Needing another multi for a challenge I'm working towards, and I focused on this one. Nice and easy to work out, and after a pleasant walk to GZ, cache was found quickly.Thank you, kolour, for placing this little multi, I think it's the last one available that I haven't found in this area

Amazing place. So quiet. We left Zombie there. Poor guy was left in the same cache in Tasmania for nearly two years. Please circulate, he needs to see the world.

16-May-24
We wandered around this park with light showers keeping us on our toes as we collected answers to the clues.Worked out the final coordinates and made our way to GZ where the cache was quickly located safe and sound. A beautiful spot to visit and I can only imagine its glory went out in full bloom.TFTC

16-May-24
The rain eased enough for us to be able to start this wander around the gardens. An interesting history, and this is a lovely way to preserve some of the property. I can imagine when all the Bougainvillea are in bloom that it would be quite a lovely sight. Today it was mostly just green. After reading all the information as we sought the numbers required, we made our way down to GZ for a quick find. Lovely way to spend some time, even in the rain.

After returning from a trip away, I spent a few days unpacking and settling back in at home. Today, I decided that the weather was nice enough to head out to find a cache. I decided to give this multi a try. What lovely gardens! It is a pity that more people do not make use of them. Maybe they are worried about being hit by stray golf balls. All information was easily found and I was soon headed off to GZ. There, the cache was quickly located and the log signed. With everything returned as found, I headed on my way. TFTC

We came to the park chasing an old cache but we didnt really know what we were looking for. Thankfully our time was better spent chasing this multi to round out the day. Mrs Woodyrothwell is a prep teacher so her stomach was rumbling because of the fixed feeding schedule she has. Like a pet dog, she needs to be fed at the same time.We trundled round in the long grass and plotted a GZ. The only problem was that there was a hill involved and golfers wanting to know why we werent applauding their rubbish shots. We went down the hill to a very cachy area and were soon rewarded. Now we just had to make it passed some other golfers looking to us to clap them in. tftc

Checking on the cache (all good) and dropping off two trackables. Good to see new information signs in the park as the original ones were quite faded.

After attending the nearby CITO I headed off to find a few caches. I really loved this park, learning about the history & enjoying the river view. I didn't have any trouble working out the numbers & the cache was easily found, I even got to play with a puppy on the way back to the car! Thanks for the fun multi kolour, adding a favourite point for an all round great multi!

After finishing work in the neighbourhood I head to this cache. I got to placement area to find the information to get coord for the finals. Then walk to the GZ and found the cache, signed the log.
Kolour thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for enjoyment of the caching community.

Beautiful garden adjacent to an interesting park with great views of golf course. Thanks for bringing me here by placing this cache. Good local history lesson

10-Aug-23
Checking on the cache and all good here plus dropping off two trackables. The park is glorious right now.

08-Aug-23
Took a walk with OlitonGaming after school. Silly goose me, I initially put answers in as S 27 30.ABC 152 59.DEF!! But we soon realised I should have read the instructions better! We used to live just down the road from here (10+ years ago). One of my first caches I found was in this park. But I’ve avoided this one cause it’s a multi, LOL! Midges were out in force near final location but the Bougainvillias were at their best, gorgeously blooming. It was wonderful to revisit this park after so long. TFTC! Favourite point for the local memories.

30-Jul-23
I really liked how geographically tight this geo is for a multi, some detective work required but in doing so discovered a great public park I’d have never explored otherwise, much bigger than I had thought too! TFTC

19/7/2023 Find #6321
I rarely plan my caching Wednesdays, often opting to just go with the flow once the day starts. Today was such a day, and I picked an area where there were one or two oldies I was after and decided to grab whatever other caches might happen to be in the vicinity at the same time.
I parked the car in a nearby side street and wandered down to begin this multi where I was quite surprised at the absolutely gorgeous location! And so peaceful. Not a soul around the entire gardens, unless you possibly count the golfers down on the greens.
Thanks for the cache kolour. A favourite point from me for the serenity here today.

I am a few challenges short of qualifying for the Challenging July Challenge. I also have a few nearly finished challenges involving multi's. So, my goal for the month was to collect 31 multis and knock off these challenges.

It has been a productive month so far with 29 multis already bagged. This afternoon after work I headed over to St Lucia and Indooroopilly hoping to knock over a quartet of multis and finish these challenges.

I have collected a cache here previously, many years ago, so i was aware of the history of the Park. None the less, it was an enjoyable late afternoon wander around the park collecting the clues. The bougainvillea's are all in flower and the mature Hoop Pine and Bottle trees are a feature.

Along the way , I spied an unusual set up under a shrub. It turned out to be a Council Mozzie Collection Station - where they monitor and track mozzie numbers, presumably to guide their mozzie spraying efforts. .

Everything was in good order at the final location. Enjoyed this one, so have a FP TFTC kolour

Out and about with Muggle65 today. We are trying to build our multi numbers so here we are. Thank you for the fun ??

What a beautiful spot. After the kids had a great couple of hours playing in Frew Park, we drove here to have a bbq picnic lunch. The parklands are beautiful. Lots of flowering bougainvilleas along the fence lines. It was lovely reading the history of the park, especially since I too came from Somerset. A couple of butcher birds perched above us during lunch and dropped kindly messages on both Granddad and chikinlittler. The rest of us couldn't stop laughing at their misfortunes. Thankfully there was a tap nearby. A beautiful place to visit, so thanks for showing it to us. TFTC.

I have decided to have May as Mad, Month of Multi May to find 31 Multi's in the month of May for a challenge in Melbourne (GC5M69G). I managed to solve this multi at home but was not absolutely sure that i had it correct but once at GZ i spotted the cache in the second place i looked. Such a beautiful place and a great story. THanks for taking me here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy . This was my last find for today and i rode my bike from STARS hospital after work to find 4 Multis today and tried to beat the school children to Indooroopilly train station to get back home to Banyo but i got to the train and just missed the train and the children i passed leaving school all caught up. Busy train but nice bunch of children. Thanks for all the fun and May the 4th be with you

02-Apr-23
A drive around this area to find a few caches and to keep my personal challenge ticking over. It is always nice to visit new areas and new places. This was an interesting place and nicely groomed. I walked around collecting information and soon I had some new numbers which produced a new set of coordinates. on the map it looked like it was wrong but when I got to GZ it all made sense. A nice multi and a nice hide.

I signed the log and replaced as I found it, a nice area and some nice views. All good with this one, thanks for the hide.

Today was the first caching excursion in my new (used) car.
I had attended an event and a CITO and am now random caching around Brisbane.

Thought I'd give this one a try as I'm pretty hopeless at multis. Walked the waypoints, got the numbers and made a fairly quick find.

TFTC kolour??

What a lovely little park. Thanks for the tour. It took me about 30min to read all the signs and locate the cache. TFTC!

Caching with geo-friends and found the necessary information to work out GZ. At first we made a bad calculation then redid it and came up with a much better answer. Lovely gardens when in flower. A bit of a steep walk for me but survived it. Signed the log before replacing as found. TFTC

I think by the time we got to this our brains were fried and I wondered if we would make it down and backup again.

Returned via the trad.

Catching up with some unfounded with hatzofff, echocahe1, and imbunda.

Had some fun with the numbers. Shame they were not flowering - they looked great in flower last time we were here.

Log signed and cache replaced as found at 4:59 PM on January 22, 2023. TFTC, kolour

12-Dec-22
Taking a drive over this way to grab a few solved puzzles and an oldie for a challenge or two.
What a lovely park and would be spectacular when these plants are in bloom.
I love learning about the history of an area or park, and definitely a great location.
Found all the information easily at each WP and after calculating the final, made my way there.
Made a quick find, SL then returned as found.

What a great multi and location. A fav point from me.

Yay our first multi. Interesting park and history. TFTC

05-Nov-22
What a little beauty this is… interesting, not too long and an enjoyable walk in a pretty park.

We remember coming to this park at least twice over the years to find other caches here. But we’ve never ventured to the area of the final before.

The jacarandas in this park are also looking beautiful at the moment.

Thank you kolour. Took the TB to move along.

25-Oct-22
Just checking and all good plus dropping off a trackable I picked up in London to continue its journey.

16-Oct-22
Our second Multi of the day. Was pleasantly surprised by the muggle who turned out to be the granddaughter of the park’s namesake and she explained the history as well as the unfortunate fight they have against Brisbane Coty Council to keep it a heritage listed site. I do hope that this park continues to remain as is as it’s beautiful. Left a gift which can be used next door. Cache in great condition. TFTC

13-Oct-22
After undertaking an early morning MTB session at Mt Coot-tha and The Gap, my vehicle was then left at Mt Coot-tha to then ride into work. Hence, upon my ride from work back to my car, there was a chance to stop at a few geocaches, before taking a drive to Indooroopilly in order to retrieve a strategic tool TB.

Second time here, but with the special tool TB placed by the CO in this container, and me being 15 min up the road, I thought I'd make the journey to grab it. At least it provided me an opportunity to find the puzzle cache nearby that I hadn't realised about last time. I can confirm that the cache container and logbook were in good shape once again today. Thanks kolour for the cache placement.

09-Oct-22
Thank you for the Cache! Park is gorgeous and really quiet. Over looks the river and golf course.

Will definitely come back for a picnic sometime.

16-Aug-22
My second cache of the day & this time I paid attention to come up with the correct calculation for GZ first go. Off I toddled & soon had the cache in hand although I did dilly dally to a admire a much prettier feature on the way. TFTC

05-Aug-22
I have been pestering my wife for ages to visit here. Of course, my intention was to pick up the 2 caches that reside here. But I sold it as a lovely afternoon walk with the dog, not too taxing with views of the golf course & river.

It lived up to its promise. Certainly I grabbed the two caches. That was good. But it was also a lovely afternoon and some very interesting history, too. I even got the key for "The Lock for the Lookout" unexpectedly. So, this afternoon was very enjoyable, all round.

It is an amazing place full of beautiful history. Such a shame that we cannot see it in all its splendor. In fact, I noted that the historical signs need replacing. I hope BCC has that in its budget sometime soon. Nothing more depressing than unmaintained historical attractions.

Anyhow, we had a great time. I hope future caching visitors do too!

TFTC kolour!

Found safe and sound

I've driven and ridden past this park so many times. Thanks for a good excuse to stop! What a great area with some great views. And good to get the first multi done after our 2008 say hiatus! TFTC

Thanks for this awesome cache and for your help with the coordinates. Very Happy

18-Dec-21
Last on my list of only a few caches to grab this morning, I must say the properties around here are...shall we say...comfortable to say the least. Wink

I found a reasonable place to park where a local was mowing his huge lawn in the heat of the day, and headed toward GZ. On approach, the hiding place became obvious and the container was swiftly in hand on arrival. Nicely tucked out of muggles eyesight, I added my name to the log and tucked the cache back, before adding a little morecamo to it for safety. [^]

Cheers kolour.

I first stopped here when mother brought the family in the 1950s. I gather she must have visited at some stage while it was still owned by the Thomas family. The on 13th September 2007 there was a cache by Hawmorfords, "Eclipse Bouganvillia" which I logged - long since archived. Had a few spare moments this morning, so I had another amble in these pleasant surrounds and found a cache! TNLN, TFTC kolour.

Heading back into Brisbane after a lovely walk on Mount Cootha, we decided to take a detour here. I remember finding a Geocache this park some years ago, although it doesn’t seem to exist now. The park was fairly quiet today, with just a family party happening on the grass.
We enjoyed a walk around the area, collecting numbers as we went. We had no idea about the history of this area and it must’ve been a beautiful working property in its time. it’s lovely that the area is now a beautiful garden.
After collecting the numbers it was a short walk down to GZ where we made a quick find. We have had our name to the log.
Thanks Kolour

Today after lunch, jesswrigley decided to head out for some shopping, so I thought I would then spend the early afternoon in visiting a few geocaches. Not wanting to travel too far, I made the drive to Indooroopilly, and took a drive around seeing some of the various parks and reserves. Thomas Park Bougainvillea Gardens were a highlight, as well jogging a few of the trails along the river.

I needed a multi-cache type for today's calendar day, and so I had selected this cache as a friendly one to complete whilst in the area. In the end, I found this multi-cache fantastic, and perhaps ideal/perfect to a typical multi-cache that I like to complete. A great location, with interesting history described by various signage, and I didn't have any issues collecting tha answers to the questions. A checker was supplied to confirm my working, of which appeared to give me the ok upon my first attempt at GZ. I then took the short walk to GZ, where the cache was quickly found. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, and I grabbed the two TBs for onwards travels. Lovely gardens, and worthy of a geocache placement to encourage visits and learn of its history, so a Favourite Point from me! Thanks kolour for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

01-Sep-21
Check on the cache and all is good as well as dropping off a trackable.

27-Jul-21
Today I took a solo run to St Lucia to collect this CO's park caches.

This was a very interesting cache, and I learnt a lot about the area while collecting the info required. With the numbers plotted I headed to GZ, where I made a quick find. I noted only 1 TB in the container. TFTC, kolour.

24-Jul-21
Beautiful gardens here didn’t know they existed!

14-Jul-21
Checked on this one and all good here though a little damp. The other two trackables are still there. They are unusual types.

10-Jul-21
Had a sluggish morning with 2 DNFs so when I arrived here I thought, cache or not what a beautiful spot. Set about sorting the numbers and soon had somewhere that looked OK. A wander on to the GZ and all good here. Collected a TB but sitting here at home I'm thinking the other 2 may be missing as I didn't notice them. Hope it's just my tired brain. However this is a fantastic cache and made my morning. A favourite from me, thanks kolour.

Well, a lazy day out around inner south Brisbane, and after a lovely trundle around this cute park I wondered off and made a quick find. Ta.
Thanks kolour for entertaining me at this location.
Cool *{Overall find #9149}* Cool

On the bike ride around the river loop today. Parked the bike and went for a walk around the gardens collecting the clues. Soon had a good set of numbers and read carefully what to do with them. A short walk down to the GZ and there was a couple of possible spots, but the GPS said a little further and found it. TFTC

14-Feb-21
Checking on cache. Little damp but all good. Left two trackables.

20-Jan-21
Arrived as the sunset, enjoyed a walk around even if I have been here before.
Was a bit skeptical of my calculations but after double-checking, we set off.
It was correct and the cache was soon found-
The silhouettes of the bats and bunya pines against the darkening sky felt like out of this world.

Thank you for this multi

I think this is the third time that I have been to this lovely park to find a cache and I always see a different part of it. Today, I took the first class tour of the area.

The numbers came out with a likely location the first time and I headed there for a quick find.

Thanks kolour for bringing me back for another visit.

01-Jan-21
What an interesting multi...even though I’ve been here once before caching I never ventured into the park... quite the history lesson...

This is a nicely set out multi that I managed to put the wrong digit into my calculations, and disregarding the checksum my co-ordinates had me in the middle of the river... so it was easy to correct my rookie mistake and get a much more promising set of numbers...

Cache located, mark made and returned as found... tftc... left Travel Bug Dog Tag to continue on... it wants to get to Legoland...

FTF with goldielover this morning. The dogs needed a walk. What better way than a wander around a secret park. Have even played golf very near but never seen this park.
Thanks for bringing us here.

FTF with stairman1 and geopuppies. Stairman1 decided at 4.30 this morning it would be a good idea to grab this one . We grabbed geodogs and headed off. At 5 am it was already steamy. I have never been here before and there is so much history here. It was a nice easy multi and soon we had the right answers and headed to gz. Had to fight off a few mozzies but was happy to find a nice clean page. Thank you for bringing me here. Our pioneers would be shocked with the development of the area .TFTC A favourite from me.

19-Dec-20
I’ve been here for a cache. Score but had no idea the park was so big or the history of it. Thanks for the cache

19-Dec-20
I know this area pretty well but certainly hadn’t read any of the info boards. The one with the picture of the young people having a picnic was pretty moving because I went to at least one picnic here as a young person myself.
A lovely walk around and the number crunching was not too stressful, leading to an easy find. TFTC and a Fave point from me.

Must be a good park!
