OzHockeyChick, Geoturtle37 and I stayed at Drysdale last night after spending most of the day chasing caches. Today we are hoping to find some more before heading home. Hoping that the weather is kind to us. Looked in what we thought were the obvious places and then the aha moment. Thanks for placing the cache for us all to enjoy.
In town for a non-geocaching event, I took the opportunity to make a weekend of it, and find some caches in the area. Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 joined in with the fun. Despite the rather high winds, we got the e-scooters out to attempt a few caches along the rail trail. We stopped here for some time, admiring all the colourful spectators. A fav point for bringing us here. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Flying Platypus ~~
I came for a CITO, then collected some Adlabs, with some nearby caches thrown in. Found this one quickly. I liked the retainer used to keep it in place. Many thanks to Flying Platypus for the cache.
Yes my gate keeper!!! I used to love that game. Took a little bit but if you really think about the clue its obvious tftc rippa!!!
A favourite for this one. We needed the clue, but it took quite a while looking at more likely places before we found the cache in the only remaining place. TFTC a favourite added.
A long planned trip away finally came to fruition as we headed off to Geelong after a gap of some years to catch up with caching friends. There is always a good variety of caches and hides to search for and Geelong itself is a pretty spot with lots of places to explore. Plenty of history and lovely scenery with the bay, riverside, open paddocks and bushland. We particularly enjoyed the many trails and riverside paths where Mrs SKI could give her new ebike a workoutA great time was had with lots of laughs and ribbing as we searched for the various caches and wondered what we might find next. We also had the chance to catch up with some great local cachers on a lovely evening out.Logs signed as SKI Pair, SP or RASP.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Flying Platypus.**SKI Pair****
Found on a typical Summer day with Roostaman and friends, on a a short trip to Vic. . Lots of travelling and caches as well. Thanks for the cache Flying Platypus, ***MrsRoosta***

What a fantastic day of geocaching around Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula! The weather was perfect, and the landscapes were stunning. Our group ventured through a mix of urban areas, lush parks, and coastal paths in search of hidden caches. The camaraderie among our caching crew made the day even more enjoyable, with plenty of laughs and shared triumphs as we uncovered each cache. As the sun began to set, we gathered to celebrate our successes and swap stories from the day's adventures.Geocaching around Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula was truly a memorable experience, and we can't wait to return for more caching adventures in the future! This is one of the caches found today. the cache was just sitting in plain sight. FAV for the novelties near by.Thanks Flying Platypus for the cache.

17:02Christmas Eve 2023, so different to our covid enriched 2022 Christmas. We spent the afternoon in the area of the Bellarine Country Towns 2 Adventure Lab. We found a number of caches in the strong wind, with most unusual cloud features hovering above. No other visitors to the family today allowed us to make a quick visit. Thanks to Flying Platypus for hiding caches in interesting locations. 36244

We looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this one out!
We feel as we know the gatekeeper's family, having been following the life of the G2Q trail.
Unfortunately despite a much widened search, this 2.5/1.5 didn't want to show itself to us today!
Thanks for the hunt anyway Flying Platypus.

Today I wanted out of the house to get away from the jets flying over the house in Lara practicing for next weekends airshow. A call to Neville_devil and we thought we would pay a visit to the Dromaniax and also grab a couple of caches while we were down there.
After our visit we only had a short time to cache before I had be back to pick up a Daughter.
Last cache for the day or my daughter will be waiting too long for me after she finishes work.
After a quick look around I had an I idea of where to try and when I went to look it was on the ground It was obvious where it had come from so when I finished signing a put it back where it should be. Hopefully it stays in place this time.
Thank you Flying Platypus for the smiley

The final of the day and was the first place I checked
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would be nothing around for those who like to find geocaches.

A clever hiding mechanism here. I looked in a few other spots first but after thinking things through zeroed in on the hide. Thanks for the cache Flying Platypus.
Found on a Rail Trail return ride from Moolap to a cache 3.5km from Drysdale. This led to 38 caches over 36km or so, I’m very tired but it was well worth it. Took a few minutes to find, a very clever hiding mechanism! Awesome house exteriors. TFTC!
Enjoying a father-son bike ride to Queenscliff and rediscovered this location that always puts a smile on the face. The cache was attached well and when the coast was clear we made the retrieval. TFTC
An interesting family looked on as I did my search routine. Sure I could hear them laughing. Eventually looked in a likely spot and voila!
Thanks flying platypus..

Had just found a cache in Banks Road that I gave a favourite to, and this one merits the same. You get to ponder where the cache could possibly be in this location, and , unless you are careful, the weird stuff on the owner's fenceline is a distractor. Speed is of the essence when you actually start looking, so careful thought is required first. What is revealed when you succeed is a clever device that explains how you could possibly hide something in such an exposed spot. Thanks for the fun.
Quick find by hubby Wespro today but only because we had trouble retrieving a similar cache in Ballarat two days ago. So the thought to even look there was quite fresh. Could be quite a tricky hide otherwise. Thanks for putting the cache out
We met the Gatekeeper's Family... They weren't a particularly talkative bunch. Possibly a little green with envy over our getting out and about chasing caches.
Thanks heaps, Flying Platypus!

We loved this spot.
We saw the gatekeeper mowing the grass as we walked up bit she was going the other way.
Made a quick find in an obvious place to a geocacher.
The lady mowing asked us if we were there for the geocache and also told us about her sculptures. She is very nice and likes the geocache being there.
Thanks for the hide.

Been down here in Geelong for almost a week now visiting my daughter for the Christmas/New Year break, so as I do, I get up well before everyone else to take yet another chunk out of the Bellarine Rail trail series. An early morning ride on my poor under-utilised mtb seemed just the ticket, whereas previous attacks have been undertaken on foot.
I’ve come across a few of these type of hides since I arrived in Geelong, not come across many back home. But had a little trouble replacing it! Successful in the end!

A few years ago we cycled the Geelong to Drysdale section of the Bellarine Rail trail, having now returned to the area it was time to give the next section a go.
Lot's of muggles using the trail on a pretty day to be outside but we were undisturbed in any of our searching. Helps that people think it ordinary to be photographing the nearby POI!

Had to use some stealthy tricks here. But luckily found it in the first place i looked. A neat hide TFTC Flying Platypus
Yay! Found on our second attempt but had to return a third time to sign the log. Much fun watching our friend try and find it when we all knew where it was! Great hide!
It took about seven walks down to the spot to find it! Worth the patience to keep looking… Loved it !
Poked in many holes containing bugs, finally found the correct little hidey hole! Thanks for placing!
Out with Bogonghazy after he picked up a kayak in Curlewis and time for a few caches on the way home.
A quick find but sleuth was definitely needed with the roadworks and the keeper of the gate out mowing the lawn. Thanks Flying Platypus

Out and about caching on the Bellarine Peninsula trying to catch up on all the new caches that have been released since our last clean up. We couldn't believe how many new ones there were for us to find but we were very happy to have some more local placements to enjoy our day off, doing what we love best.
With workman across the road we used discretion on locating this one. Lucky we had an idea where to search and our instincts paid off.
Thanks Flying Platypus for the sneaky placement.

Out for a day's caching with Sorceysal after picking up a kayak in Curlewis.
This was an easy find for us as we picked up a few on our way home .
Thanks again FP, the Gatekeeper's creator was in the yard mowing today, but didn't seem to be interested in us

Nice neat little hide here. Liked his family. As I was heading back to the car a truck came along the railway lines. That was different too.
Thanks Flying Platypus

Found this clever little hide but we dropped the canister in the pole and had to use our caching skills to pry it out. TFTC
I know this place well! And the cache was in the first place that I looked as I have one just llike it
I have been waiting for the new Natural Wonders of the World to be released so today I decided to head off to Leopold and Drysdale to start gathering as many as I could.
Started off well with three out of seven at the first three and then fell in a hole as the next three were all the same as one I had already gained but on my last find today I was lucky to get my fourth “Natural Wonder”.
My first cache in Drysdale on this trip and soon touched the hide but how ot remove so back to the White Beast and found what I needed and the container was soon in hand, signed and returned.
Thanks to the Flying Platypus for the hide.

Congratulations to Magpies22 on their first FTF, the first of many I hope.
I’d left this one and moved further up the track as to not draw attention from muggles.
On returning the well hid cache was located.
Log signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the Traditional cache Flying Platypus
