Today we have had a big caching trip to Port Sorrel looking for as many caches as we could find in my quest to get to our next milestone by the end of November. Weve got no chance but definitely have no chance if we dont even try. As most caches required shanks pony our numbers were limited to around 30 finds for the day along with 3 dnf. Our primary focus to begin with was the 4 low tide caches all of which were successfully found. We then spent a while at Squeaking Point before a walk along the main trail near Hawley Beach. Thanks mainly to Spreyton and Angus88 for the bulk of our finds and of course to all the other hiders for adding enjoyment to our day. I walked 20,000 steps and 15km.Almost missed the signpost here . TFTC

While visiting the area today we targeted the caches in the conservation area here.
It was an enjoyable bushwalk and didn't take too long to get around them all.
Co-ords were about 10 meters out for us but using the hint we found it easily.

Thanks for the cache Spreyton22.
RLD4963, the two GeoGSP's and I were visiting Port Sorell for a few days r&r. This is another reserve which had had half the number of caches last time we visited Port Sorell, so today we were back to find the new ones.
All the ones we found today were straightforward finds.

Second visitor today and I'm pretty sure that the Hancock Clan, who also had signed the log book for today, were there as we were driving past.
They were gone by the time we arrived back at the cache though.
A quick find in the obvious place.
Thanks Spreyton22.

The first cache of the day. We were camping at Narawntapu for a couple of nights and with the soggy forecast decided not to venture too far. As it was the day turned out nowhere near as bad as predicted (to start with anyway!). TFTC!
Cheers,
The Hancock Clan

We decided to use a leave day to do some caching in the Squeaking Point area after doing some of the Port Sorell caches recently. A beautiful day for strolling around in the bush, not too hot. We saw a few other people out and about as well, nice to see that these tracks get used. This cache was a quick find with the aid of accurate coordinates. TFTC

Today we are heading to the Port Sorrell area to collect many of the newish caches that have been placed in recent times.

We were wondering if the reason this area is called squeaking Point is because the trees genuinely sound like they are squeaking!! Nice size cache, quickly located and signed.

17-Apr-21
Continuing my search for recently published caches in the area I decided to do the walk in the conservation area. The cache was quickly located.

Another incredibly marvellous autumn day left little option but to go on a caching expedition at Squeaking Point. New ones have popped up since we were last here, so plenty of pay dirt on hand. This one was quickly in hand, and gave us the incentive to follow up with others close by. TFTC #5 Spreyton22.

03-Apr-21
With Easter off from work, it was a good opportunity to try and close the gap on my target for the year. 500 finds for the year is the target, and this run brought me up to 230 odd, so only 3 months in I am on track for this target.

The highlight (and hardest part of this day) was the walk out to the cache Lieu-Pine-Ner at Point Sorell. The walk was challenging due to the number of rocks being very uneven. I was hoping 2 hours, but in the end it took 3 hours. Geo Kid O was still going strong at the end, but it had taxed me.

Thank you for placing this cache and maintaining it.

A great collection of caches in this area

In the late afternoon we decided to head to Port Sorell to look for some caches that had been published recently. We were appreciative for the hint as when we had the cache in hand, the posted coordinates were 12m away to the South East. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Spreyton22 for the cache and the others you have placed in the area.
