I went straight down the grass bank towards the big tree before realising that the cache was a bit further away. When I got to GZ I quickly spotted the cache, and a slightly easier route that I could have taken.

Headed out this way for a coffee and caching with Mrs NZT....wow it was hot today!!

Didn't get too stumped at this one although when Mrs NZT first proudly displayed what she thought was the cache I thought she may have gotten it wrong and it was something else entirely!!! I'm glad I was wrong!

Thanks for the cache

29-Dec-22
Enjoyed the walk along the coast here. This oe had us thinking for a bit but once we located the hint item we had the cache in hand. As I grabbed it I did think that I was glad it was the cache container and not a K9 deposit! Good Camo here!

28-Dec-22
Tricky one cos i was getting eaten alive by mozzies & so my hasty searching made life more difficult. Was about to walk away when i spotted it. Log it almost falling to bits. TFTC Big Grin

Very tricky - GPS location way off close to turn off on to path

08-Aug-22
We hatched a plan with Tufty to visit Waiuku for the day to collect as many caches as we could before the rains came down. After doing the other section of the beach trail we moved the vehicles and set off to find the next coastal caches starting with this one.
Just as well for the specific hint here, or we would have had difficulty finding this very nicely camoed container. Well done and TFTC

08-Aug-22
Kiwicouple and I had planned for today that we would try and sign off as many of the Waiuku caches as we could. I was limited to smallish walks as I was trying to 'run in' my new replacement knee. So we brought two vehicles out with the idea of placing one at each end of the walks. This did prove very successful.

The coords were about 7m out by my GPS.

Cheers for the cache.

Last cache of the day

GPS kept going in different locations, even with the hint I struggled so much lol

Was about to give up until I finally found it, best camo I've seen from flossy so far. Looking forward to going around the other cache pathway Smile

NZ MEGA 2020 (in 2022) road trip - Day 7

Having had a fantastic day on Browns Island on Sunday, another member of Team Done by 1 (RustyNZ) and I arranged to go looking for the Crayola 64 series. Having completed it by mid-afternoon, we decided that neither of us fancied battling peak hour traffic so would do some more caching around this area. It's been about 10 years since I was last here in Waiuku, and this is my first visit here as a geocacher.

The weather made for a very pleasant walk along here this evening. We were strolling slowly by this time due to both being tired by now (R had far better cause than I to feel tired) but this was a part of our day to take things a bit gentler, so we did.

I walked past this one initially, as my GPS took me a little further along the path, but the Hint put me right after which it was a quick find of the nicely camo'd container. I can't print here what I told R it looked like to me, as that would be a spoiler. No problems to report, and our names were soon added to the log, before we headed off to the next cache on what would end up being a really long, but worthwhile day. I had my best single day ever with over 100 finds Smile

Thanks for placing this cache.

27-Jan-22
Well the phone seemed to bounce around under the tree cover, but with the help of a great hint, we were soon finding the cache.

Amazing camo again, some discussion as to your methods Big Grin

Thanks again flossy63 for your hides and bringing us here, with TwigNZ

07-Jan-22
Container was creative. Probably best not to go off piste from the previous cache to here but it can be done. Waiuku lives up to its name I'd recommend the road. Tftc

07-Jan-22
A nice quick find thanks. We were glad to get here as we ended up wandering around the shoreline from the point. A bit of a mistake, but we didn't fall over and we really needed to clean our shoes at the end of it!

Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Wellington and beyond here we come. Today we toured around Waiuku area and found some new spots to us. It is a hot summer so far!

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Nice tricky little cache here, the clue kind of gives its little hiding spot away.
TFTC...Favorite point given

Fairly easy find with the help of the hint. Tftc

Today I started off to Waiuku to do this "new" series and to make some points for the "Reach The Peak" challenge. I tried to find the 10 caches on this little spit of land and it was a successful day for me, since I found most of them. Smile

I was very positively surprised by this well-made series. The caches are without exception nicely hidden, fitted with good hints, rich in variety and creativity and plus located in a very beautiful scenery. The weather also played its part to make it a perfect day of caching for me and my team.

Thanks so much for hiding and maintaining this great series. The CO has put lots of effort in it and it turned out to be very enjoyable! Also thank you for taking me here to this nice walkway, which I probably would never have discovered, wasn't it for Geocaching.
Logs are signed as team Piraten (Piratenschatzsucher!, Pyphant and Greenkiwikids)

With the help of the hint it was easy (as soon as i found the right hint object)
FP from me for the nice scenery. Tftc

20-Jun-21
When we spotted the dnfs in the previous logs (Gorby hadnt logged his find at this point) we wondered if we would be able to find this one. We looked in a few places and didnt have any luck so read some of the logs. From this we found another hint which helped us to narrow down our search and were very happy to find this very nicely hidden cache. How sneaky.

19-Jun-21
Well, after 3 DNF's here I had to smile to myself when I found the cache! I was very chuffed to say the least and boy a cunning hide. To the previous unlucky searchers... keep searching, it IS there.

Boy, talk about muggle city! I thought this track would have been muggle free, at least 3 sorts of muggles passed me by, each time I had to pretend I was googling something on my phone. One family went past sooooo slowly, got to the top of the small hill, turned around and dawdled past me again, grhhh.

One guy spotted part of a tree that had fallen down across the track, right by GZ, didn't block it though all together, he said to me the trees need pruning around here, and that he might come back with a hand saw! I hoped that wasn't going to happen while I was still finding the cache! Lol.... anyway, I got there in the end. A FP from me flossy, a very clever little hide.

26-Apr-21
Found post with red dot on top. Then found some wire about 20cm long near a root of a stump but alas no cache

25-Apr-21
Didn't find it

25-Apr-21
Look hard. We found a post with a red dot and lots of stumps but did not find.

03-Apr-21
Our last find on this section of the walkway and probably the trickiest.
The GPS on our phone was bouncing around a bit so we initially searched in slightly the wrong spot but once we expanded our search it didn't take too long to locate the cache, but we must say it was very nicely hidden and blends in so well.
Thanks once again flossy63.

On a girls roadtrip to Waiuku with Supernannny, Nette1234 and Merlot58. This was the last one along this trail for us today, so we were not stumped as to which way to go as we went back the same way we came. A quick find here by the leader of the group (Nette).

One more easy find for our group thanks....
Having a great time caching these new Waiuku caches thanks flossy.

Find number 7196. My daughter who lives in Waiuku is currently walking some of the Te Araroa and was arriving in Takanini today so I arranged to meet her and take her back to her place for the night. She had walked over 30km today so just wanted to rest so while she showered and sat on the sofa I went and collected these newish caches in town.
This was a straight forward find. Well at least compared to the previous one.
Thank you for the placement.

27-Dec-20
Luckily we went the right way and didn't get stumped lol. Quick find by Kittycat432. SLTNLN TFTC. Now to walk all the way back to cache owners home and drive back to the local campsite, having enjoyed an afternoon out, getting a sunburnt head, and walking off Christmas Dinner.

This area looks very familiar from the Ghost of Caches Past. (See what I did there? No? Well, don't worry it wasn't that good anyways.)
I wasn't sure where to look until I re-read the hint. TFTC.
