Great. Thanks

They're Much Older Than That (Otago)Dunedin MEGA Thursday! A bit of sightseeing and of course some caching. It was a great privilege to find some amazing caches in such a beautiful place. A massive thank you to all of the COs for the preparation, placement and maintenance of these caches. TFTC Natalie247# 10600CheersWillis007

Thank you, Katie. Would not have found this otherwise. Read the logs! Always helps! #10673

DNF this one. Maybe its attachment has already suffered the fate of ones further down the track?

I feel this would have been easier to find if I hadn't read the hint. Coordinates are spot on but it is no longer an accurate description of the placement. I grabbed this at the end of an adventure filled morning geocaching with P&Vee. She pointed me in the right direction and perseverance did the rest. Thanks to Natalie247 for creating such a rich caching environment in this area

16-Nov-23
Mum and I headed out this way today to tick off some caches, stupidly forgot there was no reception. My geocaching map was already loaded so I could still track my location - but we had to get each one without any hints - which made it all the more fun! No DNFs.. surprisingly!Took longer to spot this one than it should have! Signed and replaced no problem.

08-Sep-23
Last for this area today, but will be back to complete others in this area.

15-Aug-23
Geocache cycle tour
Another easy find in a great neck of the woods

14-Aug-23
We came out to see the Pyramids and get a much needed D5/T4 cache to fill a blank spot. Marked all the caches on the way to find our way here. Great poster photo for the cache. Thanks for this cache Natalie247.

TFTC end of the road very windy

30-May-23
A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache.

Ms_KR and I are heading to Invercargill for a tramping club 75th jubilee, so we left a bit early in hope that the weather would be fine, so we could get a bit of caching in. So far it has been good, fingers crossed for the rest of the time away.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.

30-May-23
KR was at the pyramids, having not found this before a muggle arrived, while I was reading in the car. I had to wait for them to leave. Then the farmer was rounding up sheep. Then I looked here and there and found it before having to decode Katie w's code. (Now obvious!) Thanks Natalie247

29-May-23
Found it. TFTC

18-Apr-23
I had a few interested onlookers as I signed the log. Only a couple of metres Away but on the other side of the fence. Thanks

16-Mar-23
Thanks for the cache and greetings from Czechia

16-Mar-23
We couldn't find this on our way down to the beach, but walked right up to it when returning to the car (using katie w's log to guide us). TFTC. We enjoyed our morning out, along with grandson Max since the teachers were on strike today.

12-Mar-23
What a way to start off a visit to the pyramids with my special friend KJR. Car parked, walking shoes on, short stroll and it's searching time. After fossicking around the bounty was found. So much satisfaction! TFTC

02-Mar-23
I didn't spot it even reading prior logs

26-Feb-23
Glad we’ve got that one! TFTC

01-Feb-23
I initially thought that this would be a DNF, but on the way back to the car I had another go at finding it. No longer hanging/at shin height, but onfr bs cbfg. I put in a new(but not waterproof) log paper as log full. Cheers Natalie.

14-Jan-23
Came out here for a challenge cache as the tide was due to be low. Left myself enough time to climb the pyramid and complete the loop track as well as finding several (ok all) the caches along the way.

I first came here when I was 21 on a sort of date with the lovely lady who is now my wife.

01-Jan-23
New Year’s Day walk, cheers!

To the rock pile. With the whole crew

Didn't even know we had pyramids! Awesome view will walk the track another day. Didn't have service so relied on knowing what to look for. Awesome hide, TFTC Smile

A weekday treat - a morning walk with family on the Otago Peninsula. Quick find here. Tftc

14-Aug-22
It was a beautiful winter Sunday and we were wanting to spend time in the outdoors. The pyramids seemed like the ideal solution- a walk, a few caches and then back to a cafe in Portobello. Perfect!

We found this after quite a struggle realising that the clue was no longer appropriate. It is more of a ground level with rock on top. Be nice tohave the clue updated, tftc.

06-Jun-22
A bit of a family day out. Nice quick find as had read previous logs

28-May-22
If only we had read the previous logs before we got here, as like the last cacher we were looking for a bison at shin height as per the hint and not the replacement cache. We were also a bit thrown by a lanyard that had been hung by the gate and could have had a bison at the right height (really not sure why we thought that was how anything could be "hidden", tiredness could be our excuse).
Never mind it's another excuse to return to the area next year.

05-May-22
Now that I've read previous logs I realise I was looking in the wrong place. I only had the last 5 logs and no cell coverage to do an update for more

28-Dec-21
Found it

06-Nov-21
Had a good look around but could not find it

16-Oct-21
Got it this time! Hevic and I, plus an enlightened muggle friend of ours, didn't get this one last time - as soon as we got to GZ it started hailing. I returned today with Hevic and this time, the weather and time were both on our side so I was able to make the find. No dramas otherwise - glad to be able to tick this one off my list. Cheers!

16-Oct-21
Out and about with way for KJR's event. I was on a mission to get the points needed for reach the peak. TFTC Natalie247

08-Oct-21
Last cache for the day, as we went to Sandfly bay and had no coverage / not downloaded any cache, after leaving Okia reserve. It took us a bit longer, as the hint was not up to date and the GPs not so precise. Both container and logbook were in good condition. Thanks for placing the cache in the reserve, we would not have heard about it otherwise.

Level 2

18-Aug-21
As the country enters Level 4 (lockdown), https://covid19.govt.nz

It is strongly recommend that whilst we go for a walk for exercise, we need to take care on shared surfaces and geocaching should not be done at this time; https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/New+Zealand

To remove temptation, I am disabling this cache and ask kindly that you do not find this cache during lockdown.

Remember there is more than physically finding a cache, there are plenty of puzzle caches you can do at home. Or if you live near a multi you can walk the trail and save the find for another day. For more info or connect with wider community see Geocaching New Zealand on Facebook.

Stay home, stay safe and save lives.

12-Aug-21
Fearing a dnf I checked the logs. Then easily found the replacement.

07-Aug-21
DNF. According to previous logs it should be an easy find, but it wasn't quick enough for us - the reason being Dunedin's (in)famous weather. We saw it coming in and thought we'd get the cache in time but the first drops started just as we got to GZ and the hail started (quite literally) a minute later, so we hightailed it to the car instead. We left a few other caches alone on this trail to give me an incentive to come back, so I'll leave this one until then too.

31-Jul-21
No container have replaced with pill bottle. Base of post. Place carefully so it does roll down the bank. Someone has taken the bison tube and just left the log sheet stuck on the barded wire.

26-Jul-21
A winters day and no one about which always make finding a cache easier when you don't need to worry about muggles. A quick find for us here.

25-Jul-21
A short rehabilitation bike ride from Portobello this morning. Second stop of 6 - this corner of the peninsula has suddenly turned into a power trail! Only one car, unusual but partly because it's a chilly wind and partly because winter and covid =fewer tourist campervans? Made for an uninterrupted find.

Down in dunnas for the weekend ...on a long overdue caching mission around the city with kjr as my guide.....
Had to twist kirstys arm (not) to come out to her favourite place so I could get these knew ones ..quick find tftc

09-Jun-21
I was here many years ago but I remember nothing about it - time for a return trip. An easy one to start with. Thanks.

17-May-21
Day four of my SI, east coast Geotour.
The Otago Peninsula warranted my attention this morning.
I couldn't stop for this one on my way in as there were two guys sorting out their ATV's before they drove in to maintain the trap lines. A quick find on my way out instead.
TFTC

26-Apr-21
Nice find.

04-Apr-21
A quick easy find by a very full car park today, despite the strong winds. TFTC

29-Mar-21
Had to look for this one without the hint etc as I had no signal and hadn't downloaded the info.
With only the GPS to go by, looked all over and almost gave up. Found something that looked as though it might be a cache, but was something to do with a sprinkler system I think! Decided to try again one last time and woohoo - found at last. TFTC.

01-Mar-21
Came put this way to grab a challenge cache so of course we had to get all the others on the track as well. Good thing we had the GPS with caches loaded as I hadn't managed to get them all on the phone before we dropped out of service. A quick find here. tftc

21-Feb-21
Lovely summers day for a wee geo adventure to one of my most favorite places. Nice quick find here TFTC

19-Feb-21

Kia ora for the cache

06-Jan-21
Nearly had this cache lost as i replaced it, but it came to a stop on its fall still in reach and is firmly in place. Good walk and a good find. Tftc!

01-Jan-21
Raining in Dunedin this morning after the sunrise event this morning so headed out to the Pyramids. Conditions good for the walk in. Cache soon located, TFTC .

01-Jan-21
Streetwalkernz and Troodles are staying with us so we set off on a caching expedition in spite of the inclement weather. Our primary goal was Natalie's latest puzzle, but (obviously) we could not walk past the caches on the way, and this made a good start.

Troodles set off while the rest of us were still putting on rain gear, and very soon we heard the cry, so we all trooped over to sign.

TNLN. TFTC.

01-Jan-21
Found with StreetWalkerNZ and Mr and Mrs KiwiChris on a less than ideal caching day; wet underfoot and off and on rain. We were aiming to find the TMGT Trading with Whalers cache, but decided to make a detour here as we had solved the newly published puzzle cache.
This was a quick find, then out with the umbrella to keep the rain off while we did the paper work. Spotted drawp and Bitsprayer's names in the log book so knew the FTF was long gone. TFTC.

01-Jan-21
#19146. First cache of 2021! Quick find to start our walk. TFTC.

20-Dec-20
This one was more or less handed to me on a platter....thanks to Hall-way having just made the find as I clambered over the fence. The first of a fun day out. TFTC

20-Dec-20
We went to Nat’s #100 event, then as one would expect looked out most of the caches in the area, including this one. Cache found quickly on the return.
What a great location. Thanks for the smiley

20-Dec-20
FTF. Easy find. A bit annoying to arrive home from doing two caches here that were published yesterday, to find another had popped up just metres from this one. What's the point of that? I think I will have a soapbox moment when I return to find the latest one. TFTC.

20-Dec-20
Cache 494 ?? back to the car park and there was 1 last cache to grab, nice easy find lots of names for a brand new cache. T4TC ??

20-Dec-20
Another easy find here today after the nearby event. Had some challenge with returning the cache to it's spot with my clumsy fingers. Found with Spoonz2. TFTC

20-Dec-20
Heading down the track for the near by event. Easy find of this new one.

20-Dec-20
I did like that picture which appeared in one of the promotions for Dunedin. And another find on the way back from the event, with Wilbywarrior.

20-Dec-20
This was the last find for me of the newly published caches in this area. I grabbed it after attending the nearby event.

20-Dec-20
Delivered on a plate for us, the young legs ran ahead and had the log ready for us!
Thanks

20-Dec-20
Newly published, a quick find on the way to Natalies #100 event accompanied by a few more attendees. We arrived at and parked up, there was a large group of people there close to GZ.. no familiar faces, so left this one for the way back tftc

20-Dec-20
A fun day out caching with nana (wombats_4) found with a group of cachers on Natalies #100th event day quick find tftc Natalie

20-Dec-20
Thank you fort his cache, too, Natalie247.
It has been a fun few hours, exploring new territory, attending the Event & team caching!
It was well worth organising my break around this day.

20-Dec-20
Last on here for the day. - Thanks Bitsprayer

20-Dec-20
I have been wanting to visit this area for years since I firat noticed it due to a now archived earthcache. I was surprised at the number of cars here and because of that even more surprised at how few names there were on the log. All done and now I needed to get sprinting so I could make the event before the finish time. TFTC # 16,307
