We solved this a while ago but do not come this way often enough to "clean up" our solutions in the area. We did however plan to grab a specific cache this afternoon and this was on our way there, hence a quick stop was made. A nice hide and an easy find on a beautiful, quiet Sunday afternoon Smile TNLNSL TFTC

I didnt attend the event mentioned in this cache description, but I was caching with someone who was there. Once I got home after a day of caching I solved the sudoku. In fact in the last couple of sprays I have solved a number of sudokus We jumped to conclusions as to where this cache was hiding, but we soon realised we were in the wrong spot and shortly located its hiding spot! Finally time to be in Adelaide and we arrived a few days early. We set up camp in Walkerville and settled in for a few days.Today we joined forces with Robmc and headed away from the city on the bikes. A day of mixed fortunes but this was one of our successful finds. The puzzle was quite a challenge but the find was rewarding.A beautiful day to be out riding along here. Thanks for showing us the sights.

I'm afraid we did not attend the event, so we had some work to do.Fortunately the find was a lot easier.Back to the trail. Thanks, Robmc.

Out for a long stroll today, along the linear park, and I zipped off my route, just long enough to find this one.I could not seem to find the correct solution to the puzzle, and reached out to multiple parties. So thanks to all who helped. In my case, it obviously takes a village.TFTC.

I must have solved this one eons ago. Just checking my notes, and seems there was three possible solutions with one coming up trumps. Thanks for the great puzzle bgmat. Today I had some time before the event and swung by here for a quick find and sign. Cache in great condition, plenty of room on the logsheet/book. Thanks for the puzzle and the hide, find #9281 at 10.03am

The puzzle has been solved in February 2022, about one year ago. It was not difficult.
Unfortunately, I missed the event GC8HM55 "Community Celebration Event: bgmat Pub Lunch".
Today, since I was in the area, I tried this cache.
It was a classic hide. Found the cache in the second place I checked.
Cache container is in good condition.
Signed the log book, and place the cache back.
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache, bgmat.

Didn’t have much difficulty solving the puzzle, dropped past today to make the find. Found in the obvious spot here once at GZ. Cache in good condition for its age. Cheers.

Find #4732 on 10 Dec 2022.

Wow, took me 3 solves of this sudoku to get a thumbs up from the checker. In the end, I used the hint and then made a logical leap for the likely F8 and F9 values. Whew! Now, to go find it Smile

And what's more - I was standing at GZ with Moxie yesterday and didn't know it...!

It appears the only way to get this one IS to have attended the event. After two hours and two different solutions neither give me a valid set of coordinates. [:-(]

Yay! After the puzzle solving fun I was wondering what would await at GZ, but luckily this was a nice and straightforward hide and I had it in my hands (paws? ) In no time. Thanks for the cache

Driving home from a few hours caching up north I saw this one on the radar. A surprise benefit indeed for being in the right area.
Plus only a 5 minute drive to the Dutch pantry on O.G. road for some well earned chips with satay sauce was another surprise benefit!

Found It!
Unfortunately I didn't make it to GC8HM55. Sometime later I sat down to solve this puzzle and soon had a plausible solution to the Sudoku. But the checker said no. After an email to the CO, it turns out that the solution I found was not the solution he had, even though I had followed the hint. How many different solutions are there I wonder? Anyhow, once I had one that the checker agreed with, I went to GZ and soon found the cache!

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. Twisted So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. Cool That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]

Another Wednesday wander with just S.A. sewer Rats today. TwistedToday was about finding some DNF's and whatever else we could find in between them. Razz I wasn't lucky enough to go to the listed event so it was suduko time. Ten solutions had to be tried before the solution checker smiled. Surprised Luckily the cache was easier to find. Smile Dropped in a TB [:X]

I was there at the event when this was handed out so had a solution quite quickly for this puzzle, stopped by GZ today and cache was easily found and is all good

Sudoku solved a few times before I got a set of numbers that worked.

At GZ, the cache was found after a short search. Very bold and clever to hide a cache of this size here.

Cache is clean, dry and in good condition.

Thanks for the cache bgmat.

I was lucky enough to be at the event when this sudoku was passed out and we all set about solving it. So there it has sat in my to be found pile waiting for a suitable time to come and find the cache. [^]

Today after an early morning event not too far away I decided to come here to find the cache and put my stamp[ in the log. Big Grin Cache was found eventually after looking in all the wrong places first. Red Face

Thanks for the puzzle and cache bgmat. Smile

I had time to fill in this afternoon while I was waiting for some work to be done on my car, so I went for a walk around Windsor Gardens, finding this cache along the way.

I didn’t have a pen and there wasn’t one in the cache container, but fortunately I spotted a pencil on the ground nearby.

Thanks bgmat for the puzzle and the cache.

Rocked up to work this morning and it was all locked up like Fort Knox.
As I solved this one recently, I decided to go off and do a bit of Geocache Hunting, had a fairly good idea where to look.
Was in the second and last place I looked.
Thanks bgmat.

Well we made it to the end of 2020 and had a couple of little caching goals to round off Big Grin [:o)] CoolTwistedRed FaceRazzWink

Purrfect Di said let's go caching straight after work... that's why she's perfect Razz

So off we went, over the hills, and thataway...

We came across your cache bgmat , and it gave us joy this New Year's Eve.

Caching seemed so much safer than mixing it up with the crowds Big Grin

Never went to the event. Well that sucked. Even with high tech sudoku help.
But eventually found the right numbers. Had NYE dinner nearby and came to claim the cache!

I was at the event and came up with one of the 19 answers for this sudoku. Mine won me a prize, but was one of the 9 “wrong” answers.

With a bit of brute force later on, the “correct” solution made solving this puzzle easy.

A nice quick find at GZ of a good sized container. Took a TB to move on.

Thanks for the cache bgmat.

I remember attending [GC8HM55: Community Celebration Event: bgmat Pub Lunch](https://coord.info/GC8HM55), and getting copies of this sudoku. All of my automated solvers indicated many solutions (non-unique), and so after checking with the CO, my solution was not right. I was told that there was something unique, but in the end, I don't think anyone managed to get the same answer version that the CO was holding. So perhaps a little tougher than just 2.5 difficulty?

This afternoon after work, I decided to head north-east, spending time in Gilles Plains and Modbury. With limited time left in Adelaide, I tried to concentrate on the higher D-T geocaches, but otherwise making stops at any other caches along the way. As my outing approached dinner time, I decided to then return home.

I was in the area of this cache today, and so I thought I would make a stop to have a hunt for this geocache. The cache took a little to find, and I was even close to making a PAF, so a nice hide indeed. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. I dropped a TB within the cache, but then grabbed a new TB. Thanks bgmat for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

This one had me tricked. I am the first to admit I did not do this manually like you normally do. I used a solver. Tricky little sucker but thanks to the solver, the solution(s) presented themselves. Only one set of numbers made sense so in the end it's not that hard if you do it the new easy way!! CO let me know if this is a spoiler log and I'll amend! Razz

Thanks to bgmat and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]

18-Dec-20
I think the difficulty stars will have to go up a lot more for those without the solution from the lunch event.
This cannot be solved logically by hand, anyone who does would've taken a leap of faith(guess) to solve it. Proof of that was the numerous different solutions being bandied around to claim an unclaimable prize... lol
Solving online, or with app may throw up as many as 31 different solves... lol
A quick find in the dark.

Thanks

Owl was having lunch at her aunt's place and then had a couple of hours to kill before an appointment. Fortunately there was a cache just around the corner and this started a series of jumps to the appointment. Having won the prize for first hand-done incorrect correct solution at the event, owl was happy to leave the other prizes for fellow guests. But she did leave a TB found just before the event for another guest. Thanks for the fun! Bronze was a nice bonus.

Was at home, recuperating, expecting locus sometime. Was attempting a solve on a local puzzle when she turned up. Combine efforts but were getting nowhere when another puzzle appeared, again quite close, and with better intel locus swapped to this one and soon had the needed co-ords. After doing some lifting I was not up to yet we headed off to GZ to score silver, 6 minutes after gold. I think the lifting, if not actually costing us gold, at least stopped us from getting there while gold was still present. Wasn't long before 4 caching teams were represented at GZ, after the obligatory chat we all went our almost separate ways.
Thanks bgmat for getting me out for another smilie.

Brad had been to a very pleasant GC8HM55 community celebration event today.
Like the rest of those there he received a heads-up that a bonus cache would be published later after the event had finished. He was also given a sudoku to solve. However it seemed there was more than one valid solution but the CO was happy to show the attendees which was the correct solution required.
This did give all attendees a bit of a head start.
Brad has retruned home and was attempting to solve a new Freddo puzzle when he noticed this one had also been published. A solution was found and a decison made to drive to GZ although he knew a number of attendees lived closer.
At GZ the mass of spider webs surrounding the cache suggested there had not been an earlier vistor today and sure enough the log was empty. Woohoo!
Signed and all returned as found.
No sign of any other cachers yet so Brad decided to head off to collect another long solved puzzle cache from nearby.
After completing and logging that one he drove back past this one to see hurtle, ttrogg, and locus cache all either standing near GZ or in their cars. Presumably the podium has been filled.
A brief chat was interrupted by a passing truck which needed us to move our haphazardly parked cars. And so it was time to move on.
Thanks for the Community Celebration, and for this cache and the other nearby cache bgmat Smile
