Today, I was joined by Seffnjarah on a caching run around the northside, collecting interesting puzzles and the odd higher DT cache here and there.Last for the day. As we were parked on the other side of the water, Seff graciously offered to get his shoes wet, rather than walk the long way round. All OK here. Many thanks Willis007Pete#8,081

1018 for the tribe

After a mad dash around the bush before sundown grabbing some traditionals and ALs needed a dinner break, and enjoyed some absolutely amazing local cuisine before tackling two caches from this epic drumming geoart. Not being a drummer, I have learnt so much from solving these puzzles about drums, rudiments and Phil Collins, among other things, and have much to learn with the ones I am yet to complete. A big thank you to the CO for placing and maintaining this geoart. All in good order and condition here, log signed as R&T.

28/1/2023 Find #5657
Out to beat a spot of boredom on a warm Sat arvo before needing to collect 1GiantPanda from work locally at 6pm. I opted for some more close to home/his work Dum Beat caches and a bit of a walk to get up a few steps. Unfortunately I couldn’t get near the first cache I parked at, as a family was having a BBQ picnic right opposite, and there was far too much interest in the water here. So I decided to skip it and continue on my way around, hoping maybe, just maybe, they may have moved on by the time I had completed my journey.
Heading to this one I was grateful for a muggle free escapade, with a man over the other side reading a book, completely oblivious to me and my foolings.
Heading in from the right angle I quickly saw the cache.
Thanks for the cache Willis007.

13-Dec-22
A Drum Beat puzzle that I had solved back in March 2021, and it only required some research and logic that even I could solve with my limited music knowledge.

Today, my vehicle was required to be serviced/repaired in Kedron, which gave me an opportunity to stop at a few geocaches around Chermside whilst I was on my way home. Older geocaches were targeted during my small time window, but otherwise, it was a pleasant late morning prior to the afternoon's planned thunderstorms.

This was my last cache find of the morning as I headed home; the nearby road was a common route of mine, and so I figured I'd quickly make the turn and then stop here. Thankfully, the cache was a quick find, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Willis007 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

On a day out with Barbbowman today discovering an area I have hardly ever seen. Now that I live closer - I shall be able to do more of the ones around here - it was a hot day too so that slowed us down a bit. A great day out with lots of laughs and finds. All caches were in good condition - or if needing maintenance we took care of it as we went around.
Thanks to the owners for adding to our enjoyment of the game today.

Had some time to spare this morning but needed to hang around this area so what to do? Well, not one to beat my own drum (so to speak) but having these puzzles solved and on my radar made for an excellent morning's entertainment. Spotted quickly here.
Thanks Willis007 for entertaining me at this location.

A swift park and grab for NurseyJulie and I to mix things up in this series. As we pulled up, I jumped out of the car and had the cache in hand before NJ was out of the car. Big Grin Names in the log and container tucked back in place, we took off on foot to the other nearby puzzle.

Cheers Willis007.

A young child told his mother, "When I grow up I'm going to be a drummer." His mother responded, "Well honey, you know you can't do both."

For this example, Drummer is interchangeable with many other nouns.

Enjoyable walk along the path mid week, not having to dodge or tempt muggles. Quick find exactly where the GPS said it would be, thanks Willis007 for the series to date.

Dodging the awakening bat poo was FUN!! TFTC

11-Sep-21
Thanks for the percussion lesson here. Guessed a couple, but googled quite a few here.
Having found another cache in the series close by, we walked along the stormwater drain and entered a bush area to get our second cache of the day. No one around this quiet little area. The cache container was spotted after a little while and log sheet signed. All good with the cache, sheet a little damp but easy to write on.
Thanks very much for the series Willis007. It’s a mammoth effort to solve and find these, and we have the easy job, so well done for creating such an interesting and diverse set of caches. Cheers

This one is close to home so one day came out to scout the area.
Had no luck that day.
Back today while the weather is fine, although a little cloudy.
My navigator was playing up so used an elimination process.
Ah, there you are. Found in good condition although it felt a little damp, maybe after last night's rain. All good though.
Signed and returned as found.
Thanks for the puzzle and TFTC

Series is now complete. Thanks Willis007 for lots of fun and TFTC.

Now that we have more freedom, it's time to get out and about. Target: More of the Drum Beat Series which we started a couple of weeks ago. I figure we shall need another day to finish them off. Our team met up at the Stafford City Shopping Center and we started from there. All up we had just the one DNF at #6.

Nice paint job on the cache! I had never realised where some of these instruments had originated. Thanks for the edification.

Log signed and cache replaced as found on 21st August 2021. TFTC, Willis007

I decided to swoop by and grab a couple caches from the Drum Beat series while on my home from work.

I had no issue spotting this one while I wandered over towards GZ. I quickly signed the log and continued down the path to the next one.

Thanks for giving me a reason to stop by Willis007.

This time after a small circle around GZ I made a quick find. TFTC, Willis007.

Another good location for a drive by collection after work. Probably should get started on solving the rest left to go. King Lizard was hardly even out of the car before I was heading back after the signing duties were done.

03-May-21
After we jumped out of the car I started looking away madly for the cache. I looked at Mrs Woodyrothwell who had this facial expression that resembled a stunned mullet. She was having one of those moments where she had completely forgotten why we were here.

I don’t know whether it’s menopause or she’s starting to go senile but she was lost in whatever thought she was buried in. I asked her whether she was up for reading some old logs when it dawned on her we were looking for caches. We had a bit of a laugh and as soon as she had her attention back in the game spied the hide seconds later.

I’m starting to think that when she conveniently forgets to stock the wine fridge her head isn’t in the game either. tftc

29-Apr-21
after work I decided to pop in on the way home and find a couple of caches. I am trying to continue a streak and so far I am up to 31 days in a row. this series is perfect as it is on my way home from work. I loved learning about all the different types of percussion instruments with this puzzle and at gz I soon spotted this cache. thankyou for all the fun

We have now set up camp at the Caboolture showgrounds. We have been joined for a couple of days by pprass.
Today was the 2nd day to finish off the drum series, the puzzles had been completed prior to leaving. home. So much information learnt about drummers & drumming.
This series today we spent about half & half of the time bike riding & by car. The bike riding was by far the most enjoyable.
Thankyou Willis007 for placing this cache.

A team effort to solve all the caches in this series in preparation for burgo78 visiting the big smoke.
Loaded the bikes this morning and set out to log the series by car and bike.
Met some friendly muggles, saw wallabies and a turtle, rode bikes in the mud, and through fast-flowing creeks.
Easy tree climbs and some hard-to-find ones.
Wet feet and shoes all day due to plenty of water in many parks.
The Kedron brook was flowing quickly, would have been an adrenaline-packed paddle today.

Thank you Willis007 for this series and my apologies for the copy-paste logs

It was dark and slightly rainy as I drove home this evening, but I "needed" a cache! This one was reported to be a quick find. Coords were good, but using a phone as a flashlight did not help one bit... TFTC!

Looking at this parcel, I thought it would be a very quick solve, however it did take a bit of juggling and a couple of goes to finally sort a green light and a confirmed set of coordinates.
Out for our trip and to collect as many of these as we could, and now happily full after a good lunch, this was a quick find at GZ, where we had parked the car close by.
Thanks Willis007.

Friday. Our main aim of the game today was to collect some more of these caches. We’d collected some unrelated solved puzzles earlier and we were hoping to grab several more, if not the rest of these caches to finish off the good looking geoart on our map. Another quick find after Mr SP dropped me off and found a better parking spot whilst I walked ahead. Container was at my limit of height though (glad I’m not any shorter).

This was the 7th of 15 caches found on this outing.

Thanks ***Willis007*** for showing us this place Razz

24-Feb-21
A puzzle that required some research, that of course then resulted in an enormous amount of ads selling me all sorts of drum related paraphernalia... and I have trouble holding the beat in a doof doof club in the valley... but I digress...

This was a nice quick find with spot on co-ordinates... tftc...

21-Feb-21
The drum beats are strong and keep calling me back. I think that this is my 4th visit to collect another few of them.

I pulled up near this one and as I walked across the road a muggle pulled out of their driveway. I suppose they wondered what I was heading into the trees for.

Not to worry, I soon spotted the cache. I am going to start wearing platform shoes to reach these caches.

We haven't had a really good geoart in a while and this one is certainly getting us back in the game!
Kudos to Willis007 for the effort put in.
#16 of 25 caches found today. Smile

Sorry PEPPA we are still using Google (I can't seem to get Duck Duck Go to install on my laptop) Sad
A quick search soon revealed the correct order we needed to collect the coordinates.
Now to collect a smilie. Smile
Mrs VC wasn't quite 'up' to this one so in came the cavalry.
The cache was calling 'Reach out and touch me' so I did.
Made our mark and replaced as found.

Out for the usual ride to Redcliffe this morning which includes a loop around through back blocks of Aspley. A check of the caching maps showed there were a couple of drums which could be played on the way home.

Now this cache is the closest to home ( of those solved) I'm pretty sure there are a number that are closer but I have not yet noticed any when playing with the Grand kids down the park.

Now if I a drew a line between this cache and home I would say the household with the drum player would be at the halfway point. Hence, when the drummer was practicing I would hear the drum both at my house and here at the cache. Fortunately the practicing has not occurred for several years now. When it was occurring it was usually in the late afternoons. This particular drummer did however engage in jam sessions most likely around the person's birthday. Usually once a year we would need to listen to a drum session up to midnight.

Now as for the cache which was showing just across from my back fence - well I solved it and that will involve a nice little bike ride in another valley. That will be for another day.

Out and about on the Geobikes today with Georode picking up a few of the drum series. All up we cycled almost 40 km's darting around the suburbs collecting smilies.

I've enjoyed solving the puzzles so far, however there are still quite a few for me to get my head around and get the green tick of approval. Lots more headaches to come for me.

Thanks Willis007 for the placement and upkeep of this series. ( I'm sure i'll be picking your brain and looking for hints in the coming weeks. Smile
