With such a beautiful, sunny, winters day, I decided to take off on my bike and complete the PATOG power trail. I have been working my way along it and hopefully today I will complete it.So after disembarking the train I jumped on my bike and headed west!TFTC equipe de cinqKeep smiling
Parked my vehicle on Globe Derby Drive near the trotting track and did another section of the PATOG series. All caches in good condition, unless mention otherwise in the log. TFTC
Do folks know that the Port Adelaide Visitor Information Centre rents bikes for free? All you have to do is leave an ID and verify your phone number. How awesome is that?I biked about 32 kms out and back, and found the first 37 caches in the series. Which means I got to Salisbury ish. Enjoyed it! But am continually amazed that the wind is always blowing against me no matter what direction I am biking.TFTC!
Fellow Geo-finders, if aling your trail between here and cache number #28 come cross a set of keys between the path/scrub and roadway. Pink key cover and roughly 6 keys on it. Belongs to Miss. B.
Joined the gang... travellinbees, birthday gal - locus cache, allister w, James0116 and GTA, always fun caching in a group. Made somewhat of a dent in this PATOG trail. Slowly whittling away at the start and end, eventually I'll get that chunk in the middle done too.Only 30ish finds today... can't have the birthday girl t(y)red out before her big event this evening TFTC
Out for the day celebrating all things fun!
With our birthday girl turning a special number we all agreed what a nice way to celebrate her day.
We all met at Mrs bee's house before we flew to the starting point. We loaded cars with bikes and we headed off. There was a motley variety of bikes, some small, some tall, some powered, and most not!
Mrs Bee wanted to fly but apparently she needed to ride along this trail as GTA (Gabe The Angel) had energy to burn!! A lot of energy to burn..
LocusCache was the moving motivator jibing the youngest of our group that is she could do it at her age, so could he.
Sharing the load to collect that caches between GTA & James0116, we needed James height with some of the hides.
LiB was a super scouter pointing GTA to the correct spot, allisterw was happy to race the smallest of our group in the hope he got tired... he did not..
TFTC now we go to eat cake!!

Was having a good bike ride today until I got a puncture at Salisbury. Before that, though, I collected a few more of the PATOG series - all caches were right where they should have been and in good condition. TFTC
Time to dust off the old bike and continue caching south from where we left off last time. The old crew was here: Csaba!, SupaOrange & SupaTurtle. We estimated that 34 caches would take us about 2 hours and we weren't far off.
A great day on the bike track.
Thanks, equip de cing.

All caches were found relatively quickly with Malco!, Casba! and SupaTurtle. Tra La Laaaa
Bitten by mozzies, chain came off the bike and the smell was pretty bad. I still had a fun day finding caches. Turtle Out
Organised a caching afternoon with the Supa's and Malco!. 34 to 1 in the series was done today. Thanks
After walking the Gawler end for a few it was time to catch up with Mattycat to tackle the start end, with bikes unavailable it was foot power, we managed to walk from Globe Derby to Port Adelaide caches 32 to 001, a little over 16 km was completed this afternoon, two were found on the ground in the grass one quite damp log but they were placed as per the hint suggested but otherwise all caches were found in good order

The little caches were pretty easy to locate today and in good condition.
A couple were found on the ground in the weeds and were a little damp!
Appreciate equipe de cinq hiding this cache on our SA geo map game board
--- and here's the spin...
Geocaches are located and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck!
---
Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins... but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]
Make sure Travel Bugs are the only bugs you share and pass on
We really appreciate all those placing quality caches out and about especially away from the city crowds,
it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting

On a lovely ride with brisal5, thewhitedoggang and Featherwaite, signing the log sheets with the acronym BAWF. There was barely any wind and no rain. A perfect day for a ride and cache. [^]

GENERIC LOGS FOR PATOG series! [8)][8)][8)]
Time to attack the PATOG series. [^] So the calls were made to find a group to take on the ride and a group of brisal5, Astro, WhiteDogGang and Featherwaite were available. So the acronym BAWF was formed to sign the logs. We chose Tuesday 8/6/2021 to make the ride but the forecast of a thunderstorm, continuous rain and howling winds caused the newly formed BAWF to balk and we delayed until Friday 11/6/21! [B)][B)] What a great day for a ride, overcast, a nice cool breeze and not a drop of rain to be felt. All caches were found in good condition except, one that needed a new cap (done) and one that needed replacing. (also done) Great day had but I felt like BAWFing by the end! [:o)][:o)][:o)][:o)]
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks equipe de cinq for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

First for the day and it's always good to start with a find .
Decided to knock this series over, considering it was another nice day for a walk . First time covering this part of the track and found lots of interesting things to see along the way .
Crawled through the fence to retrieve this one . TNLNSL.

Claiming a cache find as part of the awesome beta testing cache placing crew for this super fun cycling series. All of the PATOG caches in the series have been found many times so our work must have been good. Kudos to anyone who does the full end to end ride in one session and collects them all. If you run it or walk it then you get extra bonus kudos.
Eventually some time in the future when the rail access is restored to Gawler it will be possible to catch the train to Port Adelaide, ride with the wind to Gawler, and catch the electric train home. From Patog one to Patog eleventy first. That would be awesome.

Set out today aiming to find the 54 required to finish off the newish PATOG series. Decided to tackle the high terrain one first so parked as close as I could legally and set off with the required TOTT. Was able to spot from the ground so it was a reasonably quick job of getting my stamp in the log. Left as found.
Back to the car and after chatting to some nearby muggles decided to leave if there and set off on the ebike. Returned a few hours later with 47K on the odometer, the series completed and even a BFE bonus cache.
Now that I've had the recreation it's time to head home for the rest.
Thanks to equipe de cinq and all involved in getting this series out and placing this cache here for me to find

Out for a long bike ride with Uni and Medusa along the Northen Expressway and beyond. We parked a vehicle at each end and took the mountain bikes along the trails - 48.9kms and 115 caches in around 5 hours.
The bike trail allows one to see a lot more at 20kmh than whizzing past in a car at 110kmh. There is interesting WWII history in amongst the market gardens and salt flats. I really enjoyed the massive redgums and lushness around the Gawler River. On a hot day one would want to take plenty of water, there isn't a lot of shade or facilities along some of the stretches.
This cache was found at 9:08:00 AM and was 27 of 102 finds today.
Apologies for the generic log but it is a powertrail. Thanks equipe de cinq

Today once the rain finished I headed out for a big walk on the bike path near the salt pans to collect the next section on the PATOG trail. Another 15 collected and 11kms walked.
It was pretty windy which meant the walk towards PA was pretty hard going, but the walk back towards the car was great. Listened to All Request Friday my favourite UK radio show which was super walking music.
All caches safely found although a few along the way are already showing the salty effects with the tape coming away from the tubes may need some maintenance soon. Glad I had brought my handy tick with me for the higher up ones.
Was passed by 4 bikes and a man on an electric skate board.
TFTC and series still a big walk to go to Gawler.

Getting my weekly dose of PATOG. Logs starting to fill up a bit now, good to see. Freeway is noisy but the bike path is quiet.
I grew up on the banks of Dry Creek in Modbury, so this was an interesting spot for me. I imagine this is the furthest downstream you can access on foot.

Out today to explore the PATOG bike path and find some caches! Signed the log. Thank you for taking the time and effort to place this series, as it makes the path even more interesting (as well as boosting my smiley count!).
A group of us(JJ52, mogni, Sir Spectre, Azzo7777 and Dad, Tallbikestan and I) decided to do this series. We started at number 1 at 8:30am and finished the series at 1:30pm with a few other caches along the way. TFTC equipe de cinq
A big day out was planned with allister w, sir_spectre, mogni, azzo7777 and tallbikestan to tackle the PATOG series and give my new ebike a good workout. [^]
We started early from #1 leaving cars there and then were picked up at the end. It was a fun, but very tiring day and we managed to find all the caches quickly except for a couple that required extra effort.
Thanks for the cache and series equipe de cinq.

Out with Tallbikestan, allister w, JJ52, azzo and mogni. Todays target was to do all of the PATOG Series using bikes or power assisted bikes. Getting dropped off at one end and getting picked up at the other end. The only problem we had was the one cache that needed a ladder, Tallbikestan's bike was just too short by about 1/2 foot. Easy found with the ladder deployed. i never got to complete the last bike trail, i only ended up finding about 11 of them. We even had a lunch break about 3/4 down the trail. A fun but tiring day out.
A big day out with sir_spectre, Allister W, JJ52, tallbikestan and azzo (and his Dad). Today we tackled the PATOG series and all caches were found, only a couple took more than a few seconds.

Staying at Gawler Gateway, we noticed this recently published series. Mr F wanted to tackle this series so a plan was made to attempt before the coming week of hot weather. Mrs F dropped Mr F and his trusty steed off at the cycleway, for him to head south before turning around at 001 and returning to complete 88 for today. . A big days cycling, some wetlands, and a few shady areas to return sunburnt. Alas not wearing climbing boots so at least 1 DNA (did not attempt for the day)

There had been discussions between Freddo, Davidwazza and myself to place this series for quite some time but never got around to it till the other day. Finally we set off from Gawler and made our way to Port Adelaide riding the full 49km and enjoying the path as we went. Placing bee caches and removing the old series. A great day out despite the rain to start us off. I hope people enjoy the new series and a lengthy bike riding series.

Silver for the grumpster at 8.25am. Hard to refuse this series when the weather is so un-summer. I started this morning before 7am on the Port Adelaide end, and marched through to the 111th in what was a personal achievement. Thanks for the cache and series.

Today, I had organised with Freddo and gridge98 to ride the Northern Expressway bikeway to complete the *Nexy Challenge* series geocaches. We rode the full distance, and then in the afternoon, jesswrigley and I visited the south-eastern end of Cleland Conservation Park and took a few walks around the area. The day began cold spitting a little, but towards the afternoon, it turned out to become quite warm and not too hot; almost the perfect day to be outside and hiking.
Freddo, gridge98 and I had set off early to complete and collect the *Nexy Challenge* series, and concurrently, we stealthily placed the new version 3 series: the **PATOG** Port Adelaide to Gawler series. A discussion was had 6-9 months previously about arranging a day, and with my time running out of Adelaide, it turned out that Australia Day became our collective free day. Magnets were purchased, and cache containers were prepared. However, we ran into a problem early, as our plan to use magnets was thwarted when the sign poles were aluminum, not steel. Who would have thought that the frog's kryptonite would be metallurgy today? Nevertheless, alternative hiding places were found, and the series was rolled out. It was a significant session riding the 49 km, but at least they are now available for the community to find. Thanks equipe de cinq for the ongoing maintenance of this series, and hoping that this version can last longer than the previous two.
Note that this geocache was beta tested on 26/01/2021.
