Kolour and I organised a long weekend in Canberra to catch up with the great Domsky duo. Of course there was much caching to be done as well!We spent our last day in Canberra focused on some oldies, virtuals and challenges. Unfortunately the skies were not as clear as they had been over the weekend, however, that was not going to stop us.I absolutely loved working on this very different approach to a virtual cache. After working out what was what, we thought we'd solved this one easily ... until we found out we hadn't. So, back to the start we re-worked it and came up with an alternative. We found what we thought we were looking for and held our breaths until we received confirmation from the CO that we had found the right thing. Thanks so much Tankengine, a fav point for this great virtual.
Im visiting Canberra from Brisbane with Willis007 for a long weekend with Domsky, targeting mainly oldies and challenges. This is my first time geocaching in the ACT. Domsky was busy today so we hired a car to finish off finding our target caches, this being one of them. This one took a lot of brain power, trying to figure out what was needed, and then working out which way to go. We eventually found what we were looking for and Ive sent my answer to the CO who has confirmed that I was correct. Yay! Tftc
Answers sent to the CO and approved. Really enjoyed this. It proved challenging but a good level thereof. Eventually worked out what to do, but too many muggles around to stealthily search for the final tag. We returned today when there were no muggles (almost) around and we could search in peace. A quick find made (feels weird writing that on a virtual) after being methodical. A fave. Thanks for something unique. Lovely tag at the end too. Cheers Tankengine!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their long lasting, and ongoing connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to Traditional Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Today was my second time to this spot, however, this time I dragged my dad along and I printed out my compass. I wish I could say we made light work of this virtual but it still took a few confused and head-scratching moments to finally find that little black disk. Thank you Tankengine for this cache and the effort you put into such a unique and fun virtual!
Well i did print out the picture but at gz really couldn't get a direction. I did come up with a line of logic that i think got me the answer needed ( included wih my message to the co ). Nice location and a different twist on a virtual. fav point for something different. Found with Mogni. Myself and mogni are headed off to canberra on the " I missed the Capital GeoBash Mega " holiday, since last minute family problems came in to play and we had to adjust our plans by a few weeks. On the way over we targeted multi's, wherigo's and puzzles to make sure we had 25 in each or at least close to that total ( or more ) as possible, getting as many new New South Wales LGA's as possible, the 17th most favourite point NSW cache and every cache size in New South Wales. In the ACT it was getting 2 of the 5 oldest letterboxes, oldest wherigo in Australia, 2nd oldest earthcache ( with a side trip to get the oldest earthcache of course ), and ACT oldest cache too. I also hosted a CITO and planned on getting every different cache type i could and eevry different cache size as well. I also needed 9 more virtuals this trip to get my virtual count over 100. Finally canberra was far enough away from from house to complete the well aged well travelled cacher 0 to 1000 kms with a cache every 10 km's ( i only need 7 more caches to complete )Leaving the ACT it was going via Victoria to get there last active web cam cache and slowly getting a total of 20 finds in each LGA i passed through if i had enough time plus also hosting a CITO in Victoria as well. A busy 11 days. Trust me by the end of the holiday you would have thought the 6 meter ladder weighed more than 13 kg's to amount of times it was used or carried up hills or over creeks. If your cache was found with a broken container/lid it was replaced or if the log was full it was replaced or a extra log if the container was big enough ( except for nano's, do your own maintenance on nano's.
What a week in the CAPITAL!! Here from NE Vic for the might GeobashMEGA and the NFF so along with a visit to cultural icons and socialising it is full on. TFTC and the FUN FUN FUN!
Thanks for this cache with a difference- love discovering different types of caches. Found while in Canberra for Geobash. Answer confirmed, now logging.TFTC
On a road trip with RoamingHowie OzHockeyChick Geoturtle Papi and Posums. We had a fab time at the deep space centre as part of the Canberra mega and set out to explore the area. This was a different style of virtual and took a bit of head scratching to look at the space in the right manner. We eventually came up with an answer and set about looking for the last piece. It was quite difficult and a few locals asked what we had lost. The CO was contacted and confirmed we had the right answers and gave a clue to what to look for. Eventually we had success! Thanks for the virtual and showing us many lovely Canberra places
Day #7 Geobashing We were off to the Deep Space Tour today as well the CITO so targeted specific Canberra caches along the way with OzHockeyChick, kristysadventures, papi4506 and GeoTurtle37.We made a balls up of this initially by not matching the correct object to the map. Eventually we matched the right thing and the instructions made a bit more sense. The exact names however left some conjecture so the exact location was a bit hit and miss. Fortunately we located the answer. A unique virtual!A big thanks goes to Tankengine for taking the time to add Animal Antics to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Why not check out the geocaching lists available on the [Geocaching Victoria Website](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/). There are plenty to choose from including all of the previous nominees and winners of the Victorian Cache of the Year Awards.
I was in Canberra to attend the Capital Geobash Mega Event and of course after caches. I targeted this one because of its age and unique format. I arrived at the park did what was required and eventually found what was needed at GZ. Thank you Tankengine for placing this cache for our challenge and enjoyment. A favourite point awarded.
Animal Antics3.0/1.0 Virtual Virtual Cache Message sent.Thank you for the cache Tankengine. Adding another FP.31 March 2024 5:48pm
Day number four in Canberra and surrounds for the OzMega Geobash across the Easter weekend. Was back in towards the capital this morning to complete my tour of around Parliament House and grab a few more caches in the area. The plan for today with the WA5 (I C Nothing, meme28, geotrakka, Burns345 & myself) was to target caches with high favourite points and at higher altitudes. As expected today filled with a fantastic variety of cache types and containers that highlighted the ACT caching communitys creativity and sense of adventure. And with a bigger group each were located quickly. The evening was a little slower than the last few days with the WA5 joining another group of West Aussies for the quiz night at the event site. Thanks Tankengine for placing Animal Antics for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 14:39 on 30/3/2024.This is find number 8582 for me.
On a MEGA day today with eldest geokid as he clocks up about 9 hours in his Learners Logbook. We had a lot of fun just picking up whatever semi-random caches we felt like before attending the [Geobash](https://coord.info/GL1BRA49R) in time for the Lackey/ Reviewers workshop. We bumped into a few teams out there today including a team from Narrogin WA. A good day but were wrecked!Being in the area after doing some of the Chisholm Green fishing caches, I thought I might come back to this one after [my DNF a year or so back](https://coord.info/GL18HPB8W) for another look. As we arrived, we were greeted by a WA mob who were just leaving and I mentioned to them that we'd been here before. I asked if they'd found "it" to which they answered they thought so but were unsure; pointing to what they'd found; aha of course! When they left I had a closer look but it still wasn't quite gelling with a specific thing described on the cache page, although it was uncanny how close it is. So I decided to have another scan of the area; this time a little more *south* of where I thought my results were sending me... and I found it! Well, that's *got* to be it anyway. What a bugger for the sandgropers; I hope they get an answer back early enough and thus get to come back for another look. A tough but unique and also retro Virtual which gets a fave for all of those reasons, and for bringing me here twice. TFTC, Tankengine.(Answer sent)#1946
Part of the Sandgroper contingent that has come to the Mega to explore new hunting grounds. Its sure to be a great week with many finds and laughs with lots of great friends and maybe some new ones along the way. Thank you for placing this cache for our enjoyment. Logged as WA5
I wasn’t sure from the description what I’d find or do here. But, once at the listed coordinates it all fell into place.

For years, I've wanted to hike Mt Kosciuszko for my 40th. Well, this year was the year, and I was thankfully to have some great friends come with me for the experience. We had THE BEST weather and experience humanly possible. Just stunning.
Sadly, this was our last day, and we were all heading home. This was one of the last caches we grabbed on the way out. Thanks for maintaining this cool little cache. It's an oldie, and a really creative way of doing a virtual cache. I appreciate the vintage here - as someone who is hunting for old caches on a regular basis.

Hunt completed, picture sent. Logging now so I don't forget thanks Thomas Tankengine for such great entertainment.
Muggle65 and l have had this one on the list for our last couple of visits to Canberra. Of course our lists are always way too ambitious. Finally we got to figure out GZ today. Thank you for a fun old cache ??
After finally being in the area to claim this virtual & I found and answered the required question to claim this find. We have been past this one many times in 2022 & finally we made time to stop & complete it.
Out here on windy day with my geofamily we all search together and spot by our older geodaughter wow what a great place to enjoy the day by the lake TFTV Tankengine

I was very keen to find this old cache (and Jasmer gap cache) today, and just realised my personal note for this cache says: "I want to find - this is a virtual cache OVER 10 YEARS OLD within 1,000 Km of home, and there are only about a dozen such caches :O)". I guess this cache as been on my "to find" lists for a while now . I'm aware there are LOTS of caches in the ACT, and there may be a few reasons for this, but surely one reason is that there's so many interesting things to see. Some awesome 'totem' (?) artwork at the listed co-ords, plus right near is a pretty cool cycling course for learners, and of course it's right next to some lovely waterways, jogging path and handy painted toilets. Enjoyed trying to figure out the puzzle and it was very satisfying to spot that little disc. I like how these old caches often have little imaginative twists or are set up in funny ways, I guess rules and benchmarks weren't so firmly in existence when geocaching started.
(CO messaged) Thanks for leading me here and for the old school cache . Insta-fave point awarded.

With yesterday's event so close to the starting coordinates for this virtual I had intended to complete it then, however I was swept up in the group finding lots of newly published ladder caches around Tuggeranong.
So this morning I popped back with some buddies and, after getting ourselves and the map oriented, marched the appropriate number of metres and soon found the required item.
After a short message to the CO, he quickly confirmed we located the correct symbol.
This is a cool virtual - thanks, Tankengine! A favourite from me.

I got a couple of tips from previous finders while at the event today. Thanks Tankengine for the animal antics and happy caching
#1229 After finding the nearby Trad I wandered back up this way with my printed out compass and begun trying to work out what I needed to do. It all made sense once I was standing where I needed to be, but this still took some time. With myself already wet but determined to get it done I was running on a time limit with my compass slowly getting more and more damp. Lining it up once I knew what I needed to do still took some time. Id get one or two things lined up but the others wouldnt match, damn! This happened once or twice before I finally had everything right where it needed to be. I also now had my number and I was on my way towards GZ. My answer has been sent to the CO and approved for logging. Thanks Tankengine for such a cool and unique virtual. An old one too that has really stood the test of the time!
Day two of my spontaneous solo weekend of geocaching in Canberra. Enjoyed this unique virtual - seems the original concepts of this cache type are still the most creative IMO. At my supposed GZ I was pretty confident of where I was geographically speaking but I couldn't locate anything. Then I shifted slightly north and bam found something that would go close to being the object. But alas the CO confirmed that it is not! I'm not suprised as I had to move about 15m from where I was to locate what I did. I shall return!

A really fun cache to complete and took our minds off the drizzly cold day and our frozen toes! TFTC Tankengine
That’s one of my favourite cache. I love the concept and the location. The CO helped me out to get started and then with a clue to get the required numbers. I was so close.
Driving down from the Gold Coast to Melbourne to visit my parents. Wanted to stop in ACT to find a few target cache.
This was one of them and I am glad I stopped. A really good concept.

#1717 This cache was on my list as a needed hidden month, and it is in a spot I had been before for various caches including Multi and Wherigo waypoints. Today it took on another purpose. My first projection attempt was a failure so retraced my steps for another go. This time I intensified my resolve and came up with another potential GZ. This initially also left me scratching my head. On one final pass at GZ before potentially moving on I spotted what I hoped to be the necessary info. Sent to CO and confirmed for logging. Thanks Tankengine. A real Favourite from me as a "virtual" fav would be pointless. TFTC.
This one has been on my radar for ages & today was the day to make it a smiley! After a few hours at the Cotter & Casuarina Sands, we came here armed with what we needed & with some assistance from bushwalkinggirl (Googlasaurus was more interested in fanging about on his scooter at the adjacent track), we found the vital numbers & confirmation was quickly provided. TFTC, Tankengine. This one was fun!
Today, Barb2e and I went for a ride around the lake, mainly to do Lake Loop, but also pick up any caches either one of us had not found yet.
I had tried to do this cache before, but it was dark and drizzling. I managed to line up the compass, but must have been slightly off as I found some numbers that were incorrect.
The second time I sort of had an idea of what I was looking for and widened my search area, but was still a few degrees off. For today I received an additional hint and with that managed to hone in to the right area. I made a quick find and have my answer verified by the CO.

Finally got my trusty compass out and headed south to find this one. Had a bit of fun trying to identify the correct pictures on the poles and headed off in what seemed the logical direction. Certainly turned out to be very close and a short search around the area turned up the numbers. Great to tick off another one on a long standing list. Tftc
In the area today visiting my daughter and made a point to head out and grab a few caches during my visit. I parked nearby and headed off to GZ and ended up using the animal antics compass on the phone to orient myself as I hadn't printed it out. I had a bit of trouble doing that so then decided on working out the metres using the method described. With some rough maths done I looked at where I need to go and headed off, but arriving at the first point didn't bode well. So off to the second point and after gooing around and around spotted something of interest. A closer inspection and I found what seemed to match in the description. A further look around and I ventured off.

Came here a couple of weeks back in all the rain to suss out this virtual. While *Sydney* was amid a torrential downpour we were blessed much less rain. I was at first hesitant to make the trip down, but had booked accommodation etc. All turned out well in the nations capital. *Little Panther* and I gathered the information I needed to take home to analyse and see if I could work something out. While here I attempted to find the number required for this virtual through guess work. If I has have stuck with that I would have been about 10 metres away but I went for the most obvious landing myself SE 29 metres away. While at home I had a brainwave, a little trick I had learnt a year ago that I forgot all about until now. Some analysis conducted and I had another set of coordinates.
Camping for a few days and I thought I had this virtual licked this time after getting sly on working this out. When I went to check today on the beautiful sunny day of 7 April there was nothing to be seen. My coords were also close at N 22 metres but still not close enough. I had left by this time and later, thanks to the CO I was given confirmation that my thoughts were within zone. We returned today determined to find the information, but, it was like looking for a needle in a haystack, well, maybe not that bad, but it still required some good solid work for this smiley. I am surprised at how many times we passed by GZ, and even more surprised when I was searching the location of GZ and didn't see what I needed..I don't know how many times I retreated to the bench seat to ponder. There were three of us looking and success was not to be. I'd ruled out this, ruled out that and finally went for one last look one something that did require more attention. Search, search, search ... ... "No, is that it? Yes I think it is." A photo taken and sent to CO for confirmation.
Success !!

OCW *Little Panther* and *DustyJapserJet* on a much welcome and overdue camping trip for a few days at one of our much liked locations in *Gundaroo,* and tackling a couple of power trails and caches in *Canberra*. Totally enjoyed ourselves getting a better look at *Canberra.* Never had a need to venture the back streets but as usual, Geocaching takes us to the back streets which gives us the opportunity to see things we don't normally see. I really like *Canberra* and i've often thought I would love to live here, but now, I'm not sure I'd cope with city living, too much of a country girl.

Made a special trip first thing this morning to try this virtual. Had a crack at the compass. I assumed my direction and off we went like puddle ducks checking trees along our path which revealed nothing. Arriving at my hunch location, I found a number, and sent it off to CO. Unfortunately my hunch and number were wrong. Too wet to spend time evaluating. I will return down the track.
What an adventure caching in the rain in Canberra!!
A cache run to Canberra with focus on solved caches, ALs, ECs, Wherigos, Virtuals, and LBs. I spent quite a few hours trying to organise the route and what I needed to do at each location, but ran out of time and my list was not ready. All I could do was go with it and do my best.
The weather is bad throughout the state, especially in Sydney and northward. I had booked accommodation in Canberra but was worried over trying to cache in the rain. I wanted to postpone but had already moved our accommodation forward and to postphone for two weeks meant missing out on a rare geocaching event, and putting us into the school holidays. I'd checked the weather forecast for the ACT discovering the ACT would get 10mm less rain than home. Wow, better than I anticipated.
We had a great trip to Canberra with some spitting and believe it or not, some blue sky appearing between the grey clouds as we headed beyond Goulburn, but it was looking filthy over the ACT. We booked into our accommodation and headed off. We'd left home later than desired but were off to a good start nonetheless. It was time to head to *Melba* for a very special First Birthday and Community Celebration event.
Our FIRST event in Canberra - wow an awesome turn out. A number of faces I know and many others I don't.
After the event everything went downhill. I kept making wrong turns and missing turns. Trying to follow my printout was challenging. One really frustrating thing was being goat herded around the roads. I got stuck on the motorway, herded over the bridge, herded into a boom gate car park. At times there was nowhere to turn around safely or legally. I was getting quite frustrated. I learnt a valuable lesson though. When visiting Canberra, *thoroughly research and make lots of notes*. I added Labs into the route but I just ended up even more confused as I didn't have enough information. When trying to make the best of a specific location so as to not return numerous times.
Most Canberrans were driving 10km slower than the speed limit - What the!? I've never seen that before, everyone speeds or at least does the limit. They were going so slow behind my tail that they were getting in my way when I wanted to change lanes. I'm clearly not used to Canberra.
To me Canberra has a European look with a lot of English looking houses to German looking office blocks; and rows of identical houses to a mix match of Australian and European.
Canberra is a weird place!! For a Welshman from two hours away, trying to cache in the ACT is something else. I know Canberrans won't think so - naturally. It's delightful but frustrating. I love Canberra, I love the diversity, uniqueness, art and culture. I love the different houses in the centre of Canberra with the beautiful leafy streets.
The animals are friendly here. We saw a bunny that didn't bother about us, the same with a crow who was soaking wet. It went under our car to the exhaust to get some warmth. I felt sorry for it especially when the poor thing fell down the stairs. It was sitting near us tipping its head and looking at us, we had a nice little chat to it.
Tried out the electric scooters - fun - but frustrating trying to find somewhere to parking them outside a 'No parking area', especially along the lake.
Stopping at a shopping centre at Phillip the aromas wafting around from the cuisine was such an assault on the senses - heavenly. Our taste buds were going nuts.

Found this one a bit tricky to line up and initially I was headed in the wrong direction. After a helpful nudge from CO, I realigned my compass and headed off on a different tack where I soon spotted the goods. Forwarded details to CO and got the green light.
A bit frustrating for me initially but nice to finally get it cleared up. TFTC Tankengine. FP from me.

Thought we were in the right spot but no luck. Will try again next time we go around the lake.
Found this one on the way to an event, at which Tankengine was there, so I was able to give him the answer there.
Thank you for the cache.

Found with @mcyazzy and @bottlecapkid. This was my first virtual had lots of fun, definitely want to do more of these.
Found!! I think this is my first virtual so I'm pretty happy! Found with @mccabeyazzy @ayda05
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
Had a go but I don't think we got the compass correctly oriented. We'll be back!
We were in the area and gave this cache a shot. We missed the answer on our first try but were able to return to the GZ thanks to the CO’s fast feedback. TFTH
Number 2 son (B0tmun) had a performance at the Moon Festival this afternoon so we headed in early with fitzy_1965 and met up with GLISS! to collect the last few suburbs needed for the Canberra Suburb Challenge cache.
Quick side trip before we met up with GLISS!. Took a bit to line up the compass but didn't take long to find the required numbers.
Answer verified by CO. Thanks Tankengine! This one has been a long time coming.

Found with Joolay after finding the wrong number on our first attempt. An interesting virtual in a pretty spot. Thanks for the cache Tankengine
After Kittykatch and I failed to get the correct information the first time, its great we finally got it right and able to log this. I was saving it for a rainy day as there were so few virtuals here but now there are lots so able to collect this old one. Such a great spot too, love the art work and the scenery is pretty nice too. I can’t believe it! I actually made it to day 365 on my streak! I must admit that I wasn’t sure I would make it after crashing out on day 200 last time I attempted. Sooo with success under my belt, Gliss! K8TYBEE and I decided we needed a cache to celebrate today and thought a quirky Tankengine virtual might just do the trick. So despite the freezing cold, we found our way out here to the headland. We got it solved to within 4 meters of GZ but had convinced ourselves we were off.. till a PAF confirmed we were on the right track.
Thanks so much for the cache! Guess the celebrations will continue as we see how many other Tankengine caches we can pick up before we freeze to death lol.

Found with NRC and Gliss! on a rather fresh day, although luckily no snow today in Canberra!
Out with nibletricecakes& K8tyBee on day 365 of Nibletricecakes streak. I've been putting this on off until I could do it with others (I knew I would need help). Thanks for the PAF muppet95. TFTV takengine.
Cache 5349 on 12 Jul 2019.
Well, I had spied the answer to this cache quite a while ago now but had been saving logging it as until very recently , virtuals were few and far between in the ACT. But now we have a few more to chose from, and this particular cache has been identified as having a detective clue for the mystery at the museum, so time to “find” it. The CO noted the number was an old one, but still correct, so have permission to log.
Thanks Tankengine for the cache and the fun!

I was doing a few antics around trying to work it all out, turning and twisting. I took a little break and fund the trad nearby, then returned with a pair of fresh eyes (no I did not fish them out from the water...) Seems like I still did not get it right!
I can't say I've any familiarity with a mudmap whatsoever. So when I had a look at what needed to be done I had some doubt as to how this one would work out. My doubt proved well founded and a PAF was necessary. After I was pointed in the right direction I discovered the appropriate item and stored the number until it was ready to be called upon.
Today (being the 01.05.2019) was the day seeing as how I'd worked through my logging backlog. Number duly sent to the CO the response was pretty much instantaneous. Thanks for introducing me to the concept and of course for keeping this venerable virtual going for all these years. Unlike most, this actually requires active maintenance, so well done.

Found at 3:20 PM GAFF1 in the company of my cousin Andrea.
Another cache that we are targeting - ie caches that were published before we started caching [^]
We had a lot of trouble lining up the compass with the totems - have the animals been removed? Had to PAF in the end and they gave us the general direction.
Thanks Tankengine

After a major hiccup first time around the second attempt was successful in finding the info and have permission to log from the CO. Thanks Tankengine for keeping this virtual alive! A FP as well.
So sorry Tankengine. We did this cache when down for the Event and with waiting for your reply I forgot to log it. We are always checking around for the old caches as they are holding more and more importance as time goes by and they become fewer and fewer. Thanks for keeping this one going.
Cheers and happy caching!

Today was the final day of the Clear Water Mega event in Queanbeyan. I spent much of the day south of the city and in and around the Namadgi National Park.
It was another day of great weather until late in the afternoon when a thunderstorm passed over. Fortunately I was pretty much finished and on my way back by then.
This one took a bit of messing around to complete, but I got there in the end.
Thanks Tankengine for the cache.

The CO was kind enough to let me log this one even with me forgetting to log it at the time.
So 8 months later I get round to logging this cache, if i remember right we took a while to find the info needed but got there in the end.
Another thanks to the CO for letting me log this.

I was way up north doing a whereigo with stainless steel rat and as we wanted to knock off a virtual we ignored everything in between and came directly here. As were lining things up a young mum asked us about the container and what it was like. I explained this one didn't have an actual container and she either didn't believe me or was disappointed. Her jealous husband took this an an opportunity to drag her away.
Distraction over we knuckled down to line everything up . We tossed up a couple of names, specific or general, not Bob or Alex and missed on our first attempt going a little far. We did find a number there but found the same number in a few other places too.
Option two nailed it!
Thanks for the virtual Tankengine

Out with JJ52 and Aussie M & M for a huge day of geocaching near Canberra. We are caching as JAM to save taking up space in all the caches we find.
My apologies for the generic logs but sadly many caches have blurred into a mess in my head. It may have to do with 4500 km I drove in 8 days.
I believe Aussie M & M sent in answers for the team.
Thanks to Tankengine from mogni

If there's one thing we seek out it's old virtuals so we were prepared for this one before we left home for the Queanbeyan Mega. With our printed compass we lined up the animals, did our calculations and set off in search of the code. We didn't know what we were looking for but we found one.... it just wasn't the right one the CO told us. How freaky that it fitted so well... it even had a couple of numbers right! Long story short and a few days later, we now have the correct code (approved by the CO) and are thrilled to be logging this old cache. TFTV Tankengine.
Today was a big day trying to find 10 cache types in a day, puzzles that we had solved, old caches and others that we came across on our travels. [^]
The South Aussie's again teamed up and signed the logs as JAMS (JJ52, Aussie M & M, mogni and SpidermonkeysMum) to save space in all the log books that we find.
A fun day was had by all, with some great caches found and lots of laughter along the way.
Answer sent to the CO and approval to log was received.

As if it's not bad enough when the wife is right and you may be, well choke, wrong, but on this occasion, I had 2 ladies with me. Oh, the pain of it all. they insist I award a fav. Logged with CO permission.
Out and about on a glorious Easter Sunday enjoying all the Autumn colours and this area was a wonderful surprise. Virtuals are a rare breed of cache these days and with this one in the vicinity just had to put it on the "to do" list. With the advent of GPS technology "mud maps" can be tricky but this one was relatively straightforward. I followed the map and arrived at a likely spot and came up trumps. Thank you for a wonderful experience in a gorgeous part of Canberra. FP awarded
Down from Brisbane for the Clear Waters Mega, with a geocache laundry list carefully compiled for collection during our stay . Your cache was one of many found during our short visit.

The last day of my MEGA trip as I need to be back at work in Brisbane on Tuesday. I still have a couple if caches that I wanted to find before I leave the area. This is cache is one of those as it is an old virtual. I had printed out the compass before leaving Brisbane and also worked out the approximate distance and put the paper into the folder that I always take on trips with me. Soooo many pieces of paper! I found the compass and that is where my trouble began. I set about aligning it correctly. Not sure why, but I couldn't get things to match up. A PAF proved helpful and I was soon headed off to look for the tag which was soon located. Answer has been sent to the CO. I enjoyed completing this old virtual. TFTC
Visiting Canberra for the Mega Event and having a wonderful time touring the city with my host and sister Tealby, finding many caches in the process.
We made a bit of a detour to track down this Virtual as one was required for a 'property' on the Cacheopoly game.
We received a verbal ok for permission to log the cache.
Thanks again Tankengine for a cache with a difference.

Wow what a cache, Virtual and all. This was so confusing for me. But then again I am a confusing person to start with.
It took me three visits to this site and many helps, and questions to get this one right. The CO was helpful and so was the phone a friend to.
I did this with [@AngusnmumyAdventures](http://coord.info/PRRD6GG), once I worked out the initial map and the direction by myself, then the help from the other we found what was needed. Sent it to the CO and got the ok.
Thanks for the great cache, Lil Donna & co

Answer sent. Took a couple of trips to align animals with the sheet and one trip of pacing out with no luck. Back again tonight and found almost straight away! Must have been the light from the torches !!! Brilliant idea!!
It was getting dark as we were getting to GZ. It took us a while to get alignment but when we did, we were on our way to grab the information. We have sent e-mail. Thanks Tankengine for a fun virtual....and for one that has been around for a long time.
Out with geofriends while attending the Clearwaters Mega at Queanbeyan. Worked out where we needed to find the info and answer sent to CO. Interesting location. Thanks for bringing me here.

Day 15: Clear Waters Mega Trip
The plan for today is picking up random suburbs, Trail of the Damned, and other exciting DT ratings (hopefully some letterboxes ).
We completed the full series and enjoyed the very hard slog to make it to the end. The views were amazing just as the containers were. Each was a complete delight, well disturbingly delight! Big thanks to my companions today in Ardom and Gcoven. There were many, many laughs and swears particularly as we battled the prickly thorn bushes. Leaving a favourite point for every single cache as each deserves. My favourite was number 15 and knowing what it was completely spurred me to achieve so I could see it with my own eyes.

Overwhelmed by so much temptation in and around the Clear Waters Mega precinct, chose to concentrate on caches while in town that assisted or completed challenges I’m chasing and this one ticked off a rare “interstate virtual” I needed. In between attempting to not look conspicuous or confused rotating a paper compass, still caught the eye of another cacher (JohnoMawbs) who took pity on us and came over to offer some cryptic hints (paying forward advice he had also received during his search… the benefit of a mega in town and lots of like minded visitors). Soon had some direction, a four digit number in sight and our helpful new friend even joining us for the rest of the day. Back at the Mega GZ, heard much chatter about various numbers submitted to the CO (some rejected, some approved) but luckily we had the right ones to log with permission.
This one had us (MizMaz and I) scratching our heads, trying to find symbols to match up to the compass. WE were fixated on the wrong thing, when help arrived in the form of JohnnoMawbs, who helped us decipher where we needed to be looking. Eventually we identified the animals, did the sum, and headed off in the (hopefully) right direction. We found a definite number, which I submitted to the CO, only to get a thumbs down. More investigation, and finally the right number got the thumbs up.
Love this cache, the work that's gone into it, the location, and the fun of the puzzle. Thanks for keeping it alive over all these years!

Not many finds today as I met up with some non-caching friends to begin my day. They were very excited to see me as quite a number of them haven’t seen me seen 2016. After all that excitement, I headed out for lunch and then caching. I met up with mizmaz and followed each other round to find todays caches. I quite enjoyed my day out finding caches around the area even though they were spread out and thin, I discovered some unique locations. If it wasn’t for caching I would never have visited these spots! Thanks for bringing me to them! TB visit on all caches. Thanks for each cache I found today and allowing them to bring joy to me and others! TFTC’s FP given.
