I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. My employer required me to attend a course on this side of the strait. So, even before I had planned flights or accommodation, I sussed out a heap of caches that I would pass near, or could get out to, after hours, in darkness.

After day three, and some dinner, I rugged up with several layers, grabbed several lighting options and, took a walk round the streets and the HRT.

I wasn't until I didn't find it that I realised it wasn't here also

Got it this time. Last attempt, I arrived at GZ just a large group of teenagers turned up with a ball. Clearly they were not going to move on in a hurry so I left it for another day. No such issues today. TFTC

1457. 9:06 am. Nice and quiet at GZ this morning. TFT(park)C.

Tomorrow after work I will start my journey north to attend the Auckland MEGA, which will be my 5,000th cache if I can engineer my caching before Saturday to make it so. Knowing that the weather forecast for tomorrow is less than favourable, I really wanted to find some caches tonight to release some of the pressure, so the Seagnoid and I headed out to Whitemans Valley to see what we could find.

We stopped at this cache on the way to Blue Mountain Road, more for me than him, in the hope of a quick park n grab for my numbers. That's exactly what I got, as the cache was spotted almost immediately and retrieval was a doddle with few muggles around.

Nicely done, and thanks for placing this cache.

Cache # 5,047 - this might be the third cache I have found in this park in the last decade. Lovely and easy to find, and then the smaller cachers enjoyed the nearby playground equipment. All good here, and happy to be the first to sign in 2022. TFTC!

Have been visiting family in Pinehaven and passed this little park on the way back to Kapiti. I think there have been a few caches in this park over the years. When my grandson was small I used to bring him here to play but I think the playground equipment has improved since then. Lots of lovely autumn leaves around today, nice to walk through. Quick easy find, all in good order. Thanks for the cache littledancer11 and team.

I keep meaning to come and find this after work one day but there's always a traffic jam on Eastern Hutt Road at that time of day so it got deferred for a long time. Today the traffic didn't look too bad on Google Maps but it lied and it was about the worst I'd ever seen it! So when I finally got to Silverstream I found didn't have my torch. And it's pretty dark over on that side of the park. I should have spent a few minutes figuring out how to get my phone to behave like a torch (I figured it out later but not before finding this). So I skulked around in the darkness a bit with the occasional flash of car lights as guidance. I used to hint which I would likely have not needed in daylight and found the cache after a minute of groping. Ok, so how am I going to sign it? Didn't think that though at all! Duh, there's a streetlight just over there - and my car wasn't much further actually. It wasn't until I got to the streetlight that I actually verified I had the cache - it could have been anything up until that point. A container and log were within and so with signing duties done, I managed to remember where I'd got it and return it as found. I made that more of a challenged than it needed to be but it was worth sitting in traffic for 20 minutes after all. TFTC.

Planned after work activities were going to prevent me from caching when I normally do. Prospects for a lunch time find were dim so I thought it best to go for a very rare before work find to keep my daily find streak alive. I didn't have too many options so I decided to try for this cache; one I had been hoping to keep in reserve as an emergency option.

The cache wasn't where I guessed it would be and it certainly wasn't hidden how I expected it to be. However, I was pleased to be able to track it down quickly. TFTC, littledancer11.

Dinner had been consumed and my boss was mulling over options for things to do. I invited him caching and we did the Silverstream Ad Lab as well as this traditional. Managed to stealth the container out and sign oblivious to many nearby muggles.

Just the 2 'real' caches in the area and a couple of Adventure Labs to help with the finds too.
I have a trip for an overnight in Wellington later today and also have a calendar target day too. Not sure what scope I'll have later so a quick cache Auckland way in case the options are limited down at Upper Hutt.

We found it. Cute item but couldn’t replace. Hope the next person brings something cool.

#9170. I had been in Hutt Valley today doing some maintenance on some of my caches. I still needed to find a cache for today so headed over to Silverstream. I recall doing one of trails trails trails caches in this park in the past. Good to have new one to find. A few people around but was fairly quiet. I wandered over to GZ and quickly spotted the cache. Signed the logbook and replaced everything as found. Thanks littledancer11, Mr TRX and Waveindigo for choosing to hide your cache here. Good to get the Mt Everest natural wonder. My last in that series.

8 February 2021 09:29. After a long days driving yesterday, I needed to find some easy caches, whilst getting some gentle exercise. This fitted the bill perfecly! Tftc.

Was in Upper Hutt this afternoon and had a little bit of time to kill before heading off to the roller skating rink so drove back down to Silverstream to have a butcher's at this. Pretty quiet here today. Got to GZ and found the cache quickly. The container has seen better days - looks like someone tried to open it with a large boulder. Logsheet still safe and sound so signed and replaced as found. All good here, and TFTC

We are on our summer holiday, we usually take a few weeks and travel around the South Island, but this year we are heading around the North Island. Heading up the West coast and back down the East coast. Finding only a select few caches along the way, we are mostly targeting some challenges we have qualified for, some large size caches, some that fill gaps in our date placed grid, a few D/T combinations, some with lots of favourite points, letterboxes and anything else that grabs our fancy.

I had a fall on day two of our holiday, while out geocaching which has resulted in a fractured bone in my leg and I am in a moon boot and with crutches and I was told to keep weight off my leg. So I am only limited use when it comes to our trip now. I tend to stay in the campervan and just hand out suggestions of when and where GK should search.

We were surprised by how many signatures were on a fairly new cache, obviously a lot of active cachers in this area, or lots just passing through like we are.

Took a couple of items, left a couple others in their place

Also added a little plastic bag to help keep the logbook itself extra safe and dry

Was in Silverstream for work and after finishing seeing a client across the road I decided that since I was in the area I might as well go and check out this cache.

I decided to park near GZ, and was able to get a safe parking spot not too far from GZ, as it was school holidays, it kind off made it easier and harder as there were muggles in the play area. I thought that I might not be able to get near GZ, but decided to give it a try, so making my way across the reserve I kepted an eye out for muggles and checked the hint as I made my way towards GZ.

Arriving near GZ, I had a quick look to ensure all was clear and once I realised that it was so, I approached GZ, and soon spotted something and soon realised that it was the cache.

Managed to retrieve the cache without any issues, opened, signed and then replaced back as found. Many thanks littledancer11, MrTRX, Waveindigo for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (16010) what a clever little hide, well done, hopes that it doesnt get muggled.

Now it is time to go back to the car and see my next customer......

Ms_KR and I are on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland for our family Christmas. Today are heading back over the ditch. Blenheim here we come! Please excuse the generic logs, there have been a few finds and they get muddled up sometimes.

However placing this cache appears to have triggered an earthshaking start to the new year

#12,149. Second to find and first day find. Park, walk and grab in Silverstream, Upper Hutt. Fortunately, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside.

A bit of confusion on my part as to whether this was a FTF or not, as there were a couple of crossed out dates, and what i took at the time to be a cacher handle/name already scribbled in the log. Taking another look at the photo i took it actually appears to be a "hidden by" note in the FTF position. Not too fussed.

When i saw the notification come through i already had a 2 hour walk planned along the river trail, so it wasn't much of a deviation off the planned route to get to the park. No-one about, and cache was a quick find.

Thanks for another local hide. Been quite a while for a cache find for me.
