No luck for us

In the area today as we thought these caches looked a little lonely, and we had a carer for junior cacher .....it was time we got into some sunshine as we had been renovating a bedroom, taking up any spare hours....Left home at 8am (the wrong time as schools had just gone back after the anniversary weekend, and we hit traffic extending the trip to the park by half an hour.Arriving at GZ a quick chat with the local farmer for hints on the best route to take, and into cache finding.... then headed out on the adventure. The cache is in good health, luckily for water proof paper....TFTC.Razz

Must have photographic memory. Seen one of these before

I’m doing a bit of a free range wander of the park today and locating caches that are close to my location on the way. Winds are a bit gusty at the Higham presently, TFTCs!!

All good here

Quicky.

I get the feeling most people don’t travel anticlockwise, but a bit of a common sense will help you with this hide

easy find! TFTC Smile

21-Aug-22
Found all safe and well.

23-Jul-22
Quick find.
Everything is safe and dry.
It's starting to get busy here.
I've seen 4 people in the past hour.
Sill a great day.

17-Jul-22
Well stashed, we didn't know where to look as we went the other way around.

Out enjoying a mid-winter walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. We arrived late morning and spent most of the rest of the day wandering around the tracks and finding plenty of caches. It was a bit wet underfoot but the weather was mild and we enjoyed the views as we walked an anti-clockwise circuit.
The hint fooled us for a while as we wondered if we were looking for something different. But no, it was right there all along.

Out with team Gold today (0B80B8 and LisCrew) collecting a few caches in the area. Nice simple find while walking past. TFTC

12-Feb-22
Today I was on a mission as part of Team G0LD to Te Rau Puriri Regional Park on South Kaipara Head, to hopefully clear all the caches there and as many more as possible on the peninsula.

The Garmin watch showed a distance of 7.50 kms to complete the park in just under 3 hours with 250 metres elevation gain, so a nice exercise jaunt for the day, even if if was a tad warm and humid ahead of the approaching storm.

Number twenty-two on our walk today and a quick find in the hint location, back on the more reasonable track. TFTC

Team G0LD (Geocachers: 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) were on a mission today. The primary target was the cache rich Te Rau Puriri Regional Park at South Head. We were aiming to get our final mountain souvenir all done and dusted as well as filling an entire area on our maps with yellow smiles.

As the description says we definitely knew the drill here and made a quick find. Met some muggle dog walkers here too so explained geocaching to them.

Overall it was a very hot day with temps 28-30°C. We only copped a few brief spats of rain and I found 49 caches. My souvenir well and truly achieved. Certainly a pretty lot of smiles too. Thanks for this hide Smile

03-Jan-22
Our primary reason for the trip here today was to attempt all the caches in the park. Mrs NZT stayed home to look after Geo Dog (poor little bugga had had a rough night) and Keylev and myself set off to find all these.

Proved a good idea to walk around this track before heading up to Pink Beacon Bison. Quick find but now we DO have to head UP. Thankfully not as step as the first option we looked at.

NZ Travellers and I had a plan to cache and walk today. Unfortunately their geo-dog was unwell so Mrs NZT had to stay home to care for him so it ended up being just Mr NZT and myself. Had a great day out, ended on a nice round number of 40 (50 would have been better but I had to collect our minis from their camp).

As we wandered along the path we noticed the pink one was at a different elevation...hmmm are we going straight up or does the path turn back on itself....made the call to come to this one first and then try the pink one - turns out that was a good call.

Quick find next to the named gate.

Thanks for the cache.

I am out and about this afternoon, taking advantage of the excellent weather, to take a hike around Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. After finding "the gate with no name" I continued along the track to this GZ as I wanted to get to a higher elevation before climbing up to "pink". Yes, I do know the drill as this was found in the very first spot I checked. Cheers for the cache placement and for the exercise today!

05-Dec-21
Another cache as we worked our way around the red circuit and still managing to keep up with the main group (muggle trampers) as long as I only stop for the ones that can be grabbed as I walk past. TFTC

16-Oct-21
Another cache found in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park today! I visited here with tramyard, and we walked the loop clockwise finding all of the caches in the park along the way (and a few on the way there and back).

This was a quick easy find, as per the hint... but since we did come clockwise, I didn't even need the hint to know exactly what I was looking for and where to look for it. Nice one Wink TFTC!

15-Aug-21
I had a look and then Mr P did another pass by and made the find... beautiful day for out walking. T4tc

Nice and dry. Mermaid

Back down the hill in one piece and was glad for this easy find as starting to get tired now.

04-Jul-21
We had a lot of fun exploring this regional park on a stunning Winters day. Thanks to all the CO’s for placing and maintaining these caches.
Another quick find here, although it took us longer to extract the cache which was well wedged in

05-May-21
I had the day off work today, so I decided to get out for a walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park... an area that I've never visited before! I was greeted with nice views as soon as I parked the car and, being a weekday, I had the park to myself for the afternoon. It was a lovely walk down to the harbour and back, I found all of the current caches here without any difficulty and really enjoyed my visit! Thanks for setting up all these caches!

17-Apr-21
Its always easier coming down hill, and this was the case today after finding the Pink Beacon bison nearby, TFTC

05-Apr-21
We nearly logged a dnf here. The previous finder did an extremely good job of concealing this one.....especially as we had searched the area 3 or 4 times over. Our intended 3 hour walk was starting to stretch at the seams starting at this point. Fortunately no DNFs for today.

After being high am at pink bison it was down to earth to find this cache, literally. Easy find Pax, thanks.

Time to hit the trail and looking forward to the caches from the placers here; Tramouflage galore and Pax of bisons roaming the plains.
Another weekend day and I have a plan to go and find some caches out at Te Rau Puriri Regional Park up the top of South Head (North of South Head then!). I originally put down a couple of new ones in this empty (of caches, at the time) park and Tramyard and Pax duly obliged to fill in some of the walking tracks with caches, which also had good views and interesting things to see. I was fairly early off from home and arrived at the trail start at 0900, arrived back at 1145-ish so under 3 hours for the loop, including finds. I'm pretty sure there's room for some more up there as the Red route has scope, as does the pale blue one. The weather was a little blustery and a bit cooler than recent but still a good day 5o be out there doing it.

Quick find on this lovely day.

Easy find......my Ex was friends with the Higham family in 60s and 70s

21-Mar-21
I was out on a ladies caching day with Supernanny and Nette1234 on a lovely autumn day. Another nice easy find on this one

27-Feb-21
Out and about enjoying Puriri with the mexikiwi and evilno9. Glad we did so, as the next day we went into level 3 lockdown. We enjoyed the round collecting all geocaches on the way, with a short lunch break on the beach. No issues with any find. TFTC

16-Jan-21
I followed the advice of the park ranger to hike up the trail a bit before going uphill, and what do you know, there was a cache right here, too. TFTC.

04-Jan-21
At this point on our walk around the park the temperature had reached 29 degrees and we were running short on water so finding caches as we walked back to the carpark provided some much needed motivation to continue.
We were also pleased to make a nice quick find.
TFTC.

As we had clock wise we knew exactly where to look and bingo, we were right. TFTC
