Today we headed out for an adventure from Forth. Our aim was to visit the Paloona Dam, Lower Barrington and Sheffield for caches we didnt have time for last time we were in the area. This cache was missing last time we were here so it was good to rectify our prior dnf. TFTC and ongoing maintenance
Easy find after the adventure. Signed the log in slot #4. Thanks for the adventure and the bonus.
Thanks for the Cache MerelynTas, after a pleasant stroll around town and a look at the past through the eyes of local artists, I am rewarded with this treasure.Regards from Victourer
In Tassie for the next few months. So many great places to visit and so many different caches to find.Enjoyed doing this lab cache, with so many great murals around this cute little town. It was an easy enough find, once at GZ.Thanks NickandAbb for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
Some great murals visited doing the Adventure lab some time ago and it was a bonus to have a bonus cache to finish the tour.
Jetstar was having a sale…. in the middle of winter, for a destination further south than I already live. That sounds like a great idea!
So a plan for a 4 night whirlwind tour of the northern part of the state was hatched. I’ve seen lots of this beautiful state, but haven’t found a single cache. With plenty of challenges to tick off, and a long list of targeted caches, this week is the time to turn that around.
Todays adventure started with a sunrise walk around The Nut in Stanley before a road trip to Launceston via some country stops.
What a beautiful place to explore. Such a great area for a lab adventure.
Thanks NickandAbb for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

OzHockeyChick shouted me a return flight to Launceston for my birthday. So grateful for this awesome gift and so very pleased to have her with me to celebrate.
We got diverted to Hobart which definitely wasn't part of our tight schedule. Once we arrived in our original destination, we picked up the car and were on our way.
Such a gorgeous scene greeted us when we arrived at GZ. The grass was dowsed with frost and the sky was cerulean, stunning.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.

A 'Thelma & Louise' style weekend away with Geoturtle37, to celebrate her recent milestone birthday. We are flying in to Launceston on Friday afternoon, returning to Melbourne on Sunday evening. Our carefully planned itinerary includes selected LGAs, placement dates, DTs and high faves. If we manage to find them all, we can expect 186 smilies in total.
After fuelling up our rental geovehicle, we made our way to gz to quickly add our names to the logbook as we need to get to Penguin before our 9:30 event.
We’ll be back to spend more time here at a later date.
Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, NickandAbb

Day 2 of our tour round Tasmania Today we drove from Devonport to Ulverstone via Sheffield
We finished the adventure and headed off to find the bonus. As we got to GZ I was pretty certain where the cache would be hidden. For once, I was right

?? A group of 11 of us from New Zealand have come over to cache in Tasmania, stayed at Hadley Orient Hotel in Hobart for 3 nights. Now staying at Launceston. This is our 6th day here. G-2 is the nominated driver and Pagenz (our tour director) and me are in our rental.?? These murals are amazing, but I have been taking fotos only of the ones needed for the 2 ad labs in town, I use the fotos to track where I have been and plot ALL WP's onto Google Earth when I get home (been doing this since 2014 when I first started geocaching) probable have more than 20,000 wp's as such including places I still want to visit. This process usually takes triple the amount of time most people take on their logging, oh... and I add heaps of fotos onto nearly all of my caches I do! Some might say I'm rather addicted to this sport.... and they'd be right!?? We had trouble on a mural close by, the Ford car one, it took a heap of guesses before we clicked on the right one. Thank you MerilynTas for setting this up, great fun and a FP from me. You probably don't know, but these is a small town in New Zealand called Katikati which is well known for it's murals, look it up some time.
Quick find this morning after completing the AL’s a few days ago. Thanks for the cache!
A quick park but it's a bit narrow here. Thanks for the great Ad Lab, which was done yesterday.
Out n about with m4yb grabbing a few caches.
She made this find ok.
Thanks for the hide & MerilynTas

Found with the geofamily on our Tassie adventure! Beautiful town! Thanks so much!
We had managed to tag along for a short holiday with muggle brother who had a couple of commitments in Tasmania, (from Vic) and after we also managed some time to explore, and we had a stop in Sheffield so managed to add a couple of smiles and complete Ad Labs, love the murals last time we were here it was before caching so great to have another reason to explore too, We completed this Ad Lab and gained the required coordinates for this one and it was soon retrieved, signed and replaced as found. TFTC and the fun
After completing the Lab Cache series related to this we headed over to GZ for this bonus cache. All was good and we found it fairly quick.
We drove to the last mural but all others we did a walk around town and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Many of the murals are just amazing.
Giving it a favorite point hoping it encourages other to do it as well.

Thanks for the cache MerilynTas, and thanks so much for helping out so promptly with this one.
RLD4963 and I were off to the northwest coast for a couple of days for some geocaching, and to attend a friend's play in Burnie on Saturday night.
Day 2 of our trip up north, and we headed to Sheffield to find some caches. We were here only eighteen months ago and found all the caches that were here at the time - no sooner had we got home that new ones popped up! Nice to have a reason to visit Sheffield again.
Love the murals in Sheffield, and it's nice to focus on a few different ones and find out a bit of the back story of the images.
Very thankful to the CO who responded so promptly when we reached out in relation to some missing info for the AL - what a champ! From here, after a lovely morning in Sheffield, we headed off to Tazmazia for an afternoon of going around in circles.
A favourite from me.

Had a lovely stroll around Sheffield today, looking at the murals and completing the two Adventure Lab caches. Have only just mastered the Adventure Labs, it doesn't help having the app on a very old phone that tends to go flat very quickly when attempting them.
This bonus was a quick find. Thanks.

After an enjoyable stroll through the town completing the AL caches this was a nice bonus. We found the cache on the ground amongst the wet grass but replaced it higher up in the obvious place. TFTC!

A nice finish to the mural trail series. Looking forward to additional art exhibits on my next (potential) visit to Sheffield.
Completed with Mrs Oz KEG during our Christmas 2021 Tassie trip. We never visited Sheffield last time we were in Tassie and boy am I glad this cache brought me here. We almost missed this one (it was hard to spot there were 2 lab). Thanks for showing me this beautiful town.
Hello MerilynTas thank you for the cache

Hi, and thanks for the cache and the Ad Lab, found with AlbyDangles on a caching weekend based at Gowrie Park, after transporting some Venturer Scouts to their statewide 'Venture' at Arm River Camp last night.
1305.
My driver got me so close but I needed to alight and take one step.
Thanks for the adventure.

Hi Merilyn....thoroughly enjoyed the trek around the lovely murals.
The letterbox was missing but sussed out the number from a nearby doorway.
The bonus cache was an easy find unlike the other AL bonus.
Many tftc....much appreciated....cheers ST.

Dropped into Sheffield on a recommendation from a family member of Gcoven. Between the murals and cemetery, we were told we would be suitably impressed.
Yes the murals were impressive. The cemetery after a 'long' drive around town seemed fictional, lead to a google failure and my pie getting cold. There weren't any directional signs that I saw but that could have been a boys look. Thanks for MerilynTas' mural adventure!!

Down in the Apple Isle with JACS and TeamARF for a week or so to hunt some caches and traipse about having adventures. Fab puzzles and wonderful countryside. Awesome caches all round! We are thoroughly enjoying this adventure and grabbing some very well maintained oldies awesome locations. The aim was Tassies oldest and visiting some cute towns today plus some tricky maths!!! And of course for my benefit a cemetery or two! Tftc
Had to do both labs while in tour to appreciate them all, you could probably have another set or two and still not see them all. Had lunch at the yummy local bakery after as well. Thanks for the tour.
A mystery cache to finish the day. Walked around the town murals and drove to the final one and then the bonus was a short walk away. TFTC MerilynTas
A drive today with Geo Kid O, with dual main purposes, to find enough points to qualify for the highest souvenir and to find a reverse cache to complete a challenge on GCA.
The day was a success with both purposes being achieved. No showers of any note made everything almost perfect. TFTC the cache
Thank you for the tour around Sheffield. What a great town

Thanks MerilynTas

Opps, we did More Murals in Sheffield first. Buy hey, we walked the Railton to Sheffied track the opposite way to the COs placement so why change now!
We enjoyed the murals and stopped at many more than were required. They never cease to amaze and entertain us. We love it here.
Once we had the coordinates for GZ we headed off to make the find. We caused a mini traffic jam but we weren't stopped for too long!
Thanks MerilynTas. It was nice to catch up Sunday!

We walked round town doing this and the otehr lab, I always enjoy the murals and it was nice to look at them again.
Thanks for the lab.
This weekends adventures was instigated by TazScout with a discussion/statement 'Day Walk' followed by a map of the area around Sheffield and Railton on the 8th of April, after we all talked to our significant others and arrangements made and diaries double and triple checked we had a sort of plan on the 15th and accommodation was booked for a busy weekend of walking between Sheffield and Railton collecting those caches along with any other GC or GCA we could find the time to grab as we were in the area.
Along with a wonderful walk we had time to catch up with friends and find some great caches, so a perfect use of our time, i think we all were better for a caching weekend and swear we wont leave it as long next time, thanks to all the CO's for making this trip possible.
Thanks for the cache.

We loved seeing the new murals since our last visit, yet it was the first visit for dalerious and it was great to share it with him. We also stopped for a cuppa in the town.
Looking forward to catching up with you at the event tomorrow in Ulverstone, thanks heaps for the bonus cache, without which we wouldn’t have known the Adv. Lab caches were there.

We have loved our time in Tasmania and we couldn’t ask for better weather on our final day. Today we returned to some favourite places to explore and relax before returning to Victoria.

Today with the weather not looking so bright in Launceston seemed like a good idea to head to the north west for a full days caching. Started in Latrobe before heading west and finding myself in penguin then detouring back home via penguin and 2 caches in Launceston to top off a long day out. Total of 66 finds and 15 labs for the day

Cache and contents were in good condition.

While heading back from Stanley to Sheffield with Tassie Trekkers, we headed off after tea to wander around the murals. There seems to be new ones that we haven't seen before and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Well done in setting it all up. Deserves a favourite,
Fantastic adventure with the Geodogs. Loved reading about tge murials, and was especially moved to see Sandra featured, such an amazing lady taken way too soon.
Thanks for taking us to a location on our doorstep, but rarely visited & appreciated.

Well, after the threat of rain all day seems to be a rather hollow promise, we jumped in the little blue bomber to hopefully bag two Adventure Labs full of "Town Murals". Enjoyed the walk around, coffees at Mountain Mumma, and avoided the increasing number of overseas tour groups. Sheffield was buzzing (relatively of course). Nicely put together and when Google Maps gets around to responding from time to time we found our way within striking distance of each stage, not withstanding a bit of local knowledge.

We needed a find today to fill a gap on our caching calendar so we decided to try this new adventure lab and bonus cache. Publishing an adventure lab based on the murals was an idea we played with before deciding on the Deloraine street sculptures so we were keen to see which murals were used for the locations. We enjoyed the murals selected and managed to make our way around all the locations before the next shower of rain hit. mr sharnie's tribe thinks he may have put yesterdays date in the logbook, oops! Thanks for the adventure and the bonus
Having completed the excellent Adventure Lab featuring some of the murals in Sheffield, we had the location of the Bonus Cache. Accurate coordinates and an obvious hide location led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. There being no other entries in the log, we will claim {FTF} at 12:15. Thanks MerilynTas for a great Adventure Lab and Bonus Cache - it earns a favourite from us. Now it is off to Lake Rowallan for some cache maintenance
