With a couple of days free, I decided to head off on an overnight solo caching and camping trip.I targeted a few caches of interest, including this one.Its been a while since I collected the required information from the starting location and even longer since Ive been near GZ. Based on previous experience with Rod81w caches, I didnt really expect Id be able to do this T5 cache on my own, but I thought it would be worth a look. I could see a number of possible options and was very pleased to find the cache in the first place I looked! The cache container and contents were in good condition. Thanks Rod81w for the cache. A favourite point from me.

Out and about caching with Cheezel and WayneAPN while on a trip to the Riverland.Good to finally get the find for this one so many km away from the original coords.A fun climb to get this one.Cache found and log stamped

The original plan was to head to the Argadells north of Port Augusta but the logistics simply didnt work out for us.So its Plan B, the Riverland So here we are, The 3 Stooges, WayneAPN (or as we call him That Numbers Guy), weredunn4 ( Mr Adventure) and myself are hitting the Riverland for some targeted high T caches, plus many many others along the way.Suffice to say, these are always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderieAll caches found and stamped. Any caches needing maintenance, we did our best to restore them to good health whether that be an additional log or new container. Thanks to all the COs for the caches we found this weekend, without you we dont have this game TFTC

Have had the coords for this one for a while now. But needed the opportunity to be in the area. Today was the day. Meandered to GZ, the Rolla handling the track with ease. While here, I grabbed the details for another nearby multi.Out with the TOTT and soon had the prize in hand.Great cache, which reflects good-ol Rex, everyone's favourite. TFTC SL

Dont you love it when you solve the puzzle and realise that the final container is over 180 km away?Oh, well.

A local mentioned this cache to me when we told them our travel plans! So whilst in Adelaide we made sure to see what it was all about and obtained the GZ coordinates for this unique multi-cache! Turns out it ended in a spot we were planning to visit, which was just perfect! Had to detour further into the park for it then we thought, quite a nice drive though! We reached GZ eventually and spotted a pretty likely contender for the cache, we were feeling quite nervous after driving all this way as it hadn't been found since 2022! We lugged the ladder over and set it up, and not long after I ascended it the cache was spotted exactly where we expected! Woooohooo! Big GrinA very epic multi, didn't expect to finish it on this trip but it just lined up so well with our travel plans! Thanks Rod81w

I found this cache during my trip to the South Australian MEGA in 2024 sometime between the 23rd of February and the 9th of March 2024. Not sure of the exact day that I found this cache as I found over 1500 caches for the trip and decided to log them all when I got home. This cache was signed DSD or DARKSIDEDAN or AB or Adventure Boys. Thank for the cache and the adventure.

I'd found the start of this some time ago and then on realising the final location knew it would have to be another trip. Lock downs and lock outs meant a road trip with the rest of the crew was going to have to wait but it finally came together. Despite the wet we made it in even the roos looked drenched and the new road works were only just above water. We identified a host and Crash did the honors but almost grabbed a possum as a bonus. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

SA Bike trip day #5 with **bella at waggy**, **Purplepeopleater** and **TARDIS 0061**
Swan Reach SA to Hay NSW

After a very rewarding 3 days in the area with huge find tally, it was time to head home with heavy rain forecast over the next few days. Grabbing a few more WIGs on our way.

Collected the required details on our recent trip from Adelaide to Millicent. Today it was time to put one of our TOTTs to good use to retrieve the cache.

Found It!
I visited WP1 sometime last year then today I was finally in the area of GZ so I just had to stop and find this one. The ladder did the job and a soon had it in hand. Quite a contrast in scenery between WP1 and GZ!

Made it in the single figures of the certitude checkers not hidden but if you count the green ticks my name is in the double figures. Drove in here on day 2 in the afternoon to get as many as we could ( some of the tracks and camp sites are currently underwater ). Stopped and looked for cache from the ground. That will be easier with the big ladder. quick climb and stamp.
Out with the Mogni for a short trip out to the riverland, only 3 days. It was hot first 2 days where 40 degrees and the last day was 33 degrees. Since the rules just changed about covid 19 testing before and after entering vic to no testing, we changed our plans on the way up and decided to go via Murray Sunset National Park. The idea was to find as many caches as we could that haven't been found recently most hadn't been found in 3 months. On day 1 we replaced 10 out of the first 12 caches, all broken container and 1 log book replaced, and by the end of the day had a heaped medium bin liner bag full of broken containers, the hot mallee sun doesn't do the plastic containers any good. Day 2 saw us caching around Loch Luna and lake Bonney which is way easier driving around here in the dry then in the rain like my last visit here. Onlt 1/2 a medium bin liners back of replaced containers today, people must fix the closer to the highway caches more often. On day 3 it was back in to the mallee country and home via Pinnaroo. Getting those " out of the way caches ". Plenty of dirt roads where driven down and many, many back sandy tracks taken. It was good to explore all the country areas and stay off the highway.

Sir_spectre and I targetted this cache as we had the right Tott to make the find with us. Sir_spectre did the honours and made a quick find.

Seems I visited WP1 on 21 March 21. Made my visit to GZ was exactly eight months later. Spotted the cache from the ground. Held the ladder will the Gridge climbed the ladder. Co signed the log. Gridge returned to ground without any extra acceleration. Nice tree.

I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.

The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

I saw this published and decided to go for a drive to waypoint 1, after the calculation was done. Well that can stay there for another day.

Today in the riverland Freddo and I decided to make the journey with the ladder to find the final cache, up I went the cache was signed and returned.

"Great little multi"?
Nothing little about the 150+ km between the start point and finish!
Seems only a cpl of finders even mention having been to the start point... not even the "beta testers" have!

We'd done the preparation for this when in the big smoke after reading the couple of logs. Now it was time to go and collect as this was part of our mega route! The question was how and whether we could get there now that we were in the area? The GPS thought we were amphibious and sent us to water a couple of times. Either the new causeway is holding back more water or there has been a lot more rain than expected. Anyway we kept finding other ways and eventually made it around to GZ on a very nice road.
We spent a long time just looking for the cache before attempting it. Budigetas spotted some colour and we eventually agreed that could be the prize we were after. Our TOTT was only just up to the challenge and needed a little boost but we got it even though SSR just about turned himself inside out in the process!
Thanks Rod81w for the experience.

The Millicent Mega trip had been a long time in the making, for the Tassie trio of stainless steel rat, budgietas and gooseandegg, due to a couple of false starts thanks to COVID19. More and more caches were added to the extensive list as planning was being finalized. We focused on old caches, large caches, certain D/Ts, virtual caches, the On your Bike series and a few other special ones on our journey. Our route saw us caching in Adelaide for a few days before heading north via Gawler to the Barossa in preparation for the On your Bike series, whilst basing ourselves at a gorgeous cottage in Waikerie. We continued on to Renmark for a night before the long trek south to Millicent.
Some of the many highlights along the way were Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin’s Cache, Barossa High and Riverland (the oldest surviving geocache in South Australia).
At the Mega we caught up with a few of our caching friends, made some new ones, and of course missed many who could not make it this time. The weather was not the best in Millicent, and a COVID19 situation in Mt Gambier altered our plans but we had plenty of caches to keep us busy between showers, including tree climbs, plenty of adventure labs, and the entertaining Finding a Fish series - giving the new pole a good workout for the first time.
Thanks to all the CO’s who have placed and maintained all these caches that made our adventure so memorable.

After a big day previously (335 caches), we were all fairly exhausted, so we ticked off the last of the On Your Bike Series and made our way to Renmark, and a FTF. On the way we found selected caches like this one.

Great little multi. Favourite point given

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Early in 2021 I received an invite from GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to join them on a caching trip to the Mega in South Australia. As planning got underway some caches with high Favorite points, very old caches, and the On Your Bike Series were listed as "must-dos"

The trip ended up being 10 days of solid and very enjoyable caching with quite a few highlights. The find count for the trip was around the 950 mark when all GCA, Adventure Lab, and GC caches are included. The high point for finds was a day of 335 finds in the one day, which would have been more, but a sudden storm put the end to caching for the day. No one was interested in getting out of the car to find a cache in a downpour in the dark Smile

We were lucky enough to find Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin's Cache, and my favorite for the trip Barossa High (From 21st of January 2001 with the original log book still in place) all in the one day.

Unfortunately, the caching around the mega was beset by bad weather and the day we had put aside for Mount Gambier was scrapped due to a covid case in Mount Gambier on the previous day, so we avoided the area. We all enjoyed the Fishing series and just managed to get the remaining of these before the light failed for the day.

In the end I managed to completed my D/T grid for the first (and possibly the second time) which was my aim for the year, although some of the D/T combinations were not really achievable in Tasmania without a 3 day overnight bush walk.

Now this one was on the list due to goose having a soft spot for Multi's and being a Good DT, found with a Goose and a Budgie.

Even with the numbers being down it was great to attend a Mega and at least get to meet some fellow cachers after so long and catch up with a few people, we flew over from Tassie on Thursday and after spending a few days in Adelaide we headed Northeast to clean up some series and then head South to Millicent for the start of the Mega long weekend.

This trip has changed so many times since it was first booked and I'm glad we got to do it at long last, to start with it was just myself and GooseandEgg nipping over for the Mega and then it was a few more days with the addition of 1 toolman, then with lockdown it was back to two of us but then another Tassie cacher in the shape of BudgieTas stepped up to the plate and we were back on for an over a week trip to grab a few caches before the Mega and then finish off with Millicent before flying home on the Tuesday.

Thanks for the cache.

Was in the area geocaching with the co a while ago when we came across this spot and thought it was a good spot for a cache. Thankfully we had a few containers and blank log books on hand, and an appropriately sized container was chosen. It took a little bit of manoeuvring but the cache was finally hidden away and out of sight. Now that the podium of finders has been filled, I am logging this as found as one of the beta testers.

Found it on a return visit with additional information. A great hidey spot. Thanks for a great multi. Brad has left Janet Ruff Ruff and Mr Quinn home while he heads to the Riverland. The primary aim of the trip is to be a speaker at an event in the Riverland on 24 June. However a 7 hour Board meeting from 9am until 4pm that day means traveling up a day early and then heading home on Friday. The bike has come along as well as a few other TOTTs. And it seems only reasonable to take the opportunities to grab a few finds along the way. Both to break up the trip and to get some specific targets.

Why wouldn’t we drive out here late at night you ask? Because of the masses of kangaroos could be one reason. Of course spotting the hide in the dark could be another. Although the glint of the spider’s eyes did show the way to the prize.
Eventually the log was signed and no kangaroos or spiders were harmed in finding this cache.

I wouldn’t have even known about this cache let alone been able to solve it without the help of a geo-friend. Came for a drive on this glorious day but alas I don’t think this is one I can achieve, certainly not on my own. Having smashed up my right hand side in a car accident in my twenties I am aware of my limitations, so whilst I was happy enough to climb up my ladder and explore what I could reach from there, I didn’t feel safe enough to transfer over for the next step. I’m sure a more intrepid explorer will manage the find soon!
