Thank you for hosting this geocaching event! The date of the event has passed. We automatically archive events after 30 days (60 days for Mega- and Giga-Events). Attendees can still log archived events, log trackables, and share their experiences.
What a fabulous night this was. Had a lot of fun with my team mates The Green Gecko, Muggle 65, and Team JBL. It was so nice to meet to all.
Catching up on a bit of logging (most of it late or very late, apologies on that fact).I enjoy attending these events, it's great to catch up with other cachers to chat about all things caching.thanks for hosting this ripper event. Thanks to CacheQLD for organising this event.
This was the final of a big day that started at ???? o'clock for those who were attempting 12 types in a day today. We had a hoot here and learnt a few things too.TFTC??
Today, jesswrigley and I had been staying in Robina during the recent Brisbane COVID-19 lockdown, which made our attendance of the nearby CITO event quite handy.
It was then time for me to make the solo drive north to Dayboro to partake in Day 1 of the planned Mega event! I firstly signed in to Mega HQ, and completed the Adventure Lab activities. With my Adelaide friends making the decision to abandon their plans, I headed around solo in finding the various solved geoart and other interesting cache types. I ran into many other Geocachers during the day, and joined a group in Hillview Court Reserve, before finally attending the Trivia Event. There were a few scattered showers, but otherwise, it was tolerable geocaching weather.
Thankfully, I did manage to complete 12 cache types with today's mega event festivities happening.
I always enjoy trivia nights, as they are light entertainment that provides a background for fun and social conversation. I had previously organised a table with fellow South Australians who were supposed to make the pilgrimage here, but due to the uncertainty of COVID-19 and associated border closures, they pulled the pin. However, I didn't mind as it provided an opportunity to infiltrate Queenslanders and get to know the locals.
I ended up joining Table 30 with Peppa, PirateLinda, and Ruzzelz, and they were names that I had come across in my geocaching adventures, so a chance to put names to faces and get to know them more. I thought I was placed on a table number that got pulled, so whilst trying to discover where my table was, I must have been fretting and looking worried, and it turned out Peppa and PirateLinda were watching me, came to the conclusion to who I was... and just kept continuing to watch me. Nice one guys
The MCs did a great night of the quiz night, and some excellent research and preparation when into the night's festivities. We had a few good rounds, and a few rounds that we thought were great, but as it turned out, they weren't. Following the break, the neighbouring table must have pulled the pin, with dahumbug then joining our table. We ended up closing out the night with more fun and knowledge gained, that overall, some fantastic fun. Thanks CacheQLD committee aka. Ardom, EatSleepCacheRepeat, Gcoven, JACS Team, Orange Crew, SEMIK, and Simber15 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

A great night out straining our brains and catching up after a long day of caching. My favorite round of the evening - Pokemon or Perscription (ok ok its mostly cause it was the only one I could get 100% on lol). Thanks for adding to the fun of a wonderful Mega! Thanks for the cache.
Well I do enjoy dropping the odd piece of trivia now and again so it was only fitting that I joined up with Gunnie69 and NurseyJulie to inject some of that seemingly useful information into the event!
Well we sort of came second so that was a little satisfying!

Hhad a wonderful night playing trivia with our friends and family.
Thanks Cache Queensland, Captain Terror and Nett88 for the fun night full of laughs and good times.

Oops nearly forgot to log this event,i was fortunate to be on Table22 and we did alright with some correct answers on some difficult questions.
I would like to thank my table friends who made the night a lot of fun and a big thank you to the organisers for a wonderful evening.

Along with our snuggle-muggles, family cachers and a friend, we had a thoroughly enjoyable and not unsuccessful evening at this very well set up event. Everyone in the team turned out to have different types of trivia in their head, so we each had a chance to shine, too, which was great. Thanks for organising it, and thanks for the chocolate!

We actually attended this event just didn't take part. We weren't sure if we would make it. Thanks for the cache.
I did attend this event, I just didn't participate. Coming from Melbourne and with the chaos of Covid, there was no guarantee that I would even get to Queensland. A huge thank you must go to all that put their time and effort into making this happen for all of us to enjoy.
A great event - thank you the the CacheQLD committee for hosting. Nice to catch up with fellow Nth QLDers
I don’t know why Sybil makes me attend these things. I can’t stand those little chicken stuffed things
Luckily for me, someone had on a geobuddy's team was unable to make it to the Mega, so I was able to join their team. What a fun evening! Lots of fun and laughter and I even learnt a thing or two. Thank you to everyone involved.....and TFTC
Catching up with some late logs.
We were there for the pre drinks and had a great time catching up but unfortunately with the pending weather we needed to get back to batten down the hatches as did a couple of our other team members so notified the committee that we wouldn't be able to finish the game.
We are sorry that we had to leave as the first bit sounded like it was going to be a lot of fun but if we did we may not have had a dry bed.
Thanks CacheQld for organising this.

Offered a spare seat on a roadtrip with The Rats and Wilbert67 to the Dayboro Mega, jumped at the chance to accept, and together with Steeba (who flew up), we joined forces to become “the Gong Gang” over the Easter weekend. Aside from the rain and threats of last minute border restrictions, it turned into 2500km of fun, finds and adventures. Thanks to the Gang for the invite, company and shared solves/searches and all the COs for the smiley opportunities. Apologies for the generic log (unless further comments required) but we got through a LOT!! Always enjoy a bit of friendly competition with fellow cachers and tonight was no different. Thought we were off to a good start when “The Gong Gang” took out the winner’s chocolates in the first round. Sadly we couldn’t keep up the victorious streak but still had a lot of fun… Actually learnt more facts than I expected… or maybe needed [?]
What a hilarious time we had. Our table was a mix-up of groups and we enjoyed getting to know them over a cheese platter and drinks. The hosts for the night were, as always, hilarious and knowledgeable. Quite a few times I wished we had our own trivia buff along with us this weekend but I think I did him proud on the Pokemon Questions. Turns out I am rubbish at geography, landmarks, pop culture, and life. IT was a laugh and enlightening. I can't wait to do it again.
Dayboro QLD Mega - Day Five:
The fifth day of our mega road trip with buhfuhguh!
Today was MEGA day! We decided to use this day around Dayboro itself, visiting the mega site, doing Lab Caches, completing the Horse geoart, letterbox series, and a bunch of other caches around the town including a few T5's in the Kayak, and managing to lose my engine splash shield by going down a bumpy dirt road.... all worth it though for the incredible day we had! Many thanks to Cache QLD for organising today, and all the CO's involved
---
This Cache:
After a long day of caching around Dayboro and surrounds, cleaning out everything on our to-do list so that we could focus on Brisbane tomorrow, we finally made our way back to the showgrounds for the Trivia Night.
We didn't get involved with the trivia itself, as we had a tight schedule and still needed to get back into Brisbane to our accomodation, and ready for an early day following. We hung around for a little bit to say hello to familiar faces on the tables before the trivia itself began before heading off.
Thanks CacheQLD for organising!

After a great day enjoying some Mega activities and geocaching with friends it was time for what I am going to call the best trivia I have attended.
Many thanks to the hosts for their fun and interactive questions on various topics

Easter trip away with fitzy_1965 for the cacheQLD Dayboro Mega.
After the Mega Opening Ceremony, we teamed up with nibletricecakes, GLISS! & Albida33, signing logs as MiNiFiGA's. Today was the day to put our puzzle solving hard work to the test. We did not let the persistent rain dampen our spirits, tackling the Horse, Pacman & part of the We <3 Geo Geo-art trails and any others in-between.
We ended the day with a Round 5 win in the Trivia Night. Thanks for a great event!

What an absolutely phenomenal event to attend!
I am the weird kind of person, who when presented with a microphone feels an overwhelming need to use it. So when I was asked to co-host the trivia for the CacheQLD Mega-Event, I couldn't say no. Also, I was outright honoured to have been asked. [@Net88](http://coord.info/PR4F6N1) and I got to work over a few phone and Zoom calls to pull together what the trivia would look like.
Roll on Saturday night and I was astounded as geocachers kept crowding into the hall. I thought it was a big hall, but it sure felt small with so many bodies inside - mingling around, grabbing drinks, having dinner. The energy was just fantastic.
Let's not lie - there's no such thing as a perfect speaking situation, and this busy hall had some difficulties. But, all involved did the best they could, and we began after a few fine-tuning adjustments (mostly to my personal delivery). And it seems to me everyone at the event was super understanding and chose to enjoy the night.
Somewhere, this event listing had a time associated with it. All I know is we just chugged along with questions until they ran out. No tins of tomatoes were thrown, so I guess fun over-ruled time.
And speaking of tomatoes not being thrown - the third round. Oh, the third round! As someone who *should* know geocaching near-perfectly, it was a weird combination of hilarious and embarrassing when three questions in a row in the geocaching knowledge round I had completely wrong answers for. But hey, with so many in the room, a correct answer was quickly presented and settled on.
The laughter, good times and jestering continued. I for one loved also wandering around the tables, meeting people quickly, making more dumb jokes and generally adding chaos to answer sheets.
Congratulations to everyone who played and earned some prizes. I for one never mind the scores at trivia and tonight had an absolute blast. Of course, Net88 and I got to hold the microphone, but this event wouldn't've happened without the support of the CacheQLD committee and volunteers, so thank you all!

24,171. Attended with minniek and a whole bunch of Cachers on a fun night.
Well this was a fun way to finish a pretty big day. 150+ caches in the wet weather took it out of me, and so after dinner and 3 rounds of trivia I headed off to bed as we had another big day planned tomorrow.
Thanks CacheQLD !!

Attended with my main squeeze, Oddiewan. We did not compete but rather stayed to visit with friends and watch the shenanigans. Would have done well with the first 2-3 categories but then the rest went downhill. Folks had fun, and that’s all that matters.
Thanks for the fun, CacheQLD

But it was a lot of fun.
Thank you for this evening.

Found this cache as part of our Easter long-weekend road trip to the Dayboro mega event. A great adventure and plenty of finds, teamed up with Wilbert, Mizmaz and steeba for this roadtrip.
Many of our logs are signed with "Gong gang" to represent all four of us who were present. Apologise for the boiler style log.
What a great night - we won round 1 but alas couldnt keep the form going. Having hosted a number of trivia nights I know how hard they can be, this one was a lot of fun and laughs.
Thanks

Nearly forgot to log this event. An enjoyable evening with gcraider, and team members Muff1 and Driftindillons. Thanks for your company, even though we weren't all that successful. It's the journey, not the destination that counts sometimes.
So many hands on deck for this event so thanks to everyone.. The amazing hosts who wrote the questions, and kept us entertained! The volunteers who helped with set up & pack up on the night, the yummy food trucks, the CWA who last minute got extra chairs moved into the hall for us, and especially the guests who kept us up to date with their table numbers across all the changes, and all came out to share in the fun!
Lots of time and planning went into this one and it paid off. According to project GC, this is now the 5th most attended event QLD has has! (Keep that bit of info stored cause it could be asked at the next trivia night!) ??

As part of the Dayboro CacheQLD MEGA experience I got to put my knowledge of the irrelevant to the test - and pretty chuffed with how well our team did - go the mighty Canyonero Incognitos! A great night's fun, with absolutely amazing hosts, and the company was awesome too. Well done all involved.
Thanks for holding this event, CacheQLD. A fantastic time was had at this, my 116th ever event.

A great night was enjoyed by several attendees of the Dayboro Mega event. The questions covered a wide range of topics. It was great introducing our German friends, Jebjeb, what a Trivia quiz night was about. Once they got the hang of it they proved valuable members of our team. Even on the Australian theme they had learned quite a lot in their 14 months spent in Australia so far.
Attended this trivia event on Saturday night. Sat with arewethere?, Ian & Penny and Grey parrots. We had a lot of fun and everyone had a go at scribing the answers. 2010's and silly games were my best categories. Thanks for a fun night.
#11177 - 6:30:00 PM; Day nine of a road trip with Sol de lune for the CacheQLD - Dayboro Mega. After a big day of caching around the local area and further afield, we took a rather long way back to the venue from our last cache find for this event. Fortunately it was a later start than we anticipated so we managed to make it back in time to grab some food and beverages before kick off. An enjoyable night and a good roll up. I will await with interest the result of the stewards enquiry into the round with the questions on gorillas and dogs. I'm not sure whether there was really a team which answered one of these questions correctly, or whether the team doing the marking was on the take! Gave the other teams something to talk about for sure! Another big WELL DONE for this event. TFTE CacheQLD

Found during my Mega Roadtrip to the Dayboro Mega with Loci612, with many Earthcaches, Virtuals, larges and LGA's with around 300 finds in total it was a massive trip. Thanks for the cache and being part of the journey.

I enjoyed this event way more then I expected to! Our table did terrible at some of the rounds but better towards the end. We even argued with the hosts at times.
It was a great night and even though we lost the box of chocolates to rock paper scissors, we won a trackable and had lots of laughs.
Thansk for organising this event. Type 11/11 in a day for most of our table!

Dayboro trip. Day 9. The first full day of the Mega proper dawned and with it the formal opening was observed early in the morning. We then broke into team to spend th3e day caching, targeting the several geo-art series in the vicinity of Dayboro. I was joined by Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Nibblericecakes and Gliss. There were showers on and off all day, but the caching went well, with only a few small breaks when it was too wet. It was great to see all the caches in place and despite some of them being fun and tricky, the pre-mega puzzle solving effort was well rewarded.
The day ended with the Trivia event. I did not stay for the whole thing but those that5 did reported a great time.
Thanks.

A fun night out with my GeoChauffeur, Simbers & Gophers trying to answer the some of these impossible questions .
We finally made it in the last round with nearly perfect point.
Thanks for an entertaining night out CacheQld.

I said I was not going to do it, but when I was awake at 04:30, I changed my mind and set off for a mad day out.
This is type #12 on the way to 12. Woot! Made it. And I even stayed for part of the Trivia with a team that was short of players.
Great to catch up with a few more people that I had missed over the last two days.

Well I didn't actually register to stay and play but I did drop in to say hi to some caching friends that I haven't seen for ages. Hung round till kick off then hit the road for the Gold Coast.
Kind of wish I did stay now but then again the Easter Bunny is coming tonight.

We had a fun time at our table tonight.
We all contributed to answering the questions and we did alright.
But I think we'll have to watch a bit more Who wants to be a Millionaire so next time we can beat those smarties who won.
Thanks for the Event!

We have an extra honorary tough mother for trivia night so there will be 4 attending
We are here and it is about to begin so we are logging. There’s already great vibes, happy people and still smiling organizers. We’re excited we’re here!!!
Big day on. The CacheQld Dayboro Mega is happening. Planned on having a big day with 12 types to grab. Will give it our best shot. Thanks CacheQLD, for sharing this Event cache for our fun and enjoyment. I’m currently logging this so others think that i’m googling the answers to these trivia questions
Attended Trivia Night as a spectator as I thought I wouldn't be here at the end. I'm not very clever but still enjoy these Events. Excellent night for my first Mega. TFTE
After months of planning Mega day has finally arrived and its fair to say I’m a little excited. Normally I only wake before 7 for a flight or an FTF but I rose without the need of an alarm clock at 5:40am just like a kid on Christmas.
Down from Townsville with a list of 850+ corrected coordinates and many more targets for various challenges and loops with today’s being 12 types and find 5000.
This is number 12 for the day.
Thank you for a great event and bringing the community together. See you in Townsville ??
We somehow managed to score the most points (71) but then lost a tie breaker to a team who scored (70) ???????. I’m not sure which of those things is the most confusing.
Thanks CacheQLD for creating and placing this for us to enjoy.

First full day at the mega cruising around the area with a full car. Logging all caches with "team Gong gong". Great day out.

Enjoyed being an armchair participant of the event (voices from the gallery lol)! Great energy in the room and from the presenters. Fun night out at the Dayboro Mega. Thanks to the organisers! ???
Dinner drinks and trivia, a good night at the mega.
Might have gotten one or two questions right and a few wrong as well

Fabulous event. A few too many red wines and a very early flight from Sydney dampened my accuracy, but lots of fun.

Attended the beginning but didn't participate. Teams seemed well established and an odd sod wasnt required. Knowing the presenters I'm sure it would have been a great event.
Had a heap of fun at the trivia night tonight. Well run and organised, thank you!
Tft event, had a great night , confirmed that we don't know as much as we think we do.
Thanks hosts, and kudos to green geckos and tronodor for the few points we did get.

Thanks for a great night. We did not disgrace ourselves which is surprising. Had a lot of fun and some laughs. Great job by the quiz masters.
We had an awesome night... with entertaining hosts and just the right mix of brains and brawn in our team... And David, I won’t mention the prescription drug problem to another soul...
10024 Attended by baby&Mrs gopher in company with Simber15 and LilDonna . A great night of laughter competitiveness and fun as Team Mongrel. Thanks to CacheQLD and the announcers who conducted the game.
Finally, a real geocaching mission with an airplane flight, nights away, so many caches on the list and a road trip home! Flew up from CBR on 1 April with TikvaNZ to join Fox in Jox for a 5 day full-on mission centred around attending the Dayboro Mega event. Plan is to cache in around BNE, targeting old caches, virtuals, LBHs, Wherigos, DT combinations and anything else that takes our fancy and then start heading home Monday via as many counties as we can squeeze in. We have so many caches on the list we are unlikely to get them all, but we will try our best! Don’t care if it rains or snows - QLD here we come!
Had a great time at the trivia night, got nowhere but had a lot of fun doing it!
Thanks for the event cache !

Such a great well organised night. Lots and fun with the Tough Mothers, Herbz and Wolliston.
T-Tech and I are commuting to the CacheQLD MEGA every day, and thoroughly enjoying the weekend. Today we are planning on gathering 11 cache types, and this is #11. Wahoo!
T-Tech and I had dinner tonight in the hall while waiting for the start of this event, and I think he even assisted a little with the microphone set-up! We decided not to participate, but it was great to see a full house! TFTC, and hosting us all weekend, CacheQLD.

What a great evening and so many cachers attending in this horrible weather. We didn't fare too well in the trivia answers but had fun doing all the questions.

Thank you for the event, what a great time we all had. We believe that we learnt some interesting facts from this trivia night.
TFT Event,
One of the most interesting nights for me in a while.
Our team tried hard but came up with a 45 % result. Given anyone's standards, a fail.
