Today I had the whole park to myself which made for an easy waypoint 1, then off to GZ where the cache was easily found and is all good.Courtneyrose_ and I headed to Goolwa for a night away to complete the local parkrun, along the way to and from we stopped to find a few caches. Thanks for the cache

House/dog sitting near Goolwa. Daughter & children have come over from Melbourne. Took the grandkids to the nearby animal farm then onto a playground near Port Elliott which gave daughter a few hours peace whilst ‘she worked from home’. Pulled out the phone & happy to see a multi at the playground. Did the sums then a short walk to the cache. Mmmm lots of aromatic bushes. Read thru previous logs & did the pole dance & came up with the prize. Tftm

Found on a trip down the Fleurieu with FeatherWaite to find some caches of interest. We focussed on mostly unknown, multi, letterbox and earthcaches between Victor Harbour and Hindmarsh Island. Interesting weather, with plenty of strong winds and squally rain, which certainly made the pole caches challenging. Nice and cool though. Thanks mogni for the cache.

The weekly wander of the Befuddled with a rare occassion of a Mule joining us. The target was more hides in and around Victor Harbour and anything else we needed on the way. Our last attempt at Victor was thwarted by the news of the state going into a 5 day lockdown which meant we had to return home to stock up on supplies. Thank you for the placement of the Starfish Park Multi cache mogni find number 8635 on 10 November 2021 at 12:38 pm

Time for a Wednesday Wander, the weather was delightful.

A quartet of Geo animals went a caching.

The quartet consisted of a Rat. a Starfish, an Adder and a Mule.

We met at Willunga, the days plan to cache our way to and around Victor Harbor.

Gathered our info, did the math.
A quickish find at GZ.

We had a great day, lots of finds, laughter and fun. Tftc

Today I headed to VH and surrounds for a caching day.
Visitors coming to stay unexpectedly meant some frantic housework before I could leave home (they probably didn’t even notice ) so my 8.30 departure became 10.30 but there was a curry in the slow cooker and my house was the cleanest it’s been in weeks!
My goal had been to find 45 caches sadly this ended up being only 27 finds and 4 dnfs. Had a mint day out though the coast was looking beautiful and there was so much bird life to be seen.
Had a lovely cake and coffee in Goolwa and was please with my haul.
I am sure I have been here before with Rex and JJ52. Once the plaque was found (in the midst of a kids party ) calcs done and a quick find. TFTC Mogni

Found on a two day blitz of the area to get back on top of the growing number of un-founds for me. Quick solve but the find took a little longer than anticipated. Geez, there's a lot of lamb seasoning here.

Been doing a lot of wall building at home and my muscles were aching. Twisted Time for a day off to do some caching and chill. Smile So I called up Anymules and we met down at Victor Harbor to continue where we left off when our last day was cut short by an impending 5 day covid lockdown! Surprised I think I will rename Victor Harbor after today to Micro Harbor. I had brought several TBs to leave in caches down here but it took all day to find suitable sized ones. Big Grin Just saying. [:o)]

I had been to this park once before and found a cache! Smile But that was another cache and another time. Wink I like the name of the park for some reason. [:o)] We quickly gathered the information required and walked to GZ where I found the cache in the obvious hiding spot. Smile The first place I felt! Big Grin Left a geocoin.

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. Twisted So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. Cool That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]

***Thanks mogni for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

Found It!
Not the first time I've been to this park for a cache. It's an unusually popular park to, always seems to have kids in it. I came back tonight, late on a cold evening evening to find it empty. But before I had even finished reading the numbers off the plaque, a family arrived and two little kids started running around. I wandered off to GZ and thankfully found the cache rather quickly!

Headed to Encounter Bay today to collect some furniture and other wares from a friend's garage sale...with Bron (my semi-muggle friend), jafaz62 & her black Lab Chewie...
It took us awhile to reach our destination because we kept stopping Wink

We looked around for the plaque...that took awhile...then had a doh!!! moment when we spotted it...very close to where we were sitting...Razz
Calculated the numbers and went to the final location...
The cache took us a while to find as there were a few places to look and the ground cover hid it well but Bron soon had her hand on it after some digging around...Big Grin
We came out smelling like we belonged with a lamb roast...Big Grin
The cache was signed and placed back as found...
Thanks for placing the cache, mogni, at this lovely park, for us to find Smile

No one in the park when we arrived. Hot weather is good for something. Deja vu. It this the third time I have visited this park. All of the maths worked find and checksums were spot on. The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Why do I want a lamb leg roast for lunch? Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

Today was a big day down on the South Coast. A 5am alarm and an early start led to a day with mant highlights and lots of fun. And one lowlight.
This was one of two multis I did together with Freddo on our way from Goolwa to the Community Celebration event.
All the numbers were collected and we even got them and the arithmetic correct first time. Once again we walked to GZ but this time it took a few attempts before Freddo located the prize. I blame my minimal contribution on the fact that I was still trying to stem the bleeding from the previous cache. the likely hide from some distance away. Eventually pressure got it under control.

There was a Celebration Event in Victor Harbor today so I organised with allister w to go together and find a few caches on our way before the event and then get some after the event, as you do. [^]

We stopped off here to gather the info and were pleased that we could sit while we did the calculations and while we were doing that CPwanderer, clare007 and Gizmo's Gang strolled along so we all went off to GZ for a relatively quick find. I smelled really nice for quite some time after leaving this one. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache mogni. Smile

First to Find on the eighth of January 2021.
Pulled up at GZ for information and there was a small group sitting at the nearest table, (not that ewe were eavesdropping but we think they were teachers discussing how they were social distancing from people and were going to introduce some skills to their eager students soon) .
Too busy discussing to care that we were looking at the plaque, counting lines and words and scribbling things down, we reckon we could be students in their classes and get away with heaps.

Starfish or sea stars are star-shaped echinoderms belonging to the class Asteroidea. Common usage frequently finds these names being also applied to ophiuroids, which are correctly referred to as brittle stars or basket stars. Starfish are also known as Asteroids due to being in the class Asteroidea. About 1,500 species of starfish occur on the seabed in all the world's oceans, from the tropics to frigid polar waters. They are found from the intertidal zone down to abyssal depths, 6,000 m (20,000 ft) below the surface.

Starfish are marine invertebrates. They typically have a central disc and usually five arms, though some species have a larger number of arms. The aboral or upper surface may be smooth, granular or spiny, and is covered with overlapping plates. Many species are brightly coloured in various shades of red or orange, while others are blue, grey or brown. Starfish have tube feet operated by a hydraulic system and a mouth at the centre of the oral or lower surface. They are opportunistic feeders and are mostly predators on benthic invertebrates. Several species have specialized feeding behaviours including eversion of their stomachs and suspension feeding. They have complex life cycles and can reproduce both sexually and asexually. Most can regenerate damaged parts or lost arms and they can shed arms as a means of defense. The Asteroidea occupy several significant ecological roles. Starfish, such as the ochre sea star (Pisaster ochraceus) and the reef sea star (Stichaster australis), have become widely known as examples of the keystone species concept in ecology. The tropical crown-of-thorns starfish (Acanthaster planci) is a voracious predator of coral throughout the Indo-Pacific region, and the northern Pacific sea star is considered to be one of the world's 100 worst invasive species.

The fossil record for starfish is ancient, dating back to the Ordovician around 450 million years ago, but it is rather sparse, as starfish tend to disintegrate after death. Only the ossicles and spines of the animal are likely to be preserved, making remains hard to locate. With their appealing symmetrical shape, starfish have played a part in literature, legend, design and popular culture. They are sometimes collected as curios, used in design or as logos, and in some cultures, despite possible toxicity, they are eaten.

Also Coldplay apparantely was called Starfish for a while back in the 1990s.
Thanks mogni for the caches and a lovely detour through Victor Harbour on a lovely sunny summer Friday. TNLNSL
