I love squeezing every last second out of public holidays which usually combine with RDO's at work. So, with a 4 day long weekend in the offing, a few weeks ago I reviewed my adventure wish list and decided that a solo hike of Carnarvon Gorge and specifically Battleship Spur would fit the bill.Viko Cz subsequently messaged me to say he was back in Australia for business for a few weeks and had some weekends free for a geocaching adventure, and was also keen to visit Carnarvon. On Anzac Day, we travelled from Roma to Carnarvon and hiked out to Big Bend, visiting as many of the side attractions as we had time for including Boolimba Bluff. On Friday, we climbed Battleship Spur in the morning and then spent a lazy day enjoying the gorge at Big Bend. Yesterday, we got an early start and hiked back down the gorge stopping at the Moss Garden along the way. After visiting Mickey's creek Gorge, we finally hit the road, stopping at the Rolleston pub for lunch, before collecting some caches around Moura and Theodore, before an interesting Saturday night at the Cracow pub.We are heading back to Brisbane today, stopping to collect interesting caches along the way. This one had a few favourites and we are driving right past it, so we pulled in for a quick park and grab. TFTC Bug.Pete#7,891
#5744 [11:39] our extended weekend with crookedpete is ending, the main mission "exploring carnarvon gorge" is over and now we're heading back to brisbane via a bit of side road to enjoy more of local country side and more caches and this was one of them. thanks a lot of placing it here, it's always good to have some reason to stretch legs during long drive.
a grab under his trousers and the box was my one.tftcurmasuri from bremerhaven/germany
I was pretty excited when I heard that an event was going to be held in Cherbourg. The only cache in the LGA and only 5km from my home town. A trip home to see family was on the cards. Until.....my plans changed and I had someone driving a whole 12 hrs from Sydney to see me. But little TT took one for the team and suffered through a whole day of road tipping and caching with Chamad. She tells me she didn't suffer and that she actually enjoyed herself. I think the deal might have been sweetened when they were joined by Willos007 and her pup. I am sad that I didn't get to share the area with my buddies but glad that the area was shared with my little girl anyway. All the way up to Gayndah even.
Road trip! Attending an event out this way this morning, geopup and I caught up with chamad and a turmoil in Gympie and joined forces to collect some caches.A quick find here, log signed, cache replaced as found. Thanks dahumbug for the cache.
A Saturday morning drive to a special event in a rare LGA, awesome cant miss this one. I had triple turmoil (naya) with me and we meet up with Willis007 in Gympie, before heading to this event. A good size turnout and only time enough to catch up with a few of the teams there. It was then off to hopefully grab a few caches northwards as time was pressing on us today. We had no real plans just to get a couple in Gayndah and a few as we passed by.As always it was a day filled with laughs and jokes. We signed the log on this one and replaced all as found. Thanks for placing this one here.Another of our target caches today. This was a fun find and it was the little turmoil who did the honours here, seems she had inside information, lol. All good with this one and we were then on our way to the next in the area.
Ive heard other cachers talk about this trad and was happy to search and assist GG1 in finding & signing it.Nice easy find.
Another week-end up north a bit a time to find a few caches on the way home to stretch the legs from a long drive. A slightly different drive home because I found a few interesting caches out this way. I aim to find four caches in town. Excuse me sir, may I do a body search please. Thanks for the cache.
Found the poor old fella waiting for me to sign the cache. Thanks for the cache.
We're on our way back home to Brisbane, but there's always time to stop off for a cache. We stopped off at Gayndah to see the big orange, have a coffee/tea, realise we passed a cache on the other side of the river, drove back through town, quickly found the cache and were soon back upon our way.---Over a week ago we made a trip up to Yeppoon to visit family and some of the big things dotted around the state. On the way we stopped off at Noosa Heads (big pelican) and Maryborough before staying in Hervey Bay (big whales) for a couple of days to break up the journey. Whilst in Hervey Bay we went out on a glass bottomed boat and explored Big Woody Island and Round Island. Onwards again and we visited Childers, Gin Gin and got stuck in a crazy tailback a few kilometers from Miriam Vale (big crab, big donut and big Magpie). It would have been rude not to pick up a cache or two on our journey North. We visited Great Keppel and did some snorkeling (and Jack spotted a large sting ray), Emu Park to view the Singing Ship, Rockhampton (big bulls) to visit the zoo (which I wasn't too keen on) and just about every restaurant and coffee shop in Yeppoon. It's a lovely part of the world. On the way back home (boo) we visited the caves at Cania Gorge and stayed overnight at the retreat and then on to the Three Moons Silo Mural, Gayndah (big orange) and then onto the Bruce and straight back home.Thanks!!#3552
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location. (HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do. [:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort. Devilish Brilliant and Clever I like it Another one off the list TTBLNSL TFTC/TFTH/TFBUH - Dahumbug [^]
Finally got this one, it keeps getting muggled, thanks to the person before me who has put a new log. First and last time I’ll have my hand up a chinamans pants. TFTC
I had phoned the CO to have a chat on the day's goings, as well as other stuff, and it was by coincidence that I stopped here and searched The Chinaman. No cache that I could find, and the two previous DNFs suggested that it was missing too. With feedback from the CO to where it should have been, there was no sign of the cache, so with permission, I replaced the cache. Thanks bear_yowie and mountainman82 aka [dahumbug](https://coord.info/PR8W6P9) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. Favourite Point for highlighting this Gayndah sculpture!----------This 1.5 week trip, the purpose was the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster (QOGM) in Longreach, with its aim to encourage tourism and support in rural towns. Departing from Brisbane on Friday 15/09/2023, I travelled solo taking the northern route through Gayndah, Emerald and Jericho on my way to the event, and then returned through Blackall, Morven, St George, Goondiwindi, and Toowoomba arriving back on Monday 25/09/2023.My Longreach highlights included the two QOGM muster/rally days visiting Muttaburra and Isisford; the Qantas Founders Museum; Stockmans Hall of Fame; Silver Tails Rail Sunset Tour; and the general historical town vibe. Other highlights to/from Longreach included climbing Mt Scoria; Barcaldine's Tree of Knowledge and kayaking in the water park; Blackall woolshed scour; and the smaller intriguing and historical towns that I passed through.During my travel days when I was time-poor, I targeted geocaches that were older in age, high D-T, puzzles/challenges, and rare cache types. In addition, I added 7-8 visited LGAs to my statistics. The scenery was memorable with picturesque sunsets, and a diversity of flora and fauna. There were plenty of kangaroos and wallabies, emus, goannas/lizards, brolgas, hawks, and alas wild hogs, and goats. This afternoon, I departed Brisbane to reach Gayndah for the night. I was able to make a few stops whilst passing through / visiting Gympie and Kilkivan, and it was quite late once I arrived in the cute and charming town of Gayndah.
We spent a considerable time on this one, but the cache was the winner on the day. Thanks for placing the cache anyway at this wonderful little sculpture. We will be back to try again some day.
After a fairly thorough search, I have to admit defeat.
Too good for me today.
But it is an awesome sculpture!!!

Day 10 and the final day of the CQ reflection Tour for ruzzelz. Now travelling solo and after a day riding the BBIRT tunnels section yesterday I am now heading south from Monto. I've never seen the country so lush and green for the entire distance.
Last week i was here and the cache appeared to be missing. Driving back through the area today and this time i have a suitable container and log paper. Replaced cache.

Definately NOT where the hint says. We had a good search around the ground but nothing. Bugger!
On an annual trip home to my parent’s farm with my daughter Pinkypie05. Damn! No luck again for us . Will try again in 12 months time when we are back again!!!!
Hate to log this one as a DNF. But even with the hint I still couldn’t find it, I’ve looked around on the ground and cause see that it’s fallen either. Only think I was successful in finding was a wasp nest. Hope it is still there, cause next time I come past I’ll look again.
Having a day caching with a couple of cachers along the Burnett River between Gayndah and Mundubbera. Having already picked up smallwombat.

First time I have stuck my hands in a Chinaman's pants. Cache found in good condition.
We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.
Day 11 after an overnight stay in Biloela is was time to head to Nanango to visit family collecting caches along our journey to break up the drive.
All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise mentioned. Lots of interesting things seen along the way and some wildlife thrown in for good measure.
Nice artwork here.
Thanks to all the CO’s for the placements and keeping this hobby alive.

We predicted on our last visit to Gayndah this spot would get a cache some day. Did expect the generous size that's here though. Gave The Chinaman a frisk and ta-da... cache found. TFTC dahumbug.
It’s about time I began to head home after the Townsville mega, so I’ve ended up here. I felt a little rude getting this one! Thanks for the puzzles, the caches, the different to the usual finds dahumbug.

After having a great time at the Townsville MEGA, Tour de Ville (TMZ59, Imbunda, Peppa and I) are on our homeward journey taking the inland route through Emerald and Gayndah.
Overnight stop in Gayndah and we are finding a few caches before Imbunda's birthday breakfast in town. I love how they use old bits of farming equipment/metal to make these sculptures.
Made a quick find, SL then returned as found.

We headed out to Gayndah to clear out the town before the rodeo started, the Mumma Bear and the Cubs Gang met Liz and Bruce, Seasoned Bird and Wollaston for morning tea nearby we decided all head over to find this cache. So, we set out to find this cache to turn it into a yellow smiley face, this was the third of many for the day and a couple of milestones that we didn’t expect to reach today.
Before leaving the new geocar (Track my adventures here D78QWZ) we read the description, confirmed we had all the required information, confirmed the very rare difficulty and terrain and pervious finder logs. We all arrived close to ground zero and all got out of our cars to make the small walk over to ground zero. Bruce from Liz and Bruce informed us that they along with Wollaston and Seasonedbird replaced this cache before we met.
Once arriving at ground zero we waited for Davinelles who were just parking up. We explained to them that Liz and Bruce and the gang had replaced it. We decided that M B & C would search the front and the Davinelles would search the rear of ground zero, within a few shorts minutes and after small search we, we had the cache in hand, and we added our little ink mark to the logbook.
While JLK and MummaBear66 headed back to the geocar to start writing this log.

On our way to my parent’s farm, my daughter Pinkypie05 and myself decided to do this cache. We looked everywhere but no luck for us
Shame, someone chose to replace the cache container in a different position. A not very nice position between his legs!!!

Road Trip time!! NyssaFlutterby, wombles and co and I were heading off for a weekend of fun and frivolities. First stop along our journey was Kilkivan. Then it was on to Ban Ban Springs before making our way to Gayndah.
I recall heading past this guy not that long ago and wishing I’d grabbed a picture of him. Thankfully today I got the opportunity, with this cache here.
And after getting a little personal with the Chinaman we soon had cache in hand.

Looking for something to fill in time whilst not studying, it was suggested that I finally get around to logging THOSE caches long found but never logged. Some even have funny stories of being visited not only once or twice, but a few even have had a third or fourth visit before realising I've been there and done that. The date is as near to the correct day the cache was found. So, sorry for the generic and late log.JABs.The full story can be found here https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=c74de4cf-b59f-4ee4-9b5a-63ff0fc061ea
After camping overnight in Kilkivan I headed north today and stopped to grab some caches allong the way. No problems finding the caches and once the logs were signed all were returned as found.
If a cache needed attention that was done too.
Thanks to the CO's for placing these cache for me and others to find.
I parked nearby and wandered over and could see the cache out in the open as I approached. Log signed and then returned out of sight for the next finder.

Today we headed off from home and it wasn't too long, before we were in the Geo Mode with the caravan on. With all the geocaches downloaded to the GPRs it was just a matter of assessing each one as we approached and if they were suitable for a caravan. Only had to miss a couple so a good days cache.
Unfortunately halfway through the day HQ decided to delete our premium membership, following a request we made for a friend upgrade double payment and asking for cancellation of the 2nd membership or transfer to ours that is due for renewal in Aug21.
When you use your phone just to track where you have been and the premium membership is gone, the phone with the offline lists have also gone. For once the GPRs has come to the aid with all the data. I just hope I can upload the premium finds that we have done. Time will tell.
