Heading home from Winton and decided a leg stretch was in order so pulled up in this rest area. On a whim checked for nearby caches and there was this one not very far away so pulled out the GPSr and went hunting. Had the cache in hand once at GZ. Thanks to robmc for this one.

Found by The Empire + HWe left Bright in the morning, the crisp mountain air still fresh as we set off on our drive back to Melbourne. The early light cast a soft glow over the landscape, highlighting the mist clinging to the hills and the dewy greenery along the roadside. The quiet streets of Bright slowly disappeared behind us as we made our way onto the winding roads leading out of the Alpine region.By the time we reached the open plains, the familiar sight of Melbourne on the horizon marked the end of our journey. The shift from the serenity of the mountains to the bustling energy of the city was striking, but the calm of the morning drive stayed with us, making the return feel more relaxed and reflective. A quick find here before jumping off the freeway to right a wrong from the way up. Thanks for the cache Robmc.-M

Needing to fill a calendar spot today I was hoping work would take me away from Shepparton and it did. I had a late afternoon trip to Melbourne so checked the map and decided this one would be the least diversion off the freeway. I was rapt on parking to see I was only 7m away from GZ and it turned out to be a very quick find. I even managed to grab a few cans and bottles for the recycling collection. Love that there are caches at just about every roadside stop between Melbourne and the VIC/NSW border. Thanks Robmc for your efforts. Nice hide TFTC

Yesterday during our road-trip we had quite the amazing time, seeing wild koalas and traveling over 500 kilometers across the country. Today we woke up in Warragul and our plan was to get relatively close back to Melbourne, though it wasnt necessarily our destination. I had planned our trip to head a little further north before returning to the big city to visit three particular stashes and we werent really in a rush to make it back to the city. Our day was nonetheless quite busy and ended delightfully in [an STF](https://coord.info/GL1BXAH1P); but more on that later. The highlight of our day was behind us, as I was excited to visit [Victorias 1st stash](https://coord.info/GC7A), which we found in good health and filled in another spot in our Jasmer grid. From there we headed towards the city and as we drove we took a break and visited this stash. At GZ, I noted that *the entire area smelt like pee from truckers*, But I found the stash quickly, with both the logbook and container being in ok condition. I opened up the logbook and at 4:53 pm stamped in our nick, making this our 7182nd overall find. Thank you Robmc, for placing and maintaining your Travelling South - Single Line Pole stash; we were glad to visit it and spice up our Wednesday while down under in Australia for our spring break, visiting from slightly-distant Myanmar! We snapped a photo and returned the stash as we found it, and appreciate the opportunity for a find and visiting another new location. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. For my own personal statistics; this is the one hundred & fifth of 112 geocaches we visited down under while on spring break, excluding the 56 adventure lab caches we visited and 28 Waymarks visited.

Found at 8:21 AM GAFF1.Ahh - the smell of stale urine in the early morning dew Razz Surprised that the cache is still there! On our way to Melbourne to get our van's drinking water pump replaced and to have the ISI bike rack fitted, we stopped to grab this cache which we can't understand why we didn't do it years ago? Maybe we were always in a hurry to meet a deadline like pick up the grandchildren from school? Thanks to Robmc

21-Dec-23
Stopped here as indeed, it is about the last chance before Melbourne to pull off for a quick stop. Chance for a loo break, catch up on my messages and plug in directions. This cache first which was a nice straight forward find. Passed the trucky having a pee by his truck on my way to the car, fair... as I stopped at the loos before I left, an experience! A good stop though, and great to get out and stretch a bit as it was the first stop of the morning.

12-Dec-23
Another successful stop and grab, thank you for the cache

06-Dec-23
Heading south with plenty of time to spare I decided to, where convenient, stop at rest areas to ascertain if any caches were there. Yes there was and yes I found it. Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache which gives us geocachers a reason to break our journeys.

In Victoria for a weekend away in Echuca Moama to see friends. Cache found as heading back into Melbourne. I left a TB. It was a tad too big for the container so its under it !! It wanted to be back in VIC for Christmas ! TFTC.

20-Oct-23
After the week in Bright it was time to head home to Melbourne... via a longer than normal route so I could find caches in the Greater Shepparton and Campaspe LGAs... the things you do when you get bitten by the "challenges bug"... After a busy day that saw me find 30 caches, I am almost home. Time for a *leg stretch* before tackling Melbourne traffic... and a cache of course! Thanks **Robmc** for putting this one here.

A try opted to get this one and nearly said forget it. Obviously a cattle truck stopped there recently and there’s excrement everywhere and it stinks. I held my breath and walked quickly and had cache in hand. Tftc.

27-Aug-23
We finished our weekend away doing the Shepparton Marathon and hunting geocaches in the Campaspe, Moira and Shepparton LGAs. We increased my total to over 20 geocaches in each of these LGAs and its now time to head home.

However needed to stop a few times for some extra geocaches. Time for a pit stop and a stroll to stretch the legs. Geocaches just a little wet, but still ok to sign.

Thanks for the cache Robmc

Finally….is the only word that comes to mind. Every time we have been southbound heading to the big smoke, there has always been a muggle semi or car parked basically at GZ. Well today, on our way down to see Ed do his stuff, we pulled off the freeway to chance our luck…and today was the day. TFTC Robmc

29-Jan-23
The OSHFAM clan including geo dog Roxy came up to Punkah for a few days to spend time in our shack before school starts next week. On Saturday lunchtime, I sent the family home and Roxy and I stayed on for an extra night on our own enjoying caching adventures. Today it was time to head home again, so after packing up, Roxy and I hit the road around lunchtime and didn't get home til 8pm caching our way all the way home.

I always stick to the main road when driving back home but today without whinging kids and hubby, I decided to venture out onto the backroads to grab a few caches and stop at all the unfound southbound caches along the highway.

A quick stop followed by a quick find. The cache and log in good condition.

Thank you for the cache here Robmc

#20394. Travelling with the CO today, heading down to Melbourne and we stopped here for Rob to check the cache and for me to sign the log book. The inside of the container and its contents were certainly very wet so we have dried out the container and left a new log book and pencil. All clean and fresh and ready for further finds.

07-Nov-22
Found it but the inside of the container is soaking wet and the log is unsignable. Was covered in bugs as well.

29-Sep-22
Our second last cache find for this trip to Rutherglen and home.
The temperature had dropped 7 degrees since leaving the North East of the state.
And the clouds had returned.
A quick find here but the cache and log are wet.
Dried out as best as we could.
Thanks to Robmc for this hide.
Now to join the very busy highway traffic again.

#6101.
I had to head down to Melbourne for a business trip and the best thing about the trip is the occasional break for a cache. Thanks for placing these caches that offer something to get excited about. Cache was quickly found, the log was a bit damp, but still good enough to scribble my name on. TFTC!

After having found some of the Travelling North caches yesterday as we headed to Seymour, we looked for two Travelling South caches as we headed towards Melbourne to board The Spirit of Tasmania for home. The sun had set by the time we arrived and torch light was necessary. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Robmc for this cache and for the others you have placed along the Hume to break up the journey.
