Due to the area where this cache was situated being decimated by I presume Parks Albury/Wodonga, I had no choice but to remove the cache from it's compromised hide.I will contact our reviewer to explain the situation, and ask to reinvent the cache where I now reside.I am so sorry to have to take this action, but it looks like council may have rezoned the area for housing, as every tree that was there has been chopped down.Keep safe, and keep on caching Big Grin.

Last to log before archival.9 November 2024 @1:51pmVisiting Albury with catnap777 to visit family, we popped out here to check on her cache which had recieved a couple of disturbing logs.Sure enough, although the cache and its contents were still there in place, the surrounding area had been decimated. All of Blinky Bill's habitat had been felled for clearing. The hard decission was made and with a little elbow grease, the hotel was pulled from among the fallen timber to be taken home with us to be repurposed elsewhere. My darling wife (the CO) has "grabbed" the remaining TB's from within so they can be safely rehomed too.Look out for Blinky Bill V2.Thanks for all the fun. Fav Added.

A lovely walk in the bush, on a not so lovely day. Thought we just get out and have a quick find before the rain set again. Cache looks in good order, but the nearby tree is not looking so healthy now. Weve left a pen as there was not one in the cache. thanks for the cache.

33,870. Found with Team CIA23 - Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023.Our caching group has been eyeing off the Albury/Wodonga area for quite some time. After many months of hard work we had solved nearly all the area's puzzles, so we set a date and headed on down. CIA23 comprised of minniek, Joolay, Kittykatch, isopeda, barb2e, FurfacesLL, Tankengine, dty73, Sol de lune, LuckyL10n, albida33, Aykayem, smittengranny and myself. For part of one day we were joined by local Cacher Happy Feet 1. What a great weekend of caching with such a fun group of people. An event on the Saturday night also helped make the trip memorable. This was now (my) Day 2 of the trip. Quick find once at GZ. Signed the log as CIA23, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on our list. Thanks catnap777 !!

After a pleasant night in sheer luxury, fitzy_1965 and I were up early to take advantage of our free breakfast before joining the rest of the CIA crew for a day of caching before we all went our separate ways.We crossed the river into Victoria to meet at the start of The Crossing Place walk and did the loop before the sun got too hot. The walk itself was quite pleasant and was a good test for my hip which has not been the best of late. We targeted of the OZ trail and whatever else we came across. The logs were primarily signed as CIA (Canberra Invasion Albury) unless otherwise stated. Now logging as individuals KK, Joolay, FFLL, Albida, AKM, fitzy_1965 & I as others have parted ways.

Albury Invasion trip Day 3. After planning and months of puzzle solving it is finally time to head to Albury Wodonga for a long weekend visit. I was with Kitty Katch, FufacesLL and Joolay for this trip, but I also spent time with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n due to space in cars. Logs for the weekend were signed CIA23 to save space. We started the day with a walk around the Riverside trail for the virtual and thew caches along the way. The second port of call was the new rail trail caches where a large group wandered along the trail visiting the caches, it is great to see this trail re-populated with caches. The second part of the day was small group caching around the area, visiting a few DNFs and other caches we had missed the day before. As before the effort put into the puzzles and all the caches in the area is really appreciated, and with so much more to do, I am sure I will be back before too long. Thanks for the cache catnap77744961.36 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Flying SkullFlying Skull A#121**Albida**

We joined in on the Canberra Albury Invasion or CAI fun this long weekend. After lots of puzzle solving and planning the time had come for a four day weekend of geocache hunting and hiking in and around the Albury/Wodonga area. We could not have picked a better weekend, we had great weather and avenged a couple of DNF's for us. Apologies for the generic log, thank you to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches in this area, and for giving us a reason to come down the highway and visit this lovely area. Thanks for the hidecatnap777

Day 3 of our Albury trip. Apologising up front for the generic logs. Cannot complain about the quality and quantity here, it was a great mixture. Some are very challenging hides and some even defeated us and some of those puzzles, just glad it was more than me working on them. Looking forward to coming back. Its a perfect weekend to get out of town. Decided Albury was the place to go. Lots of lovely puzzles that we have spent time as a group working through now its time to venture down and pick up.Thanks for getting me out and about catnap777

Found on the way to Eldorado. Thanks.

Found this one- someone from wodonga landfill approached and stated this was private land and was asked to leave, might be one to reconsider? Either way, very cool cache!

01-Mar-23
Hi fellow cachers, I assure you that this land is now public land and you have every right to enjoy the area. The cache is in a designated green belt. Please do not wander out of the bounds of the reserve into the housing estate etc. Wodonga Landfill no longer operates in the area.

Happy caching,

CO catnap777

*Found on the 15 Jan 2023 @ 4:45 pm.*
*Cache find # 14045.*

At first I wasn't sure if I was meant to enter here as the gate as a lot of locks on it and the only way in is through the fence but a few minutes later I decided to head on over and have a look for the cache once in the right area, it wasn't long before the logbook was stamped and I was on my way.

I headed off on a short road trip to try and finish off a few of the Whittlesea challenges, I had to visit 3 LGA’s in particular, today I had been up in Wodonga and Towong and then spending the night in Wangaratta before going back to Benalla and then heading up to Craig’s hut for a CITO.

**Thanks to catnap777 for placing this cache.**

Quick little caching trip with Dad to pick up a couple of local caches and drop off a TB that I have been sitting on for waaaayyyyy too long!
We were initially looking in the wrong spots but soon reorientation and found this terrific hide - I'm giving this one a favourite point!
Quite a few TBs here today, I dropped one off and Dad took one for a journey.
Cache is in good condition- many thanks to the CO for this one Smile

Find Number 2553 found at 12:58. Today we found 2 caches. We had 0 DNF's. This was the 1st find of the day.

We came to Wodonga to spend Christmas with geoDaughter EmnTodd and her family. Today we popped out to find two nearby caches.

EmnTodd had a trackable to drop so we came here as our first stop. We made it a lot harder for ourselves than necessary as we fought our way through brambles, following the compass. After finding the cache we saw a simpler bramble-free route back to the path.

The cache was in good condition. We took a trackable, left nothing, signed the log and replaced the container as found

Thanks catnap777 for the cache.

23-Dec-22
Dropped off another trackable to continue on its adventures.

Cheers

Had time to pick up a few caches this afternoon. This was the last. A very nice construction here with everything in good order. Signed and was on my way! TFTC!

17-Dec-22
Lovely sunny and unusually warm day, so we whizzed out to grab a cache or seven.
This one was high on my list ever since I got back from the US with some trackables.
The grass was quite lush on the way in so we were on guard a bit, but all that disappeared when we spotted the crafty container.
It appears that the outer container had become a suburb for low cost ant accommodation as there were loads of them in there, but fortunately none of them had taken up residence in the important container.
So we signed our lives away and left a TB to continue its travels.

When I saw this Catnapp cache on the map I said to myself ‘just one more’ before heading home.
I had all intentions of dropping a TB off but the rain was getting heavier as I arrived and I realized I’d left it back in the car (and I didn’t want to get any wetter today).

Love your work here Karen! FP for the effort

Great TB hotel. Dipped my TBs but they are on a mission so kept going.

30-Apr-22
A quick jaunt across the border and a TB that was overdue to move on meant a visit to the Hotel this afternoon.
I remember there being caches in the general area here and was surprised to see the gate closed here, but we traversed that and headed off to GZ.
Arrived and was impressed with the effort that had gone into this one. A great hide for kids to find when out and about caching.
SL at 4pm. Left the Cache Fairy TB to move on and hopefully someone will do that very soon.
A favourite point from us. TFTC catnap777.

Find #1696
Attended the Wangaratta Mega this weekend and now it’s time to head back to the Central Coast.

Stopping to get some strategic caches on my way which will get me some LGA’s that I need.

Thanks for the cache catnap777!

Charlicorn1500 and I headed to the Wangaratta Mega on short notice, having been unwilling to commit until the last minute due to the vagaries of COVID etc. This is my 7th Mega but Charlicorn's first. Despite the circumstances it was a great event with a lot of fun gadget caches and plenty of opportunities to meet up and adventure with fellow cachers. Highlights included finding 14 types in a day (15 if you count the Mega, which we do) on the Saturday, the GPS Maze Exhibit and a great night cache with a band of buddies we bumped into while doing gadget caches. Beautiful weather, very hot for us, but a great place to explore and we're both looking forward to the next Mega.

Found with Charlicorn1500 heading back from the Mega. Swapped some TBs.

Great cache, definitely worthy of a favourite point! Unfortunately the last person hasn’t logged the taking of the trackable so no trackables here!! I didn’t have any trackables with me to put in sorry
NOTE: We parked at the waypoint th owner has attached and the gate was locked with lots of paddlocks, we jumped over the fence but I don’t think you are meant too

A day outing during school holidays with Georgenmoo. Extremely worried about snakes now that the seasons are changing. Grass was fortunately quite low at this location.

We loved our first TB hotel. There was even one each to take with us. Thanks for the time and effort put into this one Catnap777. Gets a favourite from me Smile

Had to do a bit of shopping in Wodonga and we were driving right past this road. Not sure why we hadn't stopped here before, we have been past so many times.
Parked the car, jumped the fence, and walked to GZ.
Nicely constructed cache, and a great guardian.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 17,946. Robmc and I were heading to Wodonga to do a little shopping and he noticed where this one was close-by on the way. A quick stop and over the stile we went and made our way to GZ. Pleased to see Mr Blinky on guard duty. I had no TBs to drop in here but have collected 1 TB and 1 geocoin to move along on their journey. Thanks for the cache.

We were pretty excited to know there was another TB Hotel in the area. Looks like a few other cachers had the same idea and all the TB’s had been scooped up by the time we arrived. Some parts of one of the TB’s had been left behind, so hopefully we can reconnect them with the current holder. Left: Dougys Manga Tuner TB - hope he doesn’t rev his engine too loudly and wake up Blinky! #7639 TFTC TeamOZCAT - nicely done.

Ducked down this morning to see if I could add a couple of things for my bird a day challenge (both summer migrants gone) and stopped on the way home to visit this cache which I have my eye on for a while (love a TB). Was a quick walk to another well designed and stocked TB Hotel. I didn’t have my stash so I only took one - I will be back when I have more.
