There is nothing better for my soul then a wander through woodlands listening to the bird life in the bushes, watching rabbits bounce around like they dont have a care in the world and the smell of damp soil and eucalyptus after rain. Its so uplifting for me.A reasonably quick find before following the tracks to the next find.TFTC sir spectreKeep smiling

After visiting my parents today, it was off for the usual local wander. I was in this area during the summer months, and my spidy senses were tingling, no, too many snakes watching me.

Back again today, and it was drizzling a little. I donned the all weather jacket with hoody, and trekked into these woods like a real bushwalker. The Dales here are gems, plenty of up and down that would make a wedding night groom jealous. I arrive at the junction and just knew which tree. The spectre and mini-maker have great taste in tree selection. I found the lovely object, peering at me. Time has not been kind to the makers wonderful creation, and a wing fluttered through the air to my feet. The log and contents were in great shape, and once restowed, the wing was returned to have pride of place.

Thanks for a delightful cache on a super afternoon of drizzle and bushwalking. Find #8265 at 4.09pm

The adventures of Sparkie and Goldy have returned, this time for some caches around Mount Barker, Nairne, Kanmantoo and Callington.

An 8:30AM start, followed by laughs, lots of potholes, Hungry Jacks for lunch and 21 caches for the day with a handful of DNFs.

Final cache of the day. A quick find here.

Thanks sir_spectre and Mini Maker for this cache.

This brings my find count to 2424 on the 26th of January 2023

Found on a Thursday afternoon amble, when we stayed in Hahndorf for a couple of nights. This is my first cache in Sth Australia since 2014, so thanks for that. The butterfly is all good at GZ, although the logs are quite damp. Signed and replaced as found. Be careful of the beautiful bees nearby! Thanks for the cache!!

Find 11 of 33 on a busy caching day - out to Mount Barker for a bush walk, Hanhdorf for lunch and an Ad Lab, then e-scooting all over town for the afternoon and finally out to Port Adelaide for a FTF.

Re-tracing our steps through the tunnel, we called in on this one on our way back to the car.

Today I needed to find just three caches to complete loop 11 for my calendar. [^] I had been saving close to home caches for just such a day so today I finally went out to get a few of them. Cool

This was the first and it had been a while since I had been for a walk through Totness and an even longer time since I had cast a line looking for the redfin that can be caught here. Wink No time for fishing today so I just settled for a walk and finding this cute cache. Smile That done I locked in my next cache which was only a short distance away but someone put a bloody great freeway in the way. Twisted There is a way through and I have done it in the past but it is really only for vertically challenged people.! [:o)]

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. Twisted So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. Cool That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]

***Thanks sir_spectre for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

Hi sir_spectre, hi Mini Maker.
We recently found some caches of various colours at Port Elliot.
Tonight we found your butterfly in the dark and in the drizzle. Inside we found a trackable, which we've taken.
Thank you for placing this cache here in Totness. We like walking in TCP and it's been fun collecting smileys as we go.
TFTC sir_spectre and Mini Maker.

There are lots of great caches in this little patch of wilderness.

No problems here. Cache and contents both in good condition.

After a BBQ lunch at a nice spot in the hills headed for the Totness Recreation Park for a walk with the main aim being a relatively new traditional and this was that traditional. Have been here before when younger, and fitter, had forgotten how steep some of the trails are. Spotted the potential tree on approach and soon spotted the nicely decorated cache. The only thing removed from THIS cache was the log and it was replaced as found.
Thanks to sir_spectre for placing this cache here for me to find

21-Feb-21
That might be head height for some, but for those of us who are vertically challenged, it was quite a stretch. Managed to retrieve and sign the log (with a dodgy pen!)
The plus side is, it's much easier to get through the tunnel when you are shorter. TFTC

Exploring the area today and made a bit of time to grab this one. Nice walk. cache and contents are all good tftc

07-Feb-21
Hoping to catch your eye
Circling around you, oh my
Butterfly, butterfly, come into the light
Oh, what a beautiful sight
Flying so gracefully
Into the sky, the butterfly
Trying to catch a butterfly
Fly, fly, fly, butterfly
There he sets upon the mums
I'm having so much fun
Here's another on the sill
Your standing so still
You go to touch him
There he goes, the butterfly
I hear a tapping on the window
It's the butterfly, fly, fly, fly
There he goes into the sky
Flying so high, the butterfly
I'll see you another day
Butterfly, butterfly, away

Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

#291

Came out with the son for a walk around. If memory serves right this was the site of an old container we also found a couple of years ago. The elevation is a bit different for this one though!

Quick sign while appreciating the effort put in here. The son thought it was really cool.
