Short Trip Away Day #2 [24/11] of 3Day two of my holidays (and day #2 of 3 for my trip away) saw me having a slow start. I ate Bfast and then headed off to catch up with some non-geocaching and ex-geocaching friends at the Woden church. Along the way I stopped off quickly to find the final cache in the Under Athllon cache in the series which was the second cache of the three. After church and the catch up with my friends, I headed over to the arboretum for the lunchtime Geo-event. It was a great event with all talk Geo and yummy snag sandwiches. Next I headed down the hill to the lake to find some of the newer caches that has popped up recently, including a very unique AL. I then went up Black Mountain to find a couple of ALs and a bonus cache. From there I started making my way back to the motel but not before finding two more cache which has been on the to-find-list for far too long. I also quickly stopped off to get some dinner. TB visit. Some caches were signed as JM. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTE & TFTCs! I did the AL for this cache a while ago but never found the bonus due to timing. Today, I was driving past GZ for about the 100th time but unlike the last 99 times, I had plenty of time on my hand. So, I stopped off and parked the car in a spot which wasn't really legal and got out to find it. I found the cache quickly and soon it was signed plus replaced. I was in and out in about 3 minutes which was great because one came up and asked why I was parked/doing there. It's great to have finally gotten this one off the list. Thanks for the cache.
Found after a short search, right where I should have expected it to be in the first place. Enjoyed the art tour, this place is deserted on weekends, making access easy. Thanks for the cache charlotteleclerc
we looked and looked even with the spoilers in the logs we were unable to find this today!
Found with mogni. We came in to do the nearby virtual and neaby wherigo trail. Did the adventure lab since we were here. . quick find. Found with Mogni. Myself and mogni are headed off to canberra on the " I missed the Capital GeoBash Mega " holiday, since last minute family problems came in to play and we had to adjust our plans by a few weeks. On the way over we targeted multi's, wherigo's and puzzles to make sure we had 25 in each or at least close to that total ( or more ) as possible, getting as many new New South Wales LGA's as possible, the 17th most favourite point NSW cache and every cache size in New South Wales. In the ACT it was getting 2 of the 5 oldest letterboxes, oldest wherigo in Australia, 2nd oldest earthcache ( with a side trip to get the oldest earthcache of course ), and ACT oldest cache too. I also hosted a CITO and planned on getting every different cache type i could and eevry different cache size as well. I also needed 9 more virtuals this trip to get my virtual count over 100. Finally canberra was far enough away from from house to complete the well aged well travelled cacher 0 to 1000 kms with a cache every 10 km's ( i only need 7 more caches to complete )Leaving the ACT it was going via Victoria to get there last active web cam cache and slowly getting a total of 20 finds in each LGA i passed through if i had enough time plus also hosting a CITO in Victoria as well. A busy 11 days. Trust me by the end of the holiday you would have thought the 6 meter ladder weighed more than 13 kg's to amount of times it was used or carried up hills or over creeks. If your cache was found with a broken container/lid it was replaced or if the log was full it was replaced or a extra log if the container was big enough ( except for nano's, do your own maintenance on nano's.
Day 6 of mogni and sir_spectre visit the ACT. Today we left the ACT for a time and visited Batesman's Bay as there was an earthcache we both wanted to find. Of course before heading off we visited the Canberra Airport, and grabbed a few smilies. A long day, but great weather for being out and about. As per normal if a cache needed a bit of love, it got it. Many wet and smelly containers were replaced and lots of logsheets added today. Thanks to charlotteleclerc from mogni
Collected this AL and bonus while waiting to go to the airport for my flight. Workmen at GZ but they didnt take any notice of me while i hunted. TFTC and the AL.
In town for the GeoBash Mega, took advantage of quieter holiday traffic and muggles to complete the AL around the business precinct. Took longer than it should to locate cache at GZ but with no one around we had time, patience and persistence to add the bonus to the weekends tally.
Found It!Solved this one quite a while ago then today I finally got around to visiting the final location and finding it. Since it was a public holiday, there was no one else around here today which made for a quick and easy find!TFTC
A nice walk through looking at some cool artwork and even better watching the planes fly in. This will be one of our last caches in Canberra, as we know make our way slowly back home to Melbourne Thanks for the cache!
We found all the waypoints to the Adventure Lab and enjoyed the interesting artwork. After reading some previous logs, we were then able to quickly locate the bonus hide. TFTC
Construction took quite a bit to find. Coords were heading a different place.Woohoo. We worked for hours and hours on this series over months and months. It's great to finally be able to start finding these caches. Here for the Geobash. A year in the planning. Apologies for the cut and paste.Signed as TheRoos (Ryde Orange Orange Salem).Tftc
Knew it was hanging somewhere in there.Eventually we attracted the interest of workmen so needed to move on.
Day 2 camped at Canberra Park for the Mega EventThis morning doing some caches along the CBR series with the Snakepitters.A great morning out, it was good to have a driver that knew his way around the area.We did a variety of cache types, finishing the day at an event by the lake.Signed log as DIMERS. (DiMorgan/Snakepitters)Thanksfor placing this cache charlotteclerc
Out this morning doing some caches along the CBR series ith DiMorgan. A great morning had by all and the ocassional toot from a passing local. Di and Mr Snakepitters were dropped off to do the Ad lab and this virtual. We managed to get a park very close to GZ, luckily we knew the workers who were on the gate. Took a little while, but we zeroed in on the container.Sgned log as DIMERS.(DiMorgan/Snakepitters)fav point for the sculpturesTotal Caches Found 15639TFTC charlotteleclerc
Very excited to be here for my first Mega event from WA. Started early this morning to pick up meme28 and burns345 from the airport. They hit the ground running from an overnight flight straight out caching. My personal aim is to try and boost my numbers to hit my next milestone whilst here.Had to use stealth as its busy with construction workers. Meme28 made the find hereMany thanks charlotteleclerc for placing this hide for me to find and adding to my adventures. This will be my 7865 find.
Arriving early from WA for the GeoBash Mega, I caught up with Burns345 and geotrakka after a red eye flight to start caching Canberra. Log signed as WA5.Cache found with no issues. Cheers
That's some interesting art. Surprisingly busy around here at 7.30 am on the 27th of December. Thanks for the cache.
Completed this adventure lab a while ago now. Had a look for the final bonus cache then but didnt get my hands on it. Today we returned (airport pick up duty detour) and made a quick find. Glad to say this one is still all good despite the sudden increase in construction fencing nearby. Thanks for the lab + Bonus Wandering around to appreciate all the sculptures was an excellent use of an afternoon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
After a delightful tour of the art works in this area the tricky little cache was discovered in its devious hiding place.
The log was very tricky to return inside its container but was eventually replaced complete with my signature.
Thanks for the Ad Lab series and this bonus cache, and to my chauffeur Contesta today.

Clearing the needs maintenance. Many thanx to SocialClimber replacing the log for me.
Had a few hours to spare today at the airport and took the opportunity to complete the adventure lab, nice walk but GPSr often out by enough to make the questions appear in the wrong spots. We managed nonetheless and soon we had GZ for this visited. It took a while to find the hiding place, just too many options to check; eventually, we got there and happy to log our first ACT mystery! I started the associated AL a couple of weeks ago when I had to meet someone at Brindabella Park - got two of the points, then ran out of time. Stole an hour or so for myself this afternoon and came by to finish it off.
Always nice to see art incorporated into public spaces, and the Canberra Airport Group have done it well (in my humble opinion).
Thanks for the AL, and for this bonus cache, Charlotteleclerc!

Managed to make a quick find here. Curiously there was no logsheet! Signed our name on a leaf instead and added this to the cache. Tftc and the stroll around the artworks
Nope cache blindness must have me today. Checked all the near to reference points in GZ but no luck. I'll be back
I called past to pick up this AL bonus today after finishing the Adventure quite a while ago. It took me a while to hunt it down though previous logs helped in the end. Cool AL and hide. Thanks for hiding this cache charlotteleclerc for me and others to find.
Cache 9014 on 13 Jun 2022.
I wanted to grab a mystery cache today for a personal challenge, and this one was near the airport, which was perfect for me, as I am travelling for work today. I was very glad to see the log by SDL saying it was available, so I swung by on my way and had a search.
I had a little trouble locating it, but spotted it when reading a previous log, and realising it would be near a recognizable point. Signed in a random vacant spot, but the log is full.
Thanks charlotteleclerc for the AL, bonus cache and the fun!

Seems the cache is accessible once again. Huzzah! Will replace the log when back in CBR after Qbday long weekend.
#14732 - 09:30; At the airport with Sol de lune and dropped by to collect this cache. Despite construction in the general area, the cache is safe and sound and easily accessible without entering any of the fenced areas. Added my name in the last spot on the log, which is now full. TFTC charlotteleclerc
I will be archiving this bonus cache to the AL. Just need to go and retrieve and to adjust the AL narrative.
Just disabling for a short while as there is construction work at gz, and it is currently fenced off.
I am in a mission to get to my next milestone of 4,000 finds so AL's were the way to go. I work at Brindabella Park so a nice leisurely walk at lunch time, I got past some of these statues to grab a excellent coffee at Cafe Avion so knew where to go.
Finally got all the info and solved the puzzle. Lots of fencing here and quardened off, a go ahead to log from CO Thanks Maxine for the adventure and cache, giving you a favourite point, now will have to do the virtual here soon

Working in BBP this week, the labs and this bonus cache were added to the must do list. I did the labs walk yesterday morning as I tend to get up early and be at work before most other people. Not an issue until you need someone to let you in of course...
So, with the labs complete and the necessary info used to identify the location of this one, I made use of my early start today and pulled up at GZ. Out of the car, it took a while to track this one down as I was focussed on the wrong side. With no cache to show for my efforts, I widened the search and in a slightly different location, spotted the little blighter. [^]
Out with the log, I added my name and returned verything as found. Right, guess it's time for work.
Cheers charlotteleclerc.

Had done the Adventure Lab some time ago- maybe last year? and today whilst driving past stopped in for the final. Didn't take too long in a likely spot. TFTC!
Found by Mary and David at 09:20. Our indicated GZ was only a couple of metres off, but that was enough to mean searching many wrong places, and for M to start wanting to give up on it. We then figured that the cache was likely to be close to some recognisable reference point. We adjusted out search location accordingly, and then found the slippery little sucker quickly. Some of the sculptures we loved, and some less so. A FP for this and the series. Only room for one more log. Our thanks to charlotteleclerc.
Wow love it around for LAB, before on way airport to home Tasmania.. enjoyed some caches area nearly airport..

Tftc , our second day in ACT, cherry picking caches that we need for challenges, D/T, or type / size.
Plenty of solved mysteries also to pick up.
Multis to do... We must be in Canberra.
Enjoyed the lab, spotted it after a short search

Out for an early morning ride along the Majura bike path to pick the caches that have been placed since my last visit a couple of years ago. After finishing there I cycled over to this one started the search. Took a good while to spot it the little bugger, but spot it I did and all was good. Log signed cache replaced and I was back to where my car was parked.
Thanks charlotteleclerc....neat AL which I completed a few months ago.

I needed a puzzle today and despite being so, so very close earlier, I was working. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't!
All good though and made the return trip a little later. A nice straightforward and easy to navigate AL with a quick find at GZ. Weekend parking is the way to go and great to see an AL in here highlighting the sculptures... I love the huge blobby moving one by the entrance!
Thanks for the AL and bonus cache!

Took a long search mainly because I went to uncorrected co-ords and searched. Once I realised this mistake I went to the corrected co-ords and searched. Just found and returned the log as the wife rang to pick her up from the airport. TFTC.
Our second attempt on a quieter day but no luck. The logs did not seem reassuring. Seemed a bit of a needle in a haystack!
Found on a cold an wet day with Blueiris. Signed the logbook dsd thanks for the cache and the adventure.
Caching out around Majura and surrounds on super wet and miserable day, so why not cache! Decided to do this AL after dark while it’s nice and quiet and maybe not as conspicuous
Grateful thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining the caches that continue to entertain me on my caching journey.

This weekend from 17-21/06/2021, I joined georode and gridge98 in visiting our nation's capital, Canberra for geocaching adventures. We prioritised the higher difficulty-terrain combinations, as well as the more special/unique cache types.
On Thursday, I largely spent the day solo and visited Black Hill lookout, the Botanic Gardens, Australian National University and nearby Canberra Central, and then gridge98 and I walked around the front of Parliament area in Parkes.
Friday was spent completing a few hikes in Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve and Kowen Escarpment Nature Reserve, before then meeting locals at a Friday evening dinner event.
Saturday was predominantly the UFO series in Bullen Range Conservation Reserve, targeting the higher terrain ridge area.
On Sunday, we arose to the morning's CITO event, before returning to Goorooyarroo Reserve for more walking around those hills.
Finally on Monday, gridge98 and I headed north to Yass for the Birds of Australia Wherigo series, a few climbing caches, and returning to ACT completing the UGC series.
Today, I took ownership of our rental car, with my aim of heading to the lower Black Mountain challenges. However, I was lured by the virtual cache at the top of the mountain, and so that became my first stop. A short jog around the hill, and then great views at the top of Telstra Tower.
My next visit was the Australian National Botanic Gardens, completing the *Australia's Garden* and *The Rainforest Walk* Adventure Labs. It was then on to the challenges around lower Black Mountain, spending a few hours walking around before the rain fell later in the afternoon.
My afternoon was then spent touring around Australian National University whilst following a few more Adventure Labs: *ANU*, *Everyone's a critic!* and *What's in a name?*. I then had a walk in downtown Canberra and visited Glebe Park completing that *Glebe Park Wander* Adventure Lab.
After dinner, gridge98 was grabbed from the airport, and we explored some of Parkes in front of Parliament House. A few more virtual, wherigos and Adventure Labs were completed, and we made one last stop at the National Carillon.
I enjoyed this Adventure Lab studying the various artwork and sculptures, and spent the time whilst waiting for my friend to arrive from the airport nearby.
I then made the drive to this location, parking nearby, and having a search. I initially searched one area, and couldn't find anything too suspicious cache-related. I tried another approach, and luckily, I caught sight of the cache container nicely hidden away. It wasn't the most logical access, and the geocache's difficulty of 1.5 felt a little underrated. Otherwise, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. I suspect my green stamp won’t last too long as it gets rubbed away, so refer to an additional photo attached. Thanks charlotteleclerc for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Walked a bit further to go and pick up the bonus. Thanks for the AL and the cache.
Gah! I don't know whether to up the difficulty, leave it as is... or what? I do know there has been a metal barrier put in place to stop peeps walking thru the shrubbery, since I placed the cache. It was never attributed as wheelchair accessible. I may end up moving the bonus cache, so that it is not behind the metal barrier... remember it is but a bonus.
I completed the AL quite some time ago but wasn’t able to spot the bonus. Today I returned to enjoy the empty GZ and the fast find. TFTH
We enjoyed our wander through the Brindabella Business Park looking at the sculptures. After visiting the 5 locations, we were able to calculate the coordinates for this bonus cache. We went to look for the cache but after 40 minutes of searching, we had to admit defeat, albeit in the short term. We returned after 7pm hoping that by searching with torches, we might get a reflection off the cache which we did not get during the daylight. After 20 minutes we were about to call it quits when one of us saw an interesting shadow. Closer investigation revealed the cache, but it was 7m from the calculated coordinates. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks charlotteleclerc for an interesting Adventure Lab and thanks for the bonus cache.
That was an interesting adventure in the dark. The first bit was easy enough, a nice stroll through the park collecting info and looking at the beautiful sculptures. Some road crossings took a while as a plane had recently landed, but we got everything in the end. Worked out coords for the Bonus AL and headed off. A 1.5/1.5 so how hard could it be??? Got to the general area and it was well dark by then. Started to search and the minute our backs were turned to the road, people appeared from out of nowhere! A number of them wanted to help us search, thinking we had lost keys. One lady got excited when she thought we had found elusive Pokemon, and then wanted to help us after we had explained the game. Maybe she will look itnup, maybe not. However she soon gave up the search and went home. Eventually we widened our search parameters and spotted this tricky wee hide. Thankfully. Log was harder to get out, but all 3 names were signed in due course. TFTAL, TFTC and TFTH.
Out for an evening of caching with nibletricecakes, onieferret and GLISS! TFTC

A thorougher hunt by torchlight brought up the goods. Great to be out caching on our regular Wednesday night adventure. Lots of fun with onieferret, K8TYBEE and GLISS! Thanks for the great adventure and thanks for the cache.
After completing the required Adventure Lab with GLISS!, Nibletricecakes and K8tybee we worked out the final and found the bonus. Thank you for the lab and cache,

Sorry, we weren't able to find this after enjoying a walk around this well set out business park.
Quick find after finishing the AL, which I started a few weeks ago when waiting for my plane. Did the last two stages today.

I took a trip to Canberra to complete 'The Science of Discovery' souvenir campaign. Lots of Adventure Labs experiences and a handful of older caches made this a very successful day outdoors. Thanks to all Cache Owners for their contribution to this recreational activity.
Needed a break from uni this Easter Monday so I decided to do a gentle AL. My full log for the AL is as written on the lab itself, but I loved the wander through the area and I especially loved The Bathers sculpture (mostly due to the fountain). At GZ, I used previous logs and cacher instinct to have the cache found within a few minutes: definitely a cunning hide! I realised when I arrived in the area though that I left my pen at home, so I hope you don't mind but I'll message you photos of the cache in its environment as proof (I hope this suffices, but please let me know if it doesn't). TFTC charlotteleclerc!
Well... that is a rather rude assessment on the dnf by Hurtle... it is after all a "bonus" cache to the AL.
Well that was disappointing..
To go to so many lovely spots with the labs, only to end up searching for a micro in a bush.
Only spent 5 minutes looking for this 1.5/1.5 as many others to find...

You are right... it is only a bonus, to labs that I enjoyed doing..
Maybe you can take it as constructive criticism for future hides...
So many places something bigger could be hidden.
Btw... I not the only one mentioning time to find... maybe the D/T should reflect that too?
PS... amending your log to specifically name and shame me is funny... lol

I picked up buhfuhguh from the airport to start our trip to the Dayboro Mega Event in QLD, and we decided to do this Adventure Lab before heading off to get him his first AL in ACT, and his first mystery too!
We did the first few waypoints on foot, then drove a bit closer to the last couple, before heading off to this final! We tried to park close by, but got told off that the carpark was closed. So headed back across the road and found another park. Took us 5 minutes to locate the small cache, but spotted it eventually thanks to good coordinates.
Great location for an AL! Many thanks

Day One of my Dayboro Trip with Loci612. With my landing at the airport from a rather long time stuck in my own state of Victoria. With my eyes set on collecting as many LGA's, types and interesting D/T's as I can.
With a whole week ahead of me of caching and driving I was keen to smash some caches out in Canberra before Loci and I headed off. Thanks for the cache and the little adventure.

Day 2 of the Canberra adventure. After being overly ambitious yesterday, we reset our plans for today. The CBR GeoArt was the main target with a handful of high value caches to go with them.
The lab was easy to complete at night as this area was devoid of people. I began the look for the bonus and soon discovered this might take a long time. Fortunately I looked at my second location from the right angle and spotted the cache. It took me almost as long to get the log out however - I’m not sure how the tool inside was supposed to help but it was very difficult to obtain. In the end the log was signed and the lab + bonus complete!
Thanks charlotteleclerc for the cache.

Today was a trip down south to get a few caches for my day count a bit further away from home. Great to get another cache all the way down here in light rain. After some shopping I did the Bindabella Pk Lab Series and then had a go at this . quite a challenge, made even harder by being led a few meters in the wrong direction. With a hint and a bit of cache sense I found it in a reasonable location.
Thanks for the cache charlotteleclerc

We completed the Adventure Lab this morning but certainly didn't time looking for this cache very well as we had a continual stream of cars and muggles so only had a cursory look.
We will try again on our next visit

Caching before work to top up my find numbers for the day, focusing on lab caches. After visiting the various interesting sculptures, I dropped by GZ. It took a few minutes to locate. TFTC.

Tankeinge and I were going to do this one previously, but got distracted.
So today we thought that the rainy day would be good. Well it was for the AL part of it. I liked the AL.
Unfortunately the tricky hide - especially in the rain - ended up making us paf. It was where we thought it should be, just couldn’t see it when it was wet and shiny like all the leaves. We got pretty wet, but it was a good cache. Tftc!!!

Chooo ooo [found] - in the rain - got soaked with Dty73 - Thanks charlotteleclerc!
Called past here this evening after work and thought we were going to get really wet with the black clouds overhead. But GZ ended up being very sheltered so it wasn't too bad.
Lab was very enjoyable, we have both worked in this area over time so had already admired some of the art work around here.
Took a bit of searching at GZ before coming up with the goods.
Thanks for the tour and bonus final charlotteleclerc

Enjoyed the art which I viewed yesterday. Returned today for the bonus which was a quick find in a deserted Business Park. Certainly the weekend is a good time to do this AL, particularly during Covid when there are virtually no flights either.
Surprisingly peaceful and scenic round here and really enjoyed the the stroll. Thanks for placing this AL charlotteleclerc.

An AL in a familiar place in beautiful gardens. Loved the sculptures from start to finish. Thanks for the lovely stroll. GZ was out by 3m and an expanded search revealed the prize. TFTC charlotteleclerc.
Nice AL with many beaut art pieces to observe and read at locations. Many involving tranquil water features .Great place for someone to work .Outlook is always nice.
Had seen all the sculptures before except the 2 ladies in the pond section .
Nicely set out and a final GZ that is head scratching and will elude plenty to follow .
Many thanks for the well set out tour .

Found as a bonus for the AL Bonus Brindabella Business Park Art cache.
A relaxed walk around the park, no muggles about on a Sunday morning. Details were gathered at each WP and GZ easily calculated. Had a little trouble extracting the log but once signed it was quickly replaced. A casual walk back to the geomobile, with it being sunny and warm the shady aisles were most welcomed, as were the numerous running fountains scattered about here and there. Reminded me a little of SE Asia. TNLNSL TFTC

Joint FTF with Flintstones at 7pm.
The younger GeoKid and I popped over to the airport precinct this evening to look at the sculptures. Saturday night was nice and quiet - although lots of AFP patrols around here, luckily we didn't look too dodgy - and we had no trouble sourcing the answers to the AL.
Arriving at the last point we met up with Flintstones who was already searching for the bonus location. A quick confirmation that we had the same GZ calculated and we wandered back to resume the search. While I was still trying to get the correct waypoint into my phone the sharp eyes of the younger GeoKid had already located the cache.
This was a fun AL and highlighted some lovely pieces of public art. A very nicely constructed lab and highlighted some things we hadn't seen before. Thanks, charlotteleclerc - very enjoyable.
