Today we went on another short cache tour to look for some caches from the Drum Series. Thanks for the entertaining cache seriesTeam sissifalke
Out today with ILTW and Legend to do some more of The Drum. All the puzzles have been done in advance so today is just a walk and find. Followed Brissy Cats cue and found it. TFTC
Out on a very warm day geocaching with Legend and Sniggypop to try to find the rest of the drum caches that we solved earlier this year. Couldn't spot anything from the ground so I went up to take a better look and there is was tucked away nicely.
I was on my way over to La Kedi's Birthday Bash at Teralba Park today and was looking for a few key attribute caches to find while over this side of town. One of those was of course a tree climb and this one looked both solvable and climbable.I haven't actually looked at all of the drum puzzles yet and so I had not actually solved this one before planning out my caches for the day. Thankfully it was pretty easy to work through and come up with the co-ordinates. The next challenge today was finding a park and accessing the tree. Once at the right place I looked up into the branches for quite a while without spotting anything. I decided I would just give it a go and see where I got to, and sure enough once I got up into the tree the cache was quickly found. Thanks Willis007 for another fun drummer puzzle and for the clever placement of this cache!
Padum padum. Another beat of the drum. Out on a caching trip collecting some drum beats, now that there finally has been a break in the heat wave. This was a bit tricky to access. We first approach it from the wrong side of the creek. No way were crossing that one. But we did think we got a visual on the cache itself. After a little bit of scouting the area we found a section of creek we could safely jump over. A short climb later we found it
In retrieving this one GG1 & I performed a mini CITO ALONG THE PATH FROM THE CAR TO GZ check her log to see the disgusting bag of sharps we gathered up on the side of the road. My pic shows a minor sampling of rubbish collected from the bush area. Otherwise the cache was found in good condition Thanks Willis007 for maintaining this fabulous series.
Muggle65 and l decided to empty our solved puzzle box a bit today. We hardly ever seem to go for the ones closer to home, so today was the day. This one is in great condition. Well, we have a new benchmark for "disgusting amount of rubbish near GZ" today. The pictures will give a better idea. I was VERY careful picking up the 70 something used needles. Bluuuuurrrk.Thank you for the fun
Introducing our neice to geocaching who loved the area on this one. Once we made our find, took a moment or two to admire the surrounds.
I think I found the right tree but couldn’t see the cache. Bit reluctant to try when I can’t see it from the ground. Will leave this for another day.
In the area this arvo so stopped for a climb. Made my way along a small track and with a couple of options near GZ, i chose the correct tree. Previous logs mentioned a full log so i added a piece of paper in as a temp log until the next maintenance run. Still working my way through the series. TFTC
A gap in the caching calendar had me itching to get out and about today, plus there is also the wheel of caches souvenirs to chase. I picked two more drumbeat series to target.
I had a search for the first one with no luck, and decided to continue here, and try with fresh eyes on the way back.
I navigated to where I thought I might be able to access the cache, having found a mown strip leading to a rather large tree. When I arrived I was still 16m away at the waters edge, so bad luck, I was on the wrong side of the creek. Too hard to cross here, so backtracked a little to a spot where I could easily get over.
Arrived at GZ but could not spot anything. The tree in front of me invited me up, and when I had ascended, the cache was sitting in a little pouch ready. Log sheet is full, unfortunately no supplies with me today. Signed as AWT? Bottom space of page 1.
Thanks very much for the cache and the series Willis007. Cheers

On holidays with alphag_25 from Mackay. In Brisbane for a couple of days and trying to grab some of the higher DT rating caches to fill some gaps. Thanks to the CO’s for placing the caches.
A drum beat puzzle that I had solved back in March 2021, and had been gathering the virtual dust on my map for far too long. A nice and simple puzzle that was done in front of the television too!
Today and needing my vehicle serviced, I planned to make a couple of geocache stops in Stafford Heights, which was on my way to Kedron.
Once the work was completed, I detoured back home via Wavell Heights and a strategic bakery lunch stop.
I stopped on a nearby street, and I had wondered what the best approach was to this geocache. I thought it would be smart to stay on the same side of the river, but then I was hit with private property / access signs. After reading a few more logs, I interpreted that I should probably go from the proper access side, and after walking through some high weeds and getting my good shoes wet, I was able to proceed along the creek and find a simple crossing (from the south/west). I did wonder why others can’t mention their directions, as there appears to be a multiplicity of options! After arriving at GZ, I proceeded upwards, and no issues with making this find, although there was a slug cache guardian that greeted me. The cache container was in good shape, but the logbook was pretty full. I ended up adding my stamp in Position 32-33 of the logbook. Thanks Willis007 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. I did manage to take a better route back to the car (perhaps one I was originally planning), although it may be questionable in terms of its access.

Out caching with Duppers on our regular Tuesday afternoon session.
After taking the hard way in, of course, we see the easy way out.

There was an easy way to get to GZ, and there was a hard way. We, of course, chose the hard way! Getting together for our regular Tuesday Afternoon Caching Sesh, Shazzar66 and I parked nearby and made our way close to GZ, only to realise that there was an obstacle in our way. Around we went, looking for a way to get through. Finally we got there and I did the monkey and found the cache in place. Not much more room on the log sheet, but got our names in the second last spot. TFTC Willis007
I don’t mind these sort of puzzles, so was an easy solve. Found the easy way to gz and made a quick find up the obvious tree. Lots of ants and logbook is almost full. Tftc
The puzzle reminded me a little re the music show, spicks and specks. Some of the names supplied could have been either a musician or serial killer. I'm sure if photos were provided instead of the names, this puzzle could have been used on the music show. Finished with drumming today but will be back at another time to collect a few more, which could be described as a slow drum roll. TFTC Willis007.
I love these types of puzzles and i love a tree climb also. I put on my climbing shoes and headed out to find this cache. I ended up taking the longer way to GZ across a creek , i rock hopped and followed what i thought was a geo trail to GZ then i read the hint saying up and so up i went and climbed looking up and looked and looked . Then i looked down and there it was all along. Love it. Then of course i found an easier way back out. Thanks for all the fun. Giving it a FP for all the fun
Parked on the closer side and saw a no trespassing sign from the council. Well, I guess we walk in the other direction! Cache is a bit ant infested, but otherwise fine. TFTC!
Nice to get this one out of the way today with the grandson coming along to do a bit of tree climbing. All safe and dry. TFTC
I was out targeting tree climbs today as I had a keen youngster with me. This was our first stop for the day. I couldn’t spot this one for love nor money but I suspected which tree it would be in so Mr. Junior DisSister decided to head up for a look. Seconds later, he had the cache in hand. The log was surprisingly bone dry even though the cache was covered in dirt in its hiding spot. The log is almost full now. I’ve used this track before and noted that it has almost disappeared since the floods. TFTC Willis007
Second time today off terra forms and the second time I had success
Enjoying the finds

I attempted to do this one yesterday but there was a muggle sitting along the path I needed to go on about 30m from the cache.
Hoping he had not spent the night here I returned early this morning to try my luck again. The area was devoid of all human life, perfect! I made my way in, found the tree and located the cache.
Signed log and replaced, getting closer to the end now! Tftc Willis007

29/12/21 Find #5230
Well, I could beat around the bush no longer. The month was running out and I still hadn’t grabbed caches for the current souvenir run. So I decided today I should drum up some finds locally. Which I may end up regretting one day when I need all those close-to-home emergency caches. However I’d cross that bridge when I get to it.
As I scrambled the small distance up, I discovered quite the little ecosystem of bugs here. Logbook rather full, but found a spot to make my mark.
Thanks for the cache Willis007.

Out for some drumming madness today with reezielou. She was the one to solve this beaut puzzle.
A quick walk up and we followed the trail into GZ. Lots of rubbish washed through here with the recent rain. Trying to spot the cache from the ground with no luck so reezielou jumped up to have a better look and spotted it straight away. Onwards to the next one, not many to go now!
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache Willis007!

Not many more to go and Krcamber would have the drum series completed. There was alot rubbish in the water close by and I really hoped I wouldn't fall off the step up I had taken, i did however somehow manage to drop the log luckily on the dry side.
As we walked down the path to the GZ, we noted this was on the otherside. Fortunately there was little to no water along the creek and we ventured on the the otherside and followed a trail into the undergrowth. Gunnie was gearing up for a big climb when we could not spot it at first and no sooner did he start, he spotted the cache. TFTC
Back to back tree climbs for me as NurseyJulie and I swing around town picking up some of the solved puzzls in this series. Luckily, the knees were playing nicely (until later) so no time was wasted in hauling myself up and snaring the container.
Finding the path in could have been interesting, but we made a dry water crossing at the right time and spotted a very handy option that would lead us nicely to GZ. From there, the rest was easy. [^]
Cheers Willis007.

Another fun puzzle in the Drum Beat Geo-art.
After some well earned sustenance at a nearby watering hole, we headed to this one for a little tree climbing. Jodsta83 went up this one and made a quick find, while Stephyy and I supervised.

Out and about for our 3rd day drumming around the Northside with swearah and stephyy. Yay our first tree climb of the day, I decided to hop up to have a better look and soon spotted the cache. Tftc and great array of puzzles Willis007
Today I was about to be out and about sans child so I decided to knock of a few more drum beat puzzles better done without a toddler to help. After the last tree climb I was slightly hesitant but this one was very easy and I did not get stick . TFTC
I followed one deceptively misleading worn track into the undergrowth only to decide the climb of a likely tree was beyond me. After exiting I decided to check out the local shopping trolley graveyard & found a much easier entry point. This avenue was way more fruitful and after assessing the likelihood of a fall I gathered some courage & made an attempt. The prize was not too high & I had the cache in hand along with a multitude of ants. Shaking out the log slipped past my grasp & hit the ground. Oh no that means another climb. Log retrieved, signed & cache returned to its spot after my second accent TFTC
In the local area for the second time to find some more Drum geoart with geo friends, hatzofff, RoddyC, patrol14, grannysmith1947 and Imbunda. This was a beautiful day full of fun, tree climbing, fishing and just plain old walking.
Thanks CO for the great puzzles, beaut containers and good hides.

I had a late start today as I had to have my leg dressed, caching injury 3 or 4 weeks ago and I also had a hair cut booked but then I was able to join with RoddyC, Hatsoff, Patrol14, Snickersallen and GrannySmith1947 to do a bit of Drumming and a few other caches. Its always good to have company.

Now that we have more freedom, it's time to get out and about. Target: More of the Drum Beat Series which we started a couple of weeks ago. I figure we shall need another day to finish them off. Our team met up at the Stafford City Shopping Center and we started from there. All up we had just the one DNF at #6.
Searched the puzzle - searched the cache. Oh, up there.

After dropping my daughter off at work I decided to go for a walk to get my daily steps. Parked at Chermside West Park and headed off with fishing pole and pen in hand.
Love a word search and I love some tree climbs - the ones that little nikid1 can climb with ease and not ridiculously high that I s##t myself. This ticked all the boxes. Wish I bought a bag along as could have done a nice CITO where I crossed the creek.

Walking a path to the beat of my own drum, I soon found myself in a very likely spot looking at a very unlikely tree. Then I spotted a better candidate and shortly after located the cache.
While trying to balance and sign the ant ridden log, the container decided to take a small trip. More climbing than necessary, but all is safely back in place and I have one more smiley.

Out today with Selva Girls to pick up the last of the Drum Beat. Plenty of walking, a bit of tree climbing and some tree fishing. There were some good hides along the way and some rather sneaky ones.

Looked at the wrong tree at first but a recent log put me right. It was covered in ants. Thanks for the cache
Certainly seems off the beaten track over here...
My phone took me right to a particular tree but there was no sign of a cache and it seemed a pretty challenging climb, though not the worst I’ve seen.
On the off chance it was another tree, I went over to #2 and stepped up. Not long after that, I suddenly spotted the cache practically in my hand. Wow. I was happy to see it and pleased I didn’t swing up into that first one.
TFTC where the log is a little damp but I added silicate which should help.

A glorious day out on Bike, rolling along to my own rhythm and beat. 4 hours by bike covering 35kms, and a further 4 hours by Suzee car and feet. A glorious day indeed. Spent a few weeks not long after they were released working my way through these puzzles, and today managed to pick up a lot of them. Quick find here - lovely walk in.
Thanks Willis007 for entertaining me at this location.

After the last couple of days of rain, we were worried it might have been a slopfest getting to GZ. We also had the skip across the drain to contend with.
A few years ago Mrs Woodyrothwell broke her ankle. Ever since, she has been a bit cautious jumping anywhere so you can imagine her sky diving holiday was cancelled. Her jump was in slow motion. I saw her running from a mile away like she was an Olympic pole vaulter where the pole had ended up some place it should not have been.
She leapt.
She made it
She was highly embarrassed she didn’t step over it.
That titanium in her ankle must be strong because I felt the mini-earthquake. tftc

We have now set up camp at the Caboolture showgrounds. We have been joined for a couple of days by pprass.
Today was the 2nd day to finish off the drum series, the puzzles had been completed prior to leaving. home. So much information learnt about drummers & drumming.
This series today we spent about half & half of the time bike riding & by car. The bike riding was by far the most enjoyable.

A team effort to solve all the caches in this series in preparation for burgo78 visiting the big smoke.
Loaded the bikes this morning and set out to log the series by car and bike.
Met some friendly muggles, saw wallabies and a turtle, rode bikes in the mud, and through fast-flowing creeks.
Easy tree climbs and some hard-to-find ones.
Wet feet and shoes all day due to plenty of water in many parks.
The Kedron brook was flowing quickly, would have been an adrenaline-packed paddle today.
Thank you Willis007 for this series and my apologies for the copy-paste logs

Well it was bound to happen... whilst I’m standing contemplating a tree I spy a group coming thru the grass... Domsky and E:)... what a delight... you meet the nicest people while out looking for Tupperware in the bush/grass...
I went up the wrong tree... of course... while Mrs Domsky called “found it” from another...
Luckily Mr Domsky was there to assist my dismount from my perch otherwise I fear I’d still be up there...
I’m giving this cache a fave just for the experience... and I don’t climb trees...

Such a pity that what could be quite a beautiful little area has been so thoroughly ruined by human garbage . Lots of spiderwebs made it stressful for me to get here, but the butterflies were beautiful to look at. Climbing up to the cache was done by IolantheK and we were careful on replacing it not to drop it!

Out for a bike ride early this morning with ruzzelz, Slow Puncture, La Kedi and DisSister. We met at Downfall Creek at 7am and spent just over 4 hours riding 17kms, and I gathered 14 smileys
I reckon I've done 1000s of these in my lifetime
A few back streets then a lovely downhill rush brought us around to this one. ruzzelz minded the bikes while we girls did the wobbly walk to GZ, where I got to do the fetching. Not too tricky in bike shoes TFTC, Willis007.

Monday. A group meet up at the Downfall Creek Bushland Centre of LaKedi, Ruzzelz, IolantheK, DisSister and Mrs Slow Puncture at 7am - turned out we rode for 5 hours today gathering some of the Drum caches that we targeted. This was the next cache on our targeted list and as Ruzzelz already had found it, we went in for the grab. IolantheK made the short climb to grab this one. What a shame the local creek is so full of rubbish! I wish I could have organised a CITO here. It’s a beautiful area.
This was the 15th of 21 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***Willis007*** for showing us this place

Came at this through head high grass and unending cobblers pegs, only to find myself 15m short of GZ, in other side if that creek. Oh well, there must be another way in.
Noticed the raft of logs in the creek acting like a filter, trapping heaps of rubbish and a dozen or more doggy balls. Could do with a good cleanup but I doubt anyone has the desire to get in the dirty water to do it.
Once around the other side I had no problems locating the container after a big step up.
On the way back I did some CITO of a bunch of beer bottles that the kids will ️ to get some spending . Who says caching doesn't pay!

Thanks Willis007 for giving us a reason to visit.

I’ve noticed a lot of loud noise beating in a rhythmic manner in the neighbourhood lately. In fact, some of the drums are in very close proximity to my house, there is even a drum kit just past the end of my street which to date I have not been able to shift.
I digress, fun Friday meant a bike ride to collect the solved drum beats along with Mrs Slow Puncture. I have a nice little loop planned which enables the collection of a few caches and I meet up with Mrs SP along the way.
After returning Mrs SP back to her car now was the time to venture across some little hills and connect a few dots / caches for the ride home.
This connected another little bike path adventure.
WARNING - Broken Glass nearby. I was on the bike so could not CITO. Maybe the next seeker could consider bringing something to rake up the glass and dispose of it appropriately

So many solved puzzles calling to us, even in our sleep, that here we are again for Day 3 collecting Drum Beats & smilies.
We haven't had a really good geoart in a while and this one is certainly getting us back in the game!
Kudos to Willis007 for the effort put in.
#20 of 25 caches found today.
We both always do well with word searches and this was no exception.
The results were quickly gathered & the cache added to our rapidly growing 'to find' list.
It was really cool & quiet at GZ but **be careful of the broken glass laying hidden amongst the grass.**
We noticed evidence of someone's earlier presence here, quite a clever technique that I've seen & used before to get a leg up.
But I digress ... the cache ...
After several minutes of peering around and seeing nothing it was Mrs VC's caching skills that came to the fore & claimed the find.
She reckons it was the easiest T3.5 she has done.
Hahahah, not what she thought a few minutes ago!
Made our mark and replaced as found.

Met for a bicycle ride with Team Tyrrell this morning and collected a good amount of the new Drum series. I had good fun solving the puzzle beforehand and once we arrived at GZ, we found most caches quite quickly.
Thanks for the series in the northern suburbs!

Georode
Out and about on the Geobikes today with Georode picking up a few of the drum series. All up we cycled almost 40 km's darting around the suburbs collecting smilies.
I've enjoyed solving the puzzles so far, however there are still quite a few for me to get my head around and get the green tick of approval. Lots more headaches to come for me.
Thanks Willis007 for the placement and upkeep of this series. ( I'm sure i'll be picking your brain and looking for hints in the coming weeks.

WOW, I was just about to jump in a boat and the phone goes ballistic, new caches being published and it just didn’t stop. Oh the pain! I’m heading in the wrong direction for the next 6 hours. I got home and started solving puzzles and to my surprise there were still a lot to be collected and only a few of the FTF’s gone. I concentrated on a few and went with the notion that I may just get a couple from the series. I spent the night solving puzzles and made a list ready for my assault on tomorrow’s caches.
What a great little series of the caches, I found there was good variety of hides and types of containers, all required a little look around before I could make the find. Thank you for this urban geoart series, I had a good time racing and chasing caches today.
I arrived at GZ and was not sure if i was opening a cache that was previously found, to my surprise a blank log. with log signed and cache replaced as found i was off to my next target cache.
