Last find of the day spent in the eastern suburbs. We parked right by GZ, and once the dogwalker passed by, the cache didn't take long to find - there are not many places to hide a cache here!Lots of waterfowl in the water, and had to watch where to place ones feet with all the bird poop around. Managed to squeeze in SWaT (for StreetWalkerNZ and Troodles) but no room for the date as well. Took a photo too. TFTC.
#24215. Quick find in an area I know well. I lived in the area for over 10 years in the 70s and 80s. When we moved into the area, access from Lake Terrace Rd to Horseshoe Lake was difficult because of a wall of vegetation separating the two. The best access point was a mound of shingle about 50m back towards New Brighton Rd from GZ, at the point where Lake Terrace Rd meets the Lake, and swings right. The shingle extended from the road to the lake, and was a good place to launch canoes. Us kids knew it as Jack Bomb (but I've no idea why). Later access to the lake was opened up along Lake Terrace Road, with lots of willows removed. That might have been about the time the pumping station was built. TFTC.
Down from Whangarei for a few days, so just had to make sure to grab a few caches whilst down here.A nice quick find here after dodging the masses of goose poo .. Log was full, but managed to squeeze a signature in between some old logs. TFTC
Day out geocaching in the red zone. The water birds are breeding I think; they're loud and defensive. Beautiful!Quick find today. The log roll is full but I could just scribble name and date.
Nice quick find here, and I enjoyed exploring the area. As other have said the log book is full, I found a little spot to put the date and my initials but it needs a new log sheet. Nice to bike around here and see a place I haven't been before. Thanks!
Found it with quinella today - the first of our trail round the red zone today tftc
We needed a find for today, so after maintaing the brand new planting at Deville place, which consisted of carrying bark and water to support the newly plated trees, we stopped here. Easy find, both contaienr and logbook were in good condition. Thanks for the cache.
Found 2 caches hidden here, both with logs, signed the one in the container with a top; TFTC
6 July 2023 5:33 pm. Yet another day geocaching just as the sun goes down. Found two caches, one in better condition than the other, but signed both to cover all my bases. TFTC 5STARSNZ # 4012
New container and log placed. Old one is right below, in case CO wants to collect.
Nice little find on an early morning pedal. It appears half of the container is missing. I felt around at the base but didn’t find it.
A cute wee hide, nice spot here. Horseshoe Lake has changed a lot since the earthquakes. I found the information on the cache page really interesting. TFTC!
Couldn’t find it even after looking at previous notes but it had just rained so didn’t want to look at the underneath of the platform
A nice quick find.
Lovely to sit in the shade of the big tree nearby to sign the log.
Thanks

Thanks
Out and about so stopped here. The opposite bank is vastly different from back in the day.
It's been a few weeks since my last great Sat morning exped. Weather and work have conspired against me. But no excuses this morning..... Nice wee hide, hidden in plain sight. Cheers!
Let the sprog have a go on this one and it didn't take long to find - nice. Cheers
I quickly found this geocache and we decided that we had had enough for today as the wind is very cold and my ribs are very sore from getting in and out of the car. We are off to play board games for the rest of the day in the warm.
Thanks for this cache, 5STARSNZ. I hope that this earns me the Blue Switch Souvenir.
A lovely day to be out & about; I slept in so missed the Quail Island event … so this is a consolation prize.
