Had stopped off for lunch at the beach in the shade and watched the local birdlife, then headed out for this one....In the area today as we thought these caches looked a little lonely, and we had a carer for junior cacher .....it was time we got into some sunshine as we had been renovating a bedroom, taking up any spare hours....Left home at 8am (the wrong time as schools had just gone back after the anniversary weekend, and we hit traffic extending the trip to the park by half an hour.Arriving at GZ a quick chat with the local farmer for hints on the best route to take, and into cache finding.... then headed out on the adventure. The cache is in good health, luckily for water proof paper....TFTC.
I found it, but the lid was off and it was full of water. I have emptied it, but I wont try unrolling the log while its still wet. Ive put the lid back on and placed it back in at home.
Certainly is a bit windier here. Nice quick find after not finding the last
Really enjoying our walk in the sunshine. Nice hide, all good. Thanks tramyard and Pax.
Another slightly damp one, be sure to return this upside down to minimise infiltration
Out enjoying a mid-winter walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. We arrived late morning and spent most of the rest of the day wandering around the tracks and finding plenty of caches. It was a bit wet underfoot but the weather was mild and we enjoyed the views as we walked an anti-clockwise circuit.
Windy Hall is an apt name. There was a very tall gum tree down cross the track here. From the green foliage it was clear it hasn't been lying there long. Made a quick find of the cache in the obvious spot. TFTC

Out with team Gold today (0B80B8 and LisCrew) collecting a few caches in the area. Another quick grab as the trees swayed above us. TFTC
Today I was on a mission as part of Team G0LD to Te Rau Puriri Regional Park on South Kaipara Head, to hopefully clear all the caches there and as many more as possible on the peninsula.
The Garmin watch showed a distance of 7.50 kms to complete the park in just under 3 hours with 250 metres elevation gain, so a nice exercise jaunt for the day, even if if was a tad warm and humid ahead of the approaching storm.
Number seventeen on our walk today and a quick find in the hint location. Log book was a bit damp, but still managed to sign okay. TFTC

Team G0LD (Geocachers: 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) were on a mission today. The primary target was the cache rich Te Rau Puriri Regional Park at South Head. We were aiming to get our final mountain souvenir all done and dusted as well as filling an entire area on our maps with yellow smiles.
A quick find here just when we had our first sighting of muggles and their dogs. The park was very quiet today. A nice breeze here too.
Overall it was a very hot day with temps 28-30°C. We only copped a few brief spats of rain and I found 49 caches. My souvenir well and truly achieved. Certainly a pretty lot of smiles too. Thanks for this hide

Our primary reason for the trip here today was to attempt all the caches in the park. Mrs NZT stayed home to look after Geo Dog (poor little bugga had had a rough night) and Keylev and myself set off to find all these.
Keylev redeemed herself at his find making a quick easy find. On our way. I can smell the beach!

NZ Travellers and I had a plan to cache and walk today. Unfortunately their geo-dog was unwell so Mrs NZT had to stay home to care for him so it ended up being just Mr NZT and myself. Had a great day out, ended on a nice round number of 40 (50 would have been better but I had to collect our minis from their camp).
Wandered off the path and was directed by the GPS right to an obvious looking spot - there you are!
Thanks for the cache.

I am out and about this afternoon, taking advantage of the excellent weather, to take a hike around Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. After finding "big trees..." I followed the trail along this way. I decided against a short cut here and left the trail only once I was nice and close to GZ. The cache was instantly spotted on approach to GZ. Cheers for the cache placement!
Another cache found in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park today! I visited here with tramyard, and we walked the loop clockwise finding all of the caches in the park along the way (and a few on the way there and back).
This was...again...a cool spot for a cache. No problems here. Thank you for the cache

We had a lot of fun exploring this regional park on a stunning Winters day. Thanks to all the CO’s for placing and maintaining these caches.
A quick find here of the cache. We had to wait for a muggle family to carry on up the trail before zooming in to grab this cache

I had the day off work today, so I decided to get out for a walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park... an area that I've never visited before! I was greeted with nice views as soon as I parked the car and, being a weekday, I had the park to myself for the afternoon. It was a lovely walk down to the harbour and back, I found all of the current caches here without any difficulty and really enjoyed my visit! Thanks for setting up all these caches!
Lots of trees to choose from, with lots of forks above GL. I tried to take the direct route and climbed over some fallen trunks but GeohoundandI went around and got there first.
The cache was a bit soggy so she let me open it and sign the log. The log wasn't as wet as I thought it might be considering how wet the cache itself was.
Logged as HP family.

Easy spotting the hint item, and quickly had the cache signed and replaced before heading off towards the beach, TFTC
I could see where to go from several meters away. No wasted energy here, and I needed all that I had. Tftc
Could have found this one without the GPS I reckon, nice and easy and replaced as found.
Time to hit the trail and looking forward to the caches from the placers here; Tramouflage galore and Pax of bisons roaming the plains.
Another weekend day and I have a plan to go and find some caches out at Te Rau Puriri Regional Park up the top of South Head (North of South Head then!). I originally put down a couple of new ones in this empty (of caches, at the time) park and Tramyard and Pax duly obliged to fill in some of the walking tracks with caches, which also had good views and interesting things to see. I was fairly early off from home and arrived at the trail start at 0900, arrived back at 1145-ish so under 3 hours for the loop, including finds. I'm pretty sure there's room for some more up there as the Red route has scope, as does the pale blue one. The weather was a little blustery and a bit cooler than recent but still a good day 5o be out there doing it.

I was out on a ladies caching day with Supernanny and Nette1234 on a lovely autumn day. This was a nice easy find as the hint item was spied on approach
Out and about enjoying Puriri with the mexikiwi and evilno9. Glad we did so, as the next day we went into level 3 lockdown. We enjoyed the round collecting all geocaches on the way, with a short lunch break on the beach. No issues with any find. TFTC
This was a hard find because it was not windy. Actually, it was an easy find even without the wind. TFTC.
No wind in the hall today but we can imagine how it would be on a windy day.
The cache was soon located.
Another great diversion from the track.

Lots of trees to choose from but we picked the right one due to excellent coords. Lovely place to come and well worth the walk to get here. TFTC
Tramyard asked me if I wanted to come along to place some caches in this Regional Park which what quite empty.... I had nothing to do, so grabbed my cache containers, logs and stuff and was ready to place some more caches in NZ.
Maybe we get some more people here to this nice park.
Yep! Windy!
