coming to an end before the New Year and new personal challenges begin...only 3 days in December require caches to be found...

Today I needed 3 (I found 5)...I called my semi-muggle friend, Bron, after we'd finished work, to come along with me...and she did...
We headed out via Hahndorf -> Lobethal -> Gumeracha to collect the required caches...

We struggled to see the church behind the vines but saw a bit of it...
The numbers required we easy to spot and calculated the final location where the cache was located easily...the retrieval took a bit of muscles though Wink

It’s as easy as ABC. It’s as simple as doh ray me. And after crunching the numbers the cache was soon in hand. Well it would have been in hand except for the very powerful magnet. Did I used 2B stronger? Retrieved the log and signed. TFTC

26-Nov-20
Owl had a spare day, so decided to do a maintenance run. Some of it was necessary, some not, but all was punctuated by occasional passing caches. This was the second of the day and the numbers were soon crunched. A short walk later and not only was Owl's step counter off to a good start, but she had a swift smiley... after putting down her stuff to use both hands to drag the uber-magnetised cache out. Back to the car.... and then back to the cache to pick up her phone... and onwards! But at least it's silver for the Owl!

Found at 20:05, but I think I’ve been beaten!

Update: *FTF* @ 20:05. Turns out it was a repurposed log, hence the name ahead of mine.

As is often the case, a new cache is published within 3km of home, and I am down in Adelaide when it happens. Happily, all the usual suspects were otherwise indisposed this evening, giving me time to get here and make the find.

I think this is my first Freddo FTF. A red letter day!
