I was stoked to at least be able to claim one geotour cache of the series, and I think this was well worth it. What a cutie!! Signed as the SADDLE club for my team, Duppers and Shazzar66 on the last day. We visited Ballarat on our way home from the Adelaide leap mega specifically for this purpose. Ballarat is such a beautiful city I would really love to spend more time here o e day. Thank you ????

03-Mar-24
Please note - the gardens may be closed on Monday March 4th - the final GeoTour Day. If you cannot access this cache feel free to log as a find.

03-Mar-24
Shazzar66, AtTheLakeHouse and I flew from Brisbane to Adelaide to attend the Leap Day Mega. Our plan was to drive from Adelaide to Mt Gambier to find more of our targeted caches in the area, and then to drive to Melbourne Airport via Ballarat, as we had targets here too. A couple of our targets were geo-tour caches before they disappeared. Our caching list included Oldies, good or needed D/T caches, caches with high Favourite Point, and several others that took our interest. It was ATLH who made the find here to give us the geo-tour Attribute. Thanks, ballaratgeotour, for creating this series to assist in our short discovery of Ballarat, which was very memorable.

Had a blast going around Ballarat with bdp, kimmy533, drobbonz and our labs Cooper and Penny. We did these back on the 20th to 22nd but my logger didn't get around to logging them for me until now. Apologies for the cut and paste but now we have a ton of leap day caches to log. Thanks to the organisers who put this together and kept it all maintained.

Fav for me. This was a great day to get out and do this Geo tour with the help of some new Aussie friends. This was so fun because the tour has a variety of types of caches and gave such a wonderful tour of the area. This is only our third day visiting from Canada and we sure impressed with the caches and the friendly people. Thanks for the smile

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to prepare an 18-days project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select only few of them. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the Mega, which was initially our aim.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.During Blackhoot's event, "Auvergnats in Australia #2", McLookers told us about Ballarat's geotour caches. It was a great suggestion for our Sunday schedule. So departure at 8am from Melbourne, to spend the day in Ballarat, we will target geotours and a few extras. As the caches are far away, we will need a good day to turn them yellow. This will allow us to visit different spots in Ballarat. Thanks to the owners for the caches and the discovery of places.Thank you McLookers for this advise.Very cute

After staying overnight in Ballarat following a dinner trip to Apollo Bay with the MX-5 Club, I was out and about to finish off this Geo Tour. With 2 finds last year and 4 finds yesterday, I had a busy day ahead... especially as it was going to be hot. I parked near this cache but was muggled out when I arrived... so I went for a walk to find BGT06 and BGT04 before returning here. BY the time I got back the muggle had moved on so I had no trouble finding this cache and signing the log... a fabulous cache deserving of all its Favourite Points. Thanks **ballaratgeotour** for the cache... and the series.

Very cute. Soooo cute!Definitely gets a fav.Nice meeting you at the event this morning. A huge thank you to everyone who organized and maintained the geotour. A great example of a geotour highlighting a region.Day 2 of BGTThe grand plan was hatched months ago to get the Geotour done before it went away and to make it to Adelaide for the Leap Day Mega. This combined with other side trips and other cachers along the way. Here in Ballarat are bdp, kiwisteve2, drobbonz and kimmy533. It's been fun so far! Ask me in 3 weeks how many caches and how little sleep!

18-Feb-24
This morning was a bit of a scramble, to shuffle the items from the cars, buy a replacement sock from a gnome thief and find coffee and caches before the Ballarat geotour farewell event. This cache was sooooooo cute!Loved the home, poem and location.

We came to Ballarat today to complete the GeoTour. At GZ was a delightful little cottage once the home of famous Australian poet Adam Lindsay Gordon. A short search uncovered a nicely hidden log, hidden in a creative container. Thanks ballaratgeotour for the cache and keeping history alive. Maybe some finders will go on to read some of his poems.

18-Feb-24
We set out to complete as many of the BTG caches as we could today (and mop up the remainder next weekend) and also attend the Farewell Event being held today.I actually walked past the cache as it looked so much a part of the surrounds. TFTC.

18-Feb-24
Found during an extended weekend in the Ballarat area with e.gregory1, with the main aim of completing the Ballarat GeoTour, but taking the opportunity to attend a number of events and CITOs, and searching for a good range of caches while touring around the district. Thanks for the cache ballaratgeotour!

18-Feb-24
Found with FeatherWaite on a 4-day trip to Victoria. From Adelaide. Our main aim was to complete the Ballarat Geotour and other caches of interest in the broader Ballarat area. There were also a number of events and a CITO to attend. The weather was on the warm side, but not too bad for this time of year, which made for pleasant camping each night. The cache was found in good order. Thanks ballaratgeotour for the cache.

Visiting the area with Junni1. After the Sovereign Hill museum, we came here to see the botanic gardens and some cool caches. Thanks for the cache!

Couple of Finnish vanlifers traveling around this beautiful Australia with Matilda the campervan. Stopping here and there to enjoy life without any plans. After getting everything set up and visiting some friends, Mntti1 and I began our travels few months ago. After visiting Melbourne and Great Ocean road we were thinking of continuing our way to the Grampians but bushfires changed our plans so decided to visit Ballarat. This had logbook laying on the ground so signed and put everything back in place Thank you for the cache!

As I began nearing the end of my walk around the lake, primarily focussing on collecting the BGT caches, I soon arrived at this one. This would end up being my final BGT cache of the day. As there is less than a month remaining to find them, I really need to pick up the pace! It was a sunny and warm afternoon when I made it to GZ. There was a muggle looking around the area close by so I took a seat nearby to wait for him to vacate the area. Once he left, I quickly made my way over to this very cute and beautifully crafted little house and found the log. The cache and its log were both in excellent condition. TFTC

10-Feb-24
With the end of the BGT fast approaching, B & C put the afternoon aside to head down and clear the rest of the map. After a morning swim to an event in at the waterfront in Geelong and an FTF attempt that fell 3 minutes short, we fuelled up the car and pointed it down the Midland Fwy.Starting in Mt Buninyong, we cleared that out then made our way to Newington, out to the rail trail, back to the memorial arch, around Lake Wendouree and finally finishing in the city. A dozen or so BGTs as well as a handful of extra caches along the way took our tally for the day to 25 odd caches + a set of ad labs. Thanks to all the crew who put the effort in to get the Tour up and running, its much appreciated.

Find No. 4569. Found at 2.00pmIn Ballarat for a medical appointment. We had lunch in the Gardens, then after lunch we wandered around and done three stages of two different Adventure Labs. Stopping off at the nearby toilets before our appointment we discovered that there was a cache nearby so off we wandered. We found a cute little fairy house under a tree. Opened the door and there was a log book to sign.Signed the log and as we still had some time up our sleeve we went inside the Cottage for a look. Mrs Tyred n Cranky heard one of the women in charge mention Geocaching so she enquired about it and discovered that one of them was the owner of the cache outside. It was good to meet you Mazzymay and have a chat about Geocaching.TFTC Mazzymay

accidentally found this on summer sundays!!

03-Feb-24
I swapped scooters with The Rustys so I absolutely fanged it to this cache doing 20kms in the bike lane (mine was a bit older and could only get up to 15kms). I really wish we had more time to explore this cottage . . . crafting is my jam. Such a whimsical cache container. Just lovely.

03-Feb-24
This morning didnt go to plan, even with alarms set I over slept resulting in a delay to the caching weekend in Ballarat (oops) When we finally did get on the road we managed to reach our goal of completing the BGT starting just after 11am and completing the final one just after 10pm, with a lunch picnic at lake Weenderee. We had pre booked pet friendly accommodation and this came in handy to recharge our phones and just take a small break from the heat 35deg or so. This trip was the other end of the scale from our first attempt to complete the tour where we resembled drowned humans when we chose a very wet weekend Ttfc

03-Feb-24
On a weekend trip to Ballarat with K9team to find the last 19 caches we had in the geotour before its over. Taking our time in the 33c heat we made our way through finding our first cache around 11am arfter driving over from Bendigo and our last cache just arfter 10pm. Thanks for the cacheSorry for generic logs.

03-Feb-24
Our final cache on our trusty scooters, although they are not allowed in this area, so we left them at the gate. A short walk to GZ and we loved what we found. Not only was it a gorgeous cache but a little girl had left a cuuuuuute little note for the fairies.

03-Feb-24
We're back in Ballarat to find the last few remaining geocaches of the Geotour before we head east back to our home base for a little while. The afternoon had warmed up considerably so I left M in the air-conditioned car and made my way to GZ alone. So cute! Thanks for find #5378TNLN

We were meant to be in Townsville this long weekend but a tropical cyclone dramatically changed our plans. Kploz and I were still keen to go away and with the Ballarat GeoTour closing soon we thought it was a perfect excuse to head up this way. Love this cache so much. Felt a little intrusive so I knocked first to see if it was ok to come in. The gardens were busy due to a nearby event but we managed to find some shade and signed the log.

Very useful clue. Nice cache.

Very cool. Loved it. Down for the day, saw the fave points and thought we would check it out. A point from me as well.

Who knew there would be so many people here on Australia Day! Whoops. We had decided we would circle the lake on foot and by bike, so we weren't too worried about our starting point - just anywhere we could get a park. The day was getting on, despite having just started, so we picked the closest cache and went for it. Firstly, we took a lovely stroll through the botanical gardens (we will definitely be back - some cool ideas here) and then the best cache which elicited squeals of delight from the geokids. I'm surprised the logbook makes it with all the passing traffic and cute notes for fairies from the kids - but it does. Just wonderful. Thanks for bringing us here!

Sometime ago myself and gooseandegg had looked at the idea of doing one of the GeoTours in Australia but due to finders losing the attributes and maybe even the souvenir I wasn't about to go out of my way to search out a GeoTour, upon hearing that finders would retain the attributes and souvenir for the Ballarat GeoTour this changed things and plans were made to head specially to the Ballarat area.We flew out of Hobart on Thursday night after work and after a night staying near the airport we were picked up early by honorary Tasmanian 1Toolman, we spent the next two days searching out all the GeoTour and some choice old or special geocache in and around Ballarat, on Sunday morning we just had time to call at GemmaSistemas event out at Miners Rest before turning tail and dashing for the airport to get on my first ever Rex flight back to Hobart, even landing early at 1307.Found on 26/01/2024 at 18:37:00 thanks to ballaratgeotour for placing this cache for me to find.
