After a detour to a FTF, Brislions, CuriousQuest and I headed to this CITO. A really good turn out! Lots of fun and laughs catching up with some cachers we hadn't seen for a while. A few caches found along the way. TFTC
Finally catching up on doing some logging I had been looking after my grandson for the weekend and as I needed to return him to the Sunshine Coast, I decided to add in the CITO Event while I was up that way. It was quite a hot day and while my grandson didn't mind looking for refundable cans and bottles, he was soon bored and wanted to go home [B)] At least we contributed a little to the clean up and even managed to find a cache
Thank you dahumbug for organising the CITO event

We might have been a bit late for the start of this CITO mainly because I had my watch strapped on upside down and it’s a digital one. We parked up near the pool and actually found some trash as soon as we got out. We’ve been to some CITOs where the only trash we had found was a mentos wrapper so we bagged that straight away.
Our next piece of rubbish was discovered at the posted coordinates and were some gloves that must have been left around by the group.
We could see that the banks of the creek had been scrubbed clean and were given a description of the crowd by a local that had witnessed it all. He couldn’t believe we had come all the way from Redcliffe to Nambour just to pick up rubbish. When I told him that Nambour was the centre of the trash globe he seemed appreciative. tftc

Up from Brisbane with hatzofff, GrannySmith1947, Snickersallan and RoddyC to help with this CITO and grab some caches in the area. Managed to find some bottles and litter from around the park. Great to catch up with all who attended.

Quick and easy find. Found with lots of rubbish. Used my electric scooter as my green machine.
With work getting in the way of today's event, I managed to get in early and do a bit of cleaning up. There was a bit of take away litter around and I managed to fill half a bag.
Thanks very much for organising, we need more CITO and it's great to see a few more getting published.

I came, I saw, I collected some trash and made a coffee... Great turn out and event. Good to see a lot of familiar names and faces.
Took a couple of photos, including this one with the nicest CO, who taught us about tree fishing, helped us with a joint FTF (FTF) [FTF] on this cache and a brand new one he's putting out soon. We cleaned up a homeless person camp (which I found as a moral dilemma) then walked to a mystery which I would have been happy to climb the tree but I have thick motorcycle pants on. Next time.
Unfortunately rest of rubbish that was at site flowed down the creek..
Currently sit in Macca's log this Cito as very hot outside.

Attended with Dora the Explorer! Managed to get a bag of rubbish. I good to see a few familiar faces.
Wow what a group who attended nice to do some work for the environment and pick up a couple of caches as well. Tftevent
Arrived and spent an hour walking meeting talking and collecting a bag of rubbish along the way, That done - it was off with the others to collect a couple or three of the higher terrain caches without having to do much as the Host Did all the work demonstrating how to use a Fishing pole and monkey across the tree tops. An Exciting Event ! Thanks Cleaning Bug for Hosting ??????
Got there just after 10 & saw a bunch of people heading off along the track so hurried to catch up. Spotted a few familiar faces early on (I think some were already heading off having had an earlier start), & started looking for rubbish but not too much to find (maybe because others were already ahead). Soon came across some tree fishers, so we stopped to see how it was done, not having had the chance to see this sort of geocaching action before. Nice to meet some new faces. After observing an impressive cache retrieval, JACS Team offered us the chance to return it using their TOTT and so claim a find as well. I managed to do it! Very exciting - first tree fishing experience! (we also managed to retrieve another one down later turning up at the right time again to borrow a pole). We continued along the path along Petrie creek, finding a few dog poo bags & random small things to fill our rubbish bags. Although having spent a lot of time in Nambour (mostly at work) we hadn't actually walked the whole length of this track before. It was quite nice & peaceful - it should be promoted more as a feature of the town to attract locals to discover the outdoors on their doorstep. On the way back, we did some train spotting with the model train guys having a play day. Those trains are so cute! We bumped into another big bunch of cachers here with another tree fishing opportunity. It was also interesting to see the CO place a new one in a precarious spot & watch some expert or was it crazy (?) tree climbing further along the track.
Lots of firsts today: 1st official CITO event, 1st tree fishing experience, 1st full walk along the Petrie Creek track.
Thanks dahumbug for getting us all together to help clean up this area & another great opportunity to meet new cachers & catch up with the locals we already know.

Really enjoy taking part in these well attended CITO events, managed a couple of bags, one full from the Maroochy river/creek area after our early morning paddle.

I love a good CITO and this is my 25th! Wandered along the creek with Vik, King Lizard and Imbunda we each filled a bag with KL making a much larger find that he dragged back to the bin. Thanks for the CITO Bug and the opportunity to score GC8NEAT so early on as well.
Great day attending this CITO as I haven't cached in this area before, there wasn't much rubbish about which is a good thing too but we all seemed to get a bit on this super hot day. Some great Tree fishing was also done while attending the Event. Thanks to The Cleaning Bug for organising
Came a bit late sorry, as I needed to eat and get changed after a morning on the water. Still had plenty of time to collect a bit of rubbish (a bucket and a few cans) and catch up with some other cachers. What a great turn out! And what a great clean up of a waterway that unfortunately gets clogged with lots of trash. Heaps was removed by everyone, an awesome effort. Many many thanks for organising this event Bug, and for releasing the nearby caches for us all to enjoy afterwards.
Well, it's been a while since I have attended an event. I'm really glad I made the effort to turn up. It was good to catch up with everyone again. I picked up a small bag of rubbish, walked with the crowd to a couple of caches before heading home. Thanks for putting the event on Bug! I enjoyed it!
There wasn’t a whole lot of rubbish around but we all manage to put a bit in our bags. Someone somewhere is missing a couple of bourbon glasses. Thanks for the event
Thanks for hosting this CITO Event, dahumbug. I’ve seen your name around lots regarding cool caches so it was nice to finally meet you. We filled the available bins which was good to see.
Cheers

A day caching with RoddyC, Snickersallan, patrol14, Grannysmith1947 picking up some smiles in the area.
Thank you for having a CITO in February. It has been a long draught since there were too many CITOs.

Turned up early with Mr Wesso and after a bit of caching, collecting rubbish and a chin wag we had to depart. Great to catch up with some old friends and good to meet others and put faces to names.
Thanks for the fun cleaning bug
I took along some trackables for a visit.

Just confirming CITO is still on.

It’s always nice to find an event that has been organised with people that sleep-in taken into account. I think events should be made illegal if they occur before 11am so I will be attending to make my time protest known
