Three weeks on, it's time to say goodbye to this event, and look forwards to Q2.
About 60 people, about 600 metres of the creek and about 600 kilograms of rubbish cleaned here. That's a thank-you to everyone who came along to donate some time and energy to a cleaner world!

A very clean area, made a little cleaner by us all! A lovely morning to explore this new area for us! TFTC!
What a morning for cleaning the area, after meeting at GZ and grabbing bags for collection rubbish the group dispersed and began collecting the rubbish. I made my way with MinnieMoo to an area and soon had the bag filling up by the second.
We came across I questionable item and recruited Crew153 and his non-working grabber tool help us.
With that now in the bag we made our way fruther along the creek to see Ponchoman11 and Bulldozer72 finalising the removal of the street sign pole from the creek and got to enjoy the site of the water pouring out one end into Bulldozer's boot.
On our way back to GZ with our full bag of rubbish MinnieMoo and I stopped and grabbed a heavier item that we had past on our up the creek.
After everyone returned to GZ the CO handed out some prizes, where I was robbed of my prize for guessing my own number for the draw.
Looking forward to doing more cleans over the year

After a visit to the Sunshine Coast overnight to attend a birthday party, I manage to leave early enough to make it back in time for the CITO event. Way too early though for my wife and daughter who were still tucked up in bed and who would drive back later on their own.
My pre trip planning was not thorough enough to remember to pack my extendy-grabby-picker-upperer for today so I had to rough it and actually bend down to grab any rubbish we came across.
An eclectic collection of trash in the end but pleasantly surprised there was not more for us to find here today. TFTC

My first CITO event and I hope to do more when and where I can. Happy to try and jump into more creeks where needed but will need to remember to get my gumboots out before attempting it again.
I really believe there just isn't ever enough honest clean-up activity in this world. I'll always volunteer a bit of time, sweat and occasionally blood to ensuring human detritus doesn't wind up being the problem of the worlds (and our) ecosystems. With this park close to home receiving some love, I had visited a lot and been saddened at the amount of rubbish that is present. What better excuse to hold a CITO and do some honest cleaning?
But such a good cause calls for some support around. Logan City Council were quickly on board with permissions, risk-management and agreement to remove the rubbish. Local cafe Extraction were also on board with a load of coffee vouchers. All Things Geo took minimal convincing to offer some prizes for the hardcore-est CITO-ers. And Ocean Crusaders always support cleaning any waterway, so supplied some equipment.
That was really it, a few emails and phone calls to organise the event. Only issue was, with so many people logging their 'Will Attend's, I was worried each person would only have a handful of junk from the park. The bulk bag I wanted full surely would be ambitiously optimistic.
As the day neared, the weather threatened, but sun shone as everyone arrived, was briefed and scattered into the park. A humid, sweaty day sure, but quickly full bags came back. I did a quick run to do bag swaps and helped out pulling bigger items out of the creek. I was knee-deep at one point, but so happy to be joined by other CITO-tragics!
Well, the bags kept coming. The bulk bag was filled, the tyres piled up and I was thrilled at the outcome. Also, slightly horrified at how much rubbish as hiding. And proud that folks had gone diving into trees, long grass and the creek to collect it.
Prizes were handed out, coffee vouchers spread and that was the end of this CITO. I tried to chat to as many folks as possible, but with so many; it can be hard. I was again grateful for the folks who helped pack up. I snapped some photos of the pile left behind, perhaps 500kg worth, and the council had it collected in a truck within 24 hours.
Just 12 hours after the event, the promised rains arrived and the creek flooded. 500kg of rubbish that isn't making it into the marine ecosystems. That's something to be proud of, and feel accomplished for. I'm excited for the next Quarterly Clean-Up. Thank you all who attended, gave some time, sweat and passion to this CITO

Well here's an area I haven't set foot in. I'm usually driving past panicking about which lane to be in.
1MinnieMoo and I turned up to find an excellent turnout today. I very glad to see some friends I had not seen in many months and years. Crew 153 was my main partner in crime and we picked up our fair share of cr*p. ponchomon11 did well bringing in the front end of some type of Nissan.
It was a mighty haul that we managed to collate - and we have the weather gods to thank for holding off the rain that came later.
Look forward to the other CITOs in this series. TFT CITO Captain Terror

A late change in schedule meant I was free to come along to the CITO. As with any event done by the captain it was well organized and ran smoothly.
The weather co-operated with the rain setting in after we had finished.
Quite a lot of weird and interesting rubbish for what initially looked like a fairly clean area.
Thanks Captain Terror for the event.

Oh yeah logging is a thing isn't it.
With some sunday morning plans being cancelled late saturday afternoon I messaged Captain Terror to let him know I was able to make it along. I turned up early to help set up, a task that was pretty much already done and I was handed a coffee. Win!
I was super impressed with the amount of teams that turned up today and the amount of rubbish everyone collected. Quite a few teams filled up a bag, emptied it into the bulk bag and headed off to find more.
With some prizes handed out and a photo taken it was time to head back across town for the rest of my plans. TFTCTRLNSL

A great morning was had with new and old caching friends. We had great fun gathering all the rubbish we could find and the event stayed rain free which was a bonus. I stumbled across an injured bird and had to make a quick trip to the emergency vet nearby hopefully the little fella makes it. Thanks for organising this, my first CITO. ???
Attended the Cito today, nice morning out with some friendly familiar faces. I think I earnt this ending up with slushy shoes and blood drawn from.spiky vines in the swamp nearby the event. Well organised, thanks. Tftc
Thanks Captain Terror for this well-organised event.
That was a big bag of rubbish collected this morning by all. Wonderful effort.
It’s always nice to catch up with familiar faces and today we met some new (to us) cachers too. ??

There didn’t seem like much rubbish around here until I got into the long grass and then I filled a bag quickly. Well organised event. Thanks for the event and the prize
We were running a little late after a tree climb took longer than anticipated, so it seemed most of the easy rubbish pickings along the path had already been found.
We headed into the long grass and found a tree covered in plastics from along ago flooding event, and filled a bag before heading back for the prize draw.
A great event, can't wait for the next one! Good to see so many cachers atending their first ever CITO. This makes our 27th, and we always enjoy doing our part to clean up. You never know what (or who) you'll find in the long grass . Oh, and we got a shiny new souvenir for turning up.
Thanks so much for organising Cap'n T

What a fantastic CITO. Well organised and lots of preparation went into this one. I appreciated the shade! The gifts at the end were an added bonus. Also appreciated the weather behaving for us on the day - thank you!
Best of all, it was great to see a few kids there. I'm a big believer in raising up the next generation to be more aware of the impact they have on the environment, and contributing to maintaining this lump of dirt we rely on for our existance.
Many thanks, Capt'n!

My first CITO event, and a great one at that! Met up with regular caching mates, met a new one and off we headed. While the event stayed rain free, it was certainly hot and sticky along the creek edge collecting rubbish....but worth it! Loads of rubbish collected. Thanks for organising Captain Terror!
My first ever CITO event... luckily the rain held off... it was really nice to put some faces to names... thanks Giraffe18 for coming along with me... after initially thinking that the park was “pretty clean” got proven wrong quickly... amazing what and who you find in the long grass...
Thanks Captain Terror for organising an enjoyable event...??
Thanks Captain Terror for organising an enjoyable event...??
Well, my first CITO was very enjoyable!
I attended with krcamber and jodsta83, then while we were waiting to start getting our hands dirty, we met Stephyy, who made a great addition to the team.
We had expected rain, but it held off and the four of us were able to fill a couple of bags with rubbish pretty quickly.
Chatted with some lovely cachers at the end of the clean-up and overall had a great time.

Found quite a lot of 'treasure'. Nice to see familiar faces and met some new ones.
A warm and humid morning out, but no rain meant the team of CITO Members were able to get down and dirty. Surprising what comes out of a creek or along its banks.
It was also a lovely opportunity to say hello to some fellow cachers and catch up together.
Thanks Captain! A really good event... prizes and games at the end were a bonus laugh and fun. ??

A super event that was well organized and ran extremely well. A lot of trash was collected and a large neat pile left for the council to collect. Such a great turnout made for a sparkling parkland both sides of the creek. Thanks for organizing it Capt Terror. We are glad we came and helped. Cheers!
This was my very first ever geocaching event which also mean first ever CITO event also. I was really nervous about going as my geocaching buddy was sick today and i'm not a very social person.
I decided to suck it up and still attend i'm so very glad i did I got meet some new people and put faces to names i have read in logs. Thank you to Swearah, Krcamber & Jodsta83 for introducing yourselfs to me and letting me join your little group for the day so i wasn't alone and thanks for all the fun while collecting rubbish.
I'm so very grateful to have some friends now who like geocaching like i do
Can't wait to attend another event soon

Another great catch up with fellow geocachers to clean up a big area that appeared quite clean but where oh where did we collect that huge pile from. Every bit adds up. Some beaut prizes were won but people who collected variously named litter. It was hot but not excessive and shelter was provided at base.
Thanks for organising Thomas.

My first CITO and it was great to see such a good turnout.
Thanks for holding MY hand Peppa! ??
The rubbish did pile up quite easily actually even though the park looked fairly clean to begin with.
Looking forward to the next one!

Well not a bad turn out, especially considering the forecast weather. Fangsoki and I brought the extra gazebo just in case the heavens did decide to open but it turned out it was not needed. We arrived at GZ to quite the sea of people, all eager to do their bit. After a short speech from the Captain, we were all grabbing our bags and heading off, heeding the message of exploding bins.
It turns out there was quite some rubbish around. KBreeAhh and I managed to collect an assortment of clothing, including a balaclava (no questions asked around here!), a no parking sign, a baby’s spoon and some completely unidentifiable substance inside some deteriorating clothing (again, we don’t ask questions in these parts. Sometimes the answer is best left unknown).
Others collected tyres, a pipe and a Nissan bumper complete with licence plate.
The weather held out well, right up until the last, and only let go once we were on the drive back home again.
Thanks for the event Captain Terror.
Not bad for the first quarter, Captain, we look forward to the next instalment.

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I started the day with our attendance at the Slacks Creek CITO event. Once the area was cleaned of litter, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I separated, and so I continued to stay around the Slacks Creek and Logan area. I primarily followed the *Ugo in Slacks Creek* Wherigo as it took me a tour of the vicinity, and then later, I visited the centre of Logan and completed the *Logan Gardens* Adventure Lab. Just after lunch, the torrential rain started, and I decided to head home earlier than anticipated.
We arrived and started to walk along the paths and trails, commenting at how clean this area was. I was used to waterways having litter collected along the banks, but even inspecting the creek interface, I couldn't spot any litter. Perhaps everyone had beaten us in collecting this rubbish before us? The CO had commented about some known car parks at the bottom of a bridge, but I guess these were quickly collected at the event start, as there was no sign of them by the time we walked past. At the very end of the event's perimeter, under the bridge, was where we stopped and collected the majority of our rubbish, as there cans, bottles and plastics embedded within the stick debris and mud. I think the polystyrene foam was the worst, as it had broken down to many little parts, and likely quite damaging if it continued to flow downstream into the gulf. We returned to the starting marquee, and watched the prizes distributed amongst a few lucky participants. A nice event and thankfully the rain held out; Thanks Captain Terror for the CITO event organisation (including bag preparation, and subsequent waste disposal). We quite enjoyed our walk around in this area today.

Arriving a bit later than we intended, we hit the trail and collected a heap of rubbish before we even got to the tent. Great effort by everyone who helped today. And even better - no rain this morning (although it was humid and sweaty). As it turned out, it started to rain just as we got home and came in buckets. A check of the radar showed it would have been bucketing down in Logan area as well, so we timed it well
Arrived a bit earlier than kick-off time and surprised how many people were already here. Certainly a big turn-out and happy to see so much rubbish collected from the creek and banks. Thanks Captain Terror for organising this CITO.
Sorry I had to leave early for a Primary School catchup.
Sorry I had to leave early for a Primary School catchup.
So nice of the rain to stay away long enough for all of us to wander the length of the park filling our bags. A surprising amount and variety of rubbish was collected despite the park already looking clean on arrival. A well organized event. TFTC Captain Terror
Thank you Captain Terror for hosting todays CITO. I was amazed at the amount of rubbish we removed from the area, well done to everyone involved.
Lots of bags collected some even had rubbish in them. Get to see the creek now a bit cleaner.
Great to see so many people turn up. Thanks for organising.
It was our first CITO event. Will certainly make it to more.
The coffee was great, thanks for helping us find them!
