Found quickly but couldn't get it back correctly. Damn, jiggled bit by bit. Good day for a rowing regatta.Thank you Ballarat GeoTour for this series and maintaining for the past four years. Enjoyed the drive.
We enjoyed the activity on the lake at this location. Thanks for making a geotour in your town.
Had a blast going around Ballarat with bdp, kimmy533, drobbonz and our labs Cooper and Penny. We did these back on the 20th to 22nd but my logger didn't get around to logging them for me until now. Apologies for the cut and paste but now we have a ton of leap day caches to log. Thanks to the organisers who put this together and kept it all maintained.
Found with Mattycat and PurrfectDi while on holidays around the 29th and 30th of January. Thanks for the Ballarat geotour experience
Found with Mattycat and Jackthemonkey while touring around the 29th and 30th of January. Thanks for the geotour experience

This was a tough one to find, we were about to leave when my daughter finally found it! ??
Fav point. Cool hide. This was a great day to get out and do this Geo tour with the help of some new Aussie friends. This was so fun because the tour has a variety of types of caches and gave such a wonderful tour of the area. This is only our third day visiting from Canada and we sure impressed with the caches and the friendly people. Thanks for the smile
I was beyond happy when I eventually found this cache! This mustve been about my 5th-ish attempt at finding it. My previous attempts have always had to be abandoned due to muggles lingering around GZ, either fishing, having lunch or taking a VERY long time to launch a boat. As today is my final available day for this GeoTour before it ends, I returned a bit later in the evening tonight knowing that I will have to find it, muggles or not. When I returned, it was fortunately very quiet around GZ. I then set to searching for this cache, which took a lot longer than it shouldve. It turns out, I had my eyes on it the whole time, even grabbing it a couple of times. However, I initially disregarded it as it didnt seem to budge. I did eventually give it a firm pull and was relieved to finally have the container in my hands. The wind then suddenly began picking up so I quickly signed my name and placed it back in its neat little hidey- hole.TFTC
6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to prepare an 18-days project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select only few of them. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the Mega, which was initially our aim.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.During Blackhoot's event, "Auvergnats in Australia #2", McLookers told us about Ballarat's geotour caches. It was a great suggestion for our Sunday schedule. So departure at 8am from Melbourne, to spend the day in Ballarat, we will target geotours and a few extras. As the caches are far away, we will need a good day to turn them yellow. This will allow us to visit different spots in Ballarat. Thanks to the owners for the caches and the discovery of places.Thank you McLookers for this advise.
After staying overnight in Ballarat following a dinner trip to Apollo Bay with the MX-5 Club, I was out and about to finish off this Geo Tour. With 2 finds last year and 4 finds yesterday, I had a busy day ahead... especially as it was going to be hot. Having had a bit of luck at BGT11, I decided to finish most of the caches around Lake Wendouree before it got really chaotic. A few fishing muggles were nearby this cache but they were concentrating on this lines so I was able to get this find. Thanks **ballaratgeotour** for the cache... and the series.
In town to collect the geo tour and a few other select caches. Interesting locations and some great hides along the way certainly fun and show cases the area. TFTC
Quick find but we needed to be careful about the muggles.I was fascinated by the lake Zamboni that seemed to be weeding. A huge thank you to everyone who organized and maintained the geotour. A great example of a geotour highlighting a region.Day 2 of BGTThe grand plan was hatched months ago to get the Geotour done before it went away and to make it to Adelaide for the Leap Day Mega. This combined with other side trips and other cachers along the way. Here in Ballarat are bdp, kiwisteve2, drobbonz and kimmy533. It's been fun so far! Ask me in 3 weeks how many caches and how little sleep!
The next location on my walking tour of Lake Wendouree was this lovely spot. I stopped for a short while to look at the water birds, found the cache and then moved on.Thank you ballaratgeotour for this cache and the GeoTour.
Found it, loved it, had a great time on the Ballarat GeoTour......all these amazing areas in and around Ballarat I never knew existed!! Thank you to everyone involved in setting up and managing, TFTC ??
Found with FeatherWaite on a 4-day trip to Victoria. From Adelaide. Our main aim was to complete the Ballarat Geotour and other caches of interest in the broader Ballarat area. There were also a number of events and a CITO to attend. The weather was on the warm side, but not too bad for this time of year, which made for pleasant camping each night. The cache was found in good order. Thanks ballaratgeotour for the cache.
We set out to complete as many of the BGT caches as we could today (and mop up the remainder next weekend) and also attend the Farewell Event being held today.A great walk around part of the lake. A quick find. TFTC.
Found during an extended weekend in the Ballarat area with e.gregory1, with the main aim of completing the Ballarat GeoTour, but taking the opportunity to attend a number of events and CITOs, and searching for a good range of caches while touring around the district. Thanks for the cache ballaratgeotour!
#21633 @1625Visiting Ballarat for the weekend from Canberra to do the Geotour. Cache easily found. TFTC.
The pressure is on to complete the Ballarat Geo Tour Logged the rest of the outlying caches today. Then things got stormy and I retreated Only a handful to do now.Pulled into the car park next to a lady who had two working dogs on a leash, and four cats in carriers. She said her partner was in the CFA, and hed asked to get off the farm with the pets. Asked if I could help? She had already called a friend. As I got back to the car park, the friend pulled in with a van. Waved and drove off. Its all happening!TFTC ballaratgeotour
Nice quick finds around Lake Wendouree.Day 2 - Working our way through the Geo Tour
With the end of the BGT fast approaching, B & C put the afternoon aside to head down and clear the rest of the map. After a morning swim to an event in at the waterfront in Geelong and an FTF attempt that fell 3 minutes short, we fuelled up the car and pointed it down the Midland Fwy.Starting in Mt Buninyong, we cleared that out then made our way to Newington, out to the rail trail, back to the memorial arch, around Lake Wendouree and finally finishing in the city. A dozen or so BGTs as well as a handful of extra caches along the way took our tally for the day to 25 odd caches + a set of ad labs. Thanks to all the crew who put the effort in to get the Tour up and running, its much appreciated.
Up in Ballarat for work, figured I'd try grab a a couple of caches.Quick find, log stamped and replaced. Thanks
After hearing that the Ballarat GeoTour was to be archived in early March, I quickly made arrangements to travel down from Queensland to complete it before it became apart of Australian Geocaching history. Nice spot. GeoTour find # 4 of 25.TFTC. TNLN. SL. TBs Eddie Mac to New Zealand and Back, Prado Owl , Rawhide , Surrey Travel Tag and Kiwi Bird visited.Find # 1902.
We're back in Ballarat to find the last few remaining geocaches of the Geotour before we depart western Victoria. We'd stopped here earlier but there was a family picnicking nearby so we headed off to find a few others. On our return, teh picnickers were gone but a fishing muggle was now here. I was just about to give up again when a group wandered by showing all the signs of being geocachers. I joined them at GZ and the fishing type must have felt outnumbered so left, leaving us in peace and privacy to locate this rather clever hide. Thanks for find #5386TNLN
This morning didnt go to plan, even with alarms set I over slept resulting in a delay to the caching weekend in Ballarat (oops) When we finally did get on the road we managed to reach our goal of completing the BGT ??starting just after 11am and completing the final one just after 10pm, with a lunch picnic at lake Weenderee. We had pre booked pet friendly accommodation and this came in handy to recharge our phones and just take a small break from the heat 35deg or so. This trip was the other end of the scale from our first attempt to complete the tour where we resembled drowned humans when we chose a very wet weekend ????Ttfc
I love a good sneaky hide - unfortunately the log sheet had fallen out of the container so we couldn't actually sign this one. . . BUT, we met up with Fertzger at an event shortly after and he gave us permission to log this cache. I believe he was also going to fix this one up pretty promptly seeing as it would be a busy weekend for the BGT.
On a weekend trip to Ballarat with K9team to find the last 19 caches we had in the geotour before its over. Taking our time in the 33c heat we made our way through finding our first cache around 11am arfter driving over from Bendigo and our last cache just arfter 10pm. Thanks for the cacheSorry for generic logs.
We realised that instead of meandering around the lake at 10km/hr, we could go out onto the bike lane on the road and the speed limiter increased to 20km/hr. Needless to say, it was a bit of a quicker trip from the last cache to this one. A pretty spot here and not a soul in sight. We unfortunately found the cache in a state of bother and couldnt sign the log book, but we did bump into the BGT team a short time afterwards and reported the problem, which they were going to see to immediately.
We had a small gap in our retirement schedule and managed to sneak over to complete the geotour - previously we had only found one out at Learmonth. The tour took us to some familiar places but also to some new ones.Thank you to the team especially those who put quite a bit of effort into the containers.
Still wandering around on a road trip with Jack and Purrfect Di. Every day is a Caching Day - so off we go again [:o)]Had to wait for a council worker to look the other way... he probs knows it's there anyway! Nice hide. Thanks ballaratgeotour for this cache hide and ongoing care and maintenance ---------------- ----------------------In a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and solid caches falling from trees - - - a cache a day keeps us agile... sort of --------Caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too! (And a little rubber stamp ) Work gets in the way - and some may take longer to log than others due to mixed technology and need for sleep! The skill and talent of some Zenior Zombies helps, and maybe a spot of luck too [:o)]----------Cache carefully and make sure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on Clean as you go and cache the countryside Big thanks to those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas, in nice safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun for all Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!! Maybe not though - as someone actually did read to the end and alerted me to just a project GC badge that requires long logs [:o)] Well at least it's not as bad as finding a mint tin! Did you get that... stop putting out rusty mint tins, just stop it, now!!! C'est fini... For now... ... until tomorrow! Viva Mexicana ! Thanks for the caches beyond the wall [:o)] But there's no place like home! PS:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------GCA1DNA - Great Leap Forward ... or is it backward... it takes an extra day to get to March 29.2.24 The Mega Leap Event of the year. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------And don't forget to put the SA June Long Weekend in your diary for 2024 too... fun and funky finding with a little competition too
TFTC - In the area with HeliKelli for the Ballarat GeoTour and located the cache. This is certainly a beautiful area.
We were meant to be in Townsville this long weekend but a tropical cyclone dramatically changed our plans. Kploz and I were still keen to go away and with the Ballarat GeoTour closing soon we thought it was a perfect excuse to head up this way. Being a CO myself I have a few hides like this so I know what I was looking for here. This one was well constructed and we could easily retrieve it as we watched local rowers practicing.
As w approached this one I had a good idea of where it might be and soon it was in hand - well part of it. The rest was still in its hidey hole. I got geopartner to have a look and yup - it was there. We tried a few TOTTs that we had with us but couldn't find a way to get it out, so it remains without our name. I took a picture though.
Sometime ago myself and gooseandegg had looked at the idea of doing one of the GeoTours in Australia but due to finders losing the attributes and maybe even the souvenir I wasn't about to go out of my way to search out a GeoTour, upon hearing that finders would retain the attributes and souvenir for the Ballarat GeoTour this changed things and plans were made to head specially to the Ballarat area.We flew out of Hobart on Thursday night after work and after a night staying near the airport we were picked up early by honorary Tasmanian 1Toolman, we spent the next two days searching out all the GeoTour and some choice old or special geocache in and around Ballarat, on Sunday morning we just had time to call at GemmaSistemas event out at Miners Rest before turning tail and dashing for the airport to get on my first ever Rex flight back to Hobart, even landing early at 1307.Found on 26/01/2024 at 18:51:00 thanks to ballaratgeotour for placing this cache for me to find. The base didn't come out with the rest of the cache but with a few tools it was persuaded to let go. We hade sure it was on firmly when returned. I spent the Australia Day long weekend in and around Ballarat with 1TOOLMAN and stainless steel rat to do the geotour. We found them all plus most other caches from our short list of around 70 caches. Thanks to all to COs, and everyone involved in the Ballarat GeoTour
Our first cache!Couldn't read the label as it was half ripped off, but exciting just the same!
Easy find after a good search. Amazed that some kayakers are going out today, that wind is freezing! Anyway, great day for caching as muggles in low numbers. TFTC
We have come to Ballarat for the weekend to collect all the caches for the Geotour. We found a total of 21 caches today. Very busy at the lake today, windy, many walkers and joggers as well as a school rowing regatta taking place. Geo-collie was happy for a walk around the lake too. A local swan hissed at us here, quickly found and returned. TFTC
The completion of the Geotour was finally in our sights after 3 cancelled trips due to sickness and fire disasters. Finally we will complete the tour and claim the prize - a Geotour Coin. Caching with Redink, Tikitere, with Jonescrew joining us for a couple of caches as well. We had a massive day... Just over 10 hours of caching to finish. A really fun day. Lots of driving. A lot more walking than we anticipated. Some really lovely locations. Some very interesting cache notes and history. Thank for the series, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Tftc
Found with tikitere and larafolk. After a couple of failed attempts we finally found a day to finish the BGT. Thankfully all caches were found before dark. Lots of ppl around but our group of three blended in. TFTC
Found it, we had tried claiming this cache previously but a number of muggles were very close so we decided to leave it for another day, again today we thought their may have been a bit too crowded, but we parked a bit further away and casually strolled in, no muggles, but we did get a couple of warning hisses from a black swan. A good hide, but we found it quickly today. Another of the Geotour ticked off. TFTC
On the train just after 6am to make our way to Ballarat. The light rain cleared, and by the time we left Southern Cross the sun was out.We are on bikes today, so this first tour will focus on caches around central Ballarat.Arriving at GZ we looked for the obvious and thought - oh dear, this has been muggled. But wait, a little persistence revealed an elegant piece of design.Lovely!TFTC
On a wet and windy summers day jammc33-35 and I decided to give the for tour a bit of a go, thank goodness we have allowed 2 days and if we dont get side track we might just complete our goal, this was a super clever hide, thanks for placing it
Wow our 1st adventure to Ballarat, its beautiful. Watched a dog owner play with the dogs in the water. Lovely lake & perfect hide. TFTC!
In Ballarat to complete the Geo tour before it is finished. We also found a few more caches that were near by. Unfortunately we were unable to complete the whole tour so we will have to come back to finish it off. This was a nice easy find TFTC??
Day 2 of a week long caching trip to Ballarat & Geelong regions, to complete the getter before it ends and grab some caches that have been on my to-do list since at least pre-covid.About visit number 8 for me here as it seems to be a popular muggle hang out including one vehicle parked directly in front of GZ with their headlights on for hours last night.Eventually.... an easy find once I had access without muggles. Thanks Gemma and the team for placing and maintaining this Geotour.Find recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK
Day 2 of our Ballarat Boys BreakAn early start sees Breadman75, Davinells and I cruising the mean streets of Ballarat and surrounds in our hire car, the Peugeot Party Prowler We still havent worked out how to unlock the doors from the insideThank goodness Breadman was here to save the dayThanks ballaratgeotour ??
Day 2 of our adventure around Ballarat with Beardman75 and Peppa. It was super windy in this side of the lake. We touched a few of the wrong things before BM75 touched the right one.Tftc ballaratgeotourFind #5195
I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes. Found with Peppa and Davinells. Thanks for the cache ballaratgeotour
Find 11 of the 25 Ballarat GeoTour CachesI had to play a very long game of patience at Durham Point. It was very windy so I sat and sat and sat and sat while I waited for the Muggle, who was sitting reading on the seat right near GZ, to leave. My patience paid off. The Muggle finally left and I had the cache in hand quickly, signed the log and returned it all within a few minutes. Just as I got back into the car, another Muggle came along on his exercise routine - LOL . My thanks to all involved in setting up and maintaining all the caches of the GeoTour - an amazing effort that is greatly appreciated.PS: The Troll Dolls [TN6TR0] were with me on my great caching adventures today.
Here are some spoilers..or guards. Located cache quickly and due to bold spot did the deed quickly. Im thinking that as the time marches on Im chipping away in a mighty solo manner - and the last forever and what a blast its now in the past. The Geotour is 5 hours from home base so it was a case of will I regret it, Im in Melbs and its only a wee detour to finish the last 18 - yes Id only completed 7 so a spontaneous decision saw me on a mission leaving marvellous Melbs a tad late. The mission included a promise to self about no geo distractions and total self discipline for the first time ever - only snacks and no stopping, no picking up other solved puzzles and no spontaneity for 6 hours did it with an efficient plan. The journey aka tour gave a good sense of days gone past. THTC and the FUN.
Find#6395Nice hiding place What a epic road trip exploring Australia Thanks for the cache
So all had been going well and we arrived at this cache. Despite the tricky hide we just happened to find the cache very quickly. The log sheet was absolutely chock a block, so we moved to the car to add a supplementary log sheet. During that 2 minutes, a car and boat appeared at the ramp, right next to the cache hide. So began the wait. Such is the way of the game, but we had a couple of muggle relatives with us who didn't appreciate the patience of the game. The penny dropped and we all played a game of frisbee on the grass. After a while it became evident that this was not going to be a two minute launch by the boatie, so we decided to split up. Greatjustgreat and Notquiteyet replaced the hide whilst i took the muggles with me to the next cache. All good here and we really enjoyed this hide. A new favourite cache of ours. Cheers
Found with isopeda after the event this morning. Nice to doing the Ballarat Geotour. Tftc
The log we could get out is quite full and we squeezed our names on the edge. The Swans were not interested in us and kept snoozing just a metre away. TFTC *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Finally getting around to finding the GeoTour in Ballarat. And today was the day. Sun shining for a change.Parked up outside the botanical gardens and started the walk to grab what caches i needed in the area. Thanks for the hides, All are in usable condition, Though a new logbook in most would be a good idea.
With a few days off after the start of the new year an arrangement was made to attempt to do some caches in Ballarat including the D/T Matrix Challenge cache With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache ballaratgeotourThe following TBs visited for the distance - Adventures with softball 29 and Harper, Govenor Lachlan Macquarie, Hawkesbury Tiger, phlphotos 2011 - 2023 NSW geocoin, phlphotos Cache In Trash Out Geocoin, phlphotos Cache In Trash Out Tag, phlphotos CITO Leaf Nano Geocoin, phlphotos CITO Micro Geocoin, phlphotos - CITO 2019 - 2022 Coin, phlphotos Four Elements Geocoin, phlphotos Optical Illusion Geocoin, phlphotos Spindoc Bob Memorial Geocoin, phlphotos Wheel of Caching Geocoin and phls silver ride

Jetsons23 and Oshfam on some geocaching shenanigans. Collecting smilies along the way. Hoping to get the Ballarat tour done today. Thanks for the cache.
With the time running out to complete the Ballarat GeoTour, I thought that I had better make a start. With a NYD event on in the morning it seemed like a good day for it, as well as a nice sunny warm Summers day. I was hoping to get all of the GeoTour caches knocked over in one day, but a return trip is required to grab just a couple more. Thanks for all involved in placing these caches and maintaining them for the duration of the GeoTour. A nice clever hide for this one. It was fortunately the first place that I looked.
With the Ballarat Geotour nearing its end, jetsons23 and I set off very early morning for the long drive to Ballarat for a day of adventures and hopefully some shenanigans. We agreed the plan was to be disciplined and only find Geotour caches and not get distracted by other caches nearby or along the way. I must say we did amazingly well sticking to this plan, not deviating even though we were tempted. The first day of the new year is set to bring a 25 degree sunny day.Jetsons23 made a lucky find here on the first thing she touched not realising it was the cache . That was quick. A black swan watched on beside us.Thank you for the cache here BallaratGeoTour
20/25 Here completing the Ballarat Geotour on this New Years Eve day. This was the final cache to find around Lake Wedouree. Need to come back and complete all the others around. TFTC
On tour with lorigus74. Still doing the lap. Unfortunately I parked in the wrong spot, so had to do a lap of the carpark. Cleave cache placement. The lap continues
