Lucky that's a dry day today, it could be a pretty tricky one to get on a wet day. The lid was hard to pry open. TFTC
In the area today as we thought these caches looked a little lonely, and we had a carer for junior cacher .....it was time we got into some sunshine as we had been renovating a bedroom, taking up any spare hours....Left home at 8am (the wrong time as schools had just gone back after the anniversary weekend, and we hit traffic extending the trip to the park by half an hour.Arriving at GZ a quick chat with the local farmer for hints on the best route to take, and into cache finding.... then headed out on the adventure. The cache is in good health, luckily for water proof paper....TFTC.
I love these cache containers, but I do find the hinges tend to rust out, so you have to be careful not to lose the lids. Hope that doesnt give too much away.
Nice quick find, hide description had us centred in on what to look for upon arrival
This was the last cach I tried to find in my last trip.
It was dark and finding it now I would have never found then.
Back today and was able to find it.
Everything is safe and dry.
Thanks for placing this

Out enjoying a mid-winter walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. We arrived late morning and spent most of the rest of the day wandering around the tracks and finding plenty of caches. It was a bit wet underfoot but the weather was mild and we enjoyed the views as we walked an anti-clockwise circuit.
One of us carefully made his way down from the track to GZ, where the mint was soon spotted hanging on the tea tree. Thanks.

Wasnt looking too good here as so many possibilities. Got lucky though & soon signing the log. TFTC
Out with team Gold today (0B80B8 and LisCrew) collecting a few caches in the area. Peter headed down the bank to collect this one. Soon had it located. TFTC
Today I was on a mission as part of Team G0LD to Te Rau Puriri Regional Park on South Kaipara Head, to hopefully clear all the caches there and as many more as possible on the peninsula.
The Garmin watch showed a distance of 7.50 kms to complete the park in just under 3 hours with 250 metres elevation gain, so a nice exercise jaunt for the day, even if if was a tad warm and humid ahead of the approaching storm.
Thirteenth one on our walk today and took a minute to find this as it was a little way down off the track. TFTC

Team G0LD (Geocachers: 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) were on a mission today. The primary target was the cache rich Te Rau Puriri Regional Park at South Head. We were aiming to get our final mountain souvenir all done and dusted as well as filling an entire area on our maps with yellow smiles.
My phone GPS was slow to settle here but Pete's was fastest so off down the bank he went. He soon located it.
Overall it was a very hot day with temps 28-30°C. We only copped a few brief spats of rain and I found 49 caches. My souvenir well and truly achieved. Certainly a pretty lot of smiles too. Thanks for this hide

Our primary reason for the trip here today was to attempt all the caches in the park. Mrs NZT stayed home to look after Geo Dog (poor little bugga had had a rough night) and Keylev and myself set off to find all these.
How on EARTH Keylev saw this from so far away I will never know. THOUGHT I had spotted it but NOOOOOOOOOO Directions from above had me at the correct tree and the cache was found.

NZ Travellers and I had a plan to cache and walk today. Unfortunately their geo-dog was unwell so Mrs NZT had to stay home to care for him so it ended up being just Mr NZT and myself. Had a great day out, ended on a nice round number of 40 (50 would have been better but I had to collect our minis from their camp).
I spotted this upon approach from above and Mr NZT goes 'ah yes, I see' and proceeded down to the closest tree....ummm its a bit further than that...terrain 3.5...he hadn't seen it at all until it was literally in front of him as I directed him to it.
Thanks for the cache.

I am out and about this afternoon, taking advantage of the excellent weather, to take a hike around Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. After finding "the windy gate." I continued along the orange trail to this GZ. I left the track and headed amongst the trees and down the steep slope in search of this hide. I looked at a number of specimens as I went. Cache was a super quick find once I was close to actual GZ. Cheers for the cache placement!
Find number 11 in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park today! I visited here with tramyard, and we walked the loop clockwise finding all of the caches in the park along the way (and a few on the way there and back).
The cache name meant I knew exactly what I was looking for, and it didn't take too long to find either. All good here. TFTC!

This was fun to find so much Manuka and a bit of cover so the coordinates moved a bit. Had to work for this one.
The rain was falling and the ground was turning to mud, Mr P and I made our careful way to the cache, sign the log and back up to the path. T4tc
Out enjoying this regional park this afternoon. Pretty much have the place to ourselves, Got a bit worried when we realized what type of find this was going to be as these can be a struggle for us sometimes. Luckily not today. Spotted this one from the distance made our way to it and signed the log.
We had a lot of fun exploring this regional park on a stunning Winters day. Thanks to all the CO’s for placing and maintaining these caches.
A bit of a detour to collect this one, which we spotted on our approach to go. The Fanails were flitting around as we stirred up the insects for them.

I had the day off work today, so I decided to get out for a walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park... an area that I've never visited before! I was greeted with nice views as soon as I parked the car and, being a weekday, I had the park to myself for the afternoon. It was a lovely walk down to the harbour and back, I found all of the current caches here without any difficulty and really enjoyed my visit! Thanks for setting up all these caches!
Not usually my fave type of search but spotted it pretty quickly and soon back on the trail again.
Time to hit the trail and looking forward to the caches from the placers here; Tramouflage galore and Pax of bisons roaming the plains.
Another weekend day and I have a plan to go and find some caches out at Te Rau Puriri Regional Park up the top of South Head (North of South Head then!). I originally put down a couple of new ones in this empty (of caches, at the time) park and Tramyard and Pax duly obliged to fill in some of the walking tracks with caches, which also had good views and interesting things to see. I was fairly early off from home and arrived at the trail start at 0900, arrived back at 1145-ish so under 3 hours for the loop, including finds. I'm pretty sure there's room for some more up there as the Red route has scope, as does the pale blue one. The weather was a little blustery and a bit cooler than recent but still a good day 5o be out there doing it.

I was out on a ladies caching day with Supernanny and Nette1234 on a lovely autumn day. I followed my gps and slid down the bank and made the find.
Out and about enjoying Puriri with the mexikiwi and evilno9. Glad we did so, as the next day we went into level 3 lockdown. We enjoyed the round collecting all geocaches on the way, with a short lunch break on the beach. No issues with any find. TFTC
This one was just a matter of working my way down all the while eliminating other possibilities. TFTC.
Careful foot placement was needed here and the terrain rating made sense but a quick find once at GZ. A great place for a rest too.
TFTC.
TFTC.
Headed off track to get this one and took advantage of the shade here to have another rest and just enjoy the piece and quiet. Cache easily found and then back on track and down towards the beach again. TFTC
Tramyard asked me if I wanted to come along to place some caches in this Regional Park which what quite empty.... I had nothing to do, so grabbed my cache containers, logs and stuff and was ready to place some more caches in NZ.
Maybe we get some more people here to this nice park.
There's a lot of tea trees here....
