Any update on an ETA for a re-install. Has been out of action for a wee while now and looks like a nice week cache. In town near the area next week and keen to try and find it if possible.
Due to several did not finds and a description by one of the did not finds we are taking M5 Madness offline until we get a chance to reinstate. In the meantime suggest you head up north to F3 Futility.
Hummmm...my Second did not find for the day. I spent a good 20 mins with this one. Im confident that I found the hiding position..there was a telltale clue that something was there in the past. Me-thinks this one has been muggled. Hope im wrong, because plenty of geocachers before me have remarked at the ingenuity of this hide.

Despite the previous DNF's I was hereabouts and like a challenge. No cigar though despite and extensive search.
Had a quick look around for about 10 mins and found three golf balls, but no cache. We hope it hasn't gone missing. Thanks stubby holder for the challenge.
Nice spot. Couldn't come up with the odds though. Oh well. Thanks for showing us this area. Very nice place for a walk.
No luck with this one today. Where the GPS wanted me wasn't that logical so hunted around without success. Returned to the car, read the logs and returned but still no joy. One for another trip.
Nice little ride down the bike path from home.

Staying with Stubby Holder and the Red Flash before taking a tour of Cape York. As this was close by the airport we had to take a small detour before they dropped us of to catch our flight to Cairns. Quick find made easier by the fact that we had done F3-Futility a few days earlier.

Went late in the day looking for this one, could not find it. After about half an hour of looking, I managed to disturb a wasps nest - so took the hint and buzzed off
Didn't find this one after quite some rummaging.
Will have to try again another day

what a sensational cache, gps took me right there and within few minutes of rummaging ...ta-dah, great hide

Dropped in for a maintenance check. Repaired the cache container and dropped off a new log book. The immediate area is quite overgrown, but the cache can still be accessed from one angle without having to walk through neck high foliage. Left a travel bug.
Decided to try this 2nd cache while our stopover in Sydney. Didn't find it and were forced to give up as it started to rain on us.
I searched the area extensively but no luck, will try again next time I come near the airport.
another excellent hide found this morning great spot took coin no swaps alot of muggles around in early morning thanks
Came at 615pm after work Parked the car at the end of Eve st and walked along the bike track down past the little lake under the M5 and up to the cache. A Few bike riders pasted by and walkers but were all oblivious to my presence.
After a while searching GZ I was about to leave as it was getting late when I tried one more spot and came up with the goods what a great spot for a cache.
Left: Jeep coin that is meant to be in SA only.
Took: Nothing

I was being driven mad, the gps decided that the best way to find the cache was to park on the M5, absail off the bridge and then walk over. With all the major roads it took a few attempts to get into the correct lane on the right road to park near by. the cache is a good hide.
We drove around the world, before finally finding a place to park. As other people have stated, this has an excellent hiding place, though the plastic container is crumbling. TNLN, TFTC.
I had no trouble at all finding this (..with the requisite friends in tow who were probably getting increasingly irritated at my finding most of the caches today , as I'd hidden a cache only a few days ago with this same trick...
There was a surprisingly long time since the previous finder. The cache container is starting to perish a bit.
Left a Batmobile, but took nothing.

Found this one today after stumbling around for a little while. I only saw a couple of bike riders today the area was more or less mine. I wasted no time though swapping TB's and filling in the log book. TFTC
This TB I have dropped off is trying to get OS to find other F1 places if some one could get it on it's way, at least I got him as close as the Airport! Thanks

Tricky stuff!! After trying to look casual for all the cyclists that kept interrupting us we grabbed what we were looking for. Left diabetes TB.
I have been looking at this one for a while, thinking that I really should complete what I thought was a multi. Then I had a read last week & saw that it is now actually a Trad, so off I went....... only to fall short on the parking side of things.
Once I had all that sorted & worked out the best place to park, I headed off again today after I dropped a colleague off at the airport. Parked the car, and headed off for GZ, not really knowing what to expect from the various previous logs. What I found was that the coords were absolutely spot on - probably the most accurate I have ever had in caching - well done Stubby Holder. Then the cache was easily uncovered, and not a bad size either, given it's location.
The cache is a little cracked on the end, but should not pose any problems with water given the hiding spot.
Didn't do any swaps & no bugs or coins were transported either.
An excellent Cache - thanks for the hunt Stubby Holder.
Cheers.

On a ride to Brighton with muggle friends, thought I'd find this on the way. But alas just as we approach GZ, 4 muggle cyclists stop right in our search area. This seemed too coincidental. They said they were waiting for a friend. Yeah right! Decided to ride on by and get it on the way back.
GPS was pointing to the same spot. We searched in all the usual spots when I thought I'd try the unusual. This is a brilliant cache!
Very, very clever. Some people just have the best ideas and are very sneaky and clever all together. Muggle friends were astounded by the ingenuity.
Thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable find!
PS: I accidently ripped the ziplock bag containing the logbook. I didn't have a replacement. Could the next cacher please replace. Log book shouldn't get wet, considering its location.

Didn't expect to be getting this one today, or any time soon for that matter. I had written it off.
However on the way to 'Geocoin Exchange' I suddenly found myself there and couldn't resist another look.
Very nice, especially now that I could see it in the daylight, my previous losses had been in darkness, and it does make a difference.
I like how you think!
Did get a few bites from mozzies but it was worth it.
An unexpected TFTC.

Great cache - last one for the day...we all loved it. No trade. Thank you, Team Vainui.
Agree with everyone that the cache is quite clever. I was hoping that it wasn't hiden in a silly spot and I wandered around, and I was correct. Thanks for the great cache.
Fifth cache for the day and as i'm on my way to Brighton by bike, stopped to have a go at this one. Ingenious hiding spot- I'd love to see more of these excellent cache ideas.

Dodged the bikes and the golf balls to find a great hiding spot. Well done. Left fridge magnet and took key ring. Off to the airport now. Well done.

Hardest part was finding where to park without getting caught up on the M5. Co-ords were spot-on. Very clever cache location. Dropped off torch/whistle and TB "Air". TN
A bit of research led me to the correct parking spot only a short walk from the cache. After a brief search, I slipped, and my hand actually grabbed the cache to stop the fall. Does that count as a found, or a gift?
Good job
Nice easy find the second time around after some hard thinking between visits
Enjoyed this one
Thanks keener

Neat. A bonus 'multi'. There was a mowing team nearby when we arrived, so we sauntered past, along a freshly blow-dried path. They eventually left, and we turned around, and got down to hunting. A most excellent sneaky hide. TNLN, Thanks.
Found at 8:37am today. A fairly quick find. I think my mind was in the right zone for this one. I'd been past the spot a few times before I got my GPS. Finally decided to take a shot at it this time. TNLN, TFTC!
We had more trouble finding a place to park than we did have finding this cache. These bike paths are a great idea we have a lot of them in Melbourne. We enjoyed the walk to GZ and took about 15 minutes to find the cache, the GPS kept insisting that it was in a more likely spot

I had previously found WP one of this Cache after a couple of visits but been unable to find the final cache. Finally had some success this time though. Last time I was looking GZ had me a fair distance from this visit when it was pretty much on the mark. Well done on a tricky hide.
WP1 looks to be permanently fenced off. (Still not too hard to get to though!)

Just continued the stroll around sydney airport and ended up taking a quick look for this cache. Quick find although it was a bit harder to retrieve as everyone seemed to be using the path. Dropped of ladybug to continue her adventures.
At the risk of sounding a bit like everyone else. What an awesome cache!!! Ok, so I'm still pretty new to this, but this by far the most ingenuously hidden cache I have found.
I spent about 10 minutes rummaging through the waist high grass and lantana. Fortunately only one other cyclist went past while I was looking. I'm not sure if he thought I was peeing in the grass or if he just thought I was insane.
Left fridge magnet took nail clipper.

Today was just too bright and hot for us to be out geocaching, but we decided to pull off one quick cache that had been tempting us for some time. Parked about 100m from the cache and walked in. Fair number of cyclists today, and we got a few weird looks. At GZ, we started poking into large clumps of grass with no result. After about 2 minutes at GZ, geodad got a bright idea, and soon we were staring at this masterpiece of a cache with awe. We really admire the effort it took to set this up. We found a small patch of shade and sat down for some swapping.

Since I have made this a single cache only, I have been alerted to the fact that I stuffed up the coordinates for the final cache spot. I have now rectified this and apologise for any inconvenience.
Call me confused. In reading logs, especially those recent by dak's Emu Mob, I am not sure of whether WP1 is "intact" and whether this cache is find-able. Can anyone give some advice to a new geo-cacher? I am thinking of trying this cache this weekend.
There are so many options at WP1. I spent a long time searching and getting myself into various locations and positions to satisfy my need for numbers. I didn't seek any help via "phone a friend", 50/50 or ask the motorists.
Found it, at last, but not without more pain! I went back thisarvo after work, armed with information about what to look for, but still sceptical, because I knew that I had looked there thoroughly two nights ago. Well, I wasted more time looking for the elusive coordinates, to no avail. I looked all over the object in question; I even climbed the fence to get a better view of the other side, even though I was told that it would not be necessary to do this. I even looked at the same object on the other side of the M5, to no avail. Instead, I drew the attention of a local who was out walking his dogs. He wanted to know what I was looking for. I told him I was looking for something written on the object; he went off, not entirely happy.
After 30 minutes of this (2 hours now clocked up at WP1) I used my 'phone a friend' life line. With the final coordinates in hand, I set off to GZ. When I got there I despaired. The description says "near the end of the M5 tunnel". There wasn't a tunnel in sight. Stubby holder's idea of 'near' apparently doesn't coincide with mine. Just as I was getting down to the search, the muggle with the dogs came along again, and I asked him if the M5 tunnel was nearby. After catching me sniffing around suspiciously under the M5, and now lurking on open ground and asking about tunnels, he was understandably noncommittal (and more than a little aggressive). I explained what I was doing, what geocaching was about, and showed him my GPSr. Now that he knew I wasn't a terrorist, he pointed out where the tunnel entrance was, and went about his business. I snaffled the cache minutes later at 1935. Great container and hiding place. I made no exchange. Thanks for a real challenge.
By the way, if those coordinates are really written where I've been told they are, I'll eat my hat! My 'phone a friend' life line told me exactly what to look for and where, but there is nothing written there. However, given that Team Webguy found the information only eight days before my first visit, and given the way the coordinates are supposed to be written, it's hard to believe that they have rubbed off or faded. I would have to concede that I was perhaps too inept to see them. I'll put a watch on the cache; I'll be interested to see what future visitors turn up.

Aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!
I didn't realise there were visual clues. (Note to self: read the cache page thoroughly before venturing out!) I could have saved myself a lot of searching in and on many other things. Still, I thought I inspected the object in visual clue 2 pretty thoroughly. Obviously not.
Oh well! I'll get back there in a couple of days for another look.

After my note last night, a couple of people sent me emails telling me how to approach. I chose the West Botany Rd end (the intersection of Eve and Brennans, actually). I arrived at the waypoint at around 1840. When I left 90 minutes later, the light was fading with my spirits. Yes, I spent 1½ hours checking every square inch of what I assume to be GZ. Actually, my GPSr consistently pointed me 8m further on, under the M5! I assumed that the place to look was on the south, or Botany St side of the M5, as access to the north side was barred by yet another locked gate.
Of course, I didn't really know what I was looking for, except that it was not a micro. I looked over, under, on top of, and behind everything I could. I even stood back and looked at the graffiti in case there was a secret message therein. The required directions steadfastly resisted my efforts. I read the logs, and decided that I had indeed been looking too closely, so I tried taking an overview. Nothing worked. I didn't want to leave empty handed after spending that much time there, but I decided that other caches might be more profitable. Any hints or outright spoilers will be accepted with alacrity!
Desperately, dak.

This was to be my sixth find for the afternoon/night, however, once again, I couldn't find the easy way to WP1. At first I went into the golf driving range entrance, but the sign said that the gates closed in 50 minutes. I drove all the way to the end of the road--it's a great place to watch planes taking off and landing. I investigated the possibility of entering from a gate in West Botany St, but it seemed to be festooned with construction tape. I parked at the end of Eve St and followed the walking track beside the M5, but that veered off in the wrong direction. I gave it away. I suspect that the best access would be from West Botany St, but it will have to wait for another day. Any help would be appreciated. Maccamob told me that this one was worth doing.

On our way to somewhere else, we dropped by to have a stab at this one. Took me a while to locate WP1, had to change my point of view to get it right.
Then it was off to GZ, this was spot on and I think it is one of the best cache containers I have seen yet, quite nicely done.
Nothing small enough to fit in so we just grabbed leo the TB.
Cheers, this was a great cache and we enjoyed it heaps.

Took two goes to find WP1. The worst thing is we looked at the WP1 location several times on our first attempt but we did not see it, which is unbelievable as it is clear as day when you finally work it out. I don't know how we missed it before, I think as others have noted we were probably looking too hard for the WP. Also amazing to see so much life in the adjacent swamp, we observed fish and birds including a rather tame Kookaburra who let me walk by within a metre of his perch.
With the cache co-ords in hand we ventured forth. Considering how long it took to find WP1 we expected a long hunt, but finding the cache proved to be snap. Less than five minutes after we arrived at the general location (thanks stubby holder for the detailed co-ords;) XU9J4 had the cache in hand. Didn't have anything small enough for swaps, although my main mission was to drop off the "Water" TB.
This is a well thought out and constructed cache, well worth the maddening experience. Thanks Stubby Holder.

For the first attempt I completely missed WP1. It was either the magic of the M5 or the F*&%$^G obvious placement of WP1 that threw me off. On the second attempt it came within minutes... the luck of the second visit struck again.
With co-ordinates in hand off we went expecting that from here it was on, but I was able to find the cache within minutes, however during extrapolation you really have to use discretion.
This is a cache well worth doing.

I think I met the average of three visits to get this one. Had the right idea for the cache location on visit two, but just needed to turn my thinking around a bit to get the final location. Very clever indeed.

This was my second attempt at this cache.
I found WP1 on the first visit after a bit of searching. I think that I was looking too hard as I should have located it far sooner than I did.
The cache was illusive at GZ. I went back to WP1 to double check the co-ords, but still no luck.
On the way home I had a sneaky suspicion about the cache location, but the proof would have to wait.
I found the cache in less than 60 seconds on the second visit after dodging a wayward golf ball! [B)]
Took flashing bellybutton thing and left rolling toy head thing.
Fantastic location Stubby Holder. A very enjoyable hunt.

I now understand the two possibilities for where name of this cache is derived. Firstly, it drove me mad trying to find this and then I had to use two lifelines. This was my third attempt. Secondly Stubbyholder must be some sort of evil mad genius to have dreamed this one up.

FAILED AGAIN! We really are hopeless. Even with the help of the photo hints, we still couldn't find WP1... We know we are in the right spot, but it just eludes us. Will wait for other positive results before returning.
Had plenty of trouble at WP1. Wasn't sure if we should proceed past the locked gate, but decided to anyway. Without the aid of the photos, we looked within 10cm of what I am assuming to be the hiding place of WP1. Will attempt again later knowing that we were looking in the correct place.
FINALLY !! After several lengthy attempts to Lead-line this cache, I had an impromptu opportunity for another quick crack at it while on a bike ride from Homebush to the airport. My sleepless nights of pondering the final hiding place of this cache paid off and I walked straight up to it this time. This would have to be one of the most satisfying finds I've had, only because of my horrid history with this. Thanks Stubby holder - An excellent cache.
No joy on my first attempt at this one. It didn't help that it was getting dark and I hadn't brought a torch.

Today was my 3rd visit to this cache. I was pessimistic after having searched long and hard on previous occasions, but Hecta suggested that we give it a go.
We hadn't been there long when Hecta suggested "Why don't you look {location deleted}."
"Oh no - it will never be there," I replied. I kept searching (and not finding).
Hecta decided to look anyway, and sure enough she found it! This is indeed a sneaky cache!
Removed a dead Chuppa-chup, left a sparkly-belly-button thing.

This was my 8th and final cache for the day and another Swampy-Rat venture. Knabbed WP1 after a few minutes looking. GZ on the other hand had us chucking backflips... "Its been trashed, yeh I agree. Theres nowhere to hide a cache here" then like a bolt of lightning from the phone we had. Great hiding spot, one I'll definitely use myself. TNLN. Thanks Stubby Holder
After my fifth attempt and some help from swag aft my frustration is now over and the prize secured this my first mulit cache it is not really all that hard looking back now
Tried last night with no success. Second time got it right. In the cold light of the morning things are much clearer, a great hiding spot where I figured on the first trip but was too blind to see. Took pins left ocky strap.
What a beauty.. looked and looked but I can't give up... looked at WP1 several times, knew it was there but could not see it.. maybe 0200 had something to do with it.
Looked for WP2 , now I smell like ouzo. and the geodog wants one
But got too annoyed and had worked to do, so returned at 0400 and found it straight away, actually within 30 seconds of reaching GZ.
Fantastic effort with the spot.
Left a 8210 leather carry case,
Just read the clues, carefully.

Found whilst on holiday from Tassie. It was near to Ansett's Lament, so caching partner 'Wookie' drove over for a quick go at this cache - quick isn't something that happened though! Took ages finding WP1, despite actually looking at it several times, as Homer says. . .Doh! WP2 was equally elusive and we gave up after the torch went flat (we were there at 03:00). Drove home to read the logs and drove straight out again to find the cache in no time at all - I'd actually touched it the first time - very clever hiding spot! If you read the logs to this cache you can not fail to find it, some of the hints given are just too obvious. BAck to Tassie tomorrow, got 4 cache finds this time, hopefully I'll have the resources to find more next time I'm here - thanks guys.

WoooHooo, Yippeee, Yihhahh.... The Madness is relieved... . Found it at approx.19:25.
After 8 years in Sydney I am leaving to move home to Victoria and was picking my wife up
from the airport to accompany me on the drive down. I said to her that it may be a while
before we can attempt this cache again so lets have a quick look. So with the GPSr packed at
home we thought that we would give it a go any way as we were pretty confident of where GZ was.
This too was our second attempt at WP2 and sure enough with in 5mins the cache was in our hands
and like everyone else in a spot that I was sure I checked last time.
No swaps as that bag too was packed away for the drive down south.
Thanks Stubby Holder for a frustrating but enjoyable cache...

After hearing about everyone's problems with this I went prepared for a long hunt - and I got one. Spent ages looking for WP1 with no luck so I decided to test the "2nd visit" theory. I went back to my car, checked the visual clues and went back to look. Sure enough I found it within seconds, even though I was sure I had looked in that place the first time.
The same thing then happened with the final cache. Once again I made two visits and found it straight away in a place I had looked on my first visit.
Weird.

Inspired by the success of SWAG Cade and aft, I decided to have another go at this one. This is a really great cache and it was very satisfying to find it. Left some pins and took a muppet man. My car once broke down right next to this spot which was quite embarrassing.
Unfortunately there is now a lot of graffiti at WP1 which was not there last time.
Great one Stubby Holder.

I had trouble at WP1, gave up and found it just as I was leaving... I don't know why I didn't see it earlier?
Met SWAG Cade at WP2 and searched for 1/2 hour... Cade found the very well hidden stash...
A good cache all round

Woot! Found both! After a looooonnnngggg search for WP2, but it was soooo worth it in the end.
Thanks to some help from SWAG Aft who had brought the print-out from the website with him, we were able to 'change our tact' a little, and after much head-scratching, GPS doubting, and 'almost give-ups', SUCCESS!
Good little cache too filled with some nice goodies.
Left CadeCard #1 and took a funky braclet.

We ventured back here today after seeing the sucess rate of people finding WP1 on the second attenpt and sure enough we found it literally within 5mins... Go figure, I searched this spot for ages last time...
So with WP1 loaded in it was off to the cache, but as the rain was getting heavier during the search we had to abandon. This is definitely a work in progress...

Thought I had better add my Purple Frown Face to this one as others have in the past. Seeing that there are some very capable cachers that have failed this one on the first attempt as well does make one feel a little better...
I searched the area for WP1 for over an hour, originally on the wrong side (but soon after at what must have been GZ, with a lock on all satalites above at one stage), definitely looked familiar to the hints given but alas, no luck. If it's easier this time it must have been a doosey before....
Will return soon...

I thought it was time to try this one again. Interestingly I found WP1 almost immediately (after having searched for an hour for it last time). The actual cache still eludes me though.
I was definitely in the right place for WPT 1, looking at the visual clues, but didn't see anything. Will probably be back again some time.
We finally got around to having a go at this one, and we are buggered if we can find the first waypoint!
It's been changed to make it easier to find??
GZ for us was on the west side of the underpass, and we checked pretty much everything under the entire underpass and on the top walkway too, to no avail.
We assumed you didn't have to leave the fenced walkway.
Anyone else had a go recently?
---------------------------------
Ah, just found the visual clues for WP1!
We searched all around the pipe and didn't find anything, guess we must have missed it?
---------------------------------
If WP1 is where we think it is, and with all reports of others (experiened teams) having to come back multiple times to this one, perhaps the difficulty rating should be upped from the current 2.5?

[8] Not having much luck Stubby. I'll be back to this with a bigger eye! Keep checking
After a little more help and a few visits this was finally conquered. Ingenious Stubby. Never even thought to look there. Excellent
